"Yunjian Granary" is named after Songjiang's nickname "Yunjian". It was originally a grain warehouse and factory built on this land from the 1950s to the 1990s. From Nanmen Grain Depot, Songjiang Rice Mill to Songjiang Flour Mill, these old granaries have witnessed the development and evolution of Shanghai's Songjiang grain and oil industry since the founding of New China. Today, this land, which carries the memories of many old Songjiang people and profound cultural and historical heritage, is rejuvenating, and the Yunjian Granary has turned into a cultural and creative industrial park. Let's go and have a look with my camera ~

The east gate of Yunjian Granary is located at No. 10053 Songjin Highway, Songjiang District, Shanghai. The Yunjian Granary covers an area of 136 acres, with a total of 68 buildings and a construction area of nearly 40000 square meters. Many special historical and cultural memories are preserved here-Xu Guangqi's representative work "Agricultural Zheng Quan Shu" in the late Ming Dynasty was published here; in 1705 and 1707, Kangxi arrived by boat twice, shooting arrows and hunting; the inscription "Notes on the Rebuilding of Puzhao Temple" engraved in 1894 was excavated in the Yunjian Granary. In the 1950s, the "Nanmen Grain Depot" was completed here, and then rice mills, flour mills, feed mills, etc. were born, witnessing the development and evolution of Songjiang's grain industry since the founding of New China.

Walking into the Yunjian Granary Park, the first thing you see is this device placed on the grain drying field. The name of this device is called "Singing for Yi". It is a "New Public Art Wood" work created by Chinese artist Zheng Bo. As an exhibition work at the 11th Shanghai Biennale hosted by the Shanghai Contemporary Art Wood Museum (PSA), it was exhibited at the Hong Kong Cultural Center. The device is expressed as a giant iron horn with a size of 11.4 meters long, 5.8 meters wide and 6 meters high. It organically combines public sculpture with technology, conveys the concept of diversity and communication, and adds a strong artistic and wooden atmosphere to the Yunjian Granary Park.

At the entrance to the park, you can see two rows of plain bungalows. When you walk in, you will find that the window is full of wine bottles. This is the Beer Aunt Museum. Standing on the empty grain drying field of the granary, you can see the red and blue tiles left by the original building collating scientific and technological and cultural elements on the roof, such as the roof mosaics of Einstein and Madame Curie.

Walking into the largest grain drying ground in the granary, there is an artistic graffiti of "Ten Deer and Nine Turning Back" on the huge house wall farthest away.

Czech-style double roof granary. Red bricks, red tiles, mottled walls, ancient doors and windows... Looking around, you can see the vicissitudes of history.

It has a strong dilapidated factory style, coupled with graffiti, it looks very interesting.

Renmin River Landscape Road has trees side by side and Soviet-style granary buildings on the other side.

From 1975 to 1983, the main warehouse type of the grain warehouse was bungalow, with brick walls bearing loads, concrete floors, and a grain loading height of 3-3.5 meters. The main roof structure adopted: reinforced concrete composite roof truss, reinforced concrete portal steel frame, prestressed reinforced concrete arch roof roof, etc.

The decoration design of the entire park follows the structure of the old factory building, without too much decoration, and is very retro. It retains the factory style of the 1950s and 1960s. Any casual photo will look very impressive.

There was once a stele "Notes on the Rebuilding of Puzhao Temple" engraved in the 20th year of Guangxu (1894) in the Yunjian Granary. It was written by Yuan Chang, a famous scholar in the late Qing Dynasty. It is made of bluestone, 138 cm in length, 71 cm in width, and 18 cm in thickness. The inscription has a total of 20 lines, with 40 words in each line. The stele carved in a corner has survived the changes of time. It has been seen again in today's Yunjian Granary Development Project and has now been moved to the Songjiang Museum.

The inscription "Notes on the Rebuilding of Puzhao Temple" engraved in 1894 was excavated here.

There is a bend at the intersection of Tongbo Pond and Renmin River, and a towering ancient tree has been planted. The ancient tree has thick branches and luxuriant leaves. It is a good place to take advantage of the shade. Looking from here, you can occasionally see people fishing across the river.

These Soviet-style granaries built along the river were important facilities for centralized grain storage and transportation and transfer in the Songjiang area after the founding of the People's Republic of China. Their grand scale at that time can be seen in terms of the quantity and volume preserved. Their special shape reflects the history of imitating the industrial and agricultural construction of the Soviet Union at the beginning of the founding of New China. At the same time, the building itself also has high scientific research value.

In the past few decades, although granaries and grain warehouses have played an important role, they have rarely appeared in front of the public, and the people engaged in granary management are not well known to outsiders.

The red handwriting is printed on the gray wall. The handwriting is not so clear due to traces of history. It is rare now. It is really precious, in sharp contrast to the gray and mottled facade of the granary. The long iron plate below is a weighbridge. The weighbridge is a special scale for granaries. Before loading grain into warehouses, there are many checkpoints, the quality of the grain needs to be inspected, and the weight of the grain must also be weighed to accurately weigh the weight of the grain.

As one of the remaining mechanical devices of the grain depot, this typhoon sieve specific gravity selection machine is currently on display on Yunjian Avenue. It integrates ultra-low-speed non-crushing elevator, vertical air screen, cyclone dust removal system, large-area specific gravity table, and vibrating grading screen.

The Yunjian Cultural and Creative Market, which was transformed into a granary, was held here for the 2020 Shanghai International Film and Television Festival-Shanghai Science and Technology Film Capital Film and Television Exhibition.

The empty granary is a suitable place for taking photos and an ideal base for photography enthusiasts to create passionately.

The dilapidated factory building, coupled with fashion shows, looks very interesting.

The Yunjian Granary has five-storey silos rare in Shanghai City. The eight silos are the most distinctive buildings in the park. They are 24 meters high and each silo has a diameter of 5.5 meters. It is mainly used for flour mills to store wheat and other materials to make reserves for flour production. At that time, each silo here could store about 500 tons of wheat, with an annual output of 37500 tons.

Inside the silo, the construction site office is temporarily used.

If you have the opportunity to come to Songjiang, which is known as the "root of Shanghai", you must experience this slow-paced and comfortable life and experience the architectural charm of the old granary!
