In the preface hall stands a 3.6-meter-high white marble statue of Chen Yun. Walking out of the memorial hall, you will see the "Weishi Pavilion" in front of you. Behind the Weishi Pavilion is Chen Yun's former residence.

Chen Yun's former residence is a cultural relic protection unit in Shanghai City

Chen Yun lost his father at the age of two and his mother at the age of four. He was adopted by his grandparents and changed his name to Liao Chenyun after his uncle Liao Wenguang's surname. Chen Yun's current former residence is the home of his uncles and aunts. Chen Yun lived in his uncle's house for 8 years (aged 6 to 14), and then went to the Shanghai Commercial Press to become an apprentice.

It is an old-fashioned Jiangnan residential building with a brick and wood structure, with a total construction area of 95.88 square meters and a two-story building.

The upstairs is the bedroom of Uncle Chen Yun's parents, and the downstairs is the room where Chen Yun lived. The furnishings in the former residence today basically maintain the original appearance of those days.

The front part of his former residence is a storefront, which was successively used by Chen Yun's uncle as a tailor shop and a small hotel to make a living.
