The roots of Shanghai

Shanghai is so big! I have come many times, but I always make new discoveries and gains. This city gives me the feeling that the pace of life is too fast, traffic jams will occur if there is a word of disagreement, and subways and buses will be crowded, but this is also its charm as an international metropolis! I have visited the urban area many times, so this time I wanted to have a deeper understanding of the origin of Shanghai through the colorful surface, so I set my sights on Songjiang District.
Why Songjiang? Because the Shanghai building complex 4000 years ago was discovered at the Guangfulin site in Songjiang, and five tombs containing human bones were excavated for the first time, a large number of cultural relics from the Neolithic Era and the Zhou, Han, Song, Yuan and other periods were unearthed, providing rich and detailed physical materials for the restoration of ancient history of Songjiang District and even Shanghai City. Therefore, Songjiang District has the saying of "Shanghai's roots", which is the origin of the city.

This trip to Songjiang, Shanghai took two days and visited eight attractions including Guangfulin Cultural Heritage Park. The rest included Yunjian Granary, Thames Town, Sijing Ancient Town, Shanghai Film and Television Park, and Laiyifen Snacks Museum, Fangta Garden, and Zuibaichi Scenic Area. The overall feeling given to me is this. Songjiang is the "root of Shanghai", but the scenic area is not stuffy at all. It is very modern and fashionable, and full of "Internet celebrity" attributes, which is very in line with the temperament of Shanghai. If you don't believe me, come and have a look!

Guangfulin Cultural Relics Park

Guangfulin was originally called Huangfu Lin and Guangfulin. In ancient times, it belonged to the category of Huating Valley and gave birth to the splendid ancient culture of Guangfulin. It was the cultural, political, economic and transportation center of eastern Wu in ancient times... Until the establishment of Huating County in the Tang Dynasty, the Ming and Qing Dynasties created the glory of Songjiang and has profound cultural heritage. Although not all the buildings in the current ruins park are left behind, the comprehensive venue is a good place to understand the history and culture of Songjiang and even Shanghai.

In my opinion, the modern buildings in the Guangfulin Cultural Site are very consistent with the design aesthetics and are very interesting in themselves. I also gained a lot of historical knowledge in the visiting venues in the park. For example, as early as the late Neolithic Age four to five thousand years ago, rice was widely planted in the area. The long history of farming shows that the area has advanced agricultural production methods.

Among them, the Guangfulin Archaeological Site Exhibition Hall is definitely one of the must-check venues. Its main body consists of three independent exhibition halls and a main hall. It displays 159 groups of cultural relics. Among them, three bronze statues are the first bronze relics unearthed in Guangfulin. Bronze ritual vessels. As the earliest ritual practice of Zhou Rites Culture, bronzes also reflected that Guangfulin was already a developed society at that time, which was of great significance.

Yunjianliangchang

Songjiang also has a very pleasant nickname called "Yunjian". After the founding of the People's Republic of China, a large grain warehouse was built next to Fangta Garden in the south of Songjiang's old city, named "Yunjian Granary". However, with the rapid development of Shanghai, the Yunjian Granary's function as a grain storage has been abandoned. However, the granary has been preserved and developed into a cultural industrial park. There are many examples in China where abandoned factories like this have eventually become "Internet celebrity check-in spots", such as Chongqing Eling No. 2 Factory, which became popular due to movies, Chengdu's Eastern Suburb Memory, etc. Therefore, before I came here, my expectations for Yunjian Granary were not low.

In fact, as early as the Ming Dynasty, Songjiang was the main source and storage place of grain grains of the feudal court, and one of the main grain distribution centers in Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces, thus forming a unique grain culture. Today's "Yunjian Granary" retains many Soviet-style granary buildings not long after the founding of the People's Republic of China. The style is very distinctive and has traces of imitating industrial and agricultural buildings in the former Soviet Union. It was also a common phenomenon in domestic factories at that time. Today, the mottled and peeling old walls and rusty old equipment are witnesses to Songjiang's rapid development.

The new landmark of Yunjian Granary is a series of art graffiti, art venues and online wine houses developed and built by the park. It is a good place to travel, relax, and experience culture and art. I especially like these graffiti on the wall. I use my camera to record them on almost every side.

Thames town

As soon as you enter Thames Town, you will find that it is a check-in spot for Internet celebrities. The town reflects the original European style from the overall layout to each brick by brick. The bright architectural appearance and the good weather of the blue sky and white clouds that day are a perfect encounter. This is a large community with many functions such as residence, tourism, and leisure. But each neighborhood is different. There is also a 400-acre lake landscape and a beautiful yacht marina, which truly changes the scenery (whispered: I really envy the people who can live here).

Thames Town has more than 200,000 square meters of public supporting facilities and commercial service facilities, including fitness clubs, art galleries, Thames Cathedral, etc. What I would like to recommend to you most is the bookstore chain "Zhong Shuge". As the first generation of "Internet celebrity bookstore" brand, Zhong Shuge is even regarded as a benchmark for the transformation of physical bookstores in China, and it also provides a transformation for the gradually declining paper books. New ideas. If you are a young literary and artistic youth who likes paper books, you can't not only know Zhong Shuge, because not only can you buy books here, but it's also so beautiful to take pictures.

The literature and art of Thames Town are far from this. Even the means of transportation leading here are different. They are yellow streetcars that are very eye-catching when shuttling through the road, as if they are really on the European continent.

Sijing Ancient Town

Shanghai has a profound history and many well-known ancient towns in the territory. However, not many people know about Sijing Ancient Town, located in the northeast of Songjiang District. In fact, it is also an ancient town with a history of more than a thousand years ago. It even has the saying of "a century of Shanghai and a thousand years of Sijing." So this time I came to Songjiang to take a look. The first thing that caught my eye was the ancient archway below, which looked very atmospheric, and the details made me ponder for a long time.

It is said that there are a total of 53 historical buildings in the ancient town style area, giving birth to a large number of historical and cultural celebrities such as the famous historian Tao Zongyi, the Ming Dynasty painter Fan Yunlin, the founder of Fudan University, and the founder of Shenbao Shi Liangcai. There are also some touristy venues within the ancient town, where you can learn about the history and culture of Songjiang and even Shanghai.

There is also a Futian Jing Temple in the ancient town. Its predecessor was the Dongtian Temple that existed in the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China and has a history of thousands of years. According to Songjiang historical records,"Talking about Sijing in Ancient Town of Water Town", the formation of Sijing Town started from the temple fair. During the period from Xianping to Xiangfu during the Zhenzong period of the Song Dynasty, Dongtian Buddhist Temple and Pagoda were built, which were a place of incense for believers. In ancient times, when spiritual life was relatively scarce, temples were one of the most important social places, so this ancient temple can also be said to be a witness to Songjiang's history.

Shanghai Film and Television Park

I believe that when it comes to film and television cities in Jiangsu and Zhejiang, most tourists will think of Hengdian. However, I think Hengdian is too big and its theme is sky-high. I prefer the "small but sophisticated" Shanghai Film and Television Park because this is Shanghai, and what I see is "Old Shanghai". Shanghai Film and Television Park was built in 1992. The street scenery here includes Nanjing Road, Shikumen Lane Group and other old Shanghai buildings imitating the Republic of China. Tourists can travel back to the 1930s in a second...

Shanghai in the last century has been deeply influenced by Western architecture, so there are also European-style buildings such as Mahler Villa, Church, German Villa, Spanish House, English Villa, etc. in the film and television park, so that you can see many wedding photos. Take the shots. Among them, Mahler Villa, located at the northern end of the film and television park, is an antique building complex with Norway culture as its background. Its original site is located on South Shaanxi Road in Shanghai City. It is said that there is a warm story about its origin, so Mahler Villa is also known as Dream Apartment and is now one of the landmark buildings in the film and television park.

Of course, one thing you should pay special attention to when you come to the film and television park is that you may accidentally bump into stars while walking in the scenic area. There are many film and television dramas that have been filmed in Shanghai Film and Television Park, such as "Deep Love in the Rain","Sparrow","Kung Fu", etc., so check if there are any scenes you are familiar with?

By the way, when I came to the film and television park this time, I found that during the National Day (1st to 8th), the Splendid China·Damei Cheongsam 2020 Shanghai Cheongsam Culture and Art Festival will be held in the park. It feels fun and eye-catching! Among them, cheongsam is also one of the must-have elements of "Old Shanghai". When I mention these two words, I will think of the scene of Maggie Cheung wearing various cheongsam in the movie "The Mood for Love". It is really full of charm!

Laiyifen Snack Museum

Young people all love to eat snacks, but fewer and fewer people are willing to spend time shopping in supermarkets. Because the Internet is too developed, it can be delivered to your home with a touch of your finger, or it is more convenient to go to a snack shop to buy in one stop. As a result, many online fast-selling snack brands were born and became popular, and "Laiyifen" is one of them. However, this time I came to Songjiang not to visit Laiyifen's stores, but to the Laiyifen Snacks Museum to learn about how the snacks we consume every day are produced, selected and snack culture.

It is no exaggeration to say that snack culture is displayed here. There are multiple themed areas in the museum such as snack gathering, snack street, and cultural corridor. The colors and illustrations jump boldly, together forming a high-looking and interesting space. It is deeply loved by tourists of all ages. Of course, the Snack Museum is not only a good place to watch the excitement, but also a good place to see the door. In the entertaining and educational snack cultural atmosphere, explore the ingenious and delicious stories that originated from nature.

There is also a high-quality coffee and book bar on the second floor. If you are tired from shopping here, you can sit down and take photos and check in. By the way, you can also popularize knowledge of coffee and tea culture.

So why should we build a snack museum to sell snacks? According to museum staff, this venue is an important exploration for Laiyifen to help China and the world deeply understand Chinese food culture against the background of consumption upgrading and internationalization of the food industry. It includes three major themes: historical inheritance, innovative development, and experience sharing. Simply put, today, as more and more people eat food, in order to eat culture, spirit, mission, and taste, Laiyifen chose to establish a museum to showcase this new shift from food and clothing needs to refined needs. experience.

fangta garden

Fangta Garden is a garden in Songjiang with the theme of viewing historical relics. Before coming here, I thought this should be a relatively small scenic spot. I didn't expect that there were really many tourists there. I think this is mainly due to the rich history of Fangta Garden and the very people-friendly ticket price? A 12-yuan ticket may not even be able to buy a cup of milk tea in Shanghai, but you can come to Fangta Garden to experience the thousand-year-old humanities.

Fangta Garden covers an area of about 182 acres. The park site was originally the downtown center of ancient Huating during the Tang and Song Dynasties. There is Aimin Street in the east and Sangong Street in the west. It is not only a gathering place for ancient literati, but also a microcosm of Songjiang ruins. In other words, this place was the city center in ancient times, but now it has become a niche tourist destination. The Zhaobi in the garden is the oldest, most exquisite and best-preserved large-scale brick carving art treasure in Shanghai and even in the country. Its size is: 4.75 meters high and 6.1 meters wide. It is a large-scale brick embossed.

The square tower is a landmark building in the park. It is a brick-and-wood structure with nine levels of square. It was built in the late Song Dynasty and has been renovated many times. It is 42.5 meters high. It is like a graceful Jiangnan woman. The wooden ladder to climb the tower is narrow and steep, and the more you go up, the narrower you get. You can no longer go up on the seventh floor. The door opening on the seventh floor is less than one meter high and must be climbed to get out. Therefore, the square tower is also famous for its "beauty" in the southeast. The two ancient poems "The 36 floating map in the offshore sea is the most exquisite than the square tower" are the best interpretation of it.

Zuibaichi

Zuibaichi Park and Fangta Garden are quite similar. They are both typical Jiangnan classical gardens, and tickets are both 12 yuan/person. This garden has a history of more than 900 years since its predecessor. After being named after Zuibaichi, it has also taken more than 300 years. Ancient buildings such as halls, pavilions, boats, pavilions, etc. are still preserved, and they maintain the style of Jiangnan gardens in the Ming and Qing Dynasties and are antique.

When you come to Zuibaichi Park, there are not many tourists, so you can enjoy the garden scenery here. The garden layout is centered on a pool of water, and there are curved corridors and pavilions on three sides around the pool. Personally, I feel that there is no dead angle at all. The view is excellent wherever you stand. As long as you don't hesitate to use your shutter, you can take many good photos. There are many ancient ginkgo trees, ancient camphor trees, etc. that are three to four hundred years old, which are beyond the reach of newly built gardens in the later period.

In fact, Zui Baichi has a lot of origins. It is also known as Shanghai's Five Classical Gardens, along with Shanghai Yu Garden, Jiading Guyi Garden, Qiuxiapu, and Qingpu Qushui Garden, and it is the oldest among the five major gardens. Perhaps it is like a microcosm of Songjiang tourism, with considerable resources, but there are not as many tourists as the urban area. Whether it's experiencing history and humanities or online celebrities taking photos and checking in, the experience is excellent!
Therefore, based on the announcements of various scenic spots, I have also compiled recent activity announcements of various scenic spots in Songjiang for everyone, and recommended collecting them!
