On the morning of August 23, 2021, I arrived at Chongming Island and will spend three days and two nights of rural leisure here. We live in a farmhouse in Zhongxing Town and plan to visit nearby attractions in the afternoon. Gaode Navigation checked and found that Yingdong Ecological Village is a small attraction closer to us. At 2 o'clock in the afternoon, we drove to Yingdong Ecological Village. Upon arriving there, the entire village was divided into a resort, a scenic area, and an indigenous area. The indigenous area was uniformly planned and built to the south of the scenic area. The scenic area is similar to a small park and requires a ticket to enter. The ticket is 20 yuan per person. Since you're here, let's spend 20 yuan and visit the scenic area.

Yingdong Ecological Village is located at the easternmost end of Chongming Island. It is the first village in Chongming Island to welcome the sunrise, and it is also a natural eco-tourism village. Yingdong Village is a new village emerging from the reclamation of mudflat in the mid-1980s. The village is centered around the East Lake tourist area, and tourists can stay away from the hustle and bustle of the city when they come to Yingdong Village. Here, you can experience a simple rural life.

Entering the gate of Chongming Yingdong Ecological Resort, you can see a large and striking statue monument in the distance, engraved with "Chongming Island Spirit". Behind the stone carving is the introduction of "Chongming Island Spirit". Chongming Island was originally a mudflat hit by the sediment at the mouth of the Yangtze River, and gradually became the third largest island in China with the continuous impact of sediment and artificial reclamation. It is a manifestation of the spirit of the people of Chongming to reclaim land from the sea and work hard to start a business.

Yingdong Village is a village that was surrounded and cultivated by the spirit of Chongming Island. The former village was a desolate land where the tide came to a vast expanse of white and the tide receded, with reeds everywhere. Through the hard work of the villagers and the reclamation of the beach fields, this prosperous, beautiful, and modern seaside village has emerged.

To the south of the tourist area is a patch of residential houses, mostly inhabited by the indigenous people who contracted fish ponds in Yingdong Village in the early days. They enjoy the dividends obtained from the village's tourism income every year and enjoy themselves harmoniously.

There are rowing, fishing for Chongming crabs, and feeding sheep here. Compared to urban parks, there are fewer amusement facilities here, but the ecological environment is really good.

Coming here on a hot day of 34 degrees is not a particularly good choice, it's a bit sunny.

Passing by a pergola, there were three dilapidated wooden fishing boats parked inside. An elderly couple were on site maintaining and repairing the old fishing boats. As wooden fishing boats gradually withdrew from the stage, the halo of the boatmen had long faded, and few people were engaged in this industry anymore. However, in Yingdong Village, Chongming, there is still a couple of boatmen who are still steadfast on the shore

Teacher Fu introduced that these fishing boats have a history of over 30 years and have long since exited the historical stage. Now they are replaced by steel plate boats. These fishing boats are all old antiques, with a small body but complete internal organs. The rudder can rotate, the sails can be raised and lowered, and there is everything from an axe to a mast, wooden stakes, fenders, anchors, etc. After repair, it will be placed in the exhibition hall for visitors to visit.

The craftsmanship of handmade wooden fishing boats has continued to this day. They used ordinary hammers, axes, and saws, relying on their intelligence and wisdom to meticulously carve and create large wooden boats for fishing at sea, which is still quite great.

This is an isolated island, with a wooden plank bridge leading to the island, where a group of white geese are kept free.

Walking onto the small island, looking up at the lake with your head raised, the fresh breeze brushing your face, and the blue waves rippling, you suddenly feel relaxed and happy.

The artificial lake in Yingdong Village is very large, with a wide water surface and excellent water quality. It is very comfortable to wander on the lake.

A group of chickens and sheep were raised in captivity around the amusement park, and there used to be cockfighting and sheep fighting performances.

Due to the epidemic, the chicken and sheep fighting performances have also been cancelled. Only a few old goats were seen, feeding them grass and jumping high, probably hungry.

This is a fishing pond for tourists to carry out activities, with tools for renting fishing crabs (rental fee required).
