1、 Visiting the Familiar and Unknown Beixinjing Region
It is familiar to say that the name "Beixinjing" has not only been heard of for a long time, but also frequently heard, at least for decades; To be unfamiliar, not only had I never visited "Beixinjing" before, but I knew nothing about everything about it. Moreover, 'Beixinjing' was sometimes under the jurisdiction of Minhang District, and sometimes under Changning District, and seemed to have previously been under the jurisdiction of Shanghai County. Such a confusing situation makes it even more difficult for outsiders who hear hearsay to understand the ins and outs.
In addition, it may also be due to the remote geographical location of "Beixinjing", resulting in abnormal phenomena that have never been there before.
Not long ago, the unit arranged the annual physical examination at the "Shanghai Chengkang Physical Examination Center" located only one subway station away from Beixinjing (due to the previous medical examination hospital being part of the military establishment, all paid services have been cancelled). For me, this move is just right.
This is because, since it is only one subway station away from "Beixinjing", it is a great opportunity for those of us who like to travel around to visit "Beixinjing" nearby. Why not kill two birds with one stone? ha-ha!
So, as soon as the physical examination was over, he headed straight to "Beixinjing".
In fact, the current Beixinjing area has already been divided into two administrative districts under the jurisdiction of Changning District: one is Beixinjing Street; One is Xinjing Town. However, along the way, it is difficult to distinguish which ones belong to the scope of Xinjing Town and which belong to the scope of Beixinjing Street.
Yeah, I haven't figured it out for years. How can I figure it out in an hour or two? I can only walk around, take a look, and have a preliminary impression.
Overall, although the Beixinjing area has been divided into two administrative regions, it is an undeniable objective fact that you have me and I have you. The natural environment, historical culture, and customs of the region are all inherited and difficult to distinguish clearly. In the eyes of outsiders, it still seems to be the traditional Beixinjing area. I believe that in terms of ecological environment protection and governance, as well as the inheritance and promotion of historical and cultural heritage, the two must work together with one heart and one force to develop this region better and better.

2、 A Temple on Hami Road
I never expected that there would be such a great place on the short Hami Road. To my surprise, it can be summarized as: two parks, two churches, and the magnificent Fuyuan Zen Temple.
The two parks refer to Zhongxinjing Park and Shanghai Zoo, with their breeding grounds located on the side of Hami Road. The two churches refer to the Shanghai Christian Xinjing Church and the Catholic Xiyan Church. Fuyuan Temple is the temple introduced today.
As an ordinary photographer, I only have the historical, cultural, and scenic beauty of the scenic spots in my eyes. Regarding the history and culture of Fuyuan Zen Temple, others have introduced it better than me, and there are plenty of them online. I won't waste everyone's time here.
I found that temples are becoming more and more beautiful as they are built.
Both the design and architectural layout are very different from the old temples of the past, appearing colorful and perfect.
In recent years, there have been many photos taken, such as Donglin Temple in Jinshan District, Baoshan Temple in Baoshan District, Ningguo Zen Temple in Xuhui District, and so on.
It seems that in this regard, Jing'an Temple and Jade Buddha Temple in the city center (unfortunately, this blog post has not been found yet) seem to be the leading and pioneering temples in Shanghai.
One common feature of these new-style temples is their upward development (Fuyuan Zen Temple has six floors). In this way, not only does it greatly increase the plot ratio, but it also greatly enhances the aesthetic appeal of the temple. The space freed up can be used to create a visual and imposing effect, making the temple building layout more staggered and rich in architectural rhythm.
In addition, it is estimated that the Fuyuan Zen Temple project was carried out simultaneously with the Zhongxinjing Park project, and even the planning and design were carried out by the same team. So it seems that there is a tacit cooperation between the two, complementing each other, exchanging knowledge and complementing each other. No wonder the main entrance and exit of Fuyuan Zen Temple is built within Zhongxinjing Park (the other entrance and exit is mainly used for vehicle access), which is also a major innovation.
This kind of momentum is rarely seen in ordinary temples. This is because a common feature of these new-style temples is often their upward development. In this way, not only does it greatly increase the plot ratio, but it also greatly enhances the aesthetic appeal of the temple. The space freed up can be used to create a visual and imposing effect, making the temple building layout more staggered and rich in architectural rhythm.

3、 Three Churches on Hami Road
The first two churches on Hami Road, including the Catholic Xiyan Church, were seen during my last visit to the Beixinjing area on my return journey. And the Christian Xinjing Church was newly discovered after this visit. Unexpectedly, there are two different churches on the same road at the same time. Little do they know, this is not the final answer yet.
Originally, there was a third church hidden on Hami Road. Let me speak slowly one by one. The Christian Xinjing Church seems to be newly built, occupying a small area, but its square and individual building has a considerable volume, with a total construction area of over 6000 square meters. On one side of the church is a bus terminal, making transportation very convenient. However, its historical origins have not yet been traced and are currently unclear.
And the Catholic Church of Xiyan continued the old church building built in 1929. And it was also designed by the famous Hungarian architect Wu Dake who traveled to Shanghai. It is said that the Xiyan Church is the only church in Shanghai that adopts the Byzantine dome design. The appearance seems almost unchanged. Due to its geographical location facing Zhongxinjing Park, Fuyuan Temple, and Shanghai Zoo Breeding Farm across the river, it naturally becomes one of the popular check-in and internet famous attractions in this area.
The third church on Hami Road was discovered while searching for information. Located near Hongqiao Road in the southern section of Hami Road, this place seems to have been the 108 Hospital (the original medical examination hospital of my unit, which I was not aware of at the time), which was a church hospital in the United States in history (detailed pictures and text can be found at the end of the article).

Original Christian Church Hospital Chapel:
The original American Church Hospital is located at 1713 Hami Road and was founded by the American Adventist Church in 1929, covering an area of approximately 10000 square meters.
The gate of the church hospital is open on Hami Road, surrounded by three rivers: Xinjing Port, Jinjiabang, and Xiajiabang. The natural environment is unique, with green trees and flowers everywhere in the hospital. The hospital building and office building are hidden in the green nature.
The hospital gate is made of cast iron, with patterns, arrows, and decorations to prevent people from climbing. The gate is about 6 meters wide, divided into left and right leaves, and has tracks buried underneath. It may seem heavy, but it is very easy to open.
On the main road leading into the garden, heading south is the church, which is a holy place for Christians to worship. Inside the white stone gate frame are two thick water chestnut inner doors. Featuring a pointed arch unique to churches, the windows are in the shape of circular spires. There is a bathing pool at the southern end of the church. It is said that believers must bathe and purify themselves here before praying. The church has a building area of 450 square meters and can accommodate 400 people for prayer.
4、 Popular check-in and internet famous garden on Hami Road - Zhongxinjing Park
One of the main targets for this trip on Hami Road is Zhongxinjing Park. At that time, I didn't know that this was still a popular place for checking in and becoming an internet celebrity. At first, when I visited Beixinjing on my return journey, I passed through Hami Road, where I discovered Zhongxinjing Park and Xiyantang. Here, we discovered another beautiful temple - Fuyuan Zen Temple.
However, on that day, I saw the Christian Xinjing Church and the Catholic Xiyan Church. Walking south along Hami Road, the first thing I saw was not the entrance of Zhongxinjing Park, but a residential complex with a Huizhou architectural style. As Wu Na continued to walk forward, he realized that these emblem style buildings were the signature buildings of Zhongxinjing Park, which was truly extraordinary.
In fact, the reason why Zhongxinjing Park is attractive is not just these Huizhou style landmark buildings. There are other reasons as well: firstly, the uniquely shaped Lotus Tower (Park Culture Exhibition Center) located on Lotus Square; The second is the beautiful new architectural complex of Fuyuan Temple, with its main entrance and exit located within Zhongxinjing Park; In addition, across the river from Zhongxinjing Park, there is also a Catholic Xiyan Church designed by Hungarian architect Hudec. In this way, Zhongxinjing Park naturally became the center of this scenic area, holding hands with two families.
Tourists who come here to check in and visit Fuyuan Temple and Catholic Xiyan Hall will undoubtedly use Zhongxinjing Park as a relay station for leisure tourism. There are also Huizhou style landmark buildings that can be photographed and appreciated here, so they particularly like it.
Of course, it cannot be ignored that the breeding ground of Shanghai Zoo is only a stone's throw away from Zhongxinjing Park, behind Fuyuan Temple.
Without a doubt, Zhongxinjing Park is a remarkable newly-built garden.

The Lotus Tower, resembling a lotus shaped park culture exhibition center.
As soon as I approached the vicinity of the Lotus Tower building, I could smell the overwhelming fragrance. Upon searching for the reason, it turned out to be the fragrance emanating from the low and inconspicuous gardenia flowers surrounding the Lotus Tower.
The Lotus Tower in the Park Culture Exhibition Center echoes the main building of Fuyuan Zen Temple from afar.
The main building of Fuyuan Zen Temple echoes the Lotus Tower, the cultural exhibition center of the park, from south to north.
I can't believe there's such a beautiful temple hidden in Zhongxinjing Park.
Zhongxinjing Park and Fuyuan Temple are separated by the Xinjinggang River. Previously, they faced each other across the river, but now they are fully connected by a bridge - the main entrance and exit of Fuyuan Temple is located here - within Zhongxinjing Park. The main hall of Fuyuan Zen Temple faces the main building of Lianhua Tower in Zhongxinjing Park. There are multiple passages of different sizes leading to Fuyuan Temple in the park.
On this day, I visited the Christian Xinjing Church and the Catholic Xiyan Church. Walking south along Hami Road, the first thing I saw was not the entrance of Zhongxinjing Park, but a residential complex with a Huizhou architectural style.
It wasn't until I entered Zhongxinjing Park that I realized these Huizhou style architectural complexes were the signature buildings of Zhongxinjing Park, truly extraordinary.
Originally, Zhongxinjing Park and the Catholic Xiyan Church designed by Hungarian architect Hudec were only separated by a small Yenujing River, it was really like facing each other across the river!

5、 The Last Stop on Hami Road: Shanghai Zoo
When I got home and pulled out my phone, I found out it was Father's Day. My daughter called me seven times in a row to go eat, and my spouse also called me. I had my phone with me, but I didn't even notice it? I'm afraid I'm really confused. However, it used to be the same, as taking photos outside often overlooked these factors.
It takes over half an hour to arrive at station 13 on route 836. Then walk south all the way to Shanghai Christian Xinjing Church, Xiyan Church (Catholic Church), Zhongxin Jing Park, Fuyuan Zen Temple, Shanghai Zoo, while walking and sightseeing. It can be said that there are two parks and two churches, and the Fuyuan Zen Temple is grand in style.
Fortunately, the lizard was photographed quite clearly, and it happened that the lizard had not yet taken a nap and was still crawling around in a very vivid manner. It was truly a rare opportunity. Let me catch them one by one, it's a bit impressive. Normally, these animals are lazy and indifferent to tourists.
It is unknown whether it is related to Father's Day and whether this special treatment is given to me. ha-ha!
