The epidemic that ravaged the world in 2020 has not stopped the pace of spring. Spring has returned to the earth, and everything has recovered. The bright sunshine has driven away the cold and haze of winter and ushered in vitality and hope. Although we still can't go hiking out of Shanghai, we can already go to the suburbs with green health codes. In order to live up to the spring glory and let go of the dull mood for too long, we decided to visit Jinshanzui Fishing Village.
On April 7th, the weather was fine, and we set off!
It takes an hour and a half to navigate from home to the fishing village, and there were very few cars on the road during the epidemic, making it very smooth. When driving on the Old Shanghai-Hangzhou Highway, it was unexpected that you had entered an endless forest tunnel. Tall and straight broad-leaved trees are planted on both sides of the winding road, with luxuriant branches and lush leaves. The sun penetrated into the gaps and sprinkled on the road, flashing and mottled, forming a beautiful picture like a dream. It has been a long time to talk about this highway. More than 80 years ago, it was the only passage from Shanghai to Hangzhou. It starts from the Xieshi Crossing of Xizang South Road in Shanghai and ends at Qingtaimen in Hangzhou. It connects Pinghu, Haiyan and Haining in Jiaxing. It is the first cross-provincial and municipal trunk national highway in my country that connects the entire line. Today, this road has withdrawn from the historical stage of a major traffic artery, but it still has the beautiful name of the "most beautiful road", which is indeed worthy of its name.
Many fishing villages in Shanghai have disappeared with the development of the times. Only Jinshanzui still lies on the bank of Hangzhou Bay on the coast of the East China Sea. It has a history of more than 6000 years and was once prosperous in fishery trade. It was the earliest and most preserved in Shanghai. The last "living" fishing village.
According to the innkeeper's instructions, the car parked on the seafood street on the Shanghai-Hangzhou Highway outside the fishing village, and the flavor of the fishing village immediately came to your face. On one side is the seafood restaurant and fisherman's inn overlooking Hangzhou Bay in a ratio of scales, and on the other side is filled with vendors selling fishing goods, with a wide variety of dried seafood. This street began in the 1980s, when fishermen came ashore to find another livelihood because of the huge decline in catch.
The ancient Zhulang Pavilion stands tall at the entrance of the village, welcoming guests coming and going and witnessing every detail of the fishing village. Follow a narrow blue stone road at your feet to lead to the fishing village in all directions.
Walking a few steps to Dingbo Bridge, standing on the bridge, the walls and tiles on both sides of the Yunshi River are painted with rich ancient charm. This is the first impression of the fishing village.
After crossing the bridge, you can see the high-hanging shop sign, Qinxuanju Inn, in the deep alley on the right. This was recommended by my best friend, and it did not disappoint me. Although the facade is small, it has a unique hole. I like the courtyard near the river best. It is full of spring scenery, antique and orderly. Choose a table covered with tie-dyed cloth, bathe in the warm sunshine, blowing the warm spring breeze, listening to the melodious piano music, accompanied by the gurgling running water, surrounded by flowers and green trees, brew a pot of tea, what is more comfortable than this? This is exactly the original ecology and slow life we are pursuing.
In fact, the most famous B & B is Yellow Fish Noodle. It is said that this is the first Yellow Fish Noodle Restaurant in the fishing village. It is also an Internet celebrity. Tourists from all over Shanghai come here. It was noon and we couldn't wait to eat it. The menu is very unique, with a fan, simple categories, and specialized in the industry. We ordered a yellow croaker noodle, yellow croaker wonton and a fried pork chop. The soup was thick. As the boss introduced, it was the original yellow fish bones cooked slowly, and it was extremely delicious with a little pickled vegetables. Compared with yellow croaker noodles, I think the yellow croaker wonton is more commendable. The yellow croaker in the filling is not crushed, but in pieces. It is tender but not rotten, and the heat is just right. The fried pork chops are very big and solid. They are not wrapped in flour like the outside, and they taste like they were when they were young. During the two days we were here, we saw the boss and the boss's wife busy collecting yellow croakers, removing bones, making wontons, making noodles, and serving guests from the early morning, and there was always an endless stream in the yard.
After eating, take a short rest in the room, lie in bed with large floor-to-ceiling windows on both sides, enjoy the pleasant view outside the window, and enjoy the sunshine shining in.
Perhaps it has been too long since we had close contact with nature. We walked from the fishing village to the city beach. The three-kilometer journey was not short, but we were not tired at all. When we came back, we rode a small yellow cart, having fun and excited as we were when we were teenagers. This road has been winding along the coastline, and the spring girl's paintbrush paints the land in a colorful manner. The sky is so blue, the grass is so green, the trees are so lush, and the flowers are so brilliant. We enjoy the gorgeous sunshine to our heart's content, breathe the fragrance of flowers and plants, and feast on the eye-catching colorful scenery. We are intoxicated in the embrace of spring!
Jinshan City Beach
There is actually a huge golden beach in Shanghai. With such blue and clear sea water, even if you just step on the sand and blow the sea breeze, you feel relaxed and happy. Looking around from the stands, you can see the blue sky, sunshine, beaches, waves, and palm trees. There is a southern scenery. This must be a paradise for children in summer.
In the evening, stroll through the fishing village. The place where the light suddenly shines is Xiangyu Lake in the village, named after the twin Xiangyu grown from water and grass. It is setting in the west, and the afterglow is dimpled with the blue sky and reflected on the lake. It is a magnificent picture of fishing singing at night.
In the village, there are old streets, narrow alleys, blue bricks and black tiles. After more than a thousand years of ebb and flow, the fishing village has more or less maintained its original appearance. To say that it is "alive", every corner is filled with a strong flavor of life and sea fishing culture. Walls painted with fishing themes, fish-shaped lanterns made of bamboo, a unique bar, and fisherman's B & Bs with different styles add endless petty bourgeoisie atmosphere and charm to the village. The homes of ordinary people that can be seen everywhere, the old barbershops and snack shops, the family rules on the walls, the flowers and plants in front and behind the halls, the elderly chatting and children jumping in the alleys, are showing the simple ancient customs and fireworks of the fishing village. Once again, I walked to the Dingbo Bridge and watched the river flow quietly under the reflection of the sunset, as if it recounted the long history and story of the fishing village for thousands of years...
According to the owner of the B & B, there are three seafood restaurants in the fishing village that have been operating since the 1980s. Tianqiao Hotel, Haihe Hotel and Guanghui Small Seafood chose Tianqiao for dinner. Just a few days after the epidemic, business was average. The two of us also arranged a private room facing the sea, with an elegant environment. The taste is more Zhejiang, which is more delicious and has a large amount of dishes. In addition to seafood such as razor clam, plum head fish, and longtou roast, there are also farm dishes such as braised tofu and dried bamboo shoots and roast pork, which all taste very good.
The fishing village is lit up by colorful lights at night, exuding charming elegance. The alley was empty, making it particularly deep and peaceful. We especially like such a simple village and such an isolated night. We hope to stay here for a while longer.
The stinky tofu in the old street is a memory of a generation
Dried vines, old trees and dark crows, small bridges and flowing water in people's homes.
Going back to the inn and chatting with the owner to understand different life experiences and insights is also one of the meanings of every trip we make. The owner pointed to the wall and said that the inn chose the character qin because he and the owner's wife both had the surname Wang and were born on the same day in the same month of the same year. Just like the paradise written by Tao Yuanming, a hut is built in a mountain, and you can only reach it by rowing a small boat through mountains and lakes. It is surrounded by birds and flowers, beautiful fields and beautiful ponds, traffic along the paths, chickens and dogs hear each other, men farming and women weaving, and they are happy...
On April 8, I woke up to the crisp and melodious sound of birds. The courtyard in the morning belongs to us, eating a bowl of delicious shepherd's purse wonton, drinking a cup of green tea, and teasing the cute puppy. Happiness is as simple as that.
Taking advantage of the good spring light, we once again walked into the fishing village, wanting to pick up leaks and make up for them and visit every corner of the village. Along the Yunshi River, we arrived at the trestle bridge. The scenery here is infinitely beautiful and the colors are bright, like an oil painting. The houses with white walls and black tiles on both sides of the strait are stacked on top of each other, and the long fishermen's gallery is colorful. Under the blue sky, it is particularly gorgeous. The old street is so quiet and seems to be completely undisturbed by the outside world. Even cats and dogs are happily basking in the sun and rolling around, creating a peaceful and peaceful scene.
The fishing village is not far away from you. When you have time, go stroll along the curved bluestone old street, enjoy the ancient village style of green bricks and white tiles, small bridges and flowing water, listen to the stories of fishermen inside and outside the ups and downs of the years and the sound of the waves, and taste the soft time of sitting by the water and filled with the smell of fishing!
