Qixia Mountain is located in Qixia District, Nanjing City, also known as Shashan. It is known as the "No. 1 Mingxiu Mountain in Jinling." Qixia Mountain is known as the "Famous Site of the Six Dynasties". Enter from the gate and go directly to Qixia Temple. There are two large ancient ginkgo trees in front of the temple, as well as the vermilion gate, which are both good attractions for taking photos; then pass through the Sutra Pavilion, where the white carvings and buildings can be photographed in a group, which is very simple; Then go to the "Reading Maple Pavilion" of Hushan Mountain, which is almost the highest point here. Climb high and look at the fiery red maple leaves. It is beautiful. You can take portrait scenes here, because there are maple forests on both sides of the road, and the maple leaves are of different colors in red and yellow. Coupled with the blue sky, white clouds and green grass, the colors are particularly vivid, and the characters can be close or far away. It is great to take a group of environmental portraits. If there is aerial photography, it will be even more shocking; Moving forward is Taohua Lake. There are maples and lakes here, and the sense of hierarchy is very strong. You can use the still lake surface to shoot reflections in the water, or you can use red maples to blur the foreground and place portraits in the middle, so that the results are different; Finally, we go to the Red Leaf Valley. We also came to Qixia Temple, a thousand-year-old temple, and had the chance to get to know Master Jingshan. With the help of Master Jingshan and his lay residents, we learned how to repair ancient scriptures.

Qixia Temple has a history of more than 1500 years. It is one of the "480 temples in the Southern Dynasty". Due to the large number of eminent monks from all generations in the temple, the temple has widely spread the "Three Essays" of Buddhism, and it has become the ancestral court of the Three Essays Sect. During this period, the Vatican and the universe overlapped and the weather was spectacular. Together with Yuquan in Hubei, Lingyan in Shandong, and Guoqing in Zhejiang, they were called the "Four Great Jungles" of our country.

This is Master Jingshan. He is the second-in-command in the temple, and the top leader is of course the presiding officer.

Master Jingshan is seriously repairing the damaged and destroyed ancient scriptures with the laymen. Master Jingshan told us that these ancient scriptures are all books in the Sutra Building next to them. There are more than 47,000 ancient books in total, which is equivalent to a medium-sized city. The library has a large storage capacity. A few years ago, Qixia Temple sorted out and catalogued many ancient scriptures that had been bitten by mice and eaten by insects, so it mobilized laymen to repair them together. Master Jingshan also said: Repairing ancient books is a very hard task. On a whim, under the careful guidance of Master Jingshan, we also learned to repair them.

Not to mention, the work of repairing scriptures is really not an easy task. You have to use bamboo paper to repair them in small pieces. After the repair is completed, you have to gently tear off the extra paper. The paper that is repaired must be as big as the gap. It is really time-consuming and labor-intensive. Maybe only one page can be repaired in a day. If there is too much damage on some pages, it will take several days to repair it. It is indeed a slow work that produces meticulous work. However, these laymen did not complain about such complicated work, and all came to help for free.

Master Jingshan said that we were fated to meet each other, and he also gave us woodblock printed "Heart Sutra" and "God of Wealth". This woodblock printing originated from ancient times. Most of the ancient scriptures in the Sutra Depository were woodblock printing. The woodblock printing mold is made of wood. When printing, apply the color paint on it, and then use a brush to make it even. Then, the bamboo paper is put on it, a wooden board is pressed on it, and then a woodblock printed picture or character comes out. So interesting. Everyone studied it for a while, and this was much simpler. I sincerely thank Master Jingshan for his patient explanation.
