In the spring of March, during the best spring season, the three brother and sister couple boarded a flight to Kunming, the spring city. The time was 6:55-10:40 a.m. on March 16, 2019.
After getting off the plane, we took a seven-person commercial vehicle booked in advance on "Yihi.com". This-the Cloud A5GX72 Silver Chase G10, has been with us through thick and thin for 15 days.
The entire journey was dominated by two men among us. The car follows the goal in my heart. I have to say that this way of travel is very free, comfortable and convenient, especially suitable for us who are 60 years old on average.
Arrive at Xingyi Wanfeng Forest in southwestern Guizhou at 6 pm that day
Early the next morning, the light rain slowed down and rushed, and the Wanfeng Forest in the misty rain opened its hearts unsparingly, allowing us tourists who had come all the way from the haze to breathe deeply and clear the lungs well. We live in the stockade on the right side of the picture, Qifeng Inn with a mid-view view.
In the misty and misty forest, stars are vaguely visible around the moon.
Wanfeng Forest is a typical karst landform composed of more than 20,000 peaks, hence the name-Wanfeng Forest. The scattered hills stand in turn, the Buyi Village has an idyllic scenery.
The Eight Trigrams Field full of charm
After Xu Xiake, a great traveler in the Ming Dynasty, visited the Wanfeng Forest in Xingyi, he left a poem of admiration and praise: "There are so many famous mountains in the world, and only this place has become a peak forest"! Tickets for Wanfenglin are 60 yuan in off-season and 70 yuan in peak season. They are free for people over 60 years old. Scenic area car is 50 yuan.
We must eat fish in sour soup when we arrive in Guizhou. Sichuan's hot pot is spicy, while Guizhou's hot pot is hot, sour and hot. Wan Fenglin's sour soup fish completely conquered us.
On the morning of March 18, we arrived at Pingba, Anshun.
It was a temporary decision to enjoy the cherry blossoms. I wanted to go to Luoping to see the rapeseed flowers. At a dinner in Wanfenglin, the boss told us that the rapeseed flowers in Luoping had expired. Let's go to see the cherry blossoms in Pingba. As the saying goes, the cherry blossoms bloom in March, so how can we not go?
Pingba has more than 26,000 acres of cherry blossom base. This is by far the largest cherry blossom garden we have seen.
The Cherry Blossom Farm does not charge and is open during the lush period. It is said that there are many people going to admire flowers on Saturdays and Sundays. We arrived on Monday. It is rare that there are few people and the weather is sunny. It has been rainy and rainy since the 16th.
An inadvertent reminder while staying in Pingba made a new change in our travel plans. Pingba is only more than 10 kilometers away from Zhijin County and can be reached by car in more than an hour. Zhijin Cave was originally a plan to go to southeastern Guizhou in the second half of the year, but it is close at hand and should not be missed.
Arrived at Zhijin Cave, Bijie City, Guizhou Province on March 18
Zhijin Cave Guest Hall--Sun and Moon Shines Together
Arriving at Zhijin Cave at about 1 p.m., the first thing I felt when I entered the entrance was big and wide. When I walked down more than a dozen steps, I suddenly looked back and found two sky caves, one on the left and one on the right, hanging above the huge cave, as if The two beams of golden light entering the sky echoed from afar and integrated with the water vapor permeating the cave, highlighting the wonderful artistic conception of the sun and the moon shining together.
Giant wall flowing stone--beautiful mountains and rivers
There is a huge karst landscape in the cave, nearly 100 meters high and more than 200 meters wide. It is formed by the fusion of many stone pillars, stalagmites, stone curtains, and stalactites. It looks like a rough sculpture and a beautiful picture of mountains and rivers. It has extraordinary momentum.
The two jade trees in front are dripping into a plate, and the two sisters behind are talking eloquently. Sister Yushu is a pagoda pine shaped stalagmite in Zhijin Cave, which is as white as jade at close range.
The peculiar waterfall-shaped stone curtain landscape-the battle between dragon and tiger
Taisong-shaped stalagmite-mother-in-law and daughter-in-law are deeply in love. They look like their daughter-in-law is holding a child and massaging their mother-in-law's back. The image is realistic.
Tallinn Palace-like a magnificent underground palace
Zhijin Cave-Yinyu Palace
The Silver Rain Tree in the Silver Rain Palace is a rare flower-shaped transparent crystal that rises to 17 meters from a white jade tray and stands tall and graceful. The deposition of time has caused the drip discs to overlap, forming various strange-shaped columnar stalagmite stone petals. This is the most beautiful tarson-shaped stalagmite found in the world.
Tower-shaped stalagmite-the pearl in your palm
Zhijin Cave-Overlord Helmet
The Overlord Helmet is 14 meters high and shines in golden light, like the helmet of the ancient Chu Overlord. According to records, this huge composite stalagmite consists of a cap stalagmite at the lower part and a slender rod-shaped stalagmite at the upper part. It is formed in such a shape, indicating that the early dripping water contained rich material, most of which flowed down in a linear manner, and the sedimentation rate was fast. In the later stage, the deposition process in which the matter in the dripping water decreases and disperses, and the dripping speed slows down.
The Overlord Helmet stands in front of a pool of water, with its clear reflection, fully displaying the deep and dreamy scenery.
Zhijin Cave Exit-Leizi Cave
When immersive, it seems to take us back to the ancient time tunnel. In this karst cave lined with strange rocks, the lifelike sisters Yushu, mother-in-law and daughter-in-law are deeply in love; the majestic mountains and rivers are beautiful and have hundreds of feet hanging curtains; the resplendent Tallinn Palace and Silver Rain Palace... These geological wonders with myriad forms of nature are piled up or penetrated by weak water droplets that have flowed for more than 200 million years to form the static beauty of various stalactite rocks. They are really exquisite underground art palaces.
When you return from Huangshan Mountain, you don't look at the mountain, and there is no grotto-heaven outside Zhijin Cave. This unplanned trip really lived up to what we saw.
Tickets for Zhijin Cave are 110 yuan in the peak season and 100 yuan in the off-season. The round-trip tour bus from the scenic area is 40 yuan. Those over 60 years old are free but the tour fare is unavoidable. The entire tour lasted more than 2 hours.
In this Yunnan-Guizhou route planning and itinerary strategy, we abandoned popular attractions such as Xishuangbanna, and included Guizhou Qinglong 24 (Dian-Guizhou Highway), Stilwell Highway (Dian-Myanmar Highway), Songshan Battle Site, Nanyang Mechanical Workers Memorial Hall, National War Cemetery, etc. are included in this itinerary. The idea is very simple. If you go to Yunnan-Guizhou, you must walk through the anti-Japanese war line of those days. This idea was put forward by his wife and received full response from everyone.
When we arrived at the scenic spot at 8 a.m. on March 19, except for the ticket collectors, the entire scenic spot was empty. We were the first group of people, and we didn't see a few people coming in until we left. It shows that this is not a place for ordinary tourists to check in. However, it has a rich history and memories of war fires. Tickets over 60 years old are free in the scenic area.
Qinglong County, Guizhou--24 Daokui (Dian-Guizhou Highway)
According to data, during World War II, after international aid supplies to China arrived in Kunming via the Yunnan-Myanmar Highway, they had to pass through the 24-turn Yunnan-Guizhou Line before being delivered to the front line and Chongqing. Route 24 turns into the main traffic artery of the China-Myanmar-India Theater.
The straight-line distance from the foot of the mountain to the top of the mountain is about 350 meters, and the vertical height is about 260 meters. It is built in an "S" shape along the mountain on a hillside with an inclination of about 60 degrees. It winds and spirals, and the total length is about 4 kilometers.
Standing on the observation deck, the foggy 24 turns snaking like a huge dragon winding up the rugged mountain road. The silent mountain road in front of you was empty of vehicles and pedestrians, but during the Anti-Japanese War, it was like the Yunnan-Myanmar Highway is the busiest transportation route for aid to China.
Our car wanted to try walking this unusual road. Unfortunately, the relevant departments only allowed people to pass through, so the car stayed behind. It was a 4-kilometer round-trip and 8-kilometer trip and then came back to pick up the car. We had to give up crossing this famous Anti-Japanese War highway.
At this point, we will bid farewell to Guizhou and head to Yunnan Honghe to see the Hani terraces.
Arrived at Yuanyang County of the Hani Yi people at 7:20 pm on the fourth day of travel on March 19. Food and accommodation here were average, but the terraces were beautiful.
Terrace in the morning light
Like a beautiful sand painting
Terrace fields are built in an orderly manner according to the shape
A pleasing landscape painting
Layered terraces are built next to the mountains, and the soft and beautiful curves are unobstructed. During my two days in Hani, the terraces were spectacular and the visual enjoyment was unmatched. This is the crystallization of the wisdom of the Hani people who have worked for generations. Like real earth art!
Tickets for Yuanyang Terrace Scenic Area are 70 yuan, and those over 60 years old are 35 yuan.
At 2 p.m. on March 22, we arrived at Wanding, Ruili, Yunnan-the Memorial Hall for the Return of Nanyang Overseas Chinese Mechanical Workers to Anti-Japanese War.
Chen Jiageng, leader of overseas Chinese in Nanyang
After the July 7th Incident in 1937, the Anti-Japanese War broke out in an all-round way. Most important ports along China's coast were captured, and international military aid transportation was on the verge of being cut off. The "Nanyang Overseas Chinese Association for Relieving Refugees in the Motherland" headed by patriotic overseas Chinese leader Chen Jiageng issued the call of the motherland. Starting from February 1939, 3200 Nanyang mechanical workers returned from Vietnam and Myanmar across the sea in nine batches. Nearly one-third of the military vehicles on the Yunnan-Myanmar Road were activated and fought side by side with about 6000 domestic mechanics.
women do not give way
On the extremely difficult Yunnan-Myanmar Highway, the mechanics endured unprecedented war hardships such as enemy aircraft bombing, epidemic disease and vehicle overtaking. On this 1146-kilometer Yunnan-Myanmar Highway, 500,000 tons of domestic and foreign materials were transported for the anti-Japanese War.
Mechanic Oath: I will obey the discipline of my country with sincerity, and support the interests of the nation... One-third of the 3200 Nanyang mechanical workers are sleeping on the Yunnan-Myanmar Highway, the lifeline of the Anti-Japanese War.
I have only heard of the history of Nanyang Mechanical Workers, but when I integrate my body and soul into the memorial hall, witness their face-to-face suicide notes and listen to their stories, it is enough to make people shed tears and remember them for a lifetime. They are innocent children and heroes!
After leaving the Nanyang Mechanical Workers Memorial Hall, we began to search for the most important part of the trip-the Diannan-Myanmar Highway. The car stopped and searched but failed to point us in the right direction. Finally, after a restaurant owner pointed us out, we finally found the Yunnan-Myanmar Highway located on Huandong Road, Wanding Town, Ruili City.
This intersection, now known as the "Wanding Border Pass Cultural Park", is the Diannan-Myanmar Highway that was famous for the Anti-Japanese War. In recognition of General Stilwell's contribution to China's War of Resistance, it was named the Stilwell Highway.
The construction of the Yunnan-Myanmar Highway began from November 1937 to August 1938. When this road was built, people of all ethnic groups in dozens of counties camped thousands of miles with their own food rations and luggage to fight for the anti-Japanese war. Only when there is a country can there be a home. This simple concept is firmly rooted in the hearts of every ordinary person in the road construction army. According to statistics, of the 200,000 road repair army, more than 3000 people died during the construction process from blasting, falling cliffs, falling rivers, landslides and malaria. The people in front fell and the people behind followed. In just 8 months, the highway was completed and opened to traffic.
At that time, after the feat of road construction was reported in detail by the international media, many international friends praised it as a "highway line carved with your fingers."
Tanshi Road is the Diannan-Myanmar Highway at the foot of Songshan. This section of the Diannan-Myanmar Highway is the section in Baoshan. It has been renovated and is the most complete section still maintained.
Tanshi pavements are irregular stones. These stones are made by dividing huge rocks, roughing them, laying them on sand cushions, and rolling them. At that time, the 200,000 army who cut mountains and paved the way used extremely simple tools, hands and beliefs to complete the smooth stone road forged by blood and sweat.
We have stood on this road for a long time, watching the road extend into the distance, full of respect for this epic road built by the flesh and blood of our predecessors during the Anti-Japanese War!
It was nearly dusk when we arrived at Songshan on March 22. At this time, there was no one in the direction of the Songshan Battle Site. I am afraid that it would be impossible to enter the mountain without a guide. While we were hesitating, a young woman in front of us slowly walked towards us. After knowing our intention of coming, she readily agreed to take us up the mountain, haha! We were so lucky that she was from Songshan and Xiao Yu, a professional commentator on this period of history.
This big tree suffered great hardships during the Battle of Songshan. The big tree was bombarded by thousands of shells. After the battle, 46 warheads and shrapnel were taken from the trunk. After the Battle of Songshan, it survived tenaciously. The crater left by the trunk is a mark of that tragic history.
From the observation deck, you can vaguely see the Yunnan-Myanmar Highway at the foot of Songshan Mountain, and opposite it is the Huitong Bridge that spans the Nujiang River.
According to Xiao Yu, a commentator at the Songshan site,"The Battle of Songshan was very tragic. When the Japanese occupied Songshan, they emptied the main peak highland. The arsenal and fortifications of the building extended in all directions and crisscrossed. Armored tanks could drive from the bottom of the mountain to the main bunker on the mountain. In three months, our army's aircraft and artillery were unable to attack for a long time. However, if the Battle of Songshan cannot be won, the throat of the Yunnan-Myanmar Highway will not be able to be opened, and a large amount of aid materials will not be able to be supplied to various battlefields through the Yunnan-Myanmar Highway. If the crazy Japanese army crosses the Nu River and expands the battlefield to Kunming and Chongqing, no one knows the consequences..."
In the end, Zhiyu adopted a special method: tunnel blasting, which means digging a tunnel at the bottom of the mountain to the bottom of the Japanese fortress and blowing it up with explosives. On the morning of August 20, 1944, when the engineers pressed the button, the Japanese fortifications and the main bunker collapsed in the deafening sound of blasting, and the main peak of Songshan was completely recovered after 96 days of bloody fighting.
The Battle of Songshan lasted for 3 months and 3 days, starting from June 4, 1944 and ending on September 7. There were more than 10 major battles and hundreds of minor battles before and after. The Chinese army completely wiped out more than 1260 Japanese troops, but it also paid a heavy price. 7675 officers and soldiers were killed and injured. It was a famous battle that kicked off the strategic counterattack against Japan.
This is the only cemetery left after the Battle of Songshan in 1944. There are only a list of 672 soldiers killed in battle. Over the past 70 years, the tombstones have been weathered, and only the names of more than 20 martyrs killed in battle can be clearly seen. The remains of more than 7,000 expeditionary troops are scattered all over the Songshan battlefield. Every inch of land, there are no tombs or inscriptions, is integrated with this mountain range where fires blend, so Songshan is: a famous battlefield and an unknown hero!
The horse feeding water in those days is now the release pool. In the sunset, I can't imagine that the horse-feeding pool on the battlefield was so quiet and beautiful today...
The Battle of Songshan was conquered in 96 days and had 96 steps. Each step symbolizes every long and cruel day of attacking Songshan.
Taking heavy steps, after climbing the 96th step, the solemn and solemn sculpture group of the Expeditionary Force came into view. At that moment, my soul was shocked and tears flowed down my cheeks.
The Chinese Expeditionary Force Sculpture Group is located a few hundred meters south of the main peak of Songshan, the main battlefield of the Anti-Japanese War in Western Yunnan, echoing the ruins of the Songshan Anti-Japanese Battlefield.
September 3, 2013 is the Victory Day of the World Anti-Fascist War. Mr. Li Chunhua, creator of the Chinese Expeditionary Force Sculpture Group, completed all the sculptures on this day. It showed the world the heroic attitude of the Chinese army in World War II and the main battlefield in the East. It also comforted countless heroic souls!
Li Mi, in the phalanx of generals of the Chinese Expeditionary Force, was on Taiping Street, Tengchong County, Yunnan Province, and was then lieutenant general of the National Revolutionary Army and deputy commander of the Eighth Army in the counterattack in western Yunnan.
Chinese Expeditionary Force-Veterans Array
Chinese Expeditionary Force-Female Soldiers
Chinese Expeditionary Force-Child Soldiers Square Array
Chinese Expeditionary Force-Warhorse Square Array
When night was about to fall, we left the Songshan Battlefield Site and the Chinese Expeditionary Force Sculpture Group. During the week-long trip, everyone's hearts were very heavy. They were moved and shocked by the heroic and unyielding spirit of the Nanyang mechanical workers, the people of all ethnic groups in Yunnan and Guizhou, and the Chinese Expeditionary Force during the Anti-Japanese War. They lamented the magnificent mountains and rivers today, and thanked their predecessors for their dedication yesterday!
At 9 pm on March 22, we will arrive at the next destination-Tengchong
The Tengchong Repulse Bay Scenic Hotel, which I visited here for fame, deserves its reputation. Standing on the Repulse Bay Observation Deck, the fog shrouded in the morning light is like a fairyland. Who would have thought that the quiet small town at this time would be full of war and scars 75 years ago?
In Tengchong, we are going to the War Cemetery, which we have heard a lot about, and we are also going to the Volcano Geopark and Atai Park.
On the morning of March 23, I came to the Tengchong Geothermal Volcano Scenic Area of the National Geopark with a nervous mood. Why are you nervous? Because it was cloudy and foggy that day, hot air balloons were not sold for safety reasons.
I always feel a little regretful to miss out on a hot air balloon when I am in Tengchong. Thank you to the owner of Repulse Bay for suggesting that we go there and try our luck.
Haha, I was really lucky in this try. There were just six people in a basket. It only took more than a minute to put the basket, ignite, and take off the hot air balloon. When looking up at the hot air balloon in the sky from the ground and overlooking the volcanic geological park from the sky, it took less than ten minutes to rise and fall. During each ascent and descent, I felt that the world was huge and the people and scenery were too small.
The crater seen in the air is the most regular truncated conical crater in the world. Behind it are seven volcanoes, five of which are in a straight line. The fog is very heavy that day, and you can basically see several crater clearly on a sunny day.
Volcanic rock left behind after a volcanic eruption. Tickets for Volcano Geopark are 35 yuan, 17.5 yuan for people over 60 years old, and 280 yuan for hot air balloons per person.
Tengchong, Baoshan--Western Yunnan Anti-Japanese War Memorial Hall (National War Cemetery)
March 23, noon at the National War Cemetery
On August 2, 1944, the Chinese Expeditionary Force began a general attack on Tengchong. By September 14, 1944, after more than a month of bloody fighting, Tengchong was completely recovered. Among them, the Japanese occupied Tengchong for more than two years and built more than 30 key fortresses in the city. The fortresses were dotted in all streets and alleys, and the trenches extended in all directions. The expeditionary army took down the entire Tengchong Japanese in a desperate way. The huge and solid fortress. Due to the fierce battle, the expeditionary force suffered more than 18000 casualties. This battle was called "Scorched Earth Tengge".
The park is lush, peaceful and solemn, with huge alarm bells hanging high to warn future generations. There are plaques written by everyone: Martyrs Temple, Heroic Spirit of River Mountain, azure blood for thousands of years, and righteousness of heaven and earth to comfort the heroic soul!
During the Anti-Japanese War in Western Yunnan, the Battle of Tengchong, the Battle of Songshan, and the Battle of Longling sacrificed 100,000 Chinese Expeditionary Forces and 200,000 casualties, as well as huge sacrifices of every inch of mountains and rivers and an inch of blood, in exchange for the final victory of the war. Remembering the dead spirit, thank you!
The Allied War Memorial, like all sacrificed expeditionary troops, deserves our remembrance.
Joseph Stilwell joined hands with the Chinese people to resist Japan during the War of Resistance. Premier Zhou praised him as the best soldier.
The memorial hall ends with displaying this "Key to the Songshan Arsenal" to warn future generations not to forget the tragic history of the motherland and the countless heroes. Always remember it.
Tengchong, a small border town in northwest China, suffered severe war hardships during World War II and the national spirit of the expeditionary army and the people who would rather die than surrender have been recorded in history. There was an endless stream of people who came to pay homage to the National War Cemetery that day.
Tengchong, Baoshan--Heshun Ancient Town
At 5 pm on March 23, we arrived at Heshun Ancient Town.
Heshun Town is located 4 kilometers southwest of Tengchong County. It was named "Yangwendun" in ancient times. Because the small river runs around the village, it was renamed "Heshun". Later, it means "Shi He and Min Shun." Elegance became its current name. It is now called Heshun Town. The town has a population of more than 6000, and there are more than 12000 Heshun people living overseas. It is a famous hometown of overseas Chinese in Yunnan. Admission to Heshun is 80 yuan. If you stay at the inn, you can get free of charge. If you want to evade the ticket, you can only enter the town later, but you can only watch the night view.
What a beautiful signboard information wall, a bit like a LOGO, the curve extends for tens of meters, and it is full of art.
The famous Heshun Library is one of the largest rural libraries in China.
Wanlouzi is an exquisite ancient dwelling. Because the building is built along the curve of the roadway, Heshun people vividly call it Wanlouzi. The Residential Buildings Museum was not open that day. It is said that the Wanlouzi Residential Buildings are a courtyard compound with three entrances, three rooms and one wall. They are all carefully carved buildings as a whole. According to Xiao Wang of Repulse Bay Hotel, the walls of residential houses are made of volcanic stone. It is made of hammer after hammer and chisel after chisel. It is extremely strong.
Haha, you can't expect it but you can't reach it. Stone gambling is gambling on luck. A seemingly ordinary stone. When cut open, good luck may be priceless, and bad luck may be worthless. There were people walking on the street and no one was eager to try.
I ran into a little squirrel on the way
Atami Park Kitty
Baoshan Tengchong Rehai Scenic Area at 9 a.m. on March 24
The inside of the pot rolls and boils, the heat outside the pot is steaming, and the water temperature reaches 96.6 ° C. The large steamer on the right is used for steaming eggs. Each cage of 4 raw eggs costs 10 yuan. Hehe, we set the price for 8 yuan. They are sold everywhere outside the scenic area. Tickets for Atami are 50 yuan, and those over 60 years old are 25 yuan.
There is a hot spring here due to a special geographical phenomenon-Sulfur Spring. Sulfur soap made of sulfur is popular in the scenic area. It has a bactericidal effect and has certain preventive and auxiliary treatment effects on some skin diseases. It is said that the sulfur soap in Tengchong Rehai is the best and purest.
The scenery of Atai is over at noon. When going to Dali, we will rest in the Lujiangba Service Area in Baoshan to replenish our meals and water. We will depart for Dali at 2 o'clock. This is a great service area for traveling over the past few years. Like it!
Arrive in Dali Ancient Town at 6 pm on March 24
Dali's brightly lit city that never sleeps
Dali Chinese Coffee Centenary Store, Yunnan is very famous for its Arabica coffee. Don't underestimate it. Even the famous Starbucks shelves have Yunnan Arabica coffee beans. Try it first and buy it later. Don't miss it.
Dali is famous for its flower cakes, and almost all tourists have to recite them back.
There is a restaurant in the night market. It is so humorous. The handsome owner is playing with his mobile phone, and the handsome dog is sitting up to welcome guests.
Super cute little tambourine girl.
March 25 Erhai Lake
Erhai Lake is the birthplace of a generation of dance artists.
When visiting Erhai Lake, the sky was not very clear, and it felt a little gray when taking pictures, but it still couldn't stop the good mood of the day.
In the quiet Erhai Lake, people's lives are very slow. It is suitable for people who are a little bourgeois and a little romantic to leisurely drink coffee or sip Pu 'er. There are also tourists who come from afar who compare it to poetry and distance in their hearts.
I came to Lijiang on March 26 and went to the city first. I have to say how wise it was not to stay in the ancient city. The inn below is an inn outside the ancient city but very close to the ancient city-Sunshine Inn.
There is no exquisite decoration in the courtyard, but pots and stamens make the courtyard full of life. Half of the upstairs and downstairs of the courtyard are given to guests, and half of the owner lives for three generations. During my three days in Lijiang, I felt like I was home every day. Moreover, the inn is clean and tidy, and the price is much cheaper than in the ancient city. In September this year, when family and friends drove into Tibet, they still stayed at this place-Sunshine Inn through Lijiang.
The noisy ancient city of Lijiang is a paradise for young people at night.
An old story house that takes tranquility in the bustle
Exquisite handicrafts
Aqi Duzhima is the heir to the traditional handmade weaving of the Mosuo people, and the threads used for weaving are all hemp threads he grows. (Pure cotton thread is also used now), this primitive hand-woven fabric has been listed as an intangible cultural heritage and is also the earliest artistic creation of the Mosuo people.
High in the sky are famous tie-dyed products. Although it has no gorgeous color, it adds a different charm to the simple alleys with the decoration of lanterns.
Haha, this is what a famous saying says.
Eat one fish three times
There are many delicacies in Lijiang, among which preserved pork ribs and a whole fish banquet where one fish is eaten three are worth recommending. Lijiang Ashou Mountain Black Goat Hot Pot is even more extraordinary. Haha! Since being instructed by Dumas, everything has to be fought for the body and soul!
The roads in the ancient city, wide streets and narrow alleys are covered with light red breccia. Locals call it Wuhua Stone. It is very textured and comfortable to walk on. It seems that it will not be muddy in the rainy season and will not be dusty in the dry season. The patterns on the stone are natural and elegant, and it is said that this Wuhua Stone Road has a history of more than 800 years.
The ancient city of Lijiang is also known as Dayan Town. It is located in Lijiang City in Yunnan Province in southwest China. It is also known as the "Four Most Well-preserved Ancient Cities" along with Langzhong in Sichuan, Pingyao in Shanxi, and She County in Anhui, which are also among the second batch of national historical and cultural cities.
Fortunately, I have visited the first three ancient cities, and I have always been looking forward to the fourth ancient city, Lijiang. Maybe expectations are too high. When I am in it, there seems to be no more joy. It is too noisy, too modern, and too commercial. I think this may be related to age, not scenery. Among the four ancient cities, the tranquility of Langzhong and the simplicity of Pingyao have a strong flavor of ancient cities.
Arrive at Shuhe Ancient Town at 3 pm on March 27
Shuhe Ancient Town, known as "Shaowu" in Naxi language, is called "Shaowu". Because the mountains behind the village are like peaks, it is named after the mountains and is spread and mutated. It means "village under the peak". It is one of the earliest settlements of Naxi ancestors in Lijiang Bazi. It is an important market town that is well-preserved on the ancient tea-horse road. There were no tickets for entering the ancient town that day.
The weather in Shuhe Ancient Town was a bit gloomy, but the drizzle showed the peace and tranquility of the streets and alleys of the ancient town. Shops on the roadside are all open and do not deliberately solicit or introduce products, which is in sharp contrast to the hustle and bustle of Lijiang and Dali.
After traveling for nearly two weeks, my heart seemed to have found a sense of belonging here. The gurgling flowing stream, the quiet and simple alleys, and the warm picture of people and scenery integrating, make me feel like I want to stay and live.
This is the Dongba Paper Workshop in Shuhe Ancient Town, and there is the same paper workshop in Lijiang. Dongba paper is paper made by an ancient papermaking process. The material used is a unique local wood in Yunnan. Plant fiber is very rich, so Dongba paper is very tough. It is said that the paper used in Buddhist scriptures is Dongba paper, which has a saying that it will not rot for thousands of years.
When I first met the paper workshop, I felt esoteric, mysterious and otherworldly. I liked the Dongba paper lamps of various shapes, especially the paper lamp on the table that looked like an open book. It was very beautiful.
Elegant and charming views of the town
There are three streams in the Shuhe River, namely Jiuding Creek of the "Jiuding Longtan", and Qinglong Creek and Liuli Creek of the "Liuhe Longtan". The three streams run through streets and alleys from north to south, and have the poetry of "small bridges and flowing water and people".
The entire ancient city's water system is around the city, entering and exiting against the river. The Jiuding River in the west is Longquan water, which can be drunk; the water of the Liuli River in the east is used to wash vegetables and rice; the Qinglong River in the middle can be used to wash clothes, etc. The so-called three-eye well classifies water: drinking, washing vegetables, and washing. Each takes what he needs and uses it best.
Haha, I don't go to stone gambling or buy jade, but I buy some small items in several ancient towns as souvenirs.
Lijiang-Yulong Snow Mountain
For free travel tourists, it is hard to get a ticket for the main mountain cableway car in Lijiang who wants to go to the Yulong Snow Mountain. They have to grab tickets online at 7 a.m. that day. Several of us, including the landlady, were on time and grabbed tickets at the same time, but if we were to sign up for a tour, it would not be a problem. If we paid the travel agency, this problem would be solved. Tickets for the snowy mountains are 100 yuan, and half price for people over 60 years old. Ticket for Yunshanping, small cableway: 120 yuan.
The cableway that didn't reach the main peak was full of disappointment, but this loss disappeared in a short time. According to the innkeeper, it is more beautiful to see the Yulong Snow Mountain.
On the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain that day, there were dozens of couples taking wedding photos. The scenery here was very artistic, with vows of friendship and mountains and rivers witnessing it.
Arrived in Kunming on the morning of March 30
Dianchi Lake is a paradise for seagulls. Red-billed gulls in Kunming travel through Russia and the whole of China every winter to escape the cold climate of Siberia, come to Kunming for the winter, and then return to Siberia collectively in the spring, so seagulls can be seen from the end of November to March. Please listen, our trip here is March 30, and watching seagulls soar in the same sea and sky is also a value-for-money bonus. Haha, red-billed gull.
Feeding seagulls is so addictive that 90 minutes have passed and I still can't leave it.
Seagulls look at all kinds of different forms while feeding and flying.
Standing by the edge of Dianchi Lake, I remembered a song written by Su Fengjuan when I was young,"Seagull". Fifty years later, I still remember the lyrics and tunes: Ah, seagulls fly around and sing to their heart's content, ah, how happy it is to be free and free for seagulls...
At 2:30 pm on March 30, we arrived at Kunming International Airport and ended a 15-day travel that included cultural history, rivers and mountains, and specialty food. Return to Beijing by plane from 16:45 to 20:05.
Concluding remarks:
The travel notes that have been put on hold for half a year for various reasons have not yet been completed. On October 1, when I watched the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the motherland's birth from 1949 to 2019, I felt moved spontaneously, just like the National Day WeChat circle of friends. The paragraph: "Today's years are quiet, in the lives and blood of countless martyrs and ancestors."
Therefore, for this trip back to history, we will complete this travel note as a special way to commemorate and pay tribute to all the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the Republic!
Add:
1. Make an appointment with friends or family members, take a plane or high-speed train for free travel, and go to more scattered tourist destinations (especially Yungui). It is more comfortable and convenient to book a car online, with great freedom, and you can deliver it in different places. Very convenient.
2. There is basically no fruit food on this trip. Yunnan-Guizhou snacks and seasonal fruits are extremely abundant.
3. If backpackers can not bring toiletries to reduce carrying, hotels and inns basically have them.

5. For safety reasons while driving, it is recommended not to walk at night.
