Shen Zengzhi, a great Confucian scholar from the late Qing Dynasty, also known as Mei Su, is known for his extensive knowledge of the past and the present, as well as his mastery of both Chinese and Western cultures. He is renowned both domestically and internationally for his master's and Confucian studies. The memorial hall is located at No.1 Yaojiadai Road, the most central area of Jiaxing City, and contains a summary of his life and an exhibition of his achievements; To the north of the memorial hall is the Cathedral of the Virgin Mary, and to the east is the Zicheng Jiaxing Prefectural Office.
Juehai Temple is located on Xiexi Street and was first built in the Southern Song Dynasty. Its original name was Baozhong Temple and Baozhong Temple; During the reign of Emperor Yongzheng of the Qing Dynasty, the temple was renamed Juehai Temple. Emperor Yongzheng personally inscribed the plaque "Juehai Temple" and bestowed upon him a statue of sandalwood Guanyin, but unfortunately, it was either destroyed or missing in later generations. After reconstruction and reconstruction, the temple is now magnificent, and the plaque on the mountain gate is inscribed by Zhao Puchu, the former president of the China Buddhist Association. The fragrance of orchids wafts in the morning breeze, and the murmuring of monks in the morning glow makes the morning class even more peaceful. "Silently speaking, I realize that my heart is content with joy."
According to Zhu Yizun's poem "Zhao Ge of Yuanyang Lake" from the Qing Dynasty, the five lines read: "In the west, there is a stream of leeks, and the ancient wood of Pingshan falls in autumn. It is customary to compete for branches and crows before staying up, and cry at the last wave tower in the deep night." Pingshan is said to have been the location of the Song Dynasty wine industry. In the old days, it was adjacent to the leek stream, and the Moon Wave Tower was built. During the Republic of China period, the Eight Odes Pavilion at the Yanyu Tower was moved here. "Ping Shan Ji Xue" is one of the eight scenic spots of Jiahe in the Qing Dynasty: the misty rain in Nanhu Lake, the bright moon in Jiuxi River, the snow on Ping Shan, the morning sun in Dongta, autumn crops in Hedun, spring mulberry in Hantang, tea and Zen sunset, and wind sails at Shanzha. The word "bottle mountain" of the memorial archway at the gate is written by Mr. Chen Congzhou, an expert in ancient architecture and garden art.
Pu Hua was a famous painter during the late Qing and Republic of China period, skilled in painting flowers, landscapes, and particularly bamboo. He was famous for his "Pu bamboo" and was known as one of the "Four Heroes of the Shanghai School" along with Ren Bonian, Wu Changshuo, and Xu Gu. He had a close relationship with Wu Changshuo. The Puhua Art Museum, Jiaxing Art Museum, and Jiaxing Painting Academy are one archway with three signs, but inside, the courtyard is deep and unique - the park tree and two pomegranate branches are vigorous, and the trees are all over a hundred years old.
Yuehe Historical Block - Jiaxing City retains a relatively complete urban and rural landscape of the former Jiangnan water town, just like many ancient towns today. When it is noisy, it is bustling with people, but when it is quiet, it is also a rain alley, a small bridge, flowing water, or a cup of tea under the window, where you can invite the bright moon by leaning against the railing in the gentle breeze. However, after all, things are different from people, and their forms are well prepared but their spirits are far apart. Once upon a time, the wind gently blew away along the river, facing the rocky alleys of water, sitting idle and talking about daily life, family, country, and the world... The more confused and bustling the hustle and bustle, the clearer it became to see what we once had, whether it was in the city or the countryside
The Yuehe Historical District crosses the Beili Bridge and cannot walk far along the Yuehe River to reach Xiuzhou Bridge. Crossing the bridge is the Lu Xi Hui, with a similar appearance to the Yuehe River; To the north of Luxihui is the Fenshui Dun of the Jiaxing Grand Canal and the nearly abandoned Shuitian An, while on the opposite bank of the Fenshui Dun Canal is the Jiaxing Tea Market.
Jiaxing Station once left the most memorable big date for past passengers is Jiaxing Zongzi sold in a small cart on the platform, or a handful of Nanhu Lings in a small net bag; The journey of life is like a traveling train, stopping at one station after another, leaving behind the scenery along the way and on the platform, but it is not like this train that can no longer go back, cannot go back to the starting point... The Jiaxing Station functional area, namely the waiting area, platform, etc., are all located underground, and the Jiaxing Railway Station History Museum has been rebuilt on the ground, similar to a hundred years ago; To the northwest of the station square is People's Park.
Jiaxing Station is also an important station on the "One Road" today -- looking back a century ago, in 1921, the first representative of the Communist Party of China (CPC) came from Shanghai to Jiaxing Station by train, took a boat to the island in the middle of the lake by Shizihui Ferry, and then turned to the South Lake cruise ship to resume the meeting and announce the birth of the CPC, and then set a prairie fire across the country; Jiaxing Station, together with South Lake, has witnessed the vicissitudes of the country's past century of history.
In Jiaxing, a city with a prosperous culture and a magnificent and profound history, one can wander and rest freely in the streets and alleys, Confucian and Buddhist temples, quiet or noisy, or with the sound of Buddha echoing through the beams, or with the grandeur of Confucianism. Throughout history, with the opening and closing of heaven and earth, the soul that cannot be placed can always find a corner to temporarily settle down
