★ Tourist location: Volunteer Army Literature Museum of Shanghai Oriental Geological Science Popularization Museum
The Volunteer Army Literature Museum is located behind the Geological Museum, with tanks and anti-aircraft guns on the square, all of which participated in the Korean War. This museum is dedicated to commemorating the War of Resistance Against US Aggression and Aid in Korea. The exhibition hall houses thousands of loot, cultural relics, and souvenirs from various battles during the War, faithfully restoring the magnificent history of over 60 years ago.
Entering the gate, there was a grand hall with quite a few tourists. The people involved in parent-child activities are still staying at the Geological Museum, which is another group of people, indicating that Shanghai citizens still attach great importance to patriotic education for the next generation.
On the high wall, there are photos of Shanghai volunteers hanging. At that time, there were no color photos, and the monochromatic black and white small photos were the backbone of the nation one by one. They sacrificed their lives and drank their blood in a foreign land, in exchange for our peaceful era. They used their own flesh and blood to compose a mother's hymn. The two big characters "military soul", thick and colorful, hit the visitor's heart at once.
We looked up at a young photo of Zhenzhen and paid tribute to the Shanghai Volunteer Army soldiers who participated in the Korean War. The people of Shanghai, and even the people of the whole country, will not forget them. Although most people do not know their names, they all know that there is a group of people who have shed blood and sweat.
Copper reliefs are group portraits of the volunteer army, depicting scenes of volunteer soldiers fighting with blood. They fought bravely, fearless of sacrifice, and forged the steadfast spirit of the army.
On one side, there is a sign commemorating the 100th anniversary of the birth of Wei Wei, a famous contemporary poet, prose writer, and novelist. We have all studied Wei Wei's reportage "Who is the cutest person", which may be an event held here recently.
There are also some cultural relics displayed in the memorial hall from the past, and the weapons at that time were far from advanced compared to today. All kinds of tools appeared relatively simple.
The most unique is the restoration scene of the Shanghai Underground Building, which is very large in scale. There are many modern buildings in Shanghai now, all of which have underground parts and are also grand in scale. However, the building at that time was very rudimentary, with a rudimentary command center, a rudimentary office space, a rudimentary lounge, and... In times of war, it was naturally impossible to have modern facilities.
The tunnel was a defensive fortification developed by the Volunteer Army during the Korean War. After the end of the autumn campaign in 1951, in order to implement the policy of sustained combat and active defense, the entire army launched a wave of constructing tunnel fortifications. From that time until the Korean Armistice Agreement came into effect, the entire army built a total of 1250 kilometers of tunnels, with multiple levels of up and down rotation in the main position, which was well connected in all directions. This military project is a great innovation in military history.
The tunnel was low and humid, and the soldiers found some wood to make a simple bed, so that the commander of the troops who worked hard to command the battle could sleep soundly at night. But the leader saw the soldiers sleeping on the floor next to him and insisted on letting the soldiers sleep on the bed. Of course, the warrior refused to sleep and insisted on letting the leader sleep. In the end, the leader ordered the little soldier to sleep in bed, but in the end, the leader still slept on the floor in the damp tunnel! Who is the cutest person? This is the answer.
Military coats, military kettles, and some weapons were hung on rough walls. Perhaps the underground building they fought in back then has not yet been restored to its original condition! It's hard to imagine that under such basic conditions, the volunteer army repeatedly crushed the enemy's attacks.
The second floor displays some simple furniture and office supplies, as well as some picture albums and magazines from the past. On one side, there is a terrain model of the 9th Corps of the Chinese People's Volunteer Army participating in the war in North Korea. The Ninth Corps has three armies, which entered Korea on foot from Ji'an and Linjiang, welcoming the enemy in the Changjin Lake area and launching the second battle on the eastern front battlefield.
The Volunteer Army Air Force Picture Exhibition reproduces the entire process of the Korean Air War in concise text and image materials. In the tempering of blood and fire, the heroic sons and daughters of the Chinese nation move forward without fear of violence, demonstrating extraordinary qualities of fearlessness.
The 100th anniversary exhibition of the birth of the great communist warrior Wei Wei also introduces the life of this literati warrior with rich pictures and concise text.
The display of the frontline battlefield newspaper of the Volunteer Army is also very rich. Journalists who have personally experienced the front line and reported in the artillery fire are precious historical materials for us to commemorate the heroes now.
