A few days ago, a financial media counted the roast about domestic scenic spots on the social platform and wrote a guide for avoiding pits.

According to the media statistics, among these "regret it once you go" attractions, Gulangyu Island ranks highest, followed by ancient cities and towns in second and third place, and museums in eighth place.

From my self introduction, you can tell that I am a girl who checks in to ancient towns and museums. Good guy, once this statistic is released, it feels like the strategy I'm introducing to you is taking everyone into a trap.

I can't help but want to name my favorite ancient town and museum, find the correct way to open them, and you will discover their beauty. Museums are no exception.

I saw that the main keywords of everyone's roast about the ancient town are "stereotype", "excessive commercial atmosphere", "all snacks sold are the same", "tickets are too expensive", "no history", "too many people"

Seeing these flaws, I don't want to refute anything. I have been engaged in tourism for so many years, and I spend most of my holidays outside. What tourists say about crowds, high prices, and a strong business atmosphere is something I have experienced more than anyone else.

So, when I travel with my backpack on my own, I deliberately avoid these pitfalls.

I am someone who enjoys looking at old things and enjoys history. You tell me how popular and novel this attraction is online, I really don't have much interest in it. But when you tell me how many years of history this place has and what major events have occurred, I am very interested. That's also why I enjoy checking in on ancient towns and museums.

I thought for a moment, why do I check in to the ancient town? Apart from enjoying history, I hope to get a sense of tranquility in the ancient town that urban life has never had before.

I live in Shanghai and have exclaimed more than once: the pace of life in Shanghai is too fast. The fast pace of life is due to the high pressure of life, and in a state of restlessness, it is difficult to obtain inner peace.

I like ancient towns because they have a continuous history, birds chirping and cicadas chirping, and life itself.

The correct way to open an ancient town:

1、 Off peak travel

The time I choose to visit the ancient town is deliberately staggered from holidays. On days like National Day, I will definitely stay at home obediently. Firstly, I will avoid the flow of people. Secondly, the cost of National Day travel is too high. It is normal for the homestays in the ancient town to increase by three or four times during National Day.

But I am traveling during the off-season. I stay in a single homestay in the ancient town, priced between 50 and 100 yuan. It is clean, tidy, and located in the center of the ancient town, where I can take photos when I go out.

2、 Morning photography

I like to stay overnight in the ancient town because I enjoy taking photos freely in the early morning when no one is around.

Why is there no one in my photo because they are all sleeping.

The late night washed away the hustle and bustle of the small town, and only in the early morning, before the breakfast vendor even set up a stall, was the originally peaceful appearance of the small town.

At that time, only the sound of chickens and birds accompanied me, as well as the slightly sweet air, fantastic!

3、 Beautiful scenery often hides deep in mountains, forests, and rivers

When I visit some remote towns, I often have a feeling that the road is too difficult to walk. In slightly better places, there is also a direct bus service from the city to the town, but it often takes 5 to 6 hours to drive on mountain roads. In areas with inconvenient transportation, there is also a need for green trains to transfer to cars, one trip at a time.

But after the tiring journey, these mountain and forest towns never disappointed me. They were so beautiful~~

Moreover, during the off-season, there are already fewer tourists, and some local homestay owners even close their doors and go out to play on their own.

At 8pm and 9pm, every household is preparing to close their doors and go to bed. Isn't this the peaceful life I am pursuing.

4、 Understanding the history of ancient towns requires doing homework

Many friends complain that these ancient towns have too much commercial atmosphere and lack much culture. I don't know, do you usually make your own strategies before visiting the ancient town? In addition to searching for transportation routes, enjoying delicious and fun food, and taking the best photos, perhaps out of professional habits, I will also take a look at the historical stories of this ancient town.

After understanding the background knowledge, looking at the bricks and tiles in the ancient town has a deeper significance.

5、 The method of waiving admission fees for ancient towns

Many friends roast that the tickets of the ancient town are too expensive, and also gave special examples of "the charge of Xitang Ancient Town is 80 yuan, that of Zhouzhuang is 100 yuan, and that of Wuzhen Xizha is 150 yuan".

Calling for a reduction in domestic ticket prices is something I have been advocating for, but given the objective conditions here, I estimate that domestic ticket prices will not be able to be lowered for a while.

But apart from the three ancient towns mentioned above, the other ancient towns I visited did not charge such high admission fees. At most, they only charge around ten to twenty yuan for the maintenance of the ancient city.

For example, when I went to Gongtan Ancient Town in Chongqing this time, I didn't even need to pay for the maintenance of the ancient city by staying in a homestay.

The model of homestays and tickets is gradually being promoted. The three ancient towns mentioned above have cooperative homestays, where guests can receive free tickets. If you search in a different way, you may save a lot of money.

Besides the ancient town, I also enjoy checking in to museums. Every time I visit a city, I will definitely check in to its museum.

Of course, the first ones to be promoted are provincial-level museums, then local level museums, and finally specialty museums. Although I have also stepped on some pitfalls, I can never say that I regret going there. Because these are originally places to see cultural relics and read stories, but the quantity and quality of the exhibits are limited by multiple factors, which may disappoint me.

In the future, if there is an opportunity, I will organize the museums I have visited to adjust everyone's reasonable psychological expectations and avoid disappointment.

The above is my "name correction" for the ancient town and museum. Actually, I don't expect to change people's views on the ancient town by writing these. Anyway, whether you like it or not, I still like checking in on the ancient town and museum.
