During the Spring Festival of 2013, my wife was on duty on the second day of the new year. We arranged a self-driving tour on the third day and fourth day of the new year. The main destination was Fengyang, Anhui. Fengyang has many Ming Dynasty monuments, including the ancient city of the Zhongdu Emperor of the Ming Dynasty, the Drum Tower of the Zhongdu Dynasty and the Mausoleum of the Ming Dynasty, as well as the Longxing Temple built by Zhu Yuanzhang himself. Although these cultural relics are not completely authentic, reading "Those Things in the Ming Dynasty" makes people particularly interested in Zhu Yuanzhang's hometown. The entire journey is 1092 kilometers.

In fact, I am no stranger to Fengyang. Xiaogang Village in Fengyang is the birthplace of China's rural reform. In September 1997, I visited Fengyang twice and interviewed the then Fengyang County Party Committee Secretary on rural reform. During my visit to Fengyang this time, on my way there on the third day of the New Year, I visited Nanjing Pilu Temple and the Communist Party of China Meiyuan New Village Memorial Hall. At night, I stayed in Bengbu, about 20 kilometers away from Fengyang. On the fourth day of the New Year, I also went to Bailu Spring in Huaiyuan County, and spent the rest of the time visiting Longxing Temple in Fengyang, the Ancient City of the Emperor of Zhongdu of the Ming Dynasty, and the Drum Tower in Zhongdu of the Ming Dynasty. Another well-known scenic spot in Fengyang is the Ming Emperor Mausoleum. I visited it when I was interviewing Bengbu's housing finance reform in April 1997, so there was no duplicate arrangement this time.

At 10:55, we set off from our home in Pudong, Shanghai, cross the Yangpu Bridge, take the Inner Ring Elevated Road, pass Wuning Road, and travel from Shanghai-Nanjing Expressway to Nanjing.

Encountered a traffic jam for more than 10 minutes at Zhongshanmen.

Zhongshan Gate. Data shows that Zhongshanmen is one of the thirteen gates of the Ming City Wall in Nanjing. Zhongshanmen was formerly known as Chaoyangmen on the east side of the palace city in the early Ming Dynasty. It was originally a barnstorming city and was inconvenient to open to traffic. In 1927, when Sun Yat-sen Cemetery Avenue was built, the door was demolished, the base of the door was dug low, and a three-hole arched brick door was rebuilt. The inscription "Zhongshanmen" is embedded in the middle door entrance to allow access to cars.

When I go to Nanjing, I really want to eat salted ducks produced by the Osmanthus Duck Group, but the Osmanthus Duck stores are closed during the Spring Festival.

On Zhongshan East Road, you will pass through a "National Security", the former site of the Central Supervisory Committee of the Kuomintang Party. It is one of the "National Security" in the "former site of the National Government".

Pilu Temple, admission is 15 yuan. Pilu Temple was originally named Pilu Temple because it supported Pilu Zhana Buddha. It was one of the famous temples in Jinling. During the Republic of China, it became the center of Buddhism in the country. The Chinese Buddhist Society, the Chinese Buddhist Research Society, and the Chinese Religious Fellowship Association were all located here at that time.

Dr. Sun Yat-sen once went to Pilu Temple to meditate. The stele in the picture below is inscribed by Sun Yat-sen's granddaughter.

The old houses around Pilu Temple are located in the downtown area and seem a little dilapidated.

Pilu Temple is less than 100 meters away from Meiyuan New Village.

Meiyuan New Village used to be a high-end residential area for national government officials.

The former site of the Office of the Communist Party of China delegation (Meiyuan New Village) is the fourth batch of national key cultural relics protection units announced by the State Council on November 20, 1996. It is an important historical site and representative building in modern times. The period is from 1946 to 1947. Free visit.

Zhonglanli across the street from the Communist Party of China Meiyuan New Village Memorial Hall. Founded in 1937, it was the staff dormitory of Zhongnan Bank during the Republic of China. After being managed by the Nanjing Military Region General Hospital, it has always been a residential community for military family members. There is a row of town-style houses nearly 200 meters long on Zhonglanli Street. It is a new type of Shikumen building with gray bricks and gray tiles. It has a unified two-story building and a small balcony on the street. The top floor has a prominent attic. It is praised as having a "Republic of China style".

This is the only store of Jinjiang Inn in Bengbu. It is not worth recommending because the room is less than 20 meters away from the railway entrance, and the sound of a train honking when crossing the crossing at night is particularly harsh.

The Hall of Taizu of the Ming Dynasty in Longxing Temple. Data show that Zhu Yuanzhang was a monk in Huangjue Temple when he was a child, and his temple site is located six kilometers south of Fengyang. After Zhu Yuanzhang became emperor, he wanted to restore the construction of Huangjue Temple, but the imperial tomb had been built near the old temple and it was inappropriate to expand it. It was convenient for the Longxing Temple to be built in front of the "First Mountain" in the 16th year of Hongwu (1383) and named it "Dalongxing Temple".

Fengyang County is about 26 kilometers away from Xiaogang Village.

Donghua Road, which leads to the ancient city of the Central Emperor of the Ming Dynasty, is full of potholes.

The stone carvings of the Ancient City of the Emperor and the Imperial Mausoleum in the Ming Dynasty are the second batch of national key cultural relics protection units announced by the State Council on February 23, 1982. They are ancient ruins, and the era is Ming Dynasty. Strictly speaking, the ancient city of Zhongdu Emperor in the Ming Dynasty is a site. The picture below shows the location of Donghuamen. In the Central Capital of the Ming Dynasty, the entrance ticket is 30 yuan.
