Travel in 2022 will not be so easy for people to do whatever they want, but once they do, they can often enjoy the scenic spots to their own advantage without being disturbed. Taking advantage of this relatively peaceful period, we set off for Yunnan to sweep through niche attractions we had not visited before, stroll around and eat leisurely, and have a double feast of sight and taste.

the first day Shenzhen to Kunming

After picking up the car at the airport, I went straight to Dongchuan, wanting to take advantage of the sunset to see the red soil. However, the weather was not strong, the temperature dropped sharply, and the rain and fog continued. The only thing I was happy about that day was dinner. I wanted to go to the kitchen of the hotel store to find something to eat. When the owner was going to dinner that night, we accepted a pot of beef clear soup that had been cooked at home, plus a portion of green vegetables, and we ate happily.

the next day Jiyi Town

The fog became thicker in the morning. The weather forecast showed that the fog would continue. However, I was unwilling to do so, so I drove into the mountains, but the visible distance was no more than 10 meters and I couldn't see anything.

Decided to go to Jiyi to see the Great Rift Valley. The weather was uneven along the way, and the terraces were continuous.

About 20 kilometers away from Jiyi Town, the entire road was built. The road surface was completely dug up, red mud was churning, and the car was stumbling forward in the mud. It was already past 5 o'clock in the afternoon when we reached the town.

The hotel owner was not around and the door was open. Under the enthusiastic arrangements of the stall holder, the hotel was successfully checked in. At night, the shop owner remotely sent blankets and slippers from another person, but the shop owner never showed up. It seems that she is very popular in the town and no matter where she is, nothing is delayed.

Jiyi Town is not big, with two streets running through it in parallel, and there are not many restaurants to choose from. At the intersection of the town, there is a stylish restaurant on the second floor. I remember it is called Guanfuyuan Restaurant. Seeing many local people coming in to eat, we walked up the stone steps and ordered a bunch of ingredients like the locals. Goat meat stewed in clear soup and added scrambled eggs with leek. The bowl of dipping water here is full, which can be eaten as a vegetable.

the third day Jiyi Rift Valley

The Great Rift Valley is a few kilometers away from Jiyi Town. The scenic area is not charged yet, and only a cleaning fee of 10 yuan per person is charged.

Entering the scenic area, walking down the mountain road, and gradually approaching the bottom of the canyon, you will see that the mountain naturally cracks, forming a cliff of nearly 90°. I feel like I can't reach the opposite side, but there is a natural bridge connected it. Due to the needs of villages on both sides, the ancients dug stone ladders from both sides of the canyon down to Tiansheng Bridge, connecting them to form an ancient road. Our tour route is this ancient road, which is just a few kilometers long, and you can visit the entire journey in more than an hour.

Visiting the Jiyi Rift Valley planned to go to Shuicheng River. Unexpectedly, this journey would be even more difficult. The clay made the car slip continuously, and it was already sunset to reach the Shuicheng River Scenic Area without any danger. There was a billboard erected at the entrance of the village, so I went there to stay.

Coincidentally, the shop owner was not there either. He shouted for a long time, and the hostess came running over, saying that someone was marrying a daughter in the village today and the whole village was attending the wedding. We had a bumpy journey and wanted to stew chicken soup to calm our nerves. The hostess did not say a word. Come, let's catch chickens with me. The Zhu family's courtyard building is in a zigzag layout. Behind the courtyard, there is a large private plot. Vegetables and fruit trees are well managed, and chickens are raised freely in the yard. Looking at many apples still hanging on the tree, owners, you can pick them if you want to eat them. Enjoy it. I helped kill the chicken, cooked it at the owner's house, and continued to attend the wedding. Before leaving, I told you to go dancing that night! Looking forward?

Taking advantage of the chicken stewing, we can stroll around the stockade. There are many farmhouses with simple customs. It is very pleasant to go in to drink tea and chat.

I saw the courtyard where the wedding was held and heard that the water banquet would be held for three days. Today is the first day. There are several professional chefs. The whole village is gathered here. It is really lively.

At eight o'clock in the evening, the hostess asked us to go to the family where we married our daughter for a dance and a Yi dance. Just follow.

In the middle of the yard, a group of elderly people surrounded the stove, roasting potatoes and chatting. The two leaders danced happily while playing musical instruments, and slowly everyone began to join in. There are also several stoves around the yard. If you don't dance, a few people gather around the stove to chat, roast potatoes, eat peanuts, and eat melon seeds. Let's dance together!

the fourth day Shuicheng River Chengjiang

Breakfast is boiled noodles with chicken soup left over from last night, served with side dishes, making it comfortable!

We called a battery cart at the entrance of the Zhu family courtyard to go to the scenic spot. The driver and tour guide first took us to Wuding Danxia Secret Land Water City River Huludong Water City River. The unique thing about the Water City River is that the wide water surface flows shallowly on the flat and hard river bed. The vegetation on both sides of the river bed is dense, accompanied by several different types of waterfalls, making it an ideal holy place for camping friends.

Follow the path in the valley, turn a few corners to reach the gourd cave. Climb more than 20 meters to reach the entrance of the cave. This is a huge open red sandstone cave, with a gourd seemingly dug out in the middle. The huge wall of the cave is washed by flowing water, like a mural. This is the most representative landscape of the local Danxia landform.

After playing, the battery car sent us back to the courtyard to pack our luggage and bid farewell to the hostess. The owner gave us a bottle of mushroom oil as a gift. I really liked it.

Driving to Kunming Airport, I was lucky to pick up my sisters. The weather cleared away from the past and cleared up! Go directly to Fuxian Lake in Chengjiang. After checking in Guanglong Town, I went to Red Beach to have a look.

The surface of Fuxian Lake is blue and as wide as the sea. There were only the four of us on the entire beach. Under the sunshine, the beach was light rust red, but in the drone's lens, it was really amazing pink, without filters!

Chasing the sunset all the way to the sea of flowers, the purple lavender is still blooming, and the colorful flowers compete for development, just like a rainbow falling into a field.

the fifth day Maitreya

I was scheduled to watch the sunrise early in the morning, but everyone else was here except for those who wanted to see it yesterday who didn't get up.

Today's itinerary was relatively relaxed, and in the morning I wandered aimlessly around Fuxian Lake.

Passing by Xiaoman Bookstore, hidden in the Vanke Sales Center, I didn't expect it to be all online celebrity check-in points. The salesperson asked if we needed explanation and then generously let us travel freely. The environment here is quiet and pleasant, the sculptures are novel and avant-garde, and we sit in the long desk. Look up and look far away and quietly experience the pure beauty of Fuxian Lake.

Lunch was at the Muda Hotel in Chengjiang Old City. This was definitely a place for local people to eat. It was delicious and inexpensive. Semi-finished products are placed in the center of the restaurant, and they are processed with a wave of your finger when ordering. I was deeply impressed by the stir-fried taro with pickled cabbage. The taro powder and glutinous rice, the fragrance of pickled cabbage and some red peppers are the perfect partner.

the sixth day Mengzi

Wandering to Mengzi, Mengzi was one of the earliest 24 thousand-year-old Gu County to be established in Yunnan. In the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China, it was the largest port for foreign trade in Yunnan Province. Yunnan's first customs, first telegraph bureau, first post office, first foreign bank, first private railway, first foreign-funded enterprise, first consulate in Yunnan, first thermal power station, etc. Many of the first were born here.

French buildings abound, small streets and alleys are full of exotic atmosphere, and even the style of street cafes exceeds our understanding. The shop owner was exclusive to the old-fashioned bicycle shop owner. The clerk also showed us a video of the shop owner stepping on a bicycle.

On the side of the coffee shop is the museum of Southwest Associated University. In 1938, the School of Grammar of Southwest Associated University moved here. The museum completely records this unusual history.

Bise Village is located in the center of the Yunnan-Vietnam Railway. When it was opened to traffic in 1909, Bise Village was the first first-class station.

This French-designed building with red tiles, yellow walls and wooden shutters is quite elegant. Under the sunset, the already outstanding station looks even more colorful.

The steel frame support of the station is the same as the steel used in the Eiffel Tower, provided by the same steel factory. Although mottled, it still reveals the pride of more than a hundred years ago.

Mengzi is also the birthplace of crossing the bridge rice noodles. Try the authentic crossing the bridge rice noodles. In addition to vegetarian dishes such as green vegetables, bean sprouts, fungus, white leaves, mushrooms, etc., there are also meat dishes such as fresh shrimp, fish, sausage, ham, beef, and pork ribs. In particular, each bowl has chrysanthemum petals, and the cooked chicken soup is added. The rice noodles are self-cooked on one side. A bowl of delicious rice noodles is successfully made.

the seventh day Hani

This time is not the best period to watch the Hani Terrace, but it does not affect our mood to play at all. On the road leading to the terraces, ducks are playing in the water in the paddy fields, and plantains are unimaginably cheap.

The mountain road leading into Eagle's Mouth is rugged and narrow, and the construction of B & Bs on both sides is in full swing.

Dinner at Hani Tianyun Restaurant, which includes ginkgo pork tripe, twice-cooked pork, flavored tofu (fried with pig blood), Hani dipped water chicken, cauliflower bacon, and red rice. The accommodation conditions of Yuanzhimeng Hotel at Village Entrance are also quite good.

the eighth day Jianshui

Taking photos in Qingkou Village early in the morning, I met the handsome brother's birthday.

In the afternoon, we went to Jianshui and headed straight to the ant workshop. This is Luo Xu's next work after the "Indigenous Nest" and the "Kaleidoscope" Dongfeng Yun Town on the outskirts of Kunming. This architectural space, which looks like ants burrowing into caves, runs through the context of Jianshui Purple Pottery Culture. In the pink space, sunlight shines into the building through the small holes in the brick wall. The light and shadow are mottled, making people unable to help but freeze the beauty of this moment. The autumn sunshine seeps in through the blank holes in the house, and the colors jump, making it dreamy, warm and independent.

Fortunately, we didn't delay the Seventeen-Arch Bridge to watch the sunset. The Seventeen-Arch Bridge was built during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. Three holes were built first, and fourteen more holes were built to connect it during the Daoguang period, so it is commonly known as the "Seventeen-Arch Bridge". There are three-story pavilions on the bridge, with glazed tiles on the roof and a pavilion on each end. The ground of the bridge is made of polished bluestone.

In ancient times, it was called Lin 'an. The city was built in the early years of the Tang Dynasty. It has a history of more than 1200 years. It was once an important town in the southwest, with merchants and humanities gathered. Many ancient buildings are still preserved today.

Jianshui Chaoyang Gate can be called the "prototype" of Beijing Tiananmen Square. It was originally the Dongcheng Gate Building built in Shuicheng during the Ming Dynasty and was built by bricks and expanded from the remaining Nanzhao Tucheng. Chaoyang Gate, also known as Yinghui Gate, has a triple eaves and mountain roof. It has been rebuilt seven times and preserved to this day. It is a well-deserved landmark building in Jianshui City.

There is an ancient well called Daban Well, also known as Puboquan, located outside the gate of Jianshui Ancient City. This well was dug in the early years of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty by soldiers led by Xu Boyang, the general of the city. Therefore, there is a saying among the people that "the Daban Well was first enclosed and Lin 'an City was later built." There is an endless stream of people coming here to collect water every day.

Jianshui Tofu is well-known. There is a Banjing Tofu Factory next to Dabanjing. There is a workshop downstairs and a tofu snack shop upstairs. You can eat soy milk and bean curd for 5 yuan per person. There are also various types of fried tofu. Baozhi tofu is the most delicious.

Wulong Lake Park has water soil forests and a lotus island full of tropical style.

I returned to the Seventeen-Arch Bridge in the evening. After the light rain, I waited for the small train to slowly arrive. The meter-gauge yellow-skinned small train is full of nostalgia. It is accompanied by the loud sound of the whistle, as if it has traveled through time.

Dinner tasted quite popular to grandma. It seemed quite popular. She sat down at 7 o'clock and had already bought many dishes. Grandma's snowflake fish, Lijiang purple potatoes, Chuncheng vegetarian stir-fried, stir-fried lotus root diced, bitter vegetable soup, wheat cake and bait cakes. Although it was a little vegetarian, it tasted great.

the tenth day PU 'er

Today, my sisters went to Lijiang, and we took Pu 'er. We had fun and laughter along the way, and we also had travel photo treatment. I really couldn't part with it, so I'll make another appointment next time.

From the afternoon to Pu 'er, Pu' er tea is famous all over the world, but Pu 'er City cannot feel the slightest bit of tea information. There is no tea factory, tea shop, and clothing stores on the street. It really lives up to Pu' er's name. Follow the small streets and alleys to Shenji Stinky Tofu for Cooking Fish. This shop is located in the city center and hidden in alleys in residential areas. The shop was opened by a group of young people. The environment was simple, but they were not used to the taste.

Day 11 Nuogang

Since Xishuangbanna has been closed, the southernmost point of this trip can only reach Nuogang Laozhai in Jingmai Mountain in Lancang County.

There are tea trees and tea primary processing factories on both sides of the road. The source of Pu 'er tea is here. Those familiar tea names, such as Laobanzhang, Wuliangshan, and Iceland, are all place names nearby.

The rest stop on the highway is so luxurious that it should be a supporting facility of the hotel.

Nuogang Lao Village is embedded in an intermountain basin and surrounded by ancient tea trees. The village completely preserves the traditional pattern and historical features of the Dai village in Jingmai Mountain, with the center of the village as the center and a centripetal layout. A trail was shown on the observation deck at the halfway level. Walking on it, you can see different angles of the stockade.

Watching the Dai elderly people wearing traditional costumes chatting across the bars, accompanied by sparks of fireworks, I felt the tranquility and comfort that were different from urban life.

Wengji Village is located in Mangjing Village. The main ethnic group is the Bulang nationality. The entire ancient village is built against a mountain, and there is a Buddhist temple at the gate of the village.

It is also surrounded by ancient tea trees, but the buildings are different from those of the Dai people. The roofs are mostly single eaves, while the Dai people are mostly double eaves.

The main ethnic group in Manggeng Village is Dai. There is a Manggeng Buddhist Temple built on the platform near the center of the village. It is said that this is the earliest Buddhist temple built in Jingmai Mountain.

Arriving in Lancang City, I continued to forage at night. The Old Street Cattle Foot Shop ordered beef foot soup and beef steak. The "beef foot soup" is made from cow hooves. It is a large bowl of meat and skin, rich in collagen. "Steak Hoo" is very unique just by looking at the name. It is actually beef stew, with millet spicy, chopped celery, mint, cilantro, etc. It's enjoyable to call it!

Lincang was rated as the best livable city in China, which truly lives up to its name. The streets are lined with trees, and in the evening, take a walk in Yulong Lake Park. There are several white marble bridges built in Yulong Lake, which is a good place for wedding photography.

Day 13 Ailao Mountain

Shimen Gorge located in Jiasa Town is a strange sight deep in the dense forest of Ailao Mountain. Shimen Gorge is named because of the natural stone doors where cliffs on both sides of the canyon face each other. The stream is crystal clear, and you can see green vines, old trees, strange rocks and clear springs everywhere in the mountains. Big trees shaped like dragons and pythons are intertwined with vines.

The drop from the first stone door to the last is no more than 100 meters, and the last "door" looks very similar to the ship lock on the dam.

Go back to the farmhouse on the mountain to stay, order the local chicken soup, and go along the cliff path to see Yanziya Waterfall with peace of mind. Although it is far away, you can still feel the momentum of the waterfall. It should be a good place for warriors to walk.

On the 14th day, Gasa Chengjiang River

The "sea of clouds and sunrise" landscape of Ailao Mountain in Xinping can be called "a unique sea of clouds in central Yunnan." The best viewing period is from mid-to-late November to March of the following year. The time difference is not enough for a few days. It is full of fog in the morning and can only be missed perfectly.

Longxi Shizu Manor is the home of Li Runzhi, the last successor of the imperial chieftain of Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty. The manor has a medieval European castle-style architectural style. Strong wall foundation, tall exterior walls, majestic steeple gates. This is the only provincial-level cultural relics protection unit in Xinping County.

Walking in the direction of Kunming, you can see that Nan 'en Waterfall is located on the side of the road. I am surprised that the waterfall with a drop of up to 100 meters has not been enclosed in the scenic area. Listening to the roar of the waterfall, I experience the poem of "flying down 3,000 feet, which is suspected to be the Milky Way Falling Nine Days".

For lunch, we were in the Caosu Yellow Cattle Soup Pot on Gasahua Street. Add a green vegetable to the clear stewed beef soup, and make it half of the dish.

Arriving in Chengjiang in the evening, I returned to the Mud Restaurant again. I added stir-fried pork liver to the same dish and ate it with gusto.

Day 15 Fuxian Lake

Day 16 Kunming

The Laoyuhe Wetland Park in the east of Kunming Dianchi Lake is best known for its aquatic forest. The patches of metasequoia are reflected in the lake, and the sun shines through the leaves and projects colorful colors. The park has clear water and a quiet environment, away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

It is paved with a wooden plank road that allows you to see Metasequoia up close and admire Dianchi Lake.

Along the Dianchi Lake, you can see many wetland parks, some of which can be camped and set up tents. I envy Kunming citizens for having so many places for leisure and walking.

Go to Haigeng Dam to see red-billed gulls. It's not time yet. In a few days, this place will definitely be the world of red-billed gulls.
