Walking route: Sifang Contemporary Art Lake District (24 buildings, including Sifang Contemporary Art Museum)-Dushi Temple in Laoshan Forest Park
The Sifang Art Lake District covers a large area, sometimes on the hillside and sometimes in the valley. We drove around the lake area. Driving, stopping, driving for a stroll, stopping again, there is a lot to see in the huge lake area. We put the Sifang Art Museum, the place we came for, last. Sifang Art Museum is one of the wonderful and important one of the many art buildings in the lake area. Because it is located on the hillside, this unique art museum can be seen from many angles in the lake area.
Looking up at the building from the hillside. The combination of black, white and gray main colors, the black exterior wall and the thick bottom layer composition, and floating on the upper layer is a translucent structure, like a box suspended in the air.
Head towards the art museum on the hillside and look back at the conference center in the valley
Enter the semi-enclosed space surrounded by the black bamboo formwork concrete wall. The simple black walls, the humble Chinese and English name of the "Sifang Contemporary Art Museum", and the "L"-shaped glass doors and windows on one side give a strong contemporary art. The three words "Spirit and Scenery" on the glass window tell us the theme of the large-scale exhibition being held by the Sifang Museum of Contemporary Art.
Looking up in a semi-enclosed space, today's sky is exceptionally blue. Blue, combined with the white and black bases hanging high in the sky, are pure to the extreme colors.
The horizontal and horizontal bamboo formwork concrete walls echo the swaying green bamboo. The old tools on the lawn show a strong industrial style.
A pool of clear water in the courtyard reveals tenderness in the industrial style
Irregular buildings, cool stairs, and parallel and staggered translucent buildings allow people to walk into the artistic space at once and feel the beauty of special-shaped buildings.
The black courtyard wall on the lower level and the white exhibition hall on the upper level are high in the sky. Black and white and the elevated volume make the main body of the building more prominent.
Looking up at the white structures in the sky in the courtyard, there is a long steel structure staircase that extends upwards and penetrates the floating buildings above the building.
The entire building is gradually raised, and the channel gradually evolves from a straight bottom to a tortuous one. The upper gallery is lifted and suspended in the air and gradually unfolded in a clockwise direction. A large staircase is connected between the floating space and the ground, which has a strong sense of sculpture.
The diagonal staircase directly connecting the elevated volume not only serves as transportation, but also enriches the overall shape of the building.
From different angles, this winding steel ladder has a flexible beauty
The sky buildings open lightly among the clouds and are full of modernity.
Behind this half wall is the entrance to the art museum.
Entering the room, there is a service desk in the middle.
The structure here is different from the square feeling of ordinary art museums. Its terrain structure is also very characteristic. The trend on the first floor of the art museum is like waves. The interior color tone of the entire art museum is white. The white walls and white trusses used to support them make the entire room seem more spacious and bright. Lights on parallel trusses provide lighting in the museum. The marble floor looks simple and noble, giving people a different feeling.
The internal structure of the art museum is like an immersive work, step by step, and the rotation and intersection of each place will bring a different perspective experience. On the left is an art store that focuses on cultural creativity and books. It has a bar with tea, coffee and desserts.
Various books are placed on the low cabinet in the middle
There are colorful posters on the white walls, several small tables, and several small chairs, each with a different shape.
The small table of transparent glass, a lazy painting, and the green plants on one side, every detail is so literary and artistic.
The shelves on the wall, the long table by the wall, and the low cabinet in the middle dazzled me by the dazzling array of cultural and creative products.
Every piece is very creative
There is also a cafe in the deepest part.
After visiting the cultural and creative stores, return to the exhibition area of the art museum. An art exhibition of "Spirit and Scenery" is being held in the exhibition hall. The exhibition presents works by Swiss artist Miriam Kahn and Peruvian artist Claudia Martinez Galaj.
The works presented in the exhibition cover rich media such as oil paintings, sketches, watercolors, installations, sculptures, images, collages, as well as murals created for specific spaces in the museum. The works in the exhibition show how they rethink the relationship between "spirit" and "scenery" and how they use art to express these relationships.
The large-scale space murals and tufted tapestries on the entire wall form a strong visual impact.

The tufted tapestry pattern selects various patterns from Andean culture.
The exhibition expresses the opposition and ambiguous images of animals and humans, bodies and plants, terror and temptation.
Walking down the granite staircase is an underground exhibition space. A staircase made of granite connects the first-floor exhibition space with the underground exhibition space. The design perfectly combines stairs and resting platforms, providing us with a small resting space.
The sand painting setting designed on the platform. On the sand painting are clay sculptures by Claudia Martinez Galaj.
Large-area sand paintings and murals on the walls constitute an artistic space.
After finishing our tour of the first floor and the basement floor, we took the elevator upstairs. As soon as the elevator door opens, it leads to a straight corridor. At the end of the corridor is a large panoramic glass. The white main scenery and transparent solar panels make the entire upper exhibition space bright and quiet.
The walls are like breaking the color palette of paint.
Miriam is displayed on the sky corridor. A group of portraits drawn by Kahn. Figures and portraits are arranged on a wall, vividly showing violence, refugees, women, children and people who have been insulted and injured.
Miriam Kahn, known for her oil on canvas, always places her characters in an inner world that complements animals and plants while thinking about the contemporary human condition.
The images are intense and touching, and they are a tense response to trauma, war, violence and social conflict.
Love is always the eternal theme in the world
The design of the art museum forms different viewing perspectives due to the intertwined spatial layers, and is simultaneously integrated with the surrounding gardens and waters. There are large glass windows at the end of the corridor. At our feet is our entrance to the park. The location of the art museum is actually at the entrance of the park, but we first drove deep into the distance of the lake area and used the art museum as a feast for the last visit.
The scenery here represents humans and the environment. A large platform is set up in the sky outside the entire floor-to-ceiling window.
Stepping into this air corridor is like blending into the sky. Looking around, you are facing the intercity line of Nanjing City, which has a relationship with the place. Overlooking the entire lake, buildings of different sizes and styles are distributed among the lush mountains.
Looking out from the aerial gallery, we can see the close-up buildings, the mid-view lakes and mountains, and the long-term urban scenery parallel to each other, with endless peaks and quite rich spatial levels.
The art museum is built in the mountains and on the hillside, far away from the hustle and bustle of downtown areas and scenic spots, occupying a good view. The advantage of geographical location separates this seemingly unrealistic world. It is pure, natural and peaceful, coexisting harmoniously with the mountains, rivers and forests, and is integrated. Walking in the art museum, whether it is the indoor exhibition area, the aerial exhibition hall or the outdoor space, you feel like walking in a painting.
After the visit, return to the space in the mountains and forests. Looking at the Sifang Contemporary Art Museum from here, it seems like there is a big lens facing you. This big lens is the aerial platform where we just viewed Nanjing City. The art museum not only has internal exhibitions, but also has a staggered structure due to the natural terrain and topography. Its building has an irregular geometric appearance. Its long steps connect the air gallery and the surrounding space. As the body of the building, it is also a sculpture landscape. Sifang Art Museum is worthy of the title of the most beautiful Yamanaka Art Museum.
