Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, gather with classmates in Gaochun

July 11, 2020 was the busiest time for the college entrance examination. At this juncture, I received an invitation from an old classmate to visit Gaochun again. This was an agreement made 33 years ago, and it was also an agreement made when I went to Gaochun's classmate's house with my friends when I was in college. In a flash of 33 years, I had to go this trip to Gaochun.

Departing from Nanjing at noon on the 11th, the first stop is to go to Gaochun Shuiman City to see lotus flowers. It is the Gaochun Gucheng Lake Slow City Lotus Festival. Although the lotus bloom has passed and the sky is gloomy forever, everyone is in a high interest, feel comfortable, and the scenery feels particularly beautiful.

The second stop is to go to Gaochun Old Street to see the scenery of Jinling. Gaochun Old Street is known as the "No. 1 Street in Jinling". I can't remember how many times I have been there, but I only remember that this was the most serious visit. Walking into Gaochun Old Street, walk slowly along the ancient Qingshiban Road. The wooden raft door panels of shops along the street, the horse-head fire walls of people in the old street, and the white walls and blue tiles that can be seen everywhere have the charm of a Jiangnan town. It also has the style of Hui family. Especially Gaochun Old Street under the night, it is no longer busy and noisy during the day. It is simple and unpretentious, making people forget to leave.

On the morning of the 12th, the third stop of this trip was to Youzi Mountain to climb and take a long view. Youzi Mountain is connected with Gaochun's Urban area, bringing together the three cultures of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism. It is a business card of Gaochun. I just didn't expect that due to the epidemic, cars could not drive in. Fortunately, the sea of flowers at the entrance was particularly eye-catching, making up for the regret.

The fourth stop is deep into the hinterland of Yaxi Mancheng. In the past, I went to Mancheng in Gaochun to see the flowers and scenery and appreciate the "slowness" meaning of Mancheng. However, this time I went to Mancheng, I went deep into several villages such as Dashan Village and Lujia Village in the core area of Mancheng to experience the people's lives in Mancheng, and finally realized the "city" meaning of Mancheng.

The fifth stop is to go to Qiqiao Old Street and walk through the streets. In my opinion, compared with Gaochun Old Street, Qiqiao Old Street has a more historical sense. Not to mention anything else, the stone millstones, stone mortars, brick stone carvings, ancient well circles, ancient monuments and other relics left in the streets can reflect the charm of the ancient town.

During the two days we met in Gaochun, the scenery was just a passing destination. The most unforgettable thing was the past experience on the way to the destination. Talking about friendship with old friends, the distance is closer, and the hearts are closer. We are still those teenagers from before.
