I was born in Zhengzhou and am a native of Henan, but the place of origin in my household registration book is quite far away, far away in Zhenhai, Zhejiang. In the late 1950s and early 1960s, in order to support the construction of the mainland, my grandparents moved out of the lane on Bao 'an Road in Shanghai with their father, brother and sister. Along with the entire factory, they were pulled to Zhengzhou by a train to support the construction of the mainland. When I was a child at home in Zhengzhou, I listened to the soft language of Wu Nong in Shanghai. The pidgin in my grandparents 'mouth gradually developed a very contradictory feeling: on the one hand, I don't like Shanghainese who are small citizens, smart, and arrogant; on the other hand, I am deeply attracted by Shanghai's profound heritage and feel that part of myself is rooted there. Therefore, every year or two, I would find opportunities to go to Shanghai to stay for a few days, walk through the streets of old Shanghai, and eat my favorite food. However, there is no home for me in that city. Writing this article is not considered travel advice, because the places I go are very monotonous, there are always a few places, just sharing some simple itineraries I have made to Shanghai several times.
Zhouzhuang Ancient Town belongs to Kunshan, which is Shanghai's back garden and more than an hour's drive from Shanghai. Tickets are free in Zhouzhuang after 8:30 pm and before 8:00 a.m. Many B & Bs in the scenic area are clean and inexpensive. It is recommended to book a B & B in the scenic area, enter the scenic area after 8:30, and leave after playing the next morning. Zhouzhuang is most famous for its Shuangqiao painting by Chen Yifei. The snacks in the restaurant below the Shuangqiao are also absolutely authentic. While learning about Shen Wansan's story, while chewing on thousands of hooves, walking through the ancient houses with white walls and flowing water, I feel like a world away.
Hongkou District is the Laocheng District. Most of the people living in Hongkou are old Shanghainese. Shanghai's elderly people pay attention to their diet, and with the good air, they live a long life. Therefore, there are many elderly people on the small streets and parks. The most famous ones here are Hongkou Stadium and Hongkou Park (Lu Xun Park). The reason why Hongkou Park was renamed Lu Xun Park is because Lu Xun's former residences are very close to here. Bao 'an Road, where my father was born, is also very close to here.
Duolun Road Historical Celebrity Street is very close to Lu Xun Park, only about six to seven hundred meters away. It is also a free attraction. It is very quiet and not many people, so you can go and walk. Many famous people in modern history have lived here. Lu Xun and the owner of Neishan Bookstore happen here. Looking at the sign hanging on their doors that read "Private Residence, Do Not Disturb", I really envy the owners of these houses.
Tianzifang is directly connected to the subway. It is a cultural and creative center transformed from an old Shikumen style alley. When young artists and artists go to Shanghai, they must check in to take photos. What's special is that there are still residents living inside. It is very likely that you are walking around the alley and you have underwear dried by an old woman on your head. Unfortunately, literature and art were gradually defeated by commercial interests, and many distinctive shops inside were replaced by high-profit shops such as kebabs fruit tea. Below, I use several photos from a few years ago. At that time, I went there for the first time and was amazed. I recommend everyone to go to this restaurant next to Tianzifang. I once thought that I would never eat authentic Yangchun noodles again, but this one has authentic Shanghai flavor.
If you want to go to Xintiandi, you can go at night. There is a bar street, luxury shopping mall, and a venue for the first party. It seems that the first, second and fourth party are mostly held in Shanghai. Is the third party? If there are no suitable photos, just put two photos.
You can choose to go to Yuyuan at 4:00 p.m.. The Jiuqu Bridge in Yuyuan often appears in scenery photos and postcards from the 1970s and 1980s. The renovated Yuyuan is more splendid and tidy than before. I recommend going to that animation and handmade shop. It may be the largest handmade shop in the country.
After visiting Yu Garden, you will head east to the Huangpu River. You will see the night view of the Bund, the Pudong light show, the old buildings along the river, and then stroll around Nanjing Road. Old Shanghai pastries made by hand at several food stores on Nanjing Road are a must-eat. Shanghai's No. 1 Food Store is also a must. Unfortunately, the meat floss is no longer so authentic and cannot be purchased. The most amazing thing is that on such a bustling street as Nanjing Road, there are still alleys and households living here.
There are many old streets and old buildings in Shanghai. It is recommended to ride a shared bicycle and visit Wukang Road to see the beauty of the Wukang Building, a land warship, in the sunset. Shanghai is a city that entrusts its brilliance to the Bund and Lujiazui, while hides all its tenderness and delicacy in the bungalows and alleys deep in the courtyards. Wukang Road is such a Shanghai dream that will never fade. The buildings on Wukang Road were all mansions at that time before liberation. Now there are many courtyards that are used as private clubs and do not receive external services at all.
Crossing the river to Lujiazui, Pudong, there are two places that can overlook the Huangpu River and the Bund. One is the Oriental Pearl sightseeing floor, and the other is the central sightseeing floor of Shanghai. There is another recommendation: Duoyun Bookstore on the 52nd floor of central Shanghai. Make an online reservation and order a cup of coffee at the bookstore to enjoy the scenery.
There are many ancient towns around Shanghai, including Fengjing Ancient Town, Zhujiajiao Ancient Town, Xinchang Ancient Town, and Qibao Old Street. I have been to two places and there is no charge. Xinchang Ancient Town is a residential area, suitable for casual walks, and the prices inside are not expensive. Qibao is very commercial, with direct subway connections and crowded.
