In 2015, our family chose Hangzhou for the first cross-provincial self-driving tour, with a total distance of 455 kilometers. This is our second self-driving trip to Hangzhou after August 2014. Unfortunately, this self-driving tour in Hangzhou was not dedicated enough and was restricted by the newly implemented single and even number restriction policy in the West Lake Scenic Area in 2015. I arrived in Hangzhou at noon on the 24th and drove on Shuguang Road to go to Quyuan Fenghe. I had to turn right at the intersection of Zhejiang University Road because my single-numbered cars were prohibited from passing through the road ahead. According to an online query, the West Lake Scenic Area implements single and even number restrictions on weekends and holidays throughout the year, and the hours are from 8:30 to 17:00 every day. During the implementation period, if the last Arabic digit of the small vehicle license plate is inconsistent with the single and even numbers of the Gregorian day, it is prohibited to pass within the implementation scope. I diverted to Jiefang Road near the lake, but it was difficult to find a parking space there. By the time I parked the car, it took me about 2 hours since I got off the highway. If you take into account the restrictions on license plates from other places in the urban area of Hangzhou during the morning and evening peak hours on weekdays, it is really difficult to drive a self-driving tour in Hangzhou.

January 24, 2015 (Hangzhou weather: sunny to cloudy, 6 to 18 degrees)

At 10 o'clock, we set off from our home in Pudong, Shanghai.

At 10:38, I arrived at the Linhai Highway Toll Station of Shenjiahu Expressway and drove a total of 26 kilometers.

At 11:27, I arrived at Fengjing Toll Station of Shanghai-Hangzhou Expressway. I traveled a total of 90 kilometers and charged 40 yuan for the highway.

At 11:36, I arrived at Fengdayunfei Station on Shanghai-Hangzhou Expressway and traveled a total of 103 kilometers.

At 12:07, I arrived at the Chang 'an Service Area of Shanghai-Hangzhou Expressway to rest and drove a total of 162 kilometers.

At 12:33, I arrived at Hangzhou Pengbu Toll Station on the Shanghai-Hangzhou Expressway. I traveled a total of 195 kilometers and charged 50 yuan for the highway.

This villa on the lake is called Chenglu and faces the West Lake. It is a cultural relic protection unit in Zhejiang Province. It is said that this was Chiang Kai-shek's favorite villa at that time, and he first came here during his honeymoon with Soong Meiling.

Not far from the south side of Chenglu is the Dahua Hotel, which opened in 1936.

The Bell Tower was built in 1919 on the former site of the YMCA Club at the corner of Qingnian Road on Guohuo Road. This is the cultural relics protection unit in Zhejiang Province.

Qingnian Road crosses Jiefang Road north, and the road name is changed to Huixing Road. The following is the former site of the Zhejiang Province Telephone Bureau on Huixing Road, completed in June 1930.

Stayed at Home Inn Hangzhou Hushu South Road that night, and the family room was 192 yuan/night. This store is located on Yeqingdou Road, near Hushu South Road. Although the hotel faces the street, the rooms are surrounded by residential areas, making it quiet in the middle of the traffic. There are about 25 parking spaces in the compound.

The Yuanyuan Noodle Building on Hushu South Road has a good taste and a cheap price.

The parking fee in the West Lake Scenic Area is mostly 10 yuan/hour in normal times, 20 yuan/hour on short holidays and weekends during the tourist season, and 30 yuan/hour during the National Day and Spring Festival holidays. Parking fees are expensive, traffic jams are high, and travel is restricted to single and even numbers. Hangzhou is not suitable for self-driving travel during holidays.

Driving through the tunnel from Shangtianzhu takes about 2 to 3 kilometers to Meijiawu, where "Meiwu Chunchun Morning", one of the ten scenic spots of the New West Lake, points to this. Meijiawu is rich in tea, which is a treasure in the "West Lake Longjing". There are many shops on both sides of the road where you can taste tea and eat farm food.

Yunxi Bamboo Trail, one of the ten scenic spots of the New West Lake, has an entrance fee of 8 yuan.

At 16:49, we arrived at Hangzhou Pengbu Toll Station on the Shanghai-Hangzhou Expressway and traveled a total of 271 kilometers.

At 17:18, I arrived at the Jiaxing Service Area of Shanghai-Hangzhou Expressway to rest and drove a total of 331 kilometers. Add No. 92 oil for 100 yuan, 6.05 yuan/liter.

At 17:47, I arrived at Dayun Toll Station of Shanghai-Hangzhou Expressway. I traveled a total of 364 kilometers and charged 50 yuan for the highway.

At 17:57, I arrived at Fengjing Toll Station of Shanghai-Hangzhou Expressway and traveled a total of 377 kilometers.

At 18:26, I arrived at Xinqiao Toll Station of Shanghai-Hangzhou Expressway and traveled a total of 413 kilometers.

At 18:55, I returned to my home in Pudong, Shanghai, and the journey totaled 455 kilometers.
