During the Qingming Festival holiday, I had nothing to do, so I visited Shanghai Dajing Pavilion and Baiyun Temple not far from my residence. Xiao Xu is still traveling with him.
Dajing Pavilion is actually the Guandi Temple, which retains the only section of the city wall of Shanghai County in the past. The entire Dajing Pavilion is very small in area, and the remaining city walls are also very short. It does not take long to walk around inside. However, there are many Taoist institutions here, including the Shanghai Taoist Association.
As soon as you enter the door, there is a small courtyard. There are several red maples planted in the courtyard. At this time, the fiery red maple leaves have grown out, which looks more like an autumn scene.
Follow the steps and climb the city wall. This is the shortest city wall I have ever seen. There is a flagpole on the city wall, but there is no flag on it. The city wall is connected to a house with white walls and black tiles. After entering the door, there is a corridor first. At the end of the corridor is a patio. Under the patio is a well, but it is no longer in use. There is a large manhole cover on it, and there is also a lot of potted flowers placed on the manhole cover. On the opposite wall are written the four characters "Faith and Faith for a Thousand Years".
Opposite the courtyard is the main hall of Guandi Temple, which houses Guan Gong, Wu Caishen and Wenqu Xing. Beside Guan Gong stood Guan Ping and Zhou Cang. However, following the principle of not taking photos of the idol, I did not leave any photos.
Leaving the main hall from another door, this is another patio. In the patio is a small courtyard with a corridor with palace lanterns hanging above the corridor. The place is not big, but the scenery is good and it looks extremely peaceful.
Leaving this small courtyard, we returned the same way. Several antique wall bricks were found on the wall of the corridor where they had just entered the door, including those made during the Xianfeng period and the Tongzhi period.

White Cloud Temple is next to Dajing Pavilion. It is much larger than Dajing Pavilion, but it is still a small temple.
I bought a ticket at the place where I just entered the door. It was a fragrant flower coupon, so I could receive the fragrance for free. But we didn't get it. We were surprised that a young man behind us actually had a conversion certificate.
"Although the sparrow is small, it has all its five organs." There are many famous stories in this small temple. Opposite the gate is the Lingxiao Palace, where the Jade Emperor is worshipped. There is a Dharma meeting during the Qingming Festival, and today there are many Taoist priests practicing it here. I wanted to see how the Taoist priests did it, but I was afraid that it would be impolite to disturb them, so I didn't go there. We went straight up to the second floor.
On the second floor, there are Ancestral Hall, Sanqing Hall, Apothecary Hall, Financial Hall, Goddess Hall, Lei Zu Hall, etc. Among them, the Queen Mother, Guanyin and Mazu are housed in the Goddess Hall at the same time. This is the first time I have seen such a thing. The bell tower and the drum tower are separated on two sides. The big bell is engraved with the words "Shanghai Baiyun Temple" and "The country is peaceful and the people are safe".
Going down from the second floor to the first floor, passing in front of the Lingxiao Hall, the ritual continued. There are currently a total of 15 Taoist priests in Baiyun Temple. The clothes they wear are different, which should be based on their ranks. There were also two men who were not Taoist priests who participated in the ritual. They played a flute and a flute. Together with another Taoist priest who played a flute and a Taoist priest who knocked a wooden fish, they formed a small band. The music sounds messy, with no tunes and no clear rhythm. The two Taoist priests in the corner were obviously making soy sauce, and one of them was already a little sleepy. It was the first time I saw a ritual, and it was said to be the most formal ritual in Shanghai, but I didn't think it was too formal.
It didn't take much time to visit the two places because the areas were too small. I didn't feel much after reading it, just to pass the time.
