Nanjing Meihua Mountain is the first of China's four major plum areas and is known as the "No. 1 Plum Mountain in the World". Plum planting in Nanjing began during the Six Dynasties and has a history of more than 1500 years. Later, the area of the Plum Garden continued to expand, and the varieties increased year by year. It was famous for its strangeness. Among the 300 species of plum blossoms discovered and cultivated in the world, there are more than 200 species here. Tourists come here to admire plum blossoms, and more than 100,000 people come here every day during the peak season. Nanjing Meihua Mountain attracts more and more tourists from home and abroad with its unique natural and cultural advantages. It has gradually become the center of plum culture in China and has been continuously serving as the "Nanjing International Plum Blossom Festival". The main venue is held from February 20 to March 31 every spring, showcasing Nanjing's beautiful natural scenery and long history and culture.

Meihua Mountain is located in the Mingxiaoling Scenic Area at the southern foot of Zijin Mountain in Xuanwu District, covering an area of more than 1533 acres. Plum blossoms are planted all over the mountain, including nearly 40,000 plum trees such as gorilla red, gulihong, zhao shui, gong fen, tiaozhi, chiba red, long branch, rouge, jade plate, and spring sending. In addition to Meilin, there are Boai Pavilion, Guanmei Pavilion, and Jiangsu-Fukuoka Friendship Cherry Garden built on the top of the mountain. A new tourist restaurant called "Dark Fragrance Pavilion" has been built in northern Shandong. You can enjoy the intoxicating scenery of Meihua Mountain through the window while dining. There are also Yongmei Zhai, Shuying Hall and Zhichun Pavilion downstairs. There are winding and falling corridors between the pavilions and pavilions. The later completed Xinmei Garden was also planted with ornamental plants such as cherry blossoms, acacia, and red fir, laid lawns, and opened up an artificial water surface of 6672 square meters, which was divided into several small ponds to form a unique waterscape. There are also a Fragrant Pavilion and a Lengxiang Pavilion built in Linchi, both decorated with color paintings, and the roof of the pavilion is covered with yellow glazed tiles.

You can visit the scenic spots on the mountain along the route from Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall → Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum → Underwater World → Meihua Mountain → Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum → Zhongshan Botanical Garden.

8:30-17:00 Plum blossoms usually open first in late winter and early spring. The end of February to early March is the best time to see plum blossoms, when the "International Plum Blossom Festival" is held every year.
