I have always wanted to travel, especially in several cities in East China, Nanjing and Suzhou and Hangzhou, which are places I want to go. It just happened that I didn't have to work overtime during the National Day holiday this year, so I decided to go alone, put on my backpack and travel freely. I didn't follow the group. I found a guide online the whole time. When I was about to set out, I also made a simple guide, but it didn't use it much. Many times my plan couldn't keep up with the changes and I had to change my itinerary at any time.
Route: Chongqing-Nanjing (2 days)-Suzhou (2 days)-Hangzhou (2 days)-Shanghai (1 day)
Day 1 (No. 2):
1. The flight leaves at 6:55 and goes directly to Nanjing. The ticket is 550 yuan. Then take subway lines S1 and 3 to Daxonggong. Walking to the Presidential Palace, admission is 33 yuan. National Day is the peak season, and due to the epidemic, many scenic spots are restricted, so you basically have to book tickets in advance online, otherwise you will be reminded that tickets have been booked. In fact, it is not the case. At least in Nanjing, you can buy tickets on site. Some staff members will use a QR code to scan and purchase tickets for you, just show your ID card.
2. Go to Jiming Temple. Basically, Nanjing's attractions can be reached by subway. It is very convenient. Alipay can open a Nanjing Metro electronic card. As long as you travel, you only need to bring your mobile phone and ID card, and you don't need to bring anything else. Admission to Jiming Temple is 10 yuan. There is a tower inside. It is said that this tower was used when filming the legendary Leifeng Pagoda of the New White Lady. Other scenery can only be said to be average and nothing to see.
3. A few hundred meters ahead of Jiming Temple will be the ancient city wall of Nanjing and the Xuanwu Lake Scenic Area. If you wanted tickets for the ancient city wall, you could only rule out on-site ticket purchase. Instead of going, I took a few photos below. Xuanwu Lake Scenic Area is too big. Due to time constraints, I didn't go there and turned around and went to Confucius Temple.
4. Confucius Temple is a scenic spot with a large area, including the Qinhuai River, Jiangnan Gongyuan, Zhanyuan, Zhonghua Gate, Taoye Ferry, Wuyi Lane, Li Xiangjun's former residence, Bailuzhou Park, Mochou Lake, etc. I arrived at Confucius Temple around 2 p.m., so I only visited a few peach leaf ferries (free), Jiangnan Gongyuan (ticket is 50 yuan), Confucius Temple (ticket is 30 yuan), Wuyi Lane (free), Qinhuai River (free). You can travel on the Qinhuai River by boat (ticket... I didn't take it, I don't know how much it costs).
5. The night accommodation is a B & B I booked in advance. It is a separate one-room apartment with a shared toilet. It is 159 yuan per night.
The next day (No. 3):
1. The Ming Palace Museum site is first visited. The main entrance is not open. You can enter through the side entrance. Tickets are free. There is basically nothing left behind in the Ming Forbidden City, except for a few stones left on the ground. It has been transformed into a park. You can choose not to go, which is a bit of a waste of time.
2. Go to Ming Xiaoling. Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum is located in Zhongshan Scenic Area. The entire Zhongshan Scenic Area is so big that I can't finish it in one day. I selectively went to the music stage-Linggu Temple-Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum-Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum. You can buy a set ticket for 100 yuan. There is no need to buy tickets for all the attractions inside. Buying tickets alone is more expensive and not cost-effective. And the inside is too big, you can choose a bicycle or sightseeing bus. The sightseeing bus costs 10 yuan each time, or you can buy a set ticket for 50 yuan, so you can sit in it many times. It rained heavily that day, so many scenic spots were not visited. It was already 4 p.m. after seeing the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum, and I had to take the high-speed train to Suzhou at night. There is a Linggu Tower in Linggu Temple that you can climb up. It has nine floors in total and is worth visiting.
3. Go to Nanjing Railway Station and take the high-speed train to Suzhou Station, 104.5 yuan. When purchasing tickets, you should pay attention to buying one from Suzhou Station. If you buy Suzhou North Railway Station, it will be far away and it will take a long time to ride. Suzhou Station is relatively close to the scenic spots.
4. Take two bus stops from Suzhou Station to Pingmen and get off. Go to the hotel Jinniao Hotel. The hotel is about 100 meters away from the station. The accommodation for two nights is 298 yuan.
Day 3 (4th):
1. It is more convenient to take a bus to Suzhou's attractions. There is a bus on Line 1, which is divided into the south line and the north line. You can reach the main attractions throughout the journey by taking this bus. The first destination must be Humble Administrator's Garden, one of the four famous gardens in China. It is precisely because of its great fame and popularity that we arrive at Humble Administrator's Garden at 9 a.m., and a notice posted directly at the door that the reservation is full for the day. Please reserve tickets for the next day. There was no choice but to go to the Lion Grove next to it, which was only a few hundred meters away from Humble Administrator's Garden. The entrance ticket for Lion Grove was 40 yuan.
2. Go to Canglang Pavilion, Canglang Pavilion and Lion Grove, Humble Administrator's Garden, Lingering Garden is one of the four major gardens in Suzhou. However, it is less famous and has few tourists. Opposite Canglang Pavilion is Keyuan, and there is a river in the middle. You can buy a package ticket for 40 yuan, visit two attractions together, and a separate attraction costs 20 yuan.
3. On the way to Canglang Pavilion, I passed an Antique Confucian Temple Street and stopped by on my way back. It was full of antiques for sale, and it was deserted. There were many people setting up stalls, but there were not many tourists.
4. Hanshan Temple, this is the place where you must check in when you go to Suzhou. It is only because Zhang Ji's song "Night Mooring on Maple Bridge" is so famous. Tickets are not expensive, just 20 yuan. The entire Hanshan Temple is located in Fengqiao Scenic Area. Only Hanshan Temple in the entire scenic area requires tickets. Other places are free. You can also watch the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal.
5. Go to Shangtang Street. Shangtang Street is very famous on the Internet, has too many people, and has been completely commercialized. It is similar to Ciqikou in Chongqing, and you can cruise ships. I walked around and left. The main reason was that there were too many people to take pictures. It was too crowded.
Day 4 (No. 5):
1. Still take Haoxing Line 1 to Huqiu. The ticket for Huqiu is 69 yuan. Tiger Hill is worth seeing, Jianchi, Yunyan Temple Pagoda (China's Leaning Tower of Pisa), and many other attractions. The scenery is superb. After visiting the whole morning, I haven't visited some small attractions yet.
2. In the afternoon, I went directly to Pingshan Street. Compared with Shangtang Street, Pingshan Street has fewer people and much better. I prefer Pingshan Street for the same ancient historical street.
3. You can walk to Guanqian Street from Pingshan Street. Guanqian Street is a modern pedestrian street and there are some small attractions in it, but they all require tickets and have not entered. After visiting Guanqian Street, I took the subway directly to the Suzhou train. The subway station is inside Guanqian Street, so you can choose to visit Guanqian Street when you leave.
4. Take the high-speed train from Suzhou Station to Hangzhou East Railway Station. The ticket is 120 yuan. There are several train stations in Hangzhou. Before buying a ticket, check whether it is far or near to where you live or the scenic spot you are visiting. I don't recommend Hangzhou South Railway Station, because it is too far away from the West Lake. The B & Bs I stayed in at night were all booked on Airbnb. The price was 172 yuan for two nights. The location was near Ditieguan Station.
Day 5 (6):
There is only one destination today, which is West Lake. The first thing to go to is Baidi-Broken Bridge-Pinghu Autumn Moon-Gushan-Santan Yinyue-Leifeng Pagoda.
The West Lake is too big and full of attractions. It is recommended to ride a shared bicycle. If you want to take pictures of the broken bridge, it is best to take a cruise ship to Santan Yinyue at the entrance. From here, you can take a cruise ship to pass the broken bridge and take photos. Of course, there are also separate hand-rowed cruise ships. This type of cruise ship does not allow one person and requires at least 2 people to ride it. Santan Yinyue is a set ticket, including 55 yuan for ticket and ticket, and 40 yuan for Leifeng Tower. In the middle, I also went for a walk at Su Causeway. For a person who can't ride a bicycle, it was really too tiring. He would have to go straight back at night.
Day 6 (7):
1. Set off for the Southern Song Dynasty Imperial Street in the morning. I prefer ancient towns, ancient streets and the like. Generally, as long as there is such a place in the city, I will go and have a look. The Imperial Street in the Southern Song Dynasty was very large, surrounded by Wushan Scenic Area. After visiting the Imperial Street, we went to Wushan. Most of the scenic spots in Wushan are free. Only the City God Temple Scenic Area requires tickets. If I didn't go, I just went to check in to other scenic spots. The entire Wushan Mountain can be walked all morning.
2. In the afternoon, go to Xiaoshan Tide Watching City to watch the tide of the Qiantang River. Because I had been delayed for too much time in Wushan, it took nearly 2 hours to go to Chaoguan City. When I arrived at the place, it was already past 3 o'clock. When I was still on the road, I heard from other people who went there that the road was under maintenance and the road was blocked. I couldn't go to Chaoguan City and had to go to Meirenba to watch the tide. Because I had to take the bullet train to Shanghai at 6 p.m., even if I specifically chose Hangzhou South Railway Station, it would take about an hour to get back, so I didn't go to see it and went straight to the South Railway Station. Hangzhou's transportation is mainly subway and public transportation. There are special buses in scenic spots near the West Lake that can reach Lingyin Temple Scenic Area and Songcheng.
3. Take the bullet train from South Railway Station to Shanghai South Railway Station. The ticket is 57 yuan. Accommodation at Home Inn near South Railway Station in the evening, 175 yuan.
Day 7 (8th):
The itinerary in Shanghai is relatively simple. Because it is cheaper to fly back to Chongqing from Shanghai, I chose to go to Shanghai, so it only takes one day. There are only two destinations, Sixing Warehouse and Nanjing Pedestrian Street. I also visited the Bund. The 6 o'clock plane will fly directly back to Chongqing. Both locations can be reached by subway and are very close. Sixing Warehouse is one subway station away from Nanjing Pedestrian Street.
The entire trip lasted for 7 days. The round-trip air ticket was 1110 yuan, the high-speed rail ticket was 281.5 yuan, the total transportation expenses in each city were 72 yuan, the total accommodation for 6 nights was 804 yuan, the tickets for all scenic spots were 537 yuan, and the meal was 660 yuan. The total cost for this tour was 3,464.5 yuan. This doesn't include other gifts and souvenirs I bought, but I didn't buy many other things, only more than 200 yuan.
This is a simple and frugal travel guide. When I wrote this for the first time, I should have left out some of it. I will write a travel note later, and the photos I took will also be included in the travel note for everyone's reference.
