Xiao Putuo should actually be Xiayu Temple. It was built during the Southern Song Dynasty. It is said that Shi Haoshi, the prime minister of the Southern Song Dynasty, was extremely filial. In order to fulfill his mother's wish to go to Putuo Mountain in the South China Sea to visit incense, he gathered famous craftsmen to dig holes here, build Guanyin Dojo, and dig Buddhist grottoes. The nomination of "Butuo Cave" is the origin of Xiao Putuo.

As soon as you get off the boat, you can see the scene of incense and pilgrims following each other. It is said that many pilgrims here come every year.

The temple is quite large, and pilgrims are crowded. There is a Buddhist grotto inside. The four words "Butuo Cave" on the grotto were carved by the Southern Song Dynasty.

What is more eye-catching is a Western boat in the temple, which can overlook the scenery of Dongqian Lake.

Coming out of Xiayu Temple and walking casually along the dam, the distant mountains, the lake, and Xiayu Temple are another scene, and it feels very good.

Walking out along the embankment in the middle of the lake (or in a battery car), you can eat a lot. You can try the restaurant on the water. Next to the restaurant on the water is the cruise ship terminal, where you can return directly by boat (the scenery on the lake is still very good), or you can go to other attractions or places to visit.

Stone carvings in ancient China were basically concentrated in Buddhist grottoes and royal cemeteries, with the exception of the Southern Song Dynasty. In the history of stone carvings in my country, there is little information on Shinto stone carvings during the Southern Song Dynasty. The stone statues in Dongqian Lake and Southern Song Dynasty Stone Carvings Park have accurate shapes, diverse shapes and movements, and vivid expressions, which vividly reproduce the historical and cultural landscape of that time.
