★ Tourist location: Shanghai Pudong Oriental Geological Science Museum

When I woke up the next day, I found that the lingering rain was falling non-stop outside the window. We were still thinking about how to take transportation to the Oriental Geological Science Museum, and we made up our mind to drive there. After all, the rain seems to be endless for a while. Bus travel in Dongfang Geology is not so convenient. You have to take a bus in between. It is really inconvenient in rainy weather.

What is different from the coolness in our impression is that today's science museum is actually quite lively. When I walked in to change tickets, I realized that there was a parent-child activity today. No wonder this science museum, which lives in a corner of Pudong, suddenly became so popular.

Our friends like this science museum very much. If we had not opened the wrong highway entrance yesterday, our first stop would have been arranged here.

Shanghai Oriental Geological Science Museum covers an area of 1500 acres and is the only museum in Shanghai City integrating geological science popularization, display, collection and research

The Popular Science Museum has an indoor exhibition hall area of 5200 square meters and a larger outdoor display area. However, time was limited, and we didn't have time to fully enjoy the outdoor scenery, so we plunged into the exhibition hall.

The first thing you walk in is the Preface Hall, also known as the Earth Hall. In the middle is a globe that shows our Mother Earth in a three-dimensional manner. On both sides are exhibitions of strange stones, of course, of different shapes. The science popularization museum itself displays rare and strange stones, ore crystals, fossils of ancient organisms and various gemstones. The concept created is to "popularize geological science knowledge and cherish the earth's resources and environment." Most of the meteorites on display here are meteorites falling from the sky, rock treasures from the earth's south pole, north pole, Himalayan peaks and ocean bottom.

The first floor displays ancient organisms and various fossils. These stones are all very large and look very shocking. Some stones are dark in color, but have strange shapes; some stones are bright and eye-catching. We avoided the groups of children and headed for the exhibition hall with few people, so the tour route seemed a little messy. Fortunately, this is not our first visit, and we already know the general direction in mind. Just where I am excited, I just appreciate these wonderful craftsmanship of nature.

The Department of Land and Resources displays mineral resources, mainly groundwater, during four periods of Shanghai's geological evolution. As an international metropolis, Beijing, Shenzhen and Guangzhou are the first echelon of China's major cities. Shanghai is affectionately called the Magic City. In the exhibition hall, I realized that this young city is also rich in geology and landforms.

Thanks to an event today, we were able to see the movie hall finally showing the feature film. When I came here in the past, the space here was quiet.

The Hall of Palaeontology is in the center of the exhibition hall, displaying dinosaur models and fossils of ancient creatures. The earliest were algae stromatolites more than 1 billion years ago, and the Paleozoic Cambrian 530 million years ago, when biota exploded. The Mesozoic era was an era when the famous reptiles dominated the world, and the dinosaurs on land were the most famous Mesozoic animals.

Archaeopteryx was discovered in Germany, while the Confucius bird, which lived in the Jurassic period 140 million years ago, was discovered in my country. This name is very Chinese, and it was named in memory of our sage Confucius. Its forelimbs evolved into wings and have feathers all over its body, but it still retains many reptile characteristics. Its body is very heavy and should be like an ostrich and not be good at flying, but it can glide. The discovery of Confucius Bird once again proved that birds evolved from reptiles.

The ammonite fossil is always one of the most eye-catching fossils, named because its surface often has lines similar to chrysanthemums. They are a subclass of the class Cephalopoda of the phylum Mollusca. They lived in the early Devonian of the Paleozoic Era, and their existence is 400 million years old today.

I didn't know that there were so many varieties of ammonites, including protomicroammonites, finger-like ammonites, round-leaf ammonites, dentate ammonites... No matter how many species they are divided into, people can still recognize them at a glance. To some extent, they bear many similarities to today's nautilus. They vary in size, some are only a few centimeters, some are tens of centimeters, and the largest is said to be even as high as two meters.

Generally speaking, limestone is a relatively ordinary stone, but if it has some strange texture, it will make people feel that it is not lacking in ornamental. For example, a laminated limestone in Anhui was older than the now-extinct dinosaurs. Those nearly circular spirals make this ordinary rock seem to have become a work of art.

Calcified leaves are natural calcite leaves. After branches and branches fall down, the wood is slowly petrified by saturated calcium carbonate in underground surface water, like groups of artificially carved art. The texture of each leaf is very realistic. In fact, people are real plants, but they were formed in a very special geological environment.

Mamenxiosaurus, one of the largest salopod dinosaurs discovered in China, when I saw the skeleton, I thought it was a long-necked dinosaur. After all, people's necks were really long. The body length of this dinosaur can reach 37 meters, with the neck equivalent to half the body length.

However, there are many types of fossils, but not many can really calm down and admire them. After all, these fossils look really dusty and lack luster. Compared with brightly colored ores such as fluorite, aragonite, and malachite, it is undoubtedly too inferior.

There is a whole row of ore slices on one side of the exhibition hall. The bright colors and strange patterns make it difficult to believe that the plane cut out of those inconspicuous ores would be so beautiful!

Poetry to remember:

The civilizations of ancient countries are gorgeous, but today the sea has turned into mulberry fields.

As the morning passes and evening, the waves are exhausted, and the stars fall to the earth and fall to the old abyss.
