Do you ask foreigners to spend 1 minute to find a reliable Western restaurant in Shanghai?

reliable

Chinese friends are divided into two types,

One is someone who has eaten together,

One of them doesn't.

My foreign friends in China are also divided into two types.

One is to find your own restaurant,

One way to find me.

I still can't forget the first time I asked a foreign friend to eat Shanghai wonton. I have forgotten the taste of wonton, but I still remember everyone discussing for a long time about calling it "Noodles", Wonton or "Dumplings". Italian dumplings are called Ravioli and are customarily classified as pasta. When using the word "consultation", the first thing is that I don't want to impose a "name" on them. After all, even if there are similar foods, people's perceptions are different. Besides, even if it's the love bean who accompanies you to cook TV drama porridge every day on your mobile phone, and the affectionate "husband ~" in your mouth, the girl opposite you may despise saying,"Who is it?!"

To be serious, many Chinese people of the older generation are still used to cooking steaks with large steaks. They are thick, well-done, and even soft and chewy. If they serve such a dish to foreigners, they will probably think that you are breaking up. But I personally don't think there is anything wrong. Even in the north and south, the understanding of steamed buns, steamed buns and noodles is half a century worse than eating habits. Taste is a particularly personal matter.

A few days ago, a friend from the second watch came to ask me how to quickly find a city's specialty old food restaurant. My first reaction was not to bother to search, but to find a review website! But this is not everything. I am a little confused at the thought of going to some relatively economically underdeveloped places or stores with good business enough to refuse publicity.

Or, people may be using other advanced systems, such as the "human flesh system", and in the end, they still have to find reliable local gourmets to manage them.

No matter how big and broad, if there are cultural and customary differences, such as asking me to go to Japan to use tablog and yelp in the United States, I will have a lack of IQ. Many people, like me, really have no habits and are too lazy to download. The same is true for foreigners in China. In Shanghai, where tens of thousands of restaurants are located, you can quickly find a Western restaurant that can withstand tearing prices and experience. It is the dragon among foreigners.

It's actually not that complicated. A few days ago, foreign friends told me that a book "Hungry in SHANGHAI" was released. Following the Bali and Singapore under The Asia Collective, it is another dining guide that is very friendly to foreign friends.

This is the booklet. The initiator is Mona Weber, a very elegant blonde lady, atypical Finnish, and her job is an interior designer. The reason why she is atypical is that most Finns are calm and reserved, but she is a foodie who particularly loves communication, so she wrote while walking and completed this book. All the stores are her familiar experiences. She has a sharp perspective on the restaurant's decoration and tableware, and she can tell at a glance whether the owner is attentive. She believes that everything from ingredients to cooking to utensils is part of the ingenuity, and the whole can be seen from the details. I said, I finally found the Finnish version of the Lonely Gourmet!

The 40 pairs of tableware on site actually represent the 40 restaurants with different styles but impressive styles in the book. It's all Mona's own design. She loves to travel around to collect design inspiration, secretly told me that she has a lot of plates at home. Because she loves the design of plates, her husband said that just for the mountain-like plates, she could not wash the plates for 365 days at home.

She said that many people view restaurants from different perspectives. For example, for foreign tourists, most people value the experience more. Faced with the numerous catering industry, not to mention tourists who are new to the city, reliable restaurants are definitely difficult to find. Even for people who have lived for a long time, it is normal to change the street surface of restaurants every three months. "Hunger Shanghai" is the answer to the problem.

"Through Hunger Shanghai, we hope to provide local residents and tourists with a list of our favorite high-quality restaurants and recommend exciting and unforgettable dining out experiences," Mona said.

This makes me look forward to this booklet. When I first arrived at the press conference, I was captured by the black and gold details inside. I opened the legendary exquisite booklet, which contained 40 selected award-winning restaurants, fashionable cafes and terrace bars...

Mona said she is a huge fan of Scandinavian style home because it makes her feel like home. Among them, her favorite brands are Artek in Finland and Vitra furniture brand in Switzerland.

Now let's talk about the Shanghai restaurants recommended by Mona. Many foreign friends say they are treasures. The key is that she has also prepared a lot of coupons! She secretly told me that the cost of the 350 yuan booklet was already exceeded by the wine delivered by the event restaurant, which was really a good deal.

Let's follow the map now and see where foreigners in Shanghai will gain weight in the future.
