In Qingpu, the "land of fish and rice" in Shanghai, there is the only suburban park with wetland as its characteristic. Taking the water pond cypress forest planted 38 years ago as the "treasure of the town park", relying on the ecological restoration project of Dalian Lake, the Qingxi Suburban Park is crisscrossed with rippling blue waves, cypress forests and herons, and "lakes, beaches, marshes, and islands".

The water surface area in the park accounts for one-third, with diverse aquatic species and themes of wetland, ecology, nature, and recreation. It has three major functional areas: water town farmland demonstration area, ecological conservation functional area, and fishing village leisure experience area

The main landscapes include water forests, cedar forests and heron shadows, Qingyun Wild Trail, Ogi Flower Area, Shuiyang Wetland, Peach Blossom Ferry, etc. Among them, the over 60 acre water forest is unique to Shanghai and is known as the wonder of pond cypress.

In late autumn and early winter, the originally emerald green leaves of the water spruce tree turn into reddish brown, standing tall in the water, which is very spectacular. The Qingxi Suburban Park located in Qingpu District, Shanghai is a "water forest", and it is also the only "water forest" in Shanghai.

Centered around Dalian Lake, covering an area of 83 acres. Under the morning light, a large area of water fir stands tall in the water, with the water surface reflecting the straight body of the tree like a mirror.

The scenic area has a large area, and the parking lot and bus stop are far away from the entrance of the scenic area. You can choose to take the scenic electric scooter for sightseeing. During the best viewing period, you need to wait in line. And entering the scenic area also requires a long hike.

We came here for the first time and wanted to take a look along the way, so we didn't take a sightseeing electric scooter. The fact proves to be right, there are multiple scenic spots to enjoy along the way, which is very good for filming.

Getting off the bus is Zilian Road, which takes more than 900 meters north to reach the tourist center. This is a straight and flat asphalt road, with a black surface crossing through the farmland on both sides, appearing particularly beautiful and dazzling. Along the road are several hundred meters thick, square shaped wooden wisteria frames. Although it is autumn now and the wisteria flowers have withered, the wisteria on the frames still intertwine with each other, with lush green vines lining the long corridor. The corridor is layered and endless at a glance.

Next spring, when the wisteria flowers bloom, clusters of wisteria flowers will fill the flower rack, forming a purple "time and space tunnel". The scenery must be magnificent.

From time to time, there are egrets hunting and herons soaring on the river surface. Although the Dalian Lake in autumn may be inferior to spring and summer, autumn has its own charm.

After entering the suburban park, what catches the eye is a scene of the Jiangnan water town in Shanghai's new countryside.

Our mood couldn't help but feel relaxed, and the fatigue of the journey was swept away.

White walls and black tiles, the farmhouses are arranged in a staggered manner, creating a peaceful, tranquil, and peaceful atmosphere. The park has a large area, so it still preserves the natural village of the indigenous people - Lianhu Village.

The rivers and lakes crisscross, the pastoral scenery is picturesque, the houses are scattered in an orderly manner, and the rural style is quaint and elegant

On 3200 acres of arable land, high-quality rice, green fruits and vegetables, and lotus root crops flow freely with rich greenery.

In 2014, Lianhu Village was included in the first batch of beautiful rural district level demonstration village construction in Qingpu District. In 2015, it was rated as a beautiful rural demonstration village in Shanghai. In 2018, it was rated as a national ecological and cultural village. In 2018, it was also selected as one of the first pilot villages for rural revitalization demonstration villages in Shanghai.

Lotus silk wraps around the wrist, water chestnuts pull clothes far away. Here, there are thousands of acres of lotus ponds, lotus leaves and fields, and fish playing among the lotus leaves.

The rural market, walking about 700 meters west on Lianxie Road, offers a panoramic view of Dalian Lake and the sky.

The entire Qingxi Country Park is arranged around Dalian Lake. This is a lake surface that approximates an isosceles triangle. Dalian Lake is famous for its rippling lake surface and large areas of lotus flowers.

Wetland lotus pond

Strolling by the shores of Dalian Lake, the 5.5-kilometer lakeside trail is tranquil and offers excellent views. Dalian Lake is a natural lake with a water area of 1 square kilometer. Wild lotus flowers grow in the wetlands along the lake, making it a scenic spot for wetland lotus ponds.

Unfortunately, early autumn is not the season to admire lotus flowers. From a distance, the lotus flowers have already withered and the lotus leaves have turned yellow. In June and July next year, it will definitely be the moonlit lotus pond here, beautiful and stunning. It is said that this is the most beautiful tourist season in Qingxi Country Park.

On the west side of Dalian Lake, separated from Dalian Lake along the way, is an endless rice field, like a huge golden carpet spreading between heaven and earth.

Here, high-quality frog rice single season late rice and frog rice are grown, selected from Qingpu high-quality thin rice varieties. The planting area is located within the drinking water source protection zone in the upper reaches of the Huangpu River. Adopting the "frog rice symbiosis" planting and breeding method, using frogs to protect and nurture rice, effectively controlling pests in rice fields, ensuring food security, reducing environmental pollution, and promoting sustainable agricultural development.

From south to northeast to Jinkoumen Port

After passing through Jinkoumen Port, follow the signpost and pass by the Dalianhu Service Station. Passing through the service station, about a hundred meters ahead is the Lu Xue Maze, which can only be seen in the distance.

Walking forward for a while is Lianxin Bridge. Lianxin Bridge has two arch bridges, a wooden pavilion, and a winding boardwalk, where you can see a large area of thriving reeds fluttering in the wind in the nearby wetland.

Standing on the boardwalk, on the first arch bridge, capturing the winding boardwalk, the pavilion in the center of the lake, the trail of Lu Xue, the Yongjing Temple in the distance, and the blue sky and white clouds in the camera, it feels very impressive.

Across from the Lotus Heart Bridge and the Lu Xue Maze, as seen by the tour guide, is the Shuiyang Wetland. This is located within the main scenic area of the park, known as the "Ecological Conservation Area". Through the barbed wire fence, one can see a lotus pond where a laborer is harvesting lotus roots. In the morning, one can see that lotus roots are being pulled from the pond,

Beside the boardwalk, there are small bridges and flowing water, bird watching buildings, accompanied by thatched pavilions, and adorned with colorful flowers, adding icing on the cake to the magnificent water forest and adding to the fun of sightseeing. It is definitely worth this trip.

There is a two-story bird watching building next to the wooden bridge, which is designed to facilitate tourists to hide and allow wild birds to move freely and boldly.

There are telescopes inside the bird watching building for observing birds, and some local bird specimens are also exhibited.

Beside the boardwalk, there are small bridges and flowing water, bird watching buildings, accompanied by thatched pavilions, and adorned with colorful flowers, adding icing on the cake to the magnificent water forest and adding to the fun of sightseeing. It is definitely worth this trip.

Walking on the wooden boardwalk on the water surface is like being in a fairyland.

How beautiful it is to take pictures on wooden boardwalks, covered bridges, wooden pavilions, and water platforms.

The pond cypress is still emerald green, with a slight wave on the water surface. The reflection in the water is hazy, and the sun shines through the treetops, forming a rippling light spot on the water surface.

On the other side of the location shown in the picture, you can turn right at the exit of the ecological conservation area and walk about two to three hundred meters to reach it.

Tourists usually enjoy the beautiful scenery of the water forest in the conservation area and rarely check in at this place. There are few people here, and the view is wide, with a panoramic view of the water forest

Wetland Bay Weir has the potential to slow down the flowing lake water, increase the cycle of lake water flow, and further enhance the effect of water purification. The project "Research on Ecological Planting Mode in Dalian Lake Wetland Restoration Area" organized by the Wildlife Conservation and Management Station in 2010 showed that through ecological planting and breeding in Dalian Lake, the water quality in the demonstration area has been significantly improved. The deep removal rate of ammonia nitrogen in the water body is as high as 89%, and the COD removal rate reaches 67%. The water quality has been restored from Class V to Class C, and the biodiversity has been improved.

There are very few tourists here, and the attraction is a large wetland. If time is tight, there is no need to choose

When the gentle breeze blows by, from a distance, it looks like a sea of wheat. The Tang Dynasty poet Bai Juyi once used the phrase 'maple leaves, reeds, flowers, autumn rustling' to enhance the bleak autumn scenery.

Chishan and Ogi are matched, Chishan is already red in full swing, and Ogi is growing freely and majestic, with a strong desire to compete with Chishan.

Coming out of the conservation area and taking a walk around Lianxin Bridge, it would be perfect if we could come for a week around the lake. Unfortunately, time is not enough, so we can only look forward to coming back next time.
This autumn tour of Qingxi is on November 30th, and the pond cypress will become even redder in half a month. Although there are some regrets, there are still some thoughts left. The original plan was to write the travelogue again around the 15th. After listening to the weather forecast, the weather was not ideal and may not be as expected.
