The 2013 National Day self-driving tour route was relatively "tortuous". We visited and stayed in Jiaxing, Huzhou, Lishui, Gaochun, Nanjing, Xuyi and Huai 'an, with a total distance of 1399 kilometers. It was planned to return to Shanghai on October 6, but due to Typhoon Fete, the trip ended one day earlier. On the way back to Shanghai, I still couldn't avoid the traffic jam on the highway, and soon drove on the Beijing-Shanghai Expressway, I moved forward at a turtle speed. I got off the expressway from Gaoyou and took a detour along a provincial highway parallel to the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. Later, I encountered a traffic jam on the Shenyang-Haiyang Expressway. It took more than 7 hours to drive from Huai 'an to Shanghai nearly 420 kilometers. Compared with the previous two years of National Day holidays, the weather on National Day in 2013 was very good. Especially the blue sky in the films taken from October 2 to 5 makes people feel comfortable.

October 1, 2013 (Huzhou weather: cloudy, 18 to 27 degrees)

Depart from my home in Pudong, Shanghai at 10:30.

At 11:05, I arrived at the Linhai Highway Toll Station of Shenjiahu Expressway and drove a total of 25 kilometers.

Changhong Bridge is located in Wangjiangjing Town, Jiaxing. The Changhong Bridge spans the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. It is the largest stone arch bridge in Jiaxing City and a rare giant three-hole solid belly stone arch bridge on the Grand Canal. The Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal became the sixth batch of national key cultural relics protection units in 2006. This bridge is an important cultural relic on the Grand Canal. Unfortunately, there are no national protection monuments on site, only provincial protection monuments.

Feiying Tower, the third batch of national key cultural relics protection units announced by the State Council on January 13, 1988, is ancient buildings and historical commemorative buildings, dating from the Southern Song Dynasty. Entry into the park is free, and entrance to the tower is 15 yuan.

I drove down a section of National Highway 104 and then got onto the highway from Changxing.

We first went to Lishui Huarun Suguo for dinner. I didn't expect that there would be a chain store that aftertastes old duck vermicelli soup. This is a well-known chain restaurant in Nanjing.

Drive to Gaochun. You can drive to Ningxuan Expressway from Lishui to Gaochun, but due to traffic jam at the highway entrance, you can change to the provincial highway.

Gaochun Old Street is very crowded with tourists, and no parking spaces can be found around, so cars are parked in residential areas.

Chunxi Town is the seat of Gaochun District Government and the third batch of famous historical and cultural towns in China to be rated. The most famous scenic spot in the town is Gaochun Old Street, which is the most completely preserved ancient street of the Ming and Qing Dynasties in Jiangsu Province.

On the old street, there is the former site of the headquarters of the First Detachment of the New Fourth Army, a cultural relics protection unit in Jiangsu Province announced in 1992.

Huaiyin City Monument is located at the T-junction of Beimen Street, Dongmen Street and Ximen Street in Chuzhou District, Huaian City. In 2001, the original Huaiyin City was renamed Huaian City. The "Huaiyin City Monument" was erected to commemorate Han Xin's appointment as Marquis of Huaiyin. During the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, it was rebuilt with donations from Wang Tingqi, the commander of the capital and the supervision of water transport.
