2021 2-day self-driving tour in Shanghai suburbs (Shanghai Automobile Expo Park, Qingpu Qinglong Temple)

During the New Year's Day holiday in 2021, considering the epidemic, we chose to travel on a self-driving tour in the suburbs of Shanghai. In order to find the feeling of driving on a road trip, I decided to stay out for one night. The entire journey is 110.0 kilometers.


January 1, 2021 (Shanghai weather: sunny to cloudy,-2.7 to 4.1 degrees)

At 12:50, we set off from our home in Pudong, Shanghai.

At 13:31, we arrived at Jiangqiao Toll Station of Shanghai-Nanjing Expressway and traveled a total of 28.7 kilometers.

At 13:40, I arrived at the Jiasong Highway Toll Station of Shanghai-Nanjing Expressway. A total of 40.3 kilometers were driven and the highway toll was 6.65 yuan.

The tall building ahead is the Ruili Hotel Shanghai Motor City where we are going to stay.

Stay at Ruili Hotel Shanghai Automobile City, superior twin room, 398 yuan (excluding breakfast). The hotel is "zero distance" from Shanghai Automobile Expo Park, diagonally opposite the east gate of the park. The hotel building is triangular, and rooms facing southeast and southwest sides have lake views. We live on the 19th floor, facing north, and can only see the city view. In the distance, we can see the high-speed rail and subway Line 11 passing by.

The hotel is positioned as a five-star standard, with a swimming pool, gym and cinema. Shanghai Automobile Expo Park and Shanghai Automobile Museum are nearby. It is a very good hotel for parent-child tours. The underground parking garage has 2 floors, with many parking spaces and parking spaces on the ground. It is less than 1 kilometer walk from Shanghai Automobile City Station on Metro Line 11, and it is also easy to get there by subway from the city. The interior of the hotel rooms is decorated in a simple style. Except for the lack of a bathtub and the small bathroom, it is basically in line with the standards of a five-star hotel. The air conditioner in the room is running quietly and the heating is sufficient. Compared with some "old five-star" hotels, this store is cleaner and easy to accept by young people. Our order did not include breakfast and it was said that the hotel's breakfast buffet was quite good.

There were many elevators up and down the stairs, and the waiting time was very short. I didn't meet other guests riding with me several times.

Boyuan Road is an intelligent networked vehicle test road, that is, driverless vehicles are tested here.

East Gate of Shanghai Automobile Expo Park.

Shanghai Automobile Expo Park, open for free. This is a comprehensive park with the themes of car entertainment, car exhibitions, and car culture, with a total construction area of 768,000 square meters. The park has a large lake, which is very rare in Shanghai.

To the south of the park is the Wusong River. There is a bridge across the river. From there, you can see the intersection of Suzhou River and Yuzao Bang eastward.

When we returned to the east gate of the park, it was dark and there were almost no tourists.

In the evening, go to Jiatinghui City Life Plaza, which is located next to Anting Station on Metro Line 11, less than 2 kilometers away from the hotel.

Dinner was held at Wangxiangyuan Anting Store on the third floor of Jiatinghui City Life Plaza. The cost was 281 yuan after discount.

January 2, 2021 (Shanghai weather: sunny to cloudy,-1.0 to 7.1 degrees)

Drive to Qinglong Temple in Qingpu District, about 8 kilometers away, and pass Baihe Town on the way. Baihe Strawberry is a specialty of Qingpu District, Shanghai City and a geographical indication of national agricultural products.

Jihe Highway.

Jiyun Zen Temple Tower (Qinglong Tower), a cultural relics protection unit in Shanghai City re-announced on September 7, 1962 and September 29, 1982. It dates from the Changqing Period of the Tang Dynasty (821 - 824) and is located in Qinglong Village, Baihe Town, Qingpu District. In the Tang and Song Dynasties, Qinglong Town was once Shanghai's largest foreign trade port and was known as "Little Hangzhou". Qinglong Tower was a landmark building in the town. The Qinglong Tower was originally a seven-level eight-sided brick and wood structure. It was later destroyed by war fire. Now only the tower body built in the Song Dynasty remains, with a residual height of more than 30 meters.


Qinglong Temple is a cultural relics protection unit in Qingpu District, with a incense certificate of 10 yuan.

On the way back to Shanghai.

At the corner of Jiasong Middle Road on Jihe Highway. The roadside setting in the figure below can prevent large trucks from causing traffic accidents due to blind spots.

At 13:03, we arrived at the Jiasong Highway Toll Station of Shanghai-Nanjing Expressway and drove a total of 70.0 kilometers.

At 13:11, I arrived at the Jiangqiao Toll Station of Shanghai-Nanjing Expressway. A total of 81.3 kilometers were traveled and the highway toll was 6.65 yuan.

At 14:05, I returned to my home in Pudong, Shanghai. I drove a total of 110.0 kilometers and the average fuel consumption was 7.8 liters/100 kilometers.
