The most famous Japanese master also studied Buddhism here, and later returned to Japan to establish the Japanese Tiantai Sect. Therefore, Longxing Temple is the ancestral home of the Japanese Buddhist Tiantai Sect and a template for Japanese Buddhist temples. It has been destroyed and rebuilt several times in history, but the Thousand Buddha Pagoda inside the temple is the original of the Yuan Dynasty and one of the only two remaining Yuan Pagodas in Zhejiang. The line of the Great Wall near Chaotian Gate is the most beautiful. It meanders down from Beigu Mountain and rushes left and right among the dense vegetation, facing the Lingjiang River in the distance. It can connect the winding Great Wall with the enemy platform, the highest Yanxia Pavilion, and the heavy wall behind it. The Range Rover Gate is the main entrance and exit of the Great Wall and the highest gate. It is said to stand high and see far. The Gu Jing Tower standing on the Range Rover Gate looks into the distance and has a panoramic view of the beautiful East Lake. The stone memorial archway in front of the square is engraved with the four characters "the southeast of the majestic town". The 198 steps follow the steep mountain trend from the square to the Range Rover Gate. Looking up from below, they look at the magnificent momentum, which frightens those who are afraid of heights. It is called "Hero Slope". There is a gentle slope on the right side for walking. The bronze statue of Qi Jiguang stands tall inside the city gate. Looking back at history, in the 36th year of the Jiajing reign of the Ming Dynasty, Qi Jiguang stationed himself in Taizhou Prefecture to resist Japanese aggression. In order to further enhance the military defense capability of the coastal city wall, he created a hollow enemy platform. Later, he brought the hollow enemy platform to the north and applied it to the Northern Great Wall. Therefore, the Taizhou Prefecture city wall is also known as the "demonstration blueprint" of the Northern Ming Great Wall.
