Shanghai Poly Theater is located at No. 159 Baiyin Road, Jiading New City Administrative and Cultural Center, Jiading New City. It is one of the landmark cultural facilities in Shanghai. The natural scenery dominated by water and greening is slowly unfolding. The theater was designed by Japanese architect Tadao Ando, winner of the Pritzker Architecture Award. After inspecting physical buildings, Ando called them "the best embodiment of the works he designed" in China.

During the day, it is like a jade filled with many secrets sitting quietly on the bank of Yuanxiang Lake. You can view it from a distance but not play with it.

Walking into the Grand Theater in all directions and exploring the situation, the lines and arcs crossed and stacked, it seemed that reinforced concrete could also become soft.

The theater has a total construction area of 56,000 square meters and a total investment of about 700 million yuan. It has a large theater with 1466 seats and a small theater with 400 seats, as well as two unconventional theaters, the rooftop theater and China's first waterscape theater. It can meet the performance needs of symphony concerts, large-scale song and dance dramas, drama and opera performances, comprehensive cultural performances and other types of programs, and its architectural sound effects reach the top domestic level of architectural acoustics and stage equipment functional configuration.

As soon as I entered the Grand Theater of the Poly Theater, I felt the solemnity and style inside the theater. Not only is it beautiful, it is also very professional. Wooden walls and advanced sound transmission systems create a world-class theater. It was an exciting experience for both the performers and the audience who came from afar.

Poly Theater also has the only waterscape theater in Shanghai, which is the most special one of the four theaters in the theater. It is cleverly designed into a semi-indoor space, using the auditorium to connect the interior of the theater to create an artistic conception of the lake and the building blending.

This is also a veritable "waterscape theater." The building combines natural elements such as water, wind, and light. There are viewing platforms in all directions. The audience can see different landscapes from different angles, realizing the combination of architecture and environment.

Each simple cylinder constitutes public functional spaces such as entrances, lounge halls, and traffic lines. The simple exterior shape forms a sharp contrast with the rich interior space.
