When you park your car in the park parking lot, you can see this tall red brick kiln-style bookstore. Pioneer Bookstore is located near the entrance of the park, adjacent to the visitor service center and ecological parking lot, and has a prominent position throughout the park.

I remember the first time I came to the park and saw two dilapidated red brick kilns in the open mountains. The brick kiln is covered with green vines and weeds. The red and green match to form a sharp contrast, making it particularly eye-catching in the mine site.

Today, in addition to the original two red brick kilns, there are also new buildings with red bricks and gray arches next to them, which merge into the carrier of bookstores.

At that time, the staff of the visitor center pointed to the red brick kiln and told me: "It will be transformed into a pioneer bookstore." I have always loved Pioneer Bookstore, and I started to imagine it when I heard this introduction. What a scene it is like to see a beautiful bookstore on a green hillside. A spiritual home has been established on the mine site, and the first benefits are the residents living in Tangshan. At that time, I also told the news to my friends living in Tangshan with great admiration.

The exterior of the building is an outdoor place surrounded by red bricks. The walls of different heights and the steps are all made of red bricks, which look beautiful under the green encirclement and embellishment.

The combination of verbena on the wall gives the hard red bricks some tenderness.

Not far away in the mountains and forests, there is a Noah's Ark-style building-the Starry Sky Restaurant. The all-glass building with a ship-style shape is very dreamy in the mountains and forests.

The park is surrounded by mountains

Panoramic glass windows on one side of the bookstore connect the interior and exterior with each other. There is a shallow pool outside the window, reflecting everything in the bookstore, the illusion of reality.

The door of the bookstore is extended inward, making the space at the entrance more spacious.

The red bricks in the foyer have a changing brick wall built on the metal "Pioneer Tangshan Mine Bookstore" and its LOGO. This combination is simple and modern.

The red brick wall communicates the interior and exterior through windows of various shapes. Looking from the perspective of the window into the window is a different visual experience.

As soon as you enter the gate, you will see a red mailbox with the bookstore's LOGO on the mailbox. There is a panoramic floor-to-ceiling window and a small garden-style courtyard behind the window. The sense of transparency makes our eyes suddenly open.

Visitors can write letters or postcards here and send them through the mailbox.

As soon as I entered the door, there was an introduction to Chen Yu's exhibition "Portrait of the Soul". This is the exhibition held when the bookstore opens in April 2021, and it is also the first exhibition hosted by this bookstore.

This area has display tables and bookshelves with books placed on them. The background color here is black steel plate. Above the black steel plate is the logo of Nanjing Pioneer Bookstore-"Alien from Earth". The philosophy that Pioneer Bookstore has adhered to since its beginning is presented to us. "A stranger on the earth" is taken from the poem of the Austrian poet Tracker. It means that the human spirit is always looking for a hometown where there is no place. A good bookstore should be the spiritual home of scholars and the hometown of scholars.

Entering the main hall, you will find an indomitable book wall on one side and eight spacious platforms in the middle.

The hall adopts a north-south arched tube building with a span of 8 meters, allowing the bookstore to have a free interior space and a wide view. In this space, there are new book exhibitions, bookstore checkouts and cultural and creative product exhibitions...

The combination of red brick walls and glass is simple and modern. The red walls are decorated with various styles of figure paintings, and the artistic atmosphere is everywhere.

On one side of the Cultural and Creative District is a full-surface floor-to-ceiling window. There is a shallow pool outside the window.

Cultural and creative products are rich in content. The cultural and creative center with the theme of Tangshan and Mining Mines is rich in varieties of stationery, toys and souvenirs and full of creativity.

On the two walls surrounding the eight cultural and creative platforms, the indomitable book walls are filled with literary bibliographies. This feeling of indomitable makes life feel awe-inspiring. If you slowly search here, you will definitely find your interests.

Below the east-west vault is a large coffee area. There is also a large floor-to-ceiling window on one side of the coffee area. Outside the window are green hillsides, lawns and tall trees and mine mountain views in the park. It is an excellent enjoyment to order a cup of coffee here and see the scenery.

The spacious bar in the coffee area is surrounded by dark metal baffles. The darkness contrasts with the surrounding rustic red bricks. One black and one red blend in the collision of industrial sense left over from history and the mysterious modernity.

Drinking a cup of coffee in this space filled with the aroma of coffee, friends Xiaoxue, and many friends reading alone. Pick a book that interests you, hold a cup of coffee, find a place to sit down by the window, look at the books in your hand, look at the rough mineral mountains, and feel the quiet flow of time. No matter what your personality is, you can find your own way to relax here.

The main theme of the second floor space is still the large desk and the entire wall of bookshelves. The books in this area are art-themed. I was very happy to find a book on pen and pen drawing techniques here.

The terrace outside the second floor breaks the limitations of space and gives us an experience of integrating into nature.

There is a big staircase here, and on one side of the staircase is a bookshelf on the entire wall that goes up by the staircase. The design of the ladder is practical and artistic. The stairs are divided into left and right sides, one side is a large staircase and the other side is a small staircase. There are large cattails placed randomly on the big steps.

Leaning against the black railing and with the book wall as the background, I feel that I have been influenced here and have an artistic atmosphere.

Walking along the space on the second floor to the stairs, every angle has such beauty.

Looking at the place where I just stopped from this angle, the combination of black screen panels, plain concrete and red bricks makes the whole space deep and extremely impactful. Coupled with the paintings all over the wall, the combination of industrial style and art.

The grey-black stairs contrasts sharply with the brass-colored verses. The lights mix with the sunlight from the skylight, making the whole space warm and warm.

On the book wall are neatly and scattered with Chinese and foreign classic poems and the poet's destiny. A large number of books are artistically arranged on the bookshelves, giving people a shocking feeling.

Bookshelves extend up from the floor to the ceiling. Climbing up the stairs, touching these books that still exude the fragrance of ink, the sea of books rippling, and the impetuous heart in life settles here and is calm.

I also feel at ease on this large ladder. This comfortable ladder not only has the function of connecting the ladder space, but also provides us with a place to "stop". We have somewhere to rest here. This is also the philosophy that Pioneer Bookstore adheres to: the bookstore must become the homeland of "strangers from the earth".

The space of the bookstore is flexibly divided through bookshelves and glass. Book area, cultural and creative products area, coffee area, reading activity area, exhibition area... There is always one suitable for you in the rich regional space.

The picture book area is a favorite for children and friends with childlike innocence.

This is the first time I came to the bookstore and wandered around every space curiously. When you are tired from wandering around, order a cup of coffee and chat. The second time I came specifically for taking photos. Red brick walls, black frames, full-size floor-to-ceiling windows, and elements such as books, every corner and space is a background wall for taking photos. I spent an afternoon just in time for dinner, and I also experienced the Starry Sky Restaurant in the park for the first time. Walking out of the bookstore, there is such a mountain rock, a forest picture, and an atmosphere.

Looking at the bookstore on the outside, the height difference of the venue in the park enriches the spatial level of the building. The walls of the new building and the landscape walls of the site use red bricks as the main building material to continue the texture of the old brick kiln. The arch is made of concrete, echoing the exposed quarry mouth on the mountain of the Mine Park. The arched roof of the bookstore connects the front square, the grass slope in the north, and the mountain lawn in the back. Architecture, landscape and mountains are integrated.

The three barrel spaces of the bookstore are divided and linked according to the comprehensive functions of the bookstore. The "dome" design of the tubular space not only makes the interior space more open, but also brings a strong sense of history to the bookstore. Three spaces and three scales are combined to form a rich and diverse space in the bookstore.

Red bricks are the main body, natural and simple, coupled with modern glass and steel frames with a strong modern industrial style. The building uses windows in a large area, with floor-to-ceiling windows and skylights, with sufficient and diverse lighting. It can be imagined that as time and seasons change, light shines in, and the trajectory of light flowing in the room changes endlessly, which is intoxicating. Such changes will also attract me to come again and again to enjoy the dream effect of light and shadow here every moment.

Follow the hillside of the bookstore and look at the bookstore. The originally existing red brick kiln and the new building of the bookstore form an organic whole. In the mountains and rivers, the entire building follows the mountain, and the concrete vault is combined with red bricks, realizing the humanistic creation of the restoration of industrial sites in the Kuangqu.

The main theme of the Mine Park is the stone as hard as a knife and axe, and the green vegetation.

June is bustling, and the hard mine pit has a tender side because of these flowers and plants.

The red tin house among the green mountains is a restaurant. The iron sheet material conforms to the park's tough industrial style.

There is a flat land halfway up the mountain with a large area. It is the barbecue camping and mountain camp area of the park.

The camp is very big, and you can barbecue and set up tents here to camp. The condescending terrain also allows the view to be broader.

Star Sky Restaurant is now also an Internet celebrity restaurant. On a small hill in the huge mine park, it stands out from a flock of chickens. On a hillside, it is like a huge sailing ship sailing through green forests and seas. There are several paths to the Star Sky Restaurant, including carriageways and sidewalks. We chose a road on the west side from the bookstore to the restaurant.

The spacious platform on the north side leads us into the restaurant. From this perspective, the restaurant is like a plane about to set sail.

I was not in a hurry to enter the restaurant, but surrounded the U-shaped platform outside the restaurant from the side of the main entrance to view the scenery.

Overlooking the park scenery from an unobstructed platform and feeling the mountains surrounded by it, you have a sense of authenticity.

It is basically a 360-degree view mode, and you can enjoy the mining fields halfway up the mountain.

Entering the restaurant, the restaurant is decorated with blue and white stars. The dining area is also a U-shaped corridor, which provides diners with maximum viewing views.

Its dishes are mainly fusion dishes, with some Cantonese snacks.

Eating here is no longer particularly important. It's the environment that tastes. At the end of dinner, the lights were already on in the park, making the park more charming.

Along the mountain, the road draws a beautiful arc. We looked back at this giant ship and lamented the design of this park.

The bookstore closes at six o'clock, and the calm bookstore exudes the charm of red bricks because of the lighting.

Come to the parking lot at the foot of the mountain and look back at the Starry Sky Restaurant in this park. It is not only a simple dining space, but also a place to rest and view. The highest place allows us to see the park and Tangshan here, and experience the beauty of every angle here.
