Nanjing, the ancient capital of the Six Dynasties, has always been one of the important destinations for domestic travel. In the past year, many international big-name hotels have opened one after another, revitalizing the entire hotel market in Nanjing. One of the hotels is very low-key and does not deliberately expose too much, but friends who have stayed there all say that it has many highlights and is worth staying there. It is the Kempinski Hotel Nanjing, which has just celebrated its first birthday.

If a new hotel wants to be remembered and willing to share it with friends, it must have some "unique secrets". The Kempinski Hotel Nanjing knows this well. Two impressive new spaces are quiet and each has its own style.

Fragrant ink,"Thousands of years of fragrance have been lingering in poetry and ink." I said without secret that I was attracted by the name of this literary and artistic fan, which is also a reflection of Nanjing's distant cultural history. Walking through the elevator hall in the hotel lobby,"Fang Mo" guided me to the entrance of this lounge. The logo of the neon tube is reflected on the wall of the main logo, as if it is the collision and interweaving of modernity and tradition. It also secretly symbolizes that the day and night here are two completely different styles.

The fragrant ink during the day is literary and artistic. The tall and transparent space and the decorative decorations with a strong cultural sense are what many people choose to stay here comfortably for half a day. It is also suitable for holding various small gatherings, press conferences and chartered events.

Or you can choose to go to the Fangmo outdoor terrace to bathe in the sun and feel the pulse of the city. By the way, spoiler alert: It is said that a small Christmas market will be held here next month, with delicious food, wine and lovely little items from Germany waiting for you.

The fragrant ink at night is passionate. Dynamic music spreads in every space in the lounge. The best choice at the moment is to order a special cocktail, make fun of it, and sway to the music...

Fangmo's bartender is very handsome, her hand gestures are also very beautiful, and she also shows off a "burning cocktail" from time to time. "Night Parking in Qinhuai","Dawn Bell Mountain","Girl in Red"... The cocktails here have a wonderful connection with Nanjing and the Kempinski brand, with stories and looks.

The design that attracted me most was that the bartender paired each cocktail with a bear cocktail candy of the corresponding color according to the color of each cocktail. When the cocktails were served, the "bear" looked at you by the glass, feeling silly. At that moment, there was still a touch of soul.

Fangmo also has a private private room space, which is very spacious. Private parties and business negotiations are not only full of atmosphere, but also full of tonality.

For business guests, the executive lounge is often the one that best embodies the value of a luxury hotel. The Kempinski Hotel Nanjing has the executive lounge located on the highest floor, which not only has a sense of dignity, but also occupies the best view of the entire hotel. The view of the lounge faces west, giving almost an exhaustive view of Nanjing's Laocheng District, and is an excellent place to enjoy the sunset at dusk.

The Executive Lounge is perhaps the quietest place in the hotel, and the artistic decoration atmosphere makes people whisper unconsciously. Guests in Executive Rooms and Suites can spend the whole day here. Free coffee, tea and soft drinks are provided all day long. As long as I sit by the window, the gentle lounge staff will come to ask if I need a cup of coffee. Even if I am here to watch the scenery and feel dazed, I feel very comfortable.

During the afternoon tea period every day, the lounge will provide a variety of refreshments and snacks. At happy hour in the evening, a variety of dishes are added to the refreshments, which is very close to the level of a dinner. It can be a very good meal, and the choice of drinks is also extremely rich.

With two finishing touches, let's take a look at what kind of prosperous life this Nanjing Kempinski Hotel, with the design context of the "Ming Palace", presents us.

Each Kempinski room has its own unique logo. At the Kempinski Hotel in Nanjing, what I saw was a divine beast that repelled evil spirits. Like a unicorn without horns, it symbolizes "benevolence" and "auspicious", which is an excellent reflection of Nanjing's temperament.

The hotel's location is unique, close to the Qinhuai River and the east line of the inner ring. It is also a rare new hotel in the core location of Qinhuai District in recent years. "Beautiful Land in Jiangnan, Imperial State in Jinling", around the Kempinski Hotel in Nanjing, there are historical sites such as the Ming Palace, Dongshui Pass, and the Presidential Palace. The adjacent Ming Palace ruins provide a story for the hotel design. Kempinski's old partner, YANG Design Group, interprets the beautiful charm of the prosperous Ming Dynasty in a new way that integrates China and the West, welcoming visitors from all over the world.

The entrance to the hotel is hidden behind the main road, inadvertently increasing the privacy of the hotel. On the first floor is the welcome lobby, with a dessert bar in the corner. Coming here, you can already feel the designer's efforts for this hotel. At the Kempinski Hotel in Nanjing, the history of the Ming Dynasty was not simply copied and pasted. The YANG design team reconstructed the classical elements with modern design techniques, transforming the complexity of palace and imperial culture into simplicity, which was more understood and appreciated by modern people.

Whether it is the hollow background wall design of the reception counter on the first floor or the refinement of the decorative sculptures on one side, people can see a different "sense of history".

This one is different. When the elevator door on the fifth floor opens, it is infinitely enlarged. What comes into view is the large-scale "Ming City Wall". This is the lobby, which uses the palace architecture and the main hall of the palace as design elements. It uses modern methods to create a majestic atmosphere and highlight the noble welcoming etiquette.

The "Ming City Wall" is made of splicing large pieces of high-permeability marble, with built-in light boxes to highlight the mottled texture of the stone surface. Echoing this is the ceiling that is reconstructed with dark metal to interpret the "caisson" elements. It has a wonderful metallic luster like gold and has a strong sense of order.

The design of the front desk is also extraordinary. Two huge metal hollow art screens outline the palace's stacked towers in a double layer of metal overlap, which not only instantly introduces people into the historical fantasy, but also solves the problem that "the east-west orientation of the lobby causes strong daytime light to shoot directly into the space." This set of screens echoed the paintings at the end of the lobby, constantly repeating to people the glory of the Ming Palace Museum.

Another scenery in the lobby is the iconic red dress of the Kempinski brand. The bright red dress gives people a sense of security. They can be found if there are any problems that need to be understood and solved during the check-in process.

Through the "city gate"-style passage from the front desk, you will come to the lobby bar with a distinctive view. The top of the "city gate" is inlaid in the style of an "official hat" with a double-arch technology, which means stepping through this place and rising step by step. The lobby bar is designed with the theme of "Jiangnan Gongyuan", which compares the majestic city wall with the simple bookshelf wall, demonstrating the depth and breadth of the "World Cultural Hub".

The details of the lobby bar are also historical and particularly vivid. Jinling auspicious beasts, bird cage palace lanterns, and jade Song porcelain add a touch of contemporary beauty to the ancient charm. I think it is very suitable for wearing Ming Dynasty costumes to check in and take a few more photos will definitely blow up the circle of friends.

Walking down the art ring ladder next to the lobby to the fourth floor, you will arrive at the hotel's all-day restaurant, Benwei. It is like a folk road from Gongyuan to a restaurant. After drinking chicken soup for the soul, it is the turn of the stomach and taste to satisfy.

This restaurant incorporates the elements of "Jinling Wine Shop", taking the image of panes on the dining table and hanging cabinet to construct the scene of the street stall, making dining more interesting.

In the one year since the hotel opened, the buffet here has become famous in Nanjing. The restaurant will also prepare some themed buffets in season, which is very popular. For a price of more than 200 yuan, you can eat unlimited raw oysters, various fresh sashimi, tomahawk steaks, and there are also limited gifts recommended by the chef every day, such as the current hairy crabs, etc., which is quite great value. In addition, as a German hotel brand, the quality of German delicacies such as pork knuckles and sausage is definitely the best in the city.

Starting from November, the hotel's Chongqing-themed buffet has been launched strongly! Hot pot, shabu kebabs, cold pot kebabs, pea mixed noodles and other hot and spicy delicacies are waiting for you. You should come and eat this hot food in autumn and winter.

After eating and drinking enough, I have to go back to my room to rest. The room I stayed in this time was a superior suite, located at the two tops of each floor, with an area of 77 square meters and was very comfortable.

The rooms are full of the retro tranquility of "dream back to the past", and the use of Morandi color system invisibly adds a low-key sense of luxury. The most comfortable design of the entire suite is the super long couch located by the window, which stretches from the living room to the bedroom, making it full of leisure.

The open-plan space design also blurs the boundary between business and leisure. With the spacious living room and relatively private bedroom, you can always find a space suitable for you to relax here.

In terms of details, traditional screen elements are adhered to the wall in asymmetric shapes, demonstrating artistic beauty. The white decorative painting on the bedside background wall highlights the prosperity of the Ming Dynasty city and uses abstract brushwork to create a distant artistic conception. The bedside lamp with the same asymmetrical design has a contemporary beauty in the retro imitation of a handheld palace lamp. It is easy for people to like it, and I really want to wear it with the same model at home.

The bathroom in this suite has a pass-through design, making it easy to use whether you first enter the room from the outside or when you go to bed at night. The matte copper frame full of texture, the oversized deep soaking bathtub placed in the center, and the independent walk-in locker all ensure a smooth feeling of use. Personally, I very much prefer the Rituals, the toilet products used by my family. This Dutch brand has a strong oriental flavor in its bones. It uses a large number of Asian plants as a base and feels full of vacation.

Of course, the basic room is also very outstanding. The room layout has been subdivided, the bathroom and bathroom are separated, and an open cloakroom has also been created. The sofa by the window is suitable for taking a nap or sitting.

Finally, I have to mention that I love its gym and pool very much. The gym (with a separate yoga room) has excellent views, making it easier to have a full mood and a happy mood when exercising. The swimming pool has a large area and a high value. The swimming pool is suspended in the air, with floor-to-ceiling windows on one side to create a boundless effect; on the other side, carefully managed floral art is used to obscure the concept of indoor and outdoor. In the evening, the setting sun sets against the Nanjing skyline, which is particularly beautiful!
