Different from the travel methods of their fathers, young people are more willing to choose to travel by car. The freedom to go as they please and stop as they please is unmatched by flying, trains and other means of transportation. In early summer when the temperature is suitable for travel, I asked a friend to drive Lingke 01 and started a weekend trip that I wanted to go.

In two days, we set out from Hangzhou and went to Tonglu, the location of the popular "Life of Desired", and Qiandao Lake, which is known as the "Middle Tour of Thousand Islands Clear Water Painting". We checked in the ancient village of Jiangnan, Shen 'ao Village, and Wu Guanzhong's ink painting in Jiangnan, the best viewing platform for Dongziguan Village and Qiandao Lake to view the lake.

Shen 'ao Village is located at the northern foot of Tianzigang, Tonglu County, Zhejiang Province, and on the south bank of Fuchun River. Shen 'ao Ancient Village is a blood village of the Shentu family. With its ancient culture, profound history and cultural heritage, unique geographical environment, and long-standing cultural relics and monuments, it has become a famous Jiangnan ancient village in Tonglu.

The Shen 'ao Village Residence is rectangular. There is an old street in the middle, running from north to south, more than 500 meters long and about 3 meters wide. It is paved with pebbles and a spring diversion canal (commonly known as Macao) is built under it. Macao is deep in water, making it famous for its name. There are three alleys on each side of the street, shaped like the word "non"; in the 1980s, new streets were built on both sides of the northern highway and joined the old streets to become a "leek" shape. It is densely populated and is the largest village in Tonglu.

Shen 'ao Village is a blood village of the Shentu family. Among the nearly 5000 people in the village, 85% of the residents have the same surname as Shentu, and there are also 36 surnames such as Zhu and Zhou. The ancestors of the Shentu family moved in from Shentu Mountain in Fuyang in the early Southern Song Dynasty, and their descendants multiplied into a prominent family.

Most of the buildings in Shen 'ao Village were built during the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and the exterior looks typical of Hui style. About hundreds of ancient buildings in the village are completely preserved. Most of them are four-in-one courtyards with a simple and generous appearance, simple and natural white walls and black tiles, gorgeous and exquisite interiors, and a very high level of craftsmanship in carving beams and painting columns, which have high ornamental value.

It is worth mentioning that the drainage system in this village is extremely advanced in design, and various culverts and open ditches are extremely exquisitely designed and very practical. Among them, the underditch is about 4 meters deep underground, 1.5 meters wide, and about 2 meters high, running through the entire village. The bottom of the canal is paved with pebbles, and the canal is built with a dome. Adults can enter and exit for dredging, and the canal water is clear and sweet. In order to facilitate water collection, water ports are opened at a certain distance. Because the water ports are relatively deep, the locals call it Ao, which gives the name of the village of Shenao. Nowadays, this underground canal has also become one of the highlights of this village. After reading it, people really admire the advanced design concepts of the ancients.

In addition, there is also a Dai Mansion worth seeing in Shen 'ao Village. It is said that this place was the former residence of Dai Li, the head of the military during the Republic of China, and his lover. It was also the place he used to train secret agents. Dongziguan Village faces the Fuchun River and is backed by small mountains. It has a beautiful environment, unique location, and has a long historical origin and profound cultural heritage. It was once deeply loved by Yu Dafu, and he wrote the novel "Dongziguan" in this name.

In ancient times, Dongziguan Village has always been an important water pass with convenient transportation. Daily necessities, wood and other goods were unloaded at the mouth of Dongziguan. It became an important trade distribution center on the south bank of Fuchun River. Merchants and merchants were known as the Fuchun River's "first pass in the east."

Changtang, located in the center of the village, has been a prosperous place in Dongziguan Market since ancient times. A stone street extends from Changtang to Yueshi Temple on the side of Fuchun River. In ancient times, tea houses, rice shops, cigarette shops, wine shops, sauce gardens, pharmacies, nanhuandian stores, tofu shops, etc. are lined up and lively.

Today, Dongziguan Village still retains nearly 100 ancient Huizhou buildings from the late Qing Dynasty. Most of these ancient buildings are owned by "Xu Shifang", a famous family in Dongziguan. Opening the "Xu Family Tree" is like passing through the dust and mist of time. People pass down the story of hanging pots to help the world and building bridges and paving roads through word of mouth, becoming clearly visible.

Dongziguan is a quiet, leisurely, safe and self-sufficient riverside town. The folk customs here are simple and the environment is beautiful. It is worth spending some time visiting here.

Tianyu Mountain: The best viewing platform for Qiandao Lake

The Qiandao Lake Scenic Area, which has been repeatedly rated as a green lung resort by CNN, is a good choice for vacations and breathing oxygen to wash the lungs. There are 1078 islands dotted here. The lake is full of blue waves, the mountains are towering and green, and the lake is clear as a mirror. The islands are dotted with deep canyons, beautiful streams, and strange caves. It is known as the "Middle Tour of Thousand Islands Clear Water Painting".

Among the many islands in Qiandao Lake, there are many reasons why it is worth visiting. The island is densely forested and overgrown with wild fruits, like Monkey Island, the main island of the Yunmeng Islands, which is like a paradise; a scenic spot in western Zhejiang, Longshan Island, named for its shape like Wolong; and Meifeng Island, known as "you don't visit the Meifeng Islands and don't know the true face of the Thousand Islands", are all famous islands in Qiandao Lake.

However, among these islands, there is also a Tianyu Observation Platform, which has a panoramic view of the vast lake on the west, north and southwest sides.
