There is such a museum in Shanghai,
Located in the mysterious Dishui Lake,
This is a must-visit exhibition hall for ocean lovers every year.
Because there will be many special exhibitions and precious collections that are praised for,
Waiting for you to discover it again and again ~
A special exhibition will give me a reason to check in once.
This special exhibition is an exhibition of cultural relics from the wreck of the "Taixing"~
The China Navigation Museum, located in Nanhui New City, Shanghai, is also the first national-level navigation museum. When I first visited Nanhui New City, I felt the strong marine cultural theme of this area. It is not only the iconic location of the Navigation Museum, but also schools specializing in oceans such as Maritime University. Further deep into the sea, you can also cross the bridge and go to the distant Yangshan Deepwater Port... There are too many stories about the sea. In this land, let's start with the China Navigation Museum and tell the story here today.
Although for a regular visitor, I am going for the special exhibition, I would like to introduce the Navigation Museum to you in the best order of the museums ~
Museum treasure
When I come to the China Navigation Museum, the first thing I am shocked must be its majestic appearance, like a huge sail sailing on two leaves, swimming on the sea. Being immersive is probably the biggest feeling I feel every time I come to the museum, so I believe that everyone who comes to the museum feels the same. This beautiful appearance is a treasure of the museum.
Another treasure of the museum was the second shock after we entered the venue with the crowd. The design of the venue is to go to the second floor first and see the treasure of the town hall-the Ming Dynasty Fu Boat from the most central and best position. Then go down to the first floor and visit the venues in order.
I have to say that the four-story-high Ming Dynasty Fu Boat is really the most shocking. It sits in the center of the venue. This model of the ancient Fu Boat, which restores the ancient Fu Boat one-to-one, also allows everyone to witness the ancient Chinese ships and the long history of navigation!
Nowadays, the experience of boarding the Fu Boat is very free, but I won't join in the fun. I can see the shape and details of the Fu Boat from multiple angles and directions. The viewing space on the third floor is equally exciting, so don't miss it ~
Navigation History Museum
The Navigation History Museum, as the name suggests, tells the history of Chinese ships and navigation. This is my favorite venue, because it can travel in the ocean of knowledge and understand the story of human beings 'initial contact with water, ships, and oceans, and their step-by-step development to this day. It is in-depth and has a treasure collection, which is particularly exciting.
Starting from sheepskin rafts, the entire story of boats sailing across rivers began. The earliest people used buoyancy to start the story of river drifting and also began the life and labor on the water surface.
Although ancient ships, even called boats, were so simple, they supported people's lives for many years. You can still see these "canoes" in Lugu Lake. They may seem crude, but local people still use them to fish and catch shrimp in the river.
There is also another very valuable treasure in the Navigation Museum, which is the Spring and Autumn Winged Warship. This warship is made of gold, which perfectly interprets the warships of the Spring and Autumn and Warring States Period.
Judging from the details and scale of the ship, Wu's economic strength and production technology level were quite good at that time.
In the next venue, there are many exquisite and beautiful ship models. These are replicas of ancient shipwrecks found in Quanzhou Bay and are lucky ships. Looking carefully, the model boat is very exquisite and beautifully designed. The replica is enough to reflect the brilliant development at that time.
The clay statue of the Minister of the Sea Patrol unearthed in Xianying Palace in Changle in 1992 seems to be like a prototype of Zheng He and his entourage traveling to the West. Moreover, Zheng He also set sail from Fuzhou Changle to the West every time ~
There is a window showing the entire rudder, which was salvaged at the Yangtze River estuary and is similar to the "Liuzuotang" in Nanjing during the Ming Dynasty. It is also rare to see such a well-preserved rudder.
China's artistic achievements in all aspects are very outstanding internationally, so it has been loved by foreign countries not only from various carvings, porcelain, etc. Export export was a popular trade method at that time. Many porcelain styles are still made in China to suit foreign preferences.
Exported silverware is also one of the hottest products. It is popular among Westerners for its superb craftsmanship, diverse shapes, high quality and low prices. For example, this 19th century silver chasm hollow flower-pattern bowl was very exquisite at that time.
The time goes back to the Opium War. This was a sad era. Trade with foreign countries also brought with it the desires of some great powers. It was the sad history that inspired the Chinese people and began to vigorously pursue their own shipbuilding industry.
There are many exquisite ship models in the exhibition hall, which allow us to review the wonderful history. The ship model in the center of the exhibition hall is the Idun, a steam-powered postal ship, the first merchant ship used in modern China.
A ship outside the modern exhibition hall was a wooden boat used by the People's Liberation Army in the Battle of Crossing the River in 1949. It is a national-level cultural relic.
Ship Hall
After learning about history, we strolled to the Ship Museum, where we took a look at how ships were built. This venue is also a very popular venue, with many people and more parents. Everyone is keen on it.
The four different prows represent prows with different designs and different functions. They will be used on ships in different regions. If you understand it deeply, you will discover how powerful people are in navigation technology.
The most eye-catching thing in the exhibition hall is the model of the entire ship, and there is a cut section in the middle, showing the real work, inventory, crew life, etc. on the ship from all angles. The exquisiteness of the model also makes us sigh.
This is really a paradise for children. They are all addicted to the experience and are unwilling to leave for a long time. The most interesting thing about the museum is this educational and entertaining model, with smiles always on the children's faces.
Around the hull are the internal structures and main working parts of various ships. Although we may not necessarily understand them, the degree of precision can be imagined.
Maritime rescue equipment is also part of the ship, including hovercraft, fire extinguishers, life jackets, etc. Through the popularization of knowledge, we learned that life jackets are designed to be orange, which is because the fluorescence is obviously easy to detect. In addition, there is a poisonous sea snake that is orange, and sharks will avoid this color, so that people floating on the sea will be Very safe!
There is also a large wooden boat in the other exhibition hall, which is a fast boat from the Ming Dynasty. Recover at a 1:2 ratio. This wooden boat is equipped with draping boards on both sides. We saw the internal details from the dissection, and everyone understood the ship's manufacturing process faster.
As a girl in the industrial department, such beautiful hull drawings make me feel the beauty of art. Through these engineering drawings, modern ships were created, as if a magic exercise.
Although we were unable to visit the shipyard, this lovely model restored the busy scene of the shipyard. We visit one by one and watch the boat step by step from 0 to 1. This process will also be touching.
The welding experience hall has finally opened, and it is also a paradise for children. Although they may not necessarily understand what they are doing, seeing these children working hard to build a line under the leadership of their parents, they also received everyone's encouragement.
seafarers 'hall
When talking about the construction of ships, we need to talk about the main body of navigation-people. As a profession, seafarers have experienced various developments from ancient times to the present, accompanied by the vigorous development of the marine industry. The navigation industry relies on them, and they are also witnesses to the navigation industry.
Seafarers, as an indispensable part of the maritime industry, come to understand their maritime life. I hear about seafarers every day, that is, the seafarers who have been at sea for several months as mentioned in news or documentaries, and I really admire their hardships.
It is not easy to live in such a small space in the seafarers 'rooms on ships.
The simulator of sailing can feel the captain's perspective in the room. Although the scene is in the city, the actual feeling of seasickness is already coming to your face, and many people can not stay long before withdrawing.
The popular experience project has finally opened with a sailor's knot. Many children lined up to experience it. There are special teachers teaching, and they also have a great time. In fact, as long as you are serious, all kinds of knots will be easy ~
Maritime and Maritime Safety Museum
Walking through the exhibition hall on the first floor, we came to the second floor. Compared with a year ago, the Maritime Safety Hall has reopened. The content is very rich, describing maritime safety issues closely related to navigation from various aspects and angles.
In fact, China's water safety industry can be traced back to a long time. According to written records, officials specialized in ship management were established in the Zhou Dynasty, which has a history of 3000 years.
With continuous development and innovation, there are more and more positions, regulations, and certificates related to maritime and water-related affairs and are becoming more and more comprehensive. Nowadays, many departments and companies maintain maritime navigation and achieve global integration. It is still very impressive.
Maritime safety also includes lighthouses on islands and reefs, referring to navigation lights, etc. These are all necessary items to guide the correct route. I didn't understand it at first. It turned out that there was a prism that was actually a component of the lighthouse's lamp. It was such a complex design that would have various rays.
When it comes to maritime navigation, we must talk about maritime surveying and mapping. Even in the ancient era when there were no professional instruments, intelligent working people used their methods to map the original charts. The navigator Zheng He traveled to the West seven times and mapped the farthest reaches of the Cape of Good Hope., providing important data for future generations.
There are also special commemorations in some special areas in the exhibition, such as the reefs of the South China Sea Islands, which have commemorative significance after people arrive.
Maritime search and rescue is also a very important part of maritime safety. The maritime rescue system is now very complete and also helps everyone working at sea to provide important backup. In fact, rescue is not just a matter of work, but also covers travel for ordinary people.
Finally, he also talked about the part of searching for secrets in the deep sea. This is also the direction in which all countries are working hard to develop. Everyone wants to see the secrets of the deepest part of the ocean, and hopes to have more wonderful discoveries to share with everyone in the future.
Navigation and Ports
In the last chapter of the exhibition, let's learn about sailing technology and port-related stories. Each part of the exhibition is very important to navigation and the most important part of the navigation industry.
There are many old objects, all neatly placed in the window. These are all instruments used to ensure the safety of navigation in the long history of history. Although the instruments are being innovated, their functions and needs are consistent. Astronomical clocks, sextants, and octants allow us to see growth.
The design of many ships is also related to the safety of the port, such as dredgers. If you are interested, you can learn about Xiayangshan Deepwater Port. There are many stories from the construction of this port to its development into an important port.
Finally, there are the reappearance of various scenes, including some of our nostalgic past and the prosperous appearance of Shanghai's port.
This is the current prosperous scene in Tianjin Port.
Shanghai Yangshan Deepwater Port. I have always recommended it. It is also very convenient to Shanghai, especially when you have arrived at Dishui Lake, which can be reached directly on the Donghai Bridge. You must go and see the majestic momentum of the country's current deep-water port.
Another port is Wusong's International Cruise Terminal. If you have traveled on Japanese and Korean cruises in your early years, you have seen the style of a cruise terminal. Considering that large ships could not cross the Huangpu River bridge, this cruise terminal was built at the Yangtze River estuary, which also created good departure port conditions for international cruise tourism.
Special Exhibition of Cultural Relics from the Shipwreck of the Taixing
I really want to blow up the special exhibitions of the Navigation Museum. Every special exhibition is particularly exciting and leaves us still wanting. When I first arrived on the first floor this time, I was deeply attracted. The special exhibition was the cultural relics of the sinking and water of the "Taixing"! This is really an exhibition that cannot be met and sought!
Not many people arrived early in the morning, so I can quietly enjoy the exhibition for a while! Generally, after 11 o'clock, the entire museum will be crowded.
The story begins in the Qing Dynasty. It was a merchant ship "Taixing" and the largest ocean-going wooden sailboat at that time. It set out in 1822, but unfortunately, it hit a rock and sank on the way to Indonesia. At that time, in addition to commercial products, there were nearly 2000 people on board.
At that time, the ship's cargo involved all aspects, including ceramics, silk, tea, spices, etc. The ship temporarily changed its route to avoid pirates, which led to the shipwreck.
The ancient nautical compass is full of a sense of age at first glance, and it was also a must-have for sailing in the past.
The restored model of the merchant ship "Taixing", as well as the cargo hold of silk, tea, porcelain and other goods displayed at that time, are still very spectacular!
Then, the story developed to salvage. In 1999, an Australia company speculated the location based on the records of rescuing people by another ship, the Indiana. Finally, it discovered the Taixing on the seabed and salvaged 35w porcelain. It has a wide variety of products and is extremely exquisite. It is a feast of art.
At first, these Dehua porcelain was salvaged and then flowed into foreign markets after capital auction. Many overseas Chinese spent a lot of time and money to help the country recover these porcelain, so this return journey was also called the "Long Sailing Home".
The types of porcelain on display in the exhibition are very rich, and the patterns are also very beautiful. If you like your friends, you can really be intoxicated by this. Ganoderma lucidum patterns, flower patterns, brocade ground opening, etc. are pleasing to the eye.
Most of the porcelain salvaged are Dehua porcelain, and Dehua white porcelain also has the reputation of "Chinese white" in the world market because its glaze hides milky white under the light.
Of course, many porcelains have been discovered. These are all superb skills of the ancients, and they can be regarded as returning to their hometown intact!
Dehua was one of China's three major porcelain capitals at that time. It was also the salvage of this Oriental "Titanic" that allows us to see the ceramic culture of 200 years ago today in 2021. It has a long history, extensive and profound history, and is a source for future generations. sigh.
Fun sailing experience
The experience of the Navigation Museum is really full. The hydrophilic platform has special sailing model training. This is an interesting experience that people who like sailing will want to check in once. I have participated in this event with many parent-child families. It seems that children will like such an entertaining and educational project during the holidays!
First, label yourself a small sailing label, pick up your own sailboat, and let's go ~
There were professional teachers on the scene who taught me how to operate a sailboat. You should know, if you come blindly, the sailboat model will capsize, haha ~
Today's weather is excellent, and it's a good time to set sail. However, considering safety issues, the children can only remotely control the boat on the steps, and the boat will be lowered by a professional teacher.
Under the teacher's guidance and operation, soon, the children's sailboats sailed smoothly and swam freely in the lake.
