1. About Shanghai Metro

1. According to statistics from January 2019, the total length of Shanghai rail transit network operation lines has reached 705 kilometers (676 kilometers of subway +29 kilometers of maglev), the number of stations has increased to 415 (413 subway +2 maglev), and the number of transfer stations has increased to 57. The total mileage has ranked first in the country, which is a figure that Shanghai people are proud of.

2. The driverless subway line in operation in Shanghai is the Pujiang Line. Although the line is not long, with a total length of 6.644 kilometers, 4 sections, 6 stations, and a top speed of 80 kilometers per hour, it is Shanghai's first APM rail transit line (i.e., the fully automated people's rapid transit system) was put into trial operation on March 31, 2018. On April 3, 2018, the Shanghai Metro Pujiang Line transported more than 7000 passengers during the morning rush hour, with the logo color gray.

3. According to the plan, by the end of 2020, the scale of rail transit operations in Shanghai City will exceed 830 kilometers. After the implementation of the Shanghai City Rail Transit Recent Construction Plan (2017-2025) project, the scale of the rail transit network will reach 24 lines, with a total length of more than 1000 kilometers and a total of more than 600 stations.

Regarding several data on the Shanghai subway, the station with the most transferable lines is not People's Square, but Century Avenue Station in Pudong, and transfer to 4 subway lines at the same time. 5. The longest Shanghai subway line is Line 11, with a total length of about 82.4 kilometers. It exceeds the Central Line of London Metro in the UK and passes through Pudong New District, Xuhui District, Changning District, Putuo District, Jiading District and Suzhou, Jiangsu Province of Shanghai City. It is also the first cross-provincial subway line in China.

6. The Shanghai Metro has a total of 17 lines, including 15 digital lines, namely: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 16, and 17; one text line: Pujiang Line; and one maglev line.

7. In theory, there should be 34 starting and ending stations for 17 lines. There are also three digital lines: 5, 10, and 11 have branch lines, so there should be a total of 37 starting and terminal stations. Since Line 4 is a loop operation, there is theoretically no starting and terminal station. However, Line 4 does not operate in an unlimited cycle without stopping. It opens whenever it stops. Its daily starting station can be regarded as Line 4. The starting station, which is located on Yishan Road.

If the situation of Line 4 is considered separately for the time being, the remaining 16 Shanghai Metro lines should have 35 starting and ending stations. However, since the starting and terminal stations of some Shanghai Metro lines overlap with the starting and terminal stations of other lines, such as Xinzhuang Station is both the starting and terminal station of Line 1 and Line 5, Xinzhuang Station cannot be a separate starting and terminal station for a certain line. In addition, the starting and ending stations of some lines overlap with stations in the middle of other lines. For example, Dongfang Sports Center is a mutual transfer station for Line 8 and Line 11, but it is also a starting and ending station for Line 6. There are a total of 10 stations in this case. In this way, excluding maglev and Line 4, there are actually only 23 separate starting and ending stations for the 16 Shanghai Metro lines.

8. The two starting and ending stations of the maglev are not separate. One end of it is Longyang Road, which is the mutual transfer station for Line 2 and Line 7, and is also the starting and ending station for Line 16. The other starting and terminal of the maglev is Pudong International Airport, which coincides with the starting and terminal of Line 2.


2. Check-in at 23 starting and terminal stations

Being idle led to a sudden impulse. In December, I spent part of the 13 days traveling through the 23 starting and terminal stations of the Shanghai subway. When I changed to online language, I checked in. What did I see from this call? What do you feel? Today, let's share it with you.

Line 4 is a loop operation and theoretically has no starting and ending stations. However, Line 4 does not run in an unlimited cycle without stopping. It opens whenever it stops. Its daily start station can be regarded as the starting and ending station of Line 4. This station is on Yishan Road.

Moreover, Line 4 describes Yishan Road as follows: the outer circle of Line 4, Yishan Road-Hongqiao Road; the inner circle of Line 4. Yishan Road-Shanghai Gymnasium.

5. Fengxian Xincheng Station

There was no outbound check-in because the extension line of Line 10 outside the station was under construction. 3. Feeling after checking in at the 23 starting and ending stations of the Shanghai Metro

1. The subway is too time-consuming. In the past, I thought that the subway was fast because the transportation lines were underdeveloped, the roads were not smooth, and there were no private cars. Today, I took the subway, calculated the time, and arrived at my destination, but I was not as fast as driving myself. Some don't even have a direct bus to save time.

In addition to the three rail transit lines of Line 5, Line 17, and Pujiang Line, the Shanghai subway line has more than 20 short stops and more than 30 long stops. The short ones take more than an hour one way, and the long ones take more than two hours. I don't know, but I can easily understand that if I take the high-speed train this time, I will have already reached the nearby provincial capital city, and I have already walked for half an hour to Beijing.

2. The subway is inconvenient. Since the subway often needs to transfer, in fact, every transfer will feel inconvenient. It is common to walk around inside and around, sometimes up and down. It is common to walk for a few minutes. In order to avoid the danger of crowded people during peak periods, many railings are artificially set up to divert traffic. However, during off-peak hours, these railings and diversion measures become obstacles and feel inconvenient and uncomfortable. The inconvenience of the subway also lies in the fact that due to the line, the subway either detours under the feet of city citizens, or circles above the citizens "heads".

3. The subway gives you a new understanding of Shanghai. When taking the subway in the city, I basically don't feel like going in and out because it doesn't change much. When you sit and leave every station and take a look, you will feel that you will find new discoveries and feelings every time. Do you even suspect that you are in Shanghai? Because the contrast is too big. This is not only because of remoteness and desolation, but also because there is a feeling of being across provinces. In some places, you can't see Shanghainese, but when you hear Shanghainese, you can tell others that he has just returned from Shanghai.

4. The subway makes it convenient for real estate salesmen. As soon as some sites leave the station, someone is selling you real estate with a foreign accent. For example, Fujin Road and Meilan Lake. The subway to Huaqiao is even more outrageous. As soon as the train passed Anting Station and exited the boundaries of Shanghai City, someone in the carriage actually directly held a single advertisement in the carriage to promote real estate projects.

5. There are not many people to see when you exit the subway. At some stations, few people accompany them out of the station, and no one is even visible when they exit the station, such as Dongfang Green Boat, Dishui Lake, Songjiang South Railway Station, Fengxian New City and other stations.

6. You have to walk thousands of meters to get out of the subway to find food. When Dishui Lake left the station, it was already lunchtime. When I looked up, I couldn't see the stores, not even small supermarkets or convenience stores. I saw a city management guard box at the intersection. I went to ask where I could find a place to eat, and answered that you had to take the first and second roads.

7. The place where the subway reaches is not livable. The Shanghai subway is indeed convenient to connect to the railway station and the airport, which really brings convenience and economy to long-distance travel. The current Shanghai subway can reach two airports (Pudong and Hongqiao), two high-speed rail stations (Hongqiao and Songjiang South Railway Station), and two ordinary railway stations (Shanghai Railway Station and Shanghai South Railway Station). However, the rest of the starting and ending stations, except for those close to the urban area, which do bring convenience to the residents living there, those starting and ending stations far away from the urban area are really not suitable in terms of living. Not counting medical treatment and school, there are too few options for daily business, leisure and entertainment, and living supporting facilities.

8. Subway travel costs are not low. For residents who live far away from the city, the subway has always become their only choice. However, the cost of traveling to and from the city by subway is not low. It costs 10 yuan to ride the subway back and forth is a basic consumption. If you have to take the bus, the cost is even higher. A family of three goes out once a day, which is a considerable expense in January.
