Walking method: Walking

Walking route: Taipingmen Dengchengkou--Jiefangmen--Jimingsi Road

Tickets: 30 yuan

The destination of today's plan is Jiuhua Mountain Park. I entered the park from the south gate of Jiuhua Mountain. This is the first time I came to Jiuhuashan Park. I watched the city wall and Xuanwu Lake next to the city wall from the top of the mountain wall. I followed the trail under the city wall and walked Jiuhuashan. I had a leisurely and comfortable journey. Not wanting to go back the way he came, he took a detour and arrived at the east gate of Jiuhua Mountain.

Unexpectedly, when the east gate of Jiuhua Mountain came out, it was facing the entrance of the Taiping Gate. It turns out that walking the city wall didn't make it a goal. Since you encounter it, don't miss it! In fact, the entrance point at Taiping Gate, which is directly opposite the east gate of Jiuhua Mountain, is not the location of Taiping Gate. The current Taiping Gate is located on Longpan Road and was a newly built gate in 2014.

Haha, I feel like I accidentally planted willows in the shade. At the ticket office, my medical staff was admitted free of charge. It costs 30 yuan to buy tickets for boarding the tower here. The city walls here are spacious and atmospheric, undulating along the mountains.

Come to the easternmost side of the city wall and see the city scenery across the high wall stacks.

Taiping Garden at your feet is an early villa area in Nanjing. The towering bluish-gray silhouette of Purple Mountain is clear, and even the observatory on Purple Mountain can be seen at a glance.

Under the blue sky, red lanterns are dotted on the blue-gray brick walls. Why are they so beautiful?

Walking up the more than a dozen steps on the city wall, looking back at the city wall where I just stood, and looking at the scenery from a different angle.

The white building of the Sun Palace among the green waters and green mountains is particularly eye-catching.

The vicissitudes of the city wall under the blue sky and the tall ancient trees beside the city wall are green, and the sense of breadth of heaven and earth has expanded. The joy was flying.

There is such a small opening at every other section of the city wall, which is a step that can be lowered into the belly of the city wall. But now the doors under the steps are locked. The layers and dilapidated texture of the masonry, and the weeds growing on the masonry highlight the historical vicissitudes of the city wall and the sense of history.

Looking back at the Taipingmen Section

Overlooking Xuanwu Lake, the national-level scenic spot at the foot of Zijin Mountain is one of the largest royal garden lakes in China and the largest urban park in Jiangnan. It is known as the "Pearl of Jinling". The large Xuanwu Lake serves as a moat. Isn't it enough?

On the greenish-gray ancient and thick city wall, there are conspicuous branches higher than the city wall, and the continuous Zhongshan Mountain in the distance. This picture has a strong texture.

The Ming City Wall from Taipingmen to Xuanwu Gate is the longest, most intact and tallest section of the city wall in Nanjing. The height from the ground to the crest is generally about 20 meters to 25 meters. Imagine how tall these trees are? Crossing the high city wall, you can still use your arms to support a big umbrella for the city wall.

On the south side of the city wall is Jiuhua Mountain that I have just walked through. I just saw the city wall and Xuanwu Lake on Jiuhua Mountain, but now I am watching Jiuhua Mountain on the city wall. In the same space, standing from different angles, the scenery is different. From this angle, Jiuhua Mountain is like a wooden boat upside down. With this terrain, there is a moat in front of the city wall, and Jiuhua Mountain behind the city wall. The city is protected by rivers and also protected by mountains. You can see the military role of the city wall from here!

Jiuhua Mountain Sanzang Pagoda is simple and elegant. Here, there are temples in the mountains, towers on the top of the mountain, lakes on the banks of the mountains, and cities at the foot of the mountain. The scenery is beautiful, with lakes and mountains.

The new green in front of me seemed to be dripping water.

Zifeng Building, which reaches the sky far away, is the tallest building in Nanjing.

The beautiful and majestic figure of Zifeng Building can be seen in most sections of the city wall that travels around Nanjing, and it is like a shadow above the city wall.

Prove out of the city wall, and the trails below follow the city wall.

The broad Xuanwu Lake on the north side of the city wall is a moat surrounding the Nanjing Ming City Wall and is an important part of the Nanjing Ming City Wall. The wide moat water reflects the tall and solid Nanjing City Wall, making the invading enemy daunting.

There is a corner on the city wall here. There is a small hall built on the spacious tower that turns out, where you can rest and replenish your energy.

Continue towards Taicheng

Below the city wall on the right is the water sports field of Xuanwu Lake

Colorful boats are moored by the lake

At the foot of the city wall on the left is a "jungle" belt composed of various trees

On the fitness trail inside the city wall, almost all the inside and outside of the city wall are shaded by trees.

The view from this section is great, starting from Zhongshan, Sun Palace, Nanjing International Exhibition Center, Railway Station... Along the lake, Nanjing's distinctive buildings are unobstructed.

Buildings with different styles stand on the shores of Xuanwu Lake

Looking back at Jiuhua Mountain, the Sanzang Pagoda and Liuhe Pavilion on the mountain stand graceful and beautiful.

Continue walking towards Taicheng

There are two large drums next to the gatehouse of this man-made scenery that are very popular among tourists. Tourists often beat drums here. The young mother was dancing her dress, and the child was acting like a photographer seriously.

Walking here makes you feel that the strong and majestic city walls are so majestic and full of vicissitudes. The Ming City Wall tells the history of a dynasty. It is the memory carrier of the Ming Dynasty's footprints in Nanjing.

Red lanterns hang from the city wall, and the antique hut is a study room-Taicheng Study Room. When repairing this section of the city wall in 1995, because the gap was too large, an internal frame structure was adopted, and city bricks were pasted on the outside to restore it, forming two upper and lower floors inside the city wall. In 2014, this space was transformed into a Taicheng study room for tourists to rest.

Walking down the stairs, there is a long corridor, several promotional display boards, and several bookshelves standing against the wall.

On the green-gray wall tiles on one side of the aisle are "books" in various fonts.

Panorama of the main space of the study room

The style of the study is similar to that of the tea house. There are four or five sets of wooden tables and chairs on one side, and the other side is designed as a bookshelf filled with various books for readers to read for free.

The warm lights, classical music, and the faint aroma of wood will mobilize your senses.

On the incense table in the corner of the book bar, there are guqin and plum bottles, making the entire environment antique.

There are all kinds of classic-style chairs here, and bookshelves seem to only serve as partitions.

Here, you can sip the aroma of tea and read a book. Here, you can touch the bricks of the city wall and listen to the sound of Xuanwu Lake water beating against the embankment. The fragrance of tea is accompanied by the fragrance of books here. Stay here, and you will have a unique interest.

Some small windows were opened on the side facing the lake, and the quiet appearance of a pot of green plants deeply attracted me.

Looking back at Jiuhua Mountain and the continuous Zhongshan Mountain behind you. Different from the square city walls in other places, Nanjing's city wall is built according to the direction of Nanjing's mountains and water systems. It is one of the most representative symbols of Nanjing City, an important part of Nanjing's mountains and rivers, and a great place for Nanjing people to relax and entertain.

Just now the left side of the city wall was accompanied by Jiuhua Mountain. Now on the left side of the city wall, what we can see is Jilong Mountain, with a Jiming Tower on the mountain.

On the right side of Xuanwu Lake, the city wall is built against the mountains, accompanied by water, and integrated with the mountains and forests. It is so beautiful. Nanjing's Ming City Wall is the only city wall built in the south. It makes full use of natural mountains and rivers and has distinctive Jiangnan characteristics.

The green trees beside the city wall highlight the accommodation of Xuanwu Lake in the middle view and the towering urban buildings in the long view, which are clear and layered. Green, lake blue, and sky blue are all clean and pure color combinations.

A hut built on one side of the city wall is for tourists to rest.

There are also companies specializing in Hanfu, which not only provide clothing but also provide photography services.

After walking a section of the city wall, you can see the wide Xuanwu Lake surface, and the five continents in the middle of the lake are also shown in the camera.

The dotted boats on the open lake make the lake vivid and full of vitality.

There are binoculars beside the city wall that allow you to see further and further.

The Wumiao Gate on Xuanwu Lake under the city wall was built during the Ming Dynasty. Wumiao Gate is a sluice built to control the water level of the river in the city.

This is the longest used sluice in Nanjing.

This section is Taicheng. "Taicheng" is famous for Liuzhuang's famous saying,"The most ruthless is the willows of Taicheng". Today's "Taicheng" refers to the Jiefangmen Scenic Area that spreads around Jiefangmen.

In the March cherry blossom season, the blooming cherry blossoms beside the city wall light up the ancient city wall.

The Taicheng area is crowded with tourists enjoying cherry blossoms. They either came out of Xuanwu Lake, or came down from Jiming Temple, or came from Xijia Datang... Walking here, they were crowded shoulder to shoulder, and the camera was full of people who were still enjoying it. We enjoyed the beautiful spring scenery together with flowers.

Various models of imitation cannons, swords and crossbows and other defensive weapons were placed a distance of 100 meters on one side of the city wall. Seeing these weapons allows us to imagine the scene of the rumbling of artillery at the foot of Zhongshan Mountain at the beginning of Jinling City. The city wall is a protective barrier and a thread that runs through the city's local accent and ancient charm. From 1366 to the present, Nanjing has undergone earth-shaking changes. Skyscrapers have risen from the ground and ancient palaces have collapsed.

More than 600 years roared past the sky of Jinling City, but Nanjing's city walls stood tall. After many storms, they accompanied the city to witness the honor and disgrace of the floating world.

Both adults and children will curiously touch and read the text instructions, covet their heads and take a picture, and enjoy themselves.

The construction of the Ming City Wall is also unique in Chinese history. In the past, the capital walls were all square or rectangular, but the Ming City Wall in Nanjing was built according to the topography of rivers, lakes, mountains and rivers of the capital. When encountering mountains, mountains are used as barriers. When encountering water, water is used as natural moat.

Swimming all the way and taking pictures all the way. There are dry bridges at your feet, one bridge, flower frame, and two bridges to Lingzhou. Nearby are green pines and cypresses, the weeping willows of Ming Lake in the middle view, and the lake in the distance is a ring island, which is clearly visible. Especially the dense number of tourists along the way surprised me even more.

The several continents on Xuanwu Lake can be named one by one.

The buildings on the left and the city scenery

Cherry blossoms make the ancient city walls and gates more vibrant from the rich sense of history. The place where people pass through is the Jiefang Gate on the city wall.

I looked into the distance from here, and Xuanwu Lake was sparkling.

The cherry blossoms covered Jimingsi Road under the city wall.

Zhongshan Mountain on the east side of the city wall is majestic and magnificent.

Jiming Temple is surrounded by Sanskrit sounds, modern buildings are towering into the clouds, and time and space intersect and collide, bursting out the beauty of the city and forest.

The mountains and lakes here, the mountains, rivers, cities and forests make me intoxicated.

Stretch out and see many plants on the city wall from a vertical perspective. I don't understand how these rapeseed flowers with long diameters grow through the gaps in the city bricks. Yellow rapeseed flowers sprinkled bright colors on the blue-gray wall. If they gather in large clumps, it will make a lot of color.

I was a little trance when I saw such a scene. I also have a little self-blame for why I came here accidentally. I wash clean and don't care where I travel or not. I often choose the off-season to travel, so that I can avoid the crowds and see the most authentic places for me. The cherry blossoms in Jiming Temple should be the hottest, hottest and most popular place in Nanjing in March. If the circle of friends does not publish a few cherry blossoms from Jiming Temple in the middle and late March, it will be OUT. I will enjoy such a place in my circle of friends. So when I saw this scene, I was a little trance. Why did I accidentally come here? The dense crowd of people and the dense flowers looked a little creepy. Seeing such a scene, I was confused. Where should I go down from the city wall and return? If you go down the city wall from the Jiefang Gate at your feet, you have to pass through this crowd, which is a little difficult.

You can also follow the great twist of the city wall and continue to walk north to Xuanwu Gate under the city wall. Another way is to return to Taiping Gate the same way, where there are fewer tourists.

Here you can see a big turn of the city wall and continue to move north along Xuanwu Lake.

The city wall facing Xuanwu Lake backs Jilong Mountain. Jiming Temple, located on Jilong Mountain, was built in the Western Jin Dynasty. Since ancient times, it has been known as the first temple of the "480 temples in the Southern Dynasties" and is one of the oldest Buddhist temples in Nanjing. It has been a Buddhist holy place since its establishment.

The temple is built on the mountain body and is covered with Jilong Mountain. Yellow walls and blue-gray roofs are inlaid among the green mountains and green trees.

Along the way from Taipingmen, the farther we go, the more tourists there are, and the flow of people crossing the Jiuhua Mountain section requires me to avoid it often. The flow of people in Taicheng makes it difficult to take photos. However, tourists suddenly became scarce on the city wall west of Jiefang Gate. It turned out that the end of this 100-meter section of the city wall to the west was blocked by high wall bricks, facing Beijige Park.

Nanjing's Ming City Wall is divided into two branches at Taicheng, forming a Y-shaped shape. One branch extends northwest along Xuanwu Lake and Shencemen further north... The other branch ends next to Jiming Temple after passing through Jiefang Gate. It is a section of abandoned city wall. Although it is an abandoned city wall, its height is far higher than that of the city wall along the Xuanwu Lake section. There is also Jiming Ancient Temple behind it as a foil. In addition, there are few tourists and the scenery is beautiful and quiet.

Jiming Temple, Daiwa yellow walls, bright yellow, warm yellow

On the north side of Jiming Temple, there is a Cihang Bridge connected to the city wall. But at this time the gate to the city wall was closed. Maybe because the city walls and temples are sold separately!

But looking at the flow of people at Jiming Temple, you can understand that there are advantages to not connecting the city wall and Jiming Temple.

Looking at the scenery from this section of the city wall is another perspective. From this height, you can tell that the position I am standing is the highest part of the already tall city wall.

The towering city walls, the beautiful Xuanwu Lake, and modern urban buildings serve as a foil. Only Nanjing has such beauty!

There is a "small door behind the lake" not far from Jiefang Gate, which runs east-west. On the east side of the small door is Xuanwu Lake.

It was already around two or three o'clock in the afternoon. I have been walking since I left the house in the morning, and I feel a little tired. At the wall of Cihang Bridge, I sat on the ground in this quiet place. Think about today's unexpected trip and also think about where to get off the city wall later. I thought I would return after playing Jiuhuashan Park, but I unexpectedly went to the city wall and walked for 2 kilometers on the city wall. He didn't bring anything to eat either. There was half a piece of pork in his bag to satisfy his hunger. Play selfies again under the wall. After a while, a big brother older than me sat down next to me and we chatted up. He complained about why the door of Cihang Bridge had not been opened. His destination was to go to Jiming Temple, which he found very inconvenient. I think it's good not to open it, at least there can be a peaceful place here. He came from Xuanwu Gate. I took a look and found that the distance to Xuanwu Gate was 100 meters less than that to Taipingmen. In fact, I quite want to walk through Xuanwu Gate. But at this age, I don't want to play myself too tired. Playing is easy and enjoyable. If you are too tired, you will lose the pleasure of playing. Since I already feel tired, don't continue and go home. It would be good to guard such beautiful scenery in Nanjing every day and visit another section of the city wall someday. Big brother suggested taking Jimingsi Road, and you will find the subway station across the road. I am afraid to walk on the road full of people. The eldest brother said: "I'm not afraid at my age. What are you afraid of?" Haha, a word from a passer-by during the journey will help you make up your mind. Okay, get up and rush towards Jiming Temple Road. Why do I feel like I'm on a battlefield?

Due to the terrain, a Nanjing City Wall 1366 Cultural and Creative Store was opened in the city wall where the city wall turned.

Nowadays, cultural and creative products are very cultural and artistic

This north-south section of the city wall leads to Xuanwu Gate. There are two trails on Xuanwu Lake under the city wall, one facing the lake and the other accompanying the city wall. Walking on the city wall and walking on the trails under the city wall, although they are in the same space, the different perspectives will definitely bring us different visual experiences. When you have time, you can not only walk around the city wall, but also walk along the city wall with a different scenery and a different mood.

From here, follow the city wall to the northwest of Xuanwu Lake

There are some flagpole stones left in some sections on the top of the city wall, namely flagpole stones. They are composed of two rectangular bluestone blocks more than 2 meters high, each with two upper and lower holes cut. They were used to set up flagpoles in the past.

Looking back from this perspective, there is a gap between the east-west city wall from Taiping Gate to Jiefangmen and the north-south city wall from Jiefangmen to Xuanwu Gate.

This section of the city wall can be viewed throughout the entire journey of Xuanwu Lake, which is as green as a mirror, and Nanjing's garden-style "mountains, rivers, cities and forests" are integrated into the same picture here.

To the top left is the huge five-ring symbol set up during the Youth Olympic Games on the wall of Jiefangmen.

This crowded city gate is the Liberation Gate. Jiefang Gate is a newly opened gate of Nanjing's Ming City Wall in 1954. It is a single-ticket gate. This is to facilitate traffic inside and outside this section of the city wall and to meet the needs of air defense evacuation. Nanjing City decided to open this door in Taicheng near the "Houhu City Wall" at the foot of the Beijige Mountain.

At the same time, the Ming Dynasty "Houhu Small Gate" leading to Xuanwu Lake on the north side of the gate was opened and expanded. This "Houhu Gate" is estimated to be built in the early Ming Dynasty. Since the Qing Dynasty, it has been commonly known as "Taicheng Gate" and has become an important passage for citizens to enter and exit Xuanwu Lake.

I quickly got down the city wall and passed through Jiefang Gate to Jimingsi Road.

Looking up at the location of the city wall where I was just standing, I thought that I was still struggling when I stood on the city wall and looked at the pedestrians on the road. At this time, I had become one of them.

Because of the flow of people, I need to point my camera to the sky to be less disturbed by the flow of people.

In fact, the cherry blossoms at the end of March are coming to an end, which makes me feel that there are more people than flowers and more people than flowers.

There are cherry blossoms on the road, which is very romantic and amazing

The flow of people under the cherry blossom trees amazes me even more.

The old gate of Jiming Temple is no longer used now. But this mountain gate with yellow walls and blue tiles is set off by cherry blossoms to have a more Zen feel.

Now, there are still dense people entering the gate of Jiming Temple.

There is a guardrail in the middle of the road dividing the road into two directions. There are many people but it is very orderly. Follow the crowd quickly through.

These little princesses are the happiest people.

In fact, it is not as difficult as imagined. I rarely join in the fun because I accidentally bumped into it. Think about the journey like this. Some plans are often missed over and over again, and a wonderful journey is inadvertently completed.

Arriving at Jimingsi Subway Station, the two station entrances were also subject to one-way and two-way control. Because I was too lazy to queue up to enter the station, I continued to walk towards Jiuhuashan Subway Station. You can see how reluctant I am to join in the fun? I would rather walk more.

Today's accidentally hit city wall: The city wall from Taipingmen to Jiefangmen is like a jade belt, connecting Taicheng, Jiming Temple, Xuanwu Lake, Jiuhua Mountain, Xuanzang Temple, Zijinshan Scenic Area and other scenic spots along the line. Together, forming a golden line with profound cultural heritage. The natural and humanistic beauty of the Ming City Wall is integrated here. Here you can not only see the beauty of Nanjing's mountains, rivers, cities and forests, but also the beauty of Nanjing people. Innocent children, worry-free teenagers, elderly people who love beauty, and enthusiastic young people. What they have in common is that they are full of vitality...
