There are many classic hiking routes around Lijiang, such as: Tiger Leaping Gorge Hiking, Lugu Lake Hiking to Aden, Meili Snow Mountain Hiking in the Rain Collapse, Yulong Snow Mountain Hiking, etc. However, you can find a route that can take into account the magnificent natural scenery and cultural customs. I am afraid the only hiking route between Tiger Leaping Gorge and Meili Snow Mountain Hiking. Tiger Leaping Gorge, Meili Snow Mountain and Yubeng are too famous, so there is no need to introduce too much here. Tiger Leaping Gorge was rated as one of the top ten most classic hiking routes in China as early as the 1990s, and Yubeng hiking has been popular among outdoor enthusiasts in recent ten years. In addition to the shocking natural scenery, the religious and cultural customs there are also an important reason that attracts many backpackers. The following is a travel guide made of a set of summer scenery recently photographed by our team leader, which can provide some reference for some travelers who want to go to this line.

Day 1: Lijiang-First Bay of the Yangtze River-Benzilan-Baima Snow Mountain-Feilai Temple
Since the main destinations are Meili Snow Mountain and Yubeng, many people don't want to waste much time on the road, but just want to see the sacred Meili Snow Mountain immediately. This was an impossible task in the past, but the road from Lijiang to Meili Snow Mountain has been well built in the past two years. Many bridges and tunnels have been built, making the distance and time from Lijiang to Meili Snow Mountain shorter. It normally takes six or seven hours to get there. Coupled with the time spent playing and taking photos on the road, it is basically no problem to get to Feilai Temple before dark.
Starting point: Lijiang Ancient City. When you look up from any corner of Lijiang, you can see the towering Yulong Snow Mountain. When you first arrive in Lijiang, you will feel that the Yulong Mountain is particularly shocking, but as long as you go to Meili Snow Mountain, this will be nothing to behold.
The ancient city of Lijiang under the Yulong Snow Mountain is too famous and has long been famous. However, negative news has also emerged endlessly in recent years. More and more people come to Lijiang just use it as a transit point. It is no longer the main purpose of travel. It is the starting point from Lijiang to Shangri-La, Lugu Lake, Meili Snow Mountain Yubeng, and even the starting point for Xizang.
On the way from Lijiang to Shangri-La, you will pass two very important attractions, the First Bay of the Yangtze River and the Tiger Leaping Gorge. The Yangtze River pours down from the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau to the Jinsha River in Yunnan. It passes through the mountains and deep valleys of the Hengduan Mountains and the Nujiang River and Lancang River to form a magnificent landscape of three rivers flowing in parallel. When we arrived at the junction of Lijiang and Shangri-La, we suddenly made a sharp turn of more than 100 degrees and turned to the northeast, forming a rare "V"-shaped bend."The river flow reversed here and rushed into the Central Plains to grow." People call this The wonder of the world is the "First Bay of the Yangtze River".
There is a huge canyon between the Yulong Snow Mountain in Lijiang and the Haba Snow Mountain in Shangri-La. This is the Tiger Leaping Gorge, one of the world's deepest canyons. But it has been mentioned before that Meili Snow Mountain and Yubeng are the focus of hiking. In order to save physical strength, we suggest putting the Tiger Leaping Gorge on the way back, rather than starting hiking the Tiger Leaping Gorge on the first day. We will focus on introducing the Tiger Leaping Gorge on the last day.
After crossing the Tiger Leaping Gorge, we arrived in Shangri-La, which means we officially entered the Tibetan area. The first thing we arrived at was Xiaozhongdian in Shangri-La. The overwhelming mountain azalea sea here will surely make everyone forget to return to life.
On the way to Xiaozhongdian, you can see Haba Snow Mountain, the second snowy mountain heading for Yubeng. Haba Snow Mountain means "flower of gold" in Naxi. It is a high mountain that rises sharply under the strong influence of the Himalayas orogeny and subsequent Quaternary tectonic movements. It is 5396 meters above sea level, although it is 200 meters lower than the Yulong Snow Mountain., but the snow line is lower and more spectacular. It is an entry-level snow-capped mountain.
The sea level of Shangri-La is 3300 meters, and the winter is long and cold. In summer, thick winter clothes have long been lifted on the Shangri-La grassland. There is a lively scenery everywhere in the distant mountains and near the water. The various wild flowers on the pasture have begun to compete for beauty.
This is Shangri-La's plateau wetland lake-Napa Sea. In fact, the Napa Sea and the Yila Grassland are actually connected. During the rainy season, the water is relatively abundant, and most of the grasslands are covered by lake water, which becomes the sea. During the autumn, winter and dry seasons, there is less water and more grass, and the lake water deteriorates, turning into grassland.
In spring, from May to October every year in Shangri-La, new varieties of wild flowers bloom almost every ten days. All kinds of wild flowers bloom unscrupulously, like a carpet made of flowers covering the entire grassland, and flowers are everywhere. The ocean can be enjoyed by chartered cars on the Yunnan-Tibet line and self-driving on the Yunnan-Tibet line.
On the way to the Yunnan-Tibet line, you can also see Songzanlin Temple, the largest Tibetan Buddhist temple in Yunnan. Because many people focus on hiking in the rain, they usually overlook Songzanlin Temple from the roadside. If people are interested in Tibetan Buddhism, they can arrange special time to visit on their return journey.
After passing Songzanlin Temple and driving forward along the Yunnan-Tibet Highway for about an hour, you reach Benzilan, an important town on the Ancient Tea Horse Road. Benzilan is located on the bank of the Jinsha River and opposite is Ganzi, Sichuan. In terms of scenery, there is actually nothing special, but due to its special geographical location, it is an important station before crossing the Baima Snow Mountain. The former horse gangs would rest here and recuperate., and then start to climb the Great Snow Mountain. It was noon when we arrived here, so most people would eat Chinese food in Benzilan and then climb the Baima Snow Mountain.
After lunch and walking from Benzilan for twenty minutes, you will see the big bend of the Jinsha River-the Moon Bend. Because summer is the rainy season and a lot of mud and water rush into the river, the Moon Bay you see this season is red.
From Benzilan, you will rise all the way up the Haipao of the Yunnan-Tibet Highway and reach the Baima Snow Mountain Nature Reserve. On the roadside, you can see the towering Baima Snow Mountain under the blue sky. The sea level of this section of the highway passing through the Baima Snow Mountain exceeds 4000 meters, and it is also the highest highway in Yunnan since entering Tibetan areas.
In summer, Baima Snow Mountain is also in full bloom with bright alpine rhododendrons, thus forming a beautiful landscape of white snow mountains and flowers coexisting.
This is the symbol of the newly built Baima Snow Mountain Pass. The altitude of 4292 meters is particularly eye-catching under the blue sky. This is also the first snow mountain pass higher than 4000 meters passed by the Yunnan-Tibet line.
After crossing the Baima Snow Mountain Pass at 4292 meters above sea level, it went downhill again to reach Deqin County, the highest city in Yunnan, at 3400 meters above sea level. People in Deqin County may not have any impression of this ordinary Tibetan county, but it has the Meili Snow Mountain, the highest peak in Yunnan. The magnificent mountain shape and mysterious religious color of Meili Snow Mountain play a decisive role in the sacred mountains of Tibetan areas. It has been an important sacred mountain worshipped by Tibetan believers from ancient times to ancient times.
Arriving at Feilai Temple at dusk, if you are lucky, you can still see the gorgeous sunset on Meili Snow Mountain, but what makes people look forward to is the bright starry sky on Meili Snow Mountain at night.
In order to appreciate the spectacular Meili Snow Mountain, I believe that the first choice for most people should be Feilai Temple. The sea level here has reached 3500 meters, the air is transparent, the visibility is extremely high, and it has ideal conditions for shooting stars. Basically, shooting stars takes place after ten o'clock in the evening. The night on the plateau here has completely darkened. It is best to go to the roof of the hotel where you live. When the stars are full of stars above your head, the shock is no less than seeing Jinshan in the morning. feeling.
In addition to good weather conditions, photography equipment is also very important. It must be a SLR camera and a tripod. Of course, a shutter line is also necessary if you want to shoot satellite orbits. When the corner frame is set up and the parameters for shooting stars are adjusted. When the shutter is pressed and waiting for a few seconds, a starry sky blockbuster will come out. If you don't shoot well once, try the shutter and exposure combination several times, and you can always shoot a starry sky blockbuster that satisfies you.
Day 2: Feilai Temple-Lancang River Grand Canyon-Xidang-Nanzongyakou-Yubeng Village
In order to appreciate the shocking wonders of Jinshan in Rizhao, we must get up early today and wait for the first ray of sunlight to shine on the main peak of Meili Snow Mountain at the Feilisi Observation Deck or the roof of the hotel. In fact, the Meili Snow Mountain is in the west, and the sun rises from the east. It first illuminates the peak of Kawagbo, the main peak of Meili Snow Mountain, and then the gold slowly moves downward, finally illuminating the entire mountain with gold.
Panorama of the shocking thirteen peaks of Meili Snow Mountain and Rizhao Jinshan Mountain
Jinshan's time is very short, so you must hurry up and take photos. Soon, Rizhao Jinshan will become Rizhao Yinshan.
After a while, the silver mountains would fade, and the snowy mountains would gradually return to their original colors, turning into silver-white snowy peaks. By now, the entire process of Jinshan would be over, in only about half an hour.
Taking a group photo in front of the spectacular Meili Snow Mountain at this moment is also very commemorative
After admiring the shocking Meili Snow Mountain Rizhao Jinshan, we will start the focus of this trip, walking to Yubeng. The Feilai Temple where we live is more than an hour's drive from Xidang, the starting point of hiking Yubeng. On the way, we will pass through the Lancang River Grand Canyon under the Meili Snow Mountain. This canyon is also between the deepest canyons in China. There are primitive Tibetan villages on both sides, like beautiful oases dotted among the mountains and canyons.
Xidang is the starting point for hiking Yubeng. Before setting off, the group members will be very excited on the surface, because it feels as if they can reach Yubeng Village immediately as long as they set off.
We started walking into Yubeng from Xidang. There is a gentle slope of about 12 kilometers from the starting point of the hike to Nanzongyakou, which can be reached at a normal speed of about four hours.
If your physical strength is really poor, you can consider riding. Riding can only start from the starting point of hiking. If you can't walk halfway, there are no horses, so you must make a decision before. If you want to ride again after walking for a while, it is unlikely that you will want to ride again.
There will be three rest stations twelve kilometers uphill, and there will be simple food on sale such as: (instant noodles, butter tea, biscuits, etc.). Although the price is not cheap, it is recommended to eat if you are hungry. After all, today's hiking distance is twenty kilometers and needs to be replenished.
Most of the roads on foot into Yubeng are good. They are relatively wide. People and horses are walking the same road. As long as you follow the large force, there is basically no possibility of getting lost.
Of course, during the journey to Yamakou, it was not just hard hiking, but the scenery along the way was also good.
When you walk to a place full of prayer flags on the roadside, you reach Nanzongyakou. These are all hung by Tibetans who come to make a pilgrimage. These prayer flags have two colorful walls to point out the direction of the pilgrimage to those who come to the rain.
Arriving at Nanzongyakou means that the arduous 12-kilometer uphill hike has ended. Everyone can get a little excited and end today's most arduous journey.
When you reach the Pass, you can already see Shennu Peak and Wuguan Peak up close. These two towering snowy mountains are more majestic and magnificent than when you see them in Feilai Temple.
It is not far from Yubeng Village when we reach Yakou. Although there are still eight kilometers, it is all downhill, so walking is particularly easy.
There is a viewing platform during the hike from Yakou to Yubeng Village. This is also the only location where you can see Kawagbo, the main peak of Meili Snow Mountain. Don't miss taking photos.
During the downhill hike, you will vaguely see some Tibetan-style houses surrounded by green fields. This is actually a rain falling into the village, but this angle is quite special.
About two hours 'walk from Nanzong Yakou, the first thing that comes to your eyes is Yubeng Shangcun. Several white Tibetan houses stand on the green hillside, harmoniously and unified with the surrounding natural environment, forming a beautiful and peaceful Yubeng Shangcun scenery.
Not far away, the glaciers on the snowy mountains rise into the clouds and emit silver-white light, giving people a feeling of extreme cold. The villages under the snowy mountains are bathed in the sunset and look very lively. This strong contrast between sunshine and the snowy mountains is even more said to bring out the warmth and tranquility of Yubeng Village.
The rain falls on the village under the sunset and the magical light and shadow
Standing in Yubengshang Village, you can see the panoramic view of Yubengxia Village. The peaceful Yubengxia Village under the snowy mountains is in the shape of a green equilateral triangle. It is surrounded by valleys on three sides. In the green valley, there are some white small houses. These are the homes of local Tibetans, but now most of them have been transformed into inns.
A ray of sunshine illuminates Yubeng Village, making this small village under the snowy mountain more beautiful and charming
If you have to go to the base camp and the ice lake on the next day after Yubeng, it is recommended to stay at the B & B inn in Yubeng Shangcun tonight, which can save a lot of time and energy.
Yubeng is actually closer to the snowy mountains. If you have nothing to do at night to pass the time, you can take a series of starry films of Yubeng. Of course, in addition to good photography skills, this also requires the cooperation of the weather.
Day 3: Yubeng-Xiaonong Base Camp-Ice Lake-Yubeng Shangcun
Similarly, taking pictures of the golden mountains of Meili Snow Mountain the next morning was also exciting. In Yubeng Village, it was closer to the snowy mountains, and the angles were different. The effect of the golden mountains photographed was also taken at Feilai Temple. There were two different feelings. Because the main peak of Kawagbo and its surrounding Wei Peaks were blocked by the surrounding mountains during Yubeng, it was impossible to capture the entire 13th Peak of Meili, but only three snowy mountains could be photographed. However, because the distance was closer, a super wide angle was needed. Take photos.
This is the golden mountain of Shennu Peak. The morning glow of Shennu Peak is like a burning flame, extremely dazzling and brilliant in the morning light.
The Sixteen Venerable Peak is also like a burning gold mountain, dazzling and dazzling.
The light of the golden mountain has faded, and the snowy mountains have returned to their true colors and are very beautiful.
After admiring the Rizhao Jinshan in Yubeng, we have to start heading to another important destination in Yubeng-Xiaonong Base Camp and Ice Lake. The one-way distance is 12 kilometers and the round-trip distance is 24 kilometers. This is the eye-catching white stupa in the village of Yubeng, and can also be used as a starting point for hiking.
The alpine meadow we passed before entering the primeval jungle will be held here for major Buddhist festivals. Behind the meadow are lush primeval jungles and white snow peaks. The ice lake at the foot of the snow peaks is our destination today.
The rushing streams in the primeval jungle are also the source of drinking water for raindrops
To go to Xiaonong's base camp, you have to cross a pass with a sea level of about 3800, so it was all uphill before, and it was relatively difficult to walk. Fortunately, they were all virgin forests that blocked the sky and wouldn't be too exposed to the sun.
After walking over the pass for about three hours, you can see the white glacier on the Peak of the Sixteen Venerable Masters, and the mountain depression under the glacier is the location of the ice lake.
It takes about four to five hours to walk from Yubeng Shangcun to Xiaonong's base camp. In fact, it has been a summer alpine pasture since ancient times, with flat terrain and beautiful pasture. During the famous mountaineering incident in 1991, it was once the base camp of the Sino-Japanese joint mountaineering team. Later, all seventeen warriors of the mountaineering team were killed. In order to commemorate this major mountain disaster, Xiao Farm was renamed Xiao Nong Base Camp.
Tibetans usually sell butter tea and instant noodles here at the base camp. After resting here for a while, they have to continue hiking to today's destination-the ice lake. The ice lake is about two kilometers away from the base camp, but it is all uphill, and the steeper and harder you go up, so these last two kilometers are very strenuous.
When I saw the beautiful ice lake 40 minutes on foot from Xiaonong's base camp, I found that the previous hard work was worth it. In summer, the water of the ice lake was green, like a green jade inlaid between snowy mountains and canyons.
This is a glacier on an ice lake that never melts all year round, shining with a silvery white light under the blue sky.
Although the ice lake is today's destination, it is not the end of hiking. We still need to return the same way and hike another twelve kilometers. In order to get back to the inn before dark, we can't stay too long in front of the beautiful ice lake. It's best to stay in Yubengxia Village tonight. Although it will be an extra half an hour on foot, it will save a lot of valuable time for going to the Divine Waterfall and the Ninong Grand Canyon tomorrow.
Day 4: Rain Beng Shang-Divine Waterfall-Ninong Canyon-Lancang River-Feilai Temple
The advantage of living in Yubengxia Village is that when you get up in the morning, you can see two white snow peaks between the U-shaped valley in your room. These two snow peaks are Shennu Peak and Wuguan Peak.
Not only can you photograph Jinshan in Yubeng Village, but you can also photograph the magical reflection of Jinshan in Rizhao in a pool in front of the entrance of the village. This is the only place where Yubeng can photograph the reflection of a snowy mountain.
Snow mountains, temples, blue skies, and reflections can be found in the village under the rain.
The quiet rain bangs down the village, the alpine meadows in the primeval jungle are bathed in the golden morning light, the clear streams flow quietly among the meadows, and yaks and horses are quietly foraging on the grassland. A poetic portrait of the scenery is presented before our eyes.
In fact, when most Tibetans go to Yubeng Village, they only go to the Shenfalls in Yubeng Village on a pilgrimage. Basically, they will not consider going to the base camp and the ice lake. The main destination of these elderly Tibetan ladies is also the Shenfalls, so the Shenfalls are also the most important destination for us when we come to Yubeng.
This is the primeval forest on the way to the Divine Waterfall. The water flowing down from the Divine Waterfall flows through the primeval forest and flows to Yubeng Village like blue streamers, becoming the main water source here!
To get to the Divine Waterfall, you must pass through the lush virgin forest. It is a very enjoyable thing to walk in this inaccessible forest and breathe the purest air at the foot of the sacred mountain.
These tall and tall trees are fir species unique to the plateau. Walking on the pilgrim trail under the thousand-year-old ancient trees makes me feel particularly happy. These trees are also the elves at the foot of God Mountain, and they also always bless those who come to make pilgrims.
About two hours 'walk from Yubeng Village, you can see a waterfall pouring down from a thousand-meter cliff, called the "Yubeng God Waterfall". Every spring and summer, the ice and snow melt, and streams of water fly along the cliff, like tens of millions of white horses floating down and fluttering, which is very spectacular.
In summer, due to the melting of glaciers, the water in the divine waterfall is even larger. It falls vertically from the hanging bank more than 3800 meters above sea level. It really has the feeling of flying down 3,000 feet, and it is suspected that the Milky Way has fallen into the sky.
The Divine Waterfall is the end of the pilgrimage to the Meili Snow Mountain. People who come to the Meili Snow Mountain will receive the baptism of the divine water under the Divine Waterfall and wash away the sins of their lives under the Divine Mountain. These are believers who worshiped the sacred mountain under the divine waterfall. They closed their hands and closed their eyes, constantly recited Buddhist scriptures, made wishes in front of the sacred mountain with the most pious hearts, and prayed for their families and friends.
Praying.
When you read the scriptures, you will also pay homage to the divine waterfall and pray for its protection.
After paying homage to the divine waterfall, he then dedicated the white Hada to the divine waterfall. The stones in front of the divine waterfall have been wrapped by Hada of different colors.
After paying homage to the Divine Waterfall, the most sacred ceremony was followed, which was to accept the baptism of the Holy Water of the Divine Waterfall. The water of the Divine Waterfall is known as the nectar of the Meili Snow Mountain, which can cleanse the body and mind of the five poisons. Therefore, you cannot hold umbrellas or wear hats in Zhuanshen Waterfall. The more water you pour, the better. Generally, it takes three rounds. A pious person can make thirteen rounds, and a maximum of 108 rounds.
Sometimes even newly born babies are brought over by their parents to receive baptism with holy water. It is said that disasters can be avoided and hardships can be enjoyed.
Yubeng Divine Waterfall is the soul of the entire Meili Snow Mountain. Anyone who comes to turn around the mountain must come here, otherwise it will not be complete. It is said that Yubeng Waterfall is the holy water retrieved by the god Kawagbo from heaven. It can divination people's destiny. It can also eliminate disasters and grant mercy to all living beings. Believers who come to worship Meili Snow Mountain must receive the baptism of the holy water.
After the pilgrimage to Shenpu, we returned to Yubeng Xiacun on the same road. After lunch, we continued the following journey and walked out of Yubeng. The normal arrangement was to go from Yubeng Xiacun to Shangcun, and then cross Nanzong Yakou to Xidang. Back to Feilai Temple. But in fact, there is also a beautiful Grand Canyon-Ninong Canyon at the foot of Meili Snow Mountain. The rain falls from Ninong Canyon. Not only is it downhill all the way, saving physical strength, but the key is also you can enjoy the different scenery of the canyon. This is also the benefit of not going back.
Due to the abundant water in the canyon, the virgin forest is also particularly lush, and it is a lush scene all year round.
Hiking on the path of the virgin forest makes it easy and comfortable
In summer, these unknown red wild flowers will still bloom in the primeval canyons, and large tracts of purple wild flowers bloom in the canyons and are particularly conspicuous in the green jungle.
It's like walking into a beautiful fairy tale world
Crossing the clear river between the canyons
Hike among the streams and waterfalls to fully experience the magical charm of the Grand Canyon.
Primitive villages in the canyon
Travel through the green forest and enjoy the beauty of nature to the fullest
It's like walking in a beautiful fairy tale world
The primeval forests everywhere make the air extremely fresh
It is about 20 kilometers to walk from Yubengxia Village to the entire canyon in rural Nigeria. After crossing the virgin forest in the canyon, the road quickly becomes a gentle path. After arriving here, you basically complete one third of the journey. One, and then there are these smooth paths that lead to rural Nigeria.
The last six kilometers of the path used to be the most dangerous area for Ninong to hike. The road was very narrow, with a stream on the left and a bottomless canyon on the right. Moreover, the stream on one side of the cliff often overflows the path, so it is very dangerous to walk. For the safety of tourists, the local government has rebuilt the canal so that the water will no longer overflow, and the road has been widened to more than one meter. Now there is no danger in taking this small path.
You can see a big river along the path next to the canal. This is the famous Lancang River, and the hiking in the Ninong Canyon has basically ended. The canyon you see now has become the Meili Snow Mountain Grand Canyon of the Lancang River.
There is more rain in summer, and the water of the Lancang River is red. It runs through the entire Meili Snow Mountain Grand Canyon of the Lancang River and flows eastward. When it reaches Vietnam, it becomes the famous Mekong River.
This picturesque small village along the Lancang River is the rural area of Nepal. After arriving at this beautiful small village, this hike will end.
There is a suspension bridge across the Lancang River. This is also a suspension bridge leading to the other bank by local villagers. The bridge is so small that only people can pass through.
Walking on the swaying bridge and experiencing the last thrill and excitement of the entire hiking journey, this way the rain-breaking hiking journey ends here. Everyone can get on a bus across the river and return to Feilai Temple.
The fourth day can be said to be the longest walking distance and time, the most places passed, and the most spectacular scenery. On this day, the total distance between the Ganinon Grand Canyon and the Divine Waterfall is 36 kilometers. Fortunately, most of the distance is downhill, coupled with the picturesque scenery along the way, so it is not necessary to walk until it collapses.
Days 5 and 6: Feilai Temple-Shangri-La-Tiger Leaping Gorge-Lijiang
The reason why the itinerary is designed in this way is that you will stay in Feilai Temple for two nights. In this way, you will have twice the chance to appreciate Rizhao Jinshan. If you don't see it for the first time, you will have another chance to see Rizhao Jinshan. After all, it is not easy to come all the way to Meili Snow Mountain, and it is very rare to have two opportunities to see Rizhao Jinshan.
Today, we will return to Shangri-La the same way. We will no longer introduce the duplicate scenery. The focus is on introducing the strategies for hiking in the Tiger Leaping Gorge. The Tiger Leaping Gorge, located at the junction of Lijiang and Shangri-La, is a classic Chinese hiking route. The main peak of the Yulong Snow Mountain on the south bank is 5596 meters above sea level, the Zhonghaba Snow Mountain on the north bank is 5,396 meters above sea level, and the river flow in the middle canyon is only 30-60 meters wide. The upper entrance of the Tiger Leaping Gorge is 1800 meters above sea level, and the lower entrance is 1630 meters above sea level. The vertical drop between the peak of the snowy mountain and Jiangping reaches a maximum of 3900 meters. It is one of the deepest canyons in the world.
The Tiger Leaping Gorge has a total length of nearly 20 kilometers and is divided into upper, middle and lower sections from top to bottom. The water flow drop reaches more than 200 meters. The mountains are high and deep and the valleys are long and narrow!
Central Tiger Leaping Gorge (not recommended in the rainy season). After entering the gate of the Tiger Leaping Gorge Scenic Area from Qiaotou Town, it takes about half an hour to drive to reach the Central Tiger Leaping Gorge. First, we start hiking from Teacher Zhang's home path. This road is also very famous on the Internet. Because it was built by Teacher Zhang, there is a toll for crossing the road. Now Teacher Zhang's mother has been stationed there for a long time and collects a toll of ten yuan per person.
It is about two kilometers on foot from Teacher Zhang's home to the bottom of the Zhonghu Leaping Gorge. Since it is a steep downhill slope, you still need to be careful when walking.
It is best to wear hiking shoes or hiking shoes when hiking in the Tiger Leaping Gorge, so that the ability to grasp the ground is better and the walking is relatively easy.
The walking distance in the Zhonghu Leaping Gorge is very short, which is not at the same level as hiking in the rain. Although there are simple guardrails built by Teacher Zhang's family on the roadside, you still need to be very careful going downhill.
It takes half an hour to reach an observation deck where you can enjoy the spectacular one-line sky scenery of the Central Tiger Leaping Gorge
Hiking on the steep plank road beside the cliff is also very exciting
It takes about an hour to reach the bottom of the valley. It is also very commemorative to take a group photo in front of the stone tablet in the Central Tiger Leaping Gorge.
There is no turning back on foot in the Tiger Leaping Gorge. Instead, you climb the ladder from another road to Teacher Zhang's house.
This is the famous brave ladder in the Tiger Leaping Gorge. It is divided into three sections with a total of 168 steps. All climbing takes 20 minutes. The whole process is thrilling, exciting and full of challenges. After hiking the Tiger Leaping Gorge and returning to Lijiang, our entire trip is basically over.
Tips for self-guided hiking tours from Lijiang to Meili Snow Mountain and Yubeng:
Lijiang is about 400 kilometers away from Yubeng. There is only one direct shuttle bus every day. If you want to visit Shangri-La on the way, you must take the bus in sections. The following are detailed travel strategies for Lijiang to Yubeng.
Day 1: You must go to Lijiang Passenger Station early to take the shuttle bus to Deqin. Since there is only one bus per day, it is recommended to book the ticket the first day. Because the shuttle bus takes passengers one way, and the bus is too big and runs slowly, it may take eight to nine hours to reach the Deqin County Passenger Terminal. Although it is getting dark at this time, it is recommended to find a bus or taxi to fly to Feilai Temple immediately. When you arrive at Feilai Temple, you may also be able to take pictures of the sunset on Meili Snow Mountain. The key point is to enjoy the spectacular Meili Snow Mountain and Sunshine Golden Mountain tomorrow morning. Let's popularize some knowledge here. Although Deqin County is also around Meili Snow Mountain, the county seat is in a valley, and Meili Snow Mountain cannot be seen, and not at all. So I have to live in Feilai Temple.
The next day: After admiring the spectacular Rizhao Jinshan in the morning, go carpool to Xidang, which is the starting point for hiking to Yubeng. If you are lucky and get a car, it will cost about 40 yuan each. If you don't get a car, you can only pack your own minivan to go to Xidang. It costs about 200 yuan per car. Even if you are full, it will cost this price. The journey is about 60 kilometers. It takes more than an hour to reach Xidang. There is no delay after arriving in Xidang. If you want to get to Yubeng before dark, you have to start walking into Yubeng immediately after getting off the bus. Don't worry about not knowing the way, because it's almost afternoon and many tourists have come out of the rain. Basically, you won't get lost by asking while walking. It is 20 kilometers on foot from Xidang to Yubeng, and there is a 3700-meter Nanzong Pass in the middle. If you have good physical strength, you can reach Yubeng Village in six hours. It may be 8 p.m. when you arrive, find a small inn to have a good meal, then rest and welcome the next day's hiking.
Day 3: After breakfast, we start to head to the base camp and the ice lake. It's about 24 kilometers back and forth. When we go there, we go uphill all the way, passing through a 3500-meter pass. Generally, the time to arrive at Xiaonong's base camp is exactly noon. Xiaonong's base camp was once the camp of the Sino-Japanese joint mountaineering team. Now it has become a rest station on the way to the ice lake. Here, you can drink butter tea sold by local Tibetans or eat a bowl of instant noodles, take a break, and then head to the ice lake around 4100 Haipo. It is uphill from the base camp to the ice lake. The hardest part is the large steep slope near the ice lake. It is about a kilometer away. Walking the last kilometer, I feel that there is no end to it, but in the end, when you stand in front of the ice lake and see the emerald holy lake, I find that all the hard work is worth it. It doesn't matter if you don't know the way. If you follow the footsteps of your traveling friends, you will basically not get lost.
Day 4: It is recommended to stay in Yubengxia Village when you come back on the third day, so that when you go to Shenwaterfall on the fourth day, you can save time from going to the village and save a lot of physical strength. In the morning, we will hike from Yubengxia Village to Shenpu. This is a very easy road. As long as we follow the Shenpu River, there is only one road, so it is impossible to get lost. Walking along the Shenpu River for about two kilometers, you will usher in a hard uphill journey. You will also shuttle through the virgin forest. The scenery is very beautiful. The uphill journey is about six kilometers, and the hardest part is like going to the ice lake. It is the last section, and the last section to the Shenpu River is all steep gravel road, which makes it very difficult to walk. It is about eight kilometers from Yubeng Xiacun to Shenpu. The normal speed is two hours to reach Shenpu. After receiving the baptism of holy water under the Divine Waterfall, I began to go down the mountain. At this time, I can go down the mountain very easily. The most amazing thing is that my whole body is soaked by the Divine Waterfall. During the descent, it will be completely dry in a short time, and the whole person will feel very refreshing. It takes about two hours to reach Yubengxia Village from Shenpu. At this time, I am already hungry, so I can have fried rice or noodles at the inn where I stay. Then go from Xidang to Feilai Temple. In fact, there is another way out of the Yubeng, which is to go out from the Ninong Grand Canyon along the Shenpu River. However, the Ninong Grand Canyon is an undeveloped route in Yubeng, and it is all taken by local Tibetans. The forest in the canyon is dense and the forks are crisscrossed. It is recommended to hire a local guide to lead everyone there. Although it is basically possible to walk out without a guide, it may be possible to walk a lot of wrong roads and waste a lot of time and energy. Coming out of Ninong Canyon from Yubengxia Village is downhill all the way. The towering ancient trees, flying spring waterfalls, and exotic flowers and grasses that can be seen everywhere in the Ninong Rural Canyon are known as the back garden of Yubengxia, so coming out of Ninong is a very worthwhile line. After coming out of Ninong, we arrived at the Lancang River. There are many minivans soliciting passengers here. Basically, it costs 200 yuan per car to reach Feilai Temple. It is already afternoon after arriving at Feilai Temple. It is recommended to rest at Feilai Temple for a night. Another important reason is to enjoy the stunning panoramic view of the Meili Snow Mountain and Rizhao Jinshan Mountain at Feilai Temple tomorrow morning.
Day 5: After admiring the spectacular Rizhao Jinshan in the morning, then take the shuttle bus back to Shangri-La from Feilai Temple (about 4-5 hours). When you arrive in Shangri-La, you can go to a Songzanlin Temple in the afternoon and visit the Moonlight Ancient City at night. In theory, you can get to Lijiang today, but in order to hike the Tiger Leaping Gorge tomorrow, I stayed in Shangri-La for an extra night.
Day 6: Take the shuttle bus to Qiaotou early in the morning. Today, the focus is on hiking the Tiger Leaping Gorge and reaching the foot of the Qiaotou. Because there are still more than 20 kilometers away from the Chinese Tiger Leaping Gorge, there is no shuttle bus at the entrance of the scenic area. At this time, there is only a charter bus to go there. The normal round trip is 200 yuan. If there are many people, it is cost-effective. It takes about three hours to hike the Chinese Tiger Leaping Gorge, and it is already afternoon to return to Qiaotou Town. Then take the shuttle bus back to Lijiang, which takes about two hours, which ends the entire six-day journey. Although it is a little tired, But it's still very fulfilling.
Estimated full cost: The shuttle bus from Lijiang to Tiger Leaping Gorge is 50 yuan, the ticket to Tiger Leaping Gorge is 65 yuan, the shuttle bus from Tiger Leaping Gorge is 150 yuan and the toll is 30 yuan, the ticket to Songzanlin Temple is 115 yuan, the fare from Shangri-La to Deqin and Feilai Temple is 100 yuan, the bus bus from Feilai Temple to Xidang is 200 yuan, and the ticket for Yubeng is 80 yuan. The shuttle bus from Feilai Temple back to Lijiang is 120 yuan. The five-night accommodation is about 400 yuan. Plus the cost of asking for a guide, the six-day cost is about 1500 yuan. This fee does not include meals and horse rental costs, and if all are included, it will be close to 2000 yuan. This all-self-service method is suitable for experienced and hardcore hikers who have been playing away for many years, but not suitable for junior hikers and novices.
