May Day in 2021 ushered in Nanjing, the ancient capital of the Six Dynasties.

Day1: Tianjin-Nanjing

High-speed rail tickets have been very difficult to buy in the past two years. We only got tickets for departure in the afternoon. It was already past 5 p.m. when we arrived in Nanjing, but the weather in Nanjing was hotter than expected. We stayed at Nanjing Yebo Qinhuai Junting Hotel-Jinling Painting and Calligraphy Institute. After checking in at the hotel, we went to the nearby Confucius Temple, Wuyi Lane, and Qinhuai Scenic Belt. Because the hotel is located on the Qinhuai River (Peach Leaf Ferry), you can easily see the returning and returning pleasure boats. The night view of the Qinhuai scenery belt is very beautiful and charming.

After eating, drinking and strolling around the Confucius Temple, I visited the Chinese Imperial Examination Museum. This museum is located in the Confucius Temple sightseeing area, but it is quiet in the hustle. It is large, quiet and cultural. Here, I learned about the process and appearance of the ancient imperial examination, and bought souvenirs for my niece who was about to take the college entrance examination to wish the college entrance examination a success.

Day2: Zhongshan Scenic Area

After having breakfast at the hotel, we went to Zhongshan Scenic Area. The hotel's breakfast is very rich and delicious, all of which are local specialties. Duck blood vermicelli soup is my favorite. The hotel provides free bottled water, afternoon tea, and cultural relics to show off your skills.

It was 7 a.m. when we arrived at Zhongshan Scenic Area, and there was already a long line. I spent almost a day visiting Zhongshan Scenic Area and went to the Ming Xiao Mausoleum, Meiling Palace, and Linggu Temple. Because I didn't make an appointment in advance, I only went shopping outside.

Coming out of Zhongshan Scenic Area, we passed by Jiming Temple, went to the Nanjing City Wall, and saw Xuanwu Lake from the city wall.

I walked more than 25,000 steps this day and was very tiring. Moreover, in Zhongshan Scenic Area, there is very little time to sit and rest. Many attractions need to queue up. The distance between each attraction is also relatively long, just like walking all the time. Although you can also take a car, it takes a long time to queue up. In order to save time, we all walk there.

Day3: Six Dynasties Museum, Purple Mountain Observatory, Nanjing Museum

After breakfast, we went to the Six Dynasties Museum, which was smaller than expected, so we came out soon. The Six Dynasties Museum is next to the Nanjing Presidential Palace.

Because it was earlier than expected, we took the Zijinshan Cableway again and visited the Zijinshan Observatory. The scenery of the Purple Mountain Observatory is beautiful and shaded by greenery, making it very suitable for walking and fitness.

Coming down from Zijin Mountain, we went to Nanjing Museum. I ate salted duck and drank a pot of scented tea at the Nanjing Museum. I have to say that this is the one with the best food in many museums we have visited.

Day4: Bailuzhou Park, Dongshuiguan, Shanghai Museum

Because we couldn't get the ticket back to Tianjin from Nanjing, we had to reverse from Shanghai, so we went to Shanghai one day earlier. Before going to Shanghai, we visited Bailuzhou Park and Dongshuiguan near the hotel, thus ending our trip to Nanjing.

In the afternoon, we arrived in Shanghai and were lucky enough to book tickets to the Shanghai Museum.

Day5: Shanghai-Tianjin

In Shanghai, we chose to live near Xintiandi. Before setting off, we went to the memorial hall at the site of the First Congress of the Communist Party of China to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China with a pure heart.

Summary: Because of the prosperity of the motherland, we can ride the high-speed rail to see all over the country.
