The sky is getting darker and darker, and a heavy rain is coming. After a stroll around Huagang Fish Guanyu Park, I went to the dock to buy a ticket, took a West Lake cruise ship and boarded Xiaoyingzhou Island for a tour, and then took a boat to Pinghu Qiuyue Wharf to ashore. Friendly reminder: After visiting Xiaoying Island, you must understand where you are going. Don't choose the wrong dock to board the boat and take the wrong direction, because there are multiple docks.

As soon as I got on the boat, there was a heavy rain, and I couldn't see Leifeng Tower clearly. The smoke was full of smoke and hazy, with a different charm. The rain on the island finally subsided. The scenery on Xiaoying Island is elegant and suitable for taking photos. I used a small aperture to slowly take pictures of the people flowing on the curved bridge.

This is the earliest Louwailou and is now the main store, and all others are branch stores. Classical decoration and magnificent. The TV series "Louwailou" tells its story. After the TV series was popular, there were many diners, and generally they had to reserve a table. We're here early and we still have room.

Louwailou was created by Hong Ruitang, a Shaoxing man, during the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty. Popularize the story of Louwailou: In the 28th year of the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty (1848), a scholar named Hong Ruitang from Shaoxing went to Hangzhou to take the imperial examination, but in the end he was not on the list. The lost Hong Ruitang returned home and received even more sad news: his parents, who were already in poor health, both died in the plague. Hong Ruitang was very sad at the face of such bad news. After handling the funeral for his parents, he said to his wife: "I have studied hard for many years, but in the end I have failed to realize my wish to gain fame. I have lost confidence. Let's leave this sad place and go to a new place to start living again."

His wife Tao Xiuying agreed with him. In fact, she had long since stopped wanting her husband to continue studying hard. The family was already poor, and she could hardly hold on anymore. In this way, Hong Ruitang and his wife moved from East Lake in Shaoxing to Qiantang, settled on the Xiling Bridge at the foot of Gushan Mountain, and made a living by rowing and fishing. At first, they only sold some live fish and shrimp. Although it wasn't long, they gradually accumulated some money.

After all, Hong Ruitang is a person who has read books. He knows that only when processed things are worth more. That day, after dinner, he and his wife discussed: "We have lived in Shaoxing for so long, and the fresh shrimp and live fish we cook are delicious. Why don't we make it carefully and open a restaurant?"

"Husband, this is a good idea, but will the food from our own hometown be welcomed here?"

"Wife, how about this? Let's make some for the neighbors tomorrow. If they say it's delicious, we'll open a restaurant. I've been optimistic about it for a long time. There's actually no restaurant in the Xiling Bridge area. That must be the beginning of our business."

The next day, Hong Ruitang and his wife went to the Qiantang River early to bring fish and shrimp. By noon, they had already prepared several delicious dishes.

"Husband, how do you think we should divide these meals? Which plate will Lao Wang's family give? Which plate will Lao Zhang's family give?"

That's right, what my wife said is not unreasonable. Sending it off like this is not a solution. It takes so much effort and effort to achieve half the result. Hong Ruitang looked up at the sun. It was nearly noon. The people working in the fields and fishing in the river were coming back, and their homes were the only way they had to go home. His eyes rolled and he came to mind.

The couple found a table, placed all the dishes in front of their house, and invited people who had passed by to taste them. People who had eaten all gave a thumbs up and said,"Hong's daughter-in-law, you have a good cooking. I didn't expect the food you cooked to be so delicious!"

Hong Ruitang's daughter-in-law was a clever person and immediately said: "This dish was made by my husband and me. We plan to open a small restaurant in the Xiling Bridge area. Everyone should come and visit more then." Hong Ruitang didn't expect his wife to promote it in advance.

When everyone heard this, they immediately echoed: "Oh, this is a happy event. When your restaurant opens, we will definitely go and support it!"

After the dishes were finished, everyone dispersed. Hong Ruitang and his wife said happily: "It seems that our restaurant is a must."

Later, Hong Ruitang took all his savings and went near Xiling Bridge to find a suitable address for a future restaurant. In the end, I chose an idle bungalow located between Yulou and Xiling Yinshe, next to Liuyi Spring. After renting the house, Hong Ruitang found someone to renovate it and opened it on an auspicious day. After opening, the words "Louwailou" were written on the plaque in front of the small restaurant.

It is rare to have the name "Louwailou" hung on the bungalow. Everyone joked,"Shopkeeper Hong, your restaurant is not a building." Everyone laughed.

Hong Ruitang smiled and said,"Do you know" Lin 'an Residence "by Lin Sheng, a poet of the Southern Song Dynasty? 'Outside the mountains, green mountains and buildings, when will the West Lake singing and dancing stop? The warm wind made the tourists intoxicated, turning Hangzhou into Bianzhou.' The name of my restaurant comes from here. Of course, I chose this name because I had a wish. I will gradually expand my restaurant and expand it to two or three floors!"

After Hong Ruitang finished speaking, everyone applauded,"Manager Hong is so ambitious! This name gets good! Come, let's all go in and taste his craftsmanship." On the first day of opening, Louwailou won the house.

There is another way to say this "building outside the building". Legend has it that Hong Ruitang had always been worried about the brand name of the restaurant at first, because he could not think of a suitable one, the elegant one was not loud enough, and the loud one was not atmospheric enough. Later, he went to find Mr. Yu Quyuan (Yu Yue), a famous scholar in Yulou, to help him name it. Mr. Quyuan said: "Your restaurant is on the outside of my Yulou, so take the famous sentence of Lin Sheng in the Southern Song Dynasty,'Green Mountain Building Outside the Mountain' and call it 'Louwail'." Hong Ruitang liked this name very much and left with thousands of gratitude.

Whether "Louwailou" was taken by Hong Ruitang or Mr. Yu Quyuan, it is no longer important. In short, these three words add a lot of cultural interest to the restaurant, attracting many arty literati to come here.

My husband and I came here in the 1970s. We tasted the West Lake vinegar fish on the first floor. We only remember that the taste is tender, smooth, sour, and delicious. Today, I'm here again to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the West Lake and taste the famous food in Louwailou at home and abroad on the second floor. The price is mid-range, so let's be corrupt.
