After working hard for a week, staying at home and sleeping on weekends is the most comfortable thing. However, you will find that you still wake up at that point, and you won't be able to sleep for long. It's better to change places to eat, drink and have fun on weekends to relax your tight nerves for the week. So, I invited a good friend to go on a trip that was as soon as possible. After work, I dragged my luggage and flew from Chongqing to Kunming in about 1.5 hours to Kunming Changshui International Airport. After getting off the plane, I took a taxi directly to the hotel. Arrive at the hotel highly recommended by friends, Deting Garden Hotel, around 8:30 p.m.
Accommodation: Deting Garden Hotel
The hotel is located near the Xicheng Times Business District of the High-tech Zone. It covers a large area and is really full of gardens. When entering the hotel, you will pass a labyrinth garden and white-walled fountain path, which cut off the hustle and bustle of the city. Here, it is a feeling of returning to nature and hiding from the city.
During check-in, the young lady at the front desk told us that there would be free midnight snack from 8:00 to 10:30 p.m.. The journey was tiring, so we could go to the restaurant to enjoy the midnight snack first. After filling our stomachs, we could enter the room and have a good night's sleep.
Regarding this hotel, many friends had mentioned before coming to Kunming that they often travel to various places, and Kunming's Deting Garden Hotel has always left a deep impression on them. In addition to the delicious late snacks we experienced when we first checked in, the hotel also provides free breakfast and lunch. The dishes are all exquisite, Chinese and cold meals are prepared, and the overall atmosphere of the restaurant is also very comfortable. The point is that there are no charges other than the room rate ~ free brunch, free snacks, free laundry, free deposit, free room rounds, etc. What surprised me even more was that the service here was really great. No matter where we went, the staff would greet us warmly or ask if we had any needs. In short, it felt particularly warm and like going home.
Secondly, the experience in the room is very good. There is a disposable soaking bag that you need to soak comfortably after a long journey. There is also a small freezer in the room where you can drink whatever you want. The mattress will not be too soft. Comfort, don't miss it if you come to Kunming!
First stop: Dianchi Lake-One-day trip to Xishan Mountain
After getting up the next day, we had a big meal in the hotel's cafeteria (the dishes were very rich, and the taste of rice noodles is still lingering today), and then we started our two-day and two-night journey in Kunming, Yunnan proudly. First of all, it took us about 20 minutes to get to the foot of the West Mountain from the hotel. Why did we choose the West Mountain as the first stop? Xishan, known as the "Best Place in Central Yunnan", lies on its side 800 miles away from Dianchi Lake. It looks like a girl's self-pity in the mirror, leaving behind the legend of "Sleeping Beauty Mountain" and is Kunming's natural and cultural business card.
Take the cable car in Xishan Park and span 500 miles of Dianchi Lake in the air, overlooking the vast expanse of blue waves and panoramic views of national scenic spots. Next to Dahua Temple in Xishan Park, there is an ancient ginkgo tree planted by Emperor Jianwen himself, and occasionally squirrels can be seen on the tree. After getting off the cableway, we came to the entrance of the Longmen Grottoes in the West Mountain. The Longmen Grottoes in the West Mountain are the terminal of the West Mountain Scenic Area. It starts from Sanqing Pavilion in the north and ends at Datiange in the south. It is the largest and most exquisite Taoist Grottoes in Yunnan. Then I returned to Longmen, halfway up the Western Hills, overlooking the panoramic view of Kunming and feeling the heroic sight of the 500-mile Dianchi Lake running over. No wonder people talk about Kunming. If you haven't climbed the Western Hills, let alone have been to Kunming.
Second stop: 1903 Park
In the afternoon, go to check in 1903 Park (Kunming version of Little France), walk into European towns in one second, and regain childhood. First of all, we enjoyed the long-awaited Yunnan crossing the bridge rice noodles at Dianmanlou, a Dianpai crossing the bridge rice noodle shop directly opposite the "Arc de Triomphe" in the park at 1903. We pushed more than a dozen ingredients into the soup bowl, and it was really fresh. After enjoying the delicious food, we will start our check-in trip to 1903 Park.
Arc de Triomphe: The main gate building of the park reproduces the Arc de Triomphe in Paris 1:1, and European-style photos are taken even outside Kunming.
Yan Youji Bookstore: It's very comfortable to order afternoon tea and read a book by the Yunhu Lake.
Gospel Church: A pure white Gothic church. There was still a wedding when I went! It's perfect for couples to check in.
Dream Federal Park: The magic fairy in my dream has been contracted, and I feel like I have visited the park when I was a child.
Walnut Music Tavern: There are almost everywhere in Walnut, but listening to music on the lake in 1903, watching the fountain performance, and drinking wine, this feeling shouldn't be too good.
In addition to these attractions, there is also a lot of food to eat, as well as many sub-district shopping malls, which is simply great!
Wandering around Kunming for a day, taking a look at Kunming's streetscape, walking along "Jinbi Square", all the way to "Nanqiang Street", and starting to experience Yunnan's nightlife. While eating roadside snacks, roasting tofu, frying potatoes, and pounding chicken feet, I walked into a tavern, sat down to drink some wine, and listened to a live house game.
Third stop: Yunnan Minzu Village
On the last day of the journey, according to the plan, I left the hotel after breakfast in the morning and took a taxi to Yunnan Ethnic Village in less than half an hour to experience the shock brought by the culture of 26 ethnic minority villages in Yunnan.
Yunnan Minzu Village is located on Dianchi Road, Xishan District, Kunming. You don't need a ticket to enter from the gate of Minzu Village's archway. After entering, you will find that it is very similar to the ancient towns of Lijiang and Dali. In fact, this is a commercial street at the entrance of the ethnic village. If you need tickets to enter the ethnic village, it will be more expensive to buy them at the ticket office. It is recommended to book online in advance. We followed the tour route recommended by our friends: (East Gate of Yunnan Ethnic Village--Ancient City of Kunming--Jingpo Village--Hani Village--Dai Village--Yunyan Village--Shui Village--Baita Group--Miao Village--Pumi Village--Nu Village--Lisu Village--Dianchi Grand Stage--Manchu Courtyard--Hui Village--Lahu Village--Mongolian Village--Bai Village--Zhuang Village--Naxi Village--Bai Three Pagoda), you will find that each village will perform performances belonging to its own ethnic group in its own square.
This is a Hani building, but what attracts me is this tofu. When I am tired from walking, I will roast here and eat a Hani charcoal-roasted Jianshui tofu.
Go to the Dai village to see the Dai mascot-peacock.
Spend some money and you can also take an intimate photo with an elephant.
The most important thing is that you can also watch Dai girls dancing with graceful figures and smiles on your face. If you bring your girlfriend, you must pay attention, because ethnic minority girls are really beautiful, so don't affect your feelings.
There are many check-in places here, such as walking the water suspension bridge, the dragon boat next to Dianchi Lake, and the auspicious Dai white pagoda. When you are tired, you can find a pavilion to experience the autumn scenery of Yunnan.
In a few short hours, I exchanged various ethnic cultures with 25 ethnic groups in Yunnan. This was an adventure on the journey of life. Thanks to this small village on the bank of Dianchi Lake, I felt different ethnic humanities here, with songs and dances. Accompanied by the comfortable years of men working and women working without competition from the world, happiness should be so simple.
There are still many delicious food and beautiful scenery in Kunming. My friend gave me a long guide. Unfortunately, it was only a short two days and I couldn't experience it one by one. I look forward to our next reunion.
