On October 28, 2021, the Nanjing-Kempinski Hotel October Oktoberfest was held in Nanjing for the first time. A pure German Oktoberfest parachuted into the hotel's rooftop garden. For three consecutive days, starting at 5 o'clock every night, the beer carnival is full of joy. The atmosphere fills the sky of Qinhuai.

The October Oktoberfest originated in Bavaria, Germany and has a history of more than 200 years. Every October, 6 million people from around the world gather in Munich, making the Oktoberfest the largest folk festival in the world. Since 1992, the Beijing Kempinski Hotel Prana Brewery has brought this grand event to China and held the first October Oktoberfest in the capital Beijing. Over the past 29 years, Kempinski Hotels in various cities in China have continued this traditional ceremony. Every October, the Kempinski Hotel Oktoberfest echoes Munich. Now it has become an annual event in the cities covered by the Kempinski Hotel, from Beijing to Suzhou to Nanjing. Extend this exotic carnival atmosphere to the north and south of China.

On the opening night, before the official start of the Oktoberfest carnival, an experiential journey through Chinese and Western cultures and century-old history took the lead in the hotel's signature restaurant, Jinkai Building. In June this year, Jinkai Lou Chinese Restaurant opened grandly. The building in which the restaurant lives was built in 1927. It was once the Pilot Club of the Ming Palace Airport. After nearly a century of ups and downs, it was resurfaced as the "Wangzi Building" after renovation. Taking off the label of the restaurant, Jinkai Tower is more like a work of art that perfectly combines Kempinski's European gentleman's feelings with the essence of Oriental Cantonese cuisine. It is committed to bringing guests a diverse taste of "integration of China and West" and "integration of ancient and modern". Taste buds experience.

This time, Chinese executive chef Ye Jinliang led the team in a unique cross-border competition, teaching guests cooking skills through groups. Cold dish, roast meat, and dim sum chefs personally introduced the cooking secrets and product characteristics of signature dishes. There were also local service staff accompanying them to beat "eggs", allowing all guests to immersively experience the service and product highlights of Jinkai Building.

Back at the Oktoberfest event site, as the first barrel of October Special Beer was knocked open, golden liquid with the aroma of wheat gushed out. Amid the cheers of the crowd, a carnival feast began. This time, the Kempinski Hotel Nanjing chose King Ludwig Beer, one of Germany's leading wheat beer brands. As a Royal Bavarian specialty, it inherits the family formula of His Royal Highness Prince Louisport of Bavaria and is made from special yeast strains, barley and wheat malt and the best quality hops from the Haltau region. The wine-tasting King's Wheat Beer made every beer enthusiast on the spot love it, and they couldn't stop drinking one cup after another!

Mr. Ferry Warnke, General Manager of the hotel, and Mr. Chen Guoyan, Multi-Project Leader of Nanjing Shimao City Company, jointly completed the wine opening ceremony

In addition to drinking a large gulp of pure German beer on October Day, authentic traditional Bavarian cuisine is a signature feast that men, women and old are looking forward to. A variety of German sausages, charred and crispy roast pork knees and flexible alkaline water bread allow taste buds to celebrate with the cheerful rhythm of the "Black Diamond" band. All dishes of this Oktoberfest are made by the chef team of Frida restaurant chef Jakob Ehrensberger from Austria with authentic German cooking skills.

"As the oldest luxury hotel group in Europe, we are committed to creating an unforgettable travel experience for our guests in a perfect European style. We also adhere to the brand gene that has been passed down for more than 120 years and introduce European culture to Chinese guests. Tonight, we finally bring the traditional German Oktoberfest celebration to Nanjing, making Nanjing Kempinski Hotel a carnival destination for experiencing authentic European customs in this famous historical and cultural city of China known as the ancient capital of the Six Dynasties." said Ferry Warnke, general manager of the hotel.
