There are many reasons why I like to travel to Keqiao for parent-child travel: firstly, it is nearby, starting from the downtown area of Hangzhou, driving for 40 minutes, and the journey is not tiring; The second is to follow the textbook on a tour of Keqiao. The stories written by Mr. Lu Xun can be found in the scenic area of Lu Town, where even all the characters in Lu Xun's works live. Lu Town is a living textbook; The third is delicious food, never tire of it, and the biggest reason is for the longing on the tongue. My ancestral home is Shaoxing, and Shaoxing cuisine is the source of Yue cuisine, where there is the most unforgettable Jiangnan flavor!
A 48 hour parent-child trip to Keqiao during a short and long vacation, enjoying delicious foodDeparting from Hangzhou around 10:30 am on Day 1- Arriving at Anchang Ancient Town around 12:00 pm, enjoying various ancient town delicacies while strolling. In the evening, enjoy the "Keqiao Ten Bowls Head" dinner at the Junlan Hotel in Jianhu. In the evening, go shopping, sit in the city study, and stay at the Luzhen Inn at night;
On the morning of Day 2, visit the Keyan Scenic Area (Lu Town, Jianhu, Keyan), have lunch at Yihu Distillery, and observe the brewing of yellow wine; In the afternoon, go skiing at Qiaobo Ice and Snow World, listen to the Lotus Theater at night, and stay at the Lu Town Inn at night;
On the morning of Day 3, go to Keqiao Tangdi Village to pick and return to Hangzhou.
Day 1 Anchang Ancient TownThis is our first time coming to Anchang Ancient Town in June. In the past, we used to come around during the New Year because we love photography. It's the best time to come to Anchang Ancient Town to take photos of the New Year's flavor. Also, we come to eat delicious food, which is filled with a whole street of food. The food in Anchang Ancient Town is basically landmark, unlike other ancient towns in Jiangsu and Zhejiang where the food is all from the same mold. Coincidentally, the Chinese New Year has not arrived this year, and the greedy insects have already started to cause trouble.
Anchang Ancient Town is really close to Hangzhou, just adjacent to Xiaoshan District of Hangzhou. Anchang Ancient Town is not as famous as several other ancient towns in Jiangsu and Zhejiang, and its area is not large. However, it is very popular in the world. It is simple and elegant, with a strip of water and a strong sense of humanity. The prices are low, and the shops on both sides still use old-fashioned door panels and sunshade bamboo curtains, restoring the original charm of the water town.
The ancient town is filled with pickled and cured meat all year round, and almost every household is a master of pickled and cured meat. I remember it's best to buy and eat sausages right away. I think those packaged ones are not as good as those cooked and sold in shops. I'm telling the truth, hehe.
The weather in June at this time, walking in the ancient town, from beginning to end, is under the shaded corridor, which is also cool.
Every time I come here, I must eat a bowl of small Wonton. The thin skin is scattered in the clear soup, and a few pig fat splashes on it exude attractive fragrance. This delicious taste is the taste of Laodi.
The pull white sugar in Anchang Ancient Town is extremely famous, especially this one, whose tone is no less than any other Chinese restaurant. Every time I come, I either see the boss or the boss's wife pulling white sugar. There are long rows of piles by the river, and this branch has a small branch that is used to wrap around this white sugar. Pulling white sugar is made by dissolving maltose and white sugar into a pulled silk shape. Then, before the sugar has hardened, the syrup gradually turns from yellow to white, from short to long, from a thick and large strip to a silver like tangled thread. The thick and hot candy bars flipped up and down in the hands of the boss or boss's wife, as if wrapping around a yarn. Finally, they were cut into small pieces and mixed with ingredients to make various types of candy blocks. Ginger candy, pine nut candy, and so on are all my favorite foods... They cost 5 yuan per small package and are sweet as honey when put into my mouth. Due to the addition of light and fresh malt sugar in the sugar, it is sweet but not greasy, and also rich in nutritional value.
The pumpkin flowers of the Achang family are the most delicious in the ancient town. The hardworking brothers and sister-in-law guard their sincere small shop, using their own made bean paste. The proportion of pumpkin paste, the temperature of baking, and the use of crushed peanuts and sesame seeds with abundant ingredients... When the 30 pound oven mold is waved in Chang's hand, it reminds me of Li Kui waving his axe in the Water Margin.
Li Nong Cake Troupe is also a handmade workshop that has been passed down for a hundred years in the ancient town. The shop owner said that it is not the peak season now and business is relatively weak. He has a regular job in the ancient town and occasionally helps to support it in the shop. The family members all make cake troupes. During the Chinese New Year, when business is good, there can be a daily turnover of ten thousand yuan.
Hand made rice cakes, goose like eggs, sweet scented osmanthus wood lotus bean curd, Dragon Boat Festival Zongzi, steamed sausage, shredded radish cake, and all kinds of Pickled vegetables, all kinds of musty tofu are unique to Anchang Ancient Town. Even if there are some in other places, it is also different. This flavor is unique to Shaoxing in the south of the Yangtze River.
As for the low prices I mentioned, they are naturally relative. The prices in Anchang Ancient Town are the same as the market prices outside, without scenic spot prices. Middle aged and elderly people in Shanghai and Shanghai are particularly fond of this place, which also shows that the consumption here is affordable.
Eating and strolling along the way, reaching the innermost point, having enough to eat and drink, and also experiencing the Shaoxing Wupeng Boat. The Wupeng Boat in Anchang Ancient Town costs 40 yuan per trip, accommodating 3 people, with an average cost of 13.3 yuan per person. This water taxi is definitely worth it!
Jianhu Junlan Hotel, Keqiao "Ten Bowls Head"I have also stayed at Jianhu Hotel multiple times, with a very advantageous geographical location, adjacent to the Keyan Scenic Area, and excellent catering services. This time, we booked the "Keqiao Ten Bowls Head" special banquet.
I used to know that Shaoxing has ten bowl heads, but before this trip, I found out through a guide that Keqiao also has its own ten bowl heads. Keqiao has a unique geographical advantage, with fish and shrimp grown from good mountains and water, and vegetables grown from good taste! This time we came to the Chinese restaurant of the Junlan Hotel in Jianhu and tasted the famous chef's Keqiao Ten Bowl Head. The taste was not shallow.
‼️ The ten bowls of Keqiao are: Jianhu Qingshui River Shrimp, Jianhu No.1 Fish Head, Braised Pork with Dried Vegetables, White Kidney and Goose, Frozen Pork, Pickled and Cured Plate, New Shaoxing Assorted Vegetables, Keqiao Dried Tofu, Bamboo Shoot Mouth Malan Head, Pickled and Steamed Winter Bamboo Shoots. Apart from seasonal winter pickled vegetables and winter bamboo shoots, the rest are perfect!
City Study - Book ClubAfter drinking and eating, we drove outside to take a stroll and also saw the changes in Keqiao. We specifically checked in to Keqiao's first "City Study - Book Fair".
This "urban study" was renovated from a garbage transfer station, from an abandoned place that people are afraid to avoid, to a cultural relay station that warms people's hearts, becoming a new cultural landscape in the local area. The "Youshu Hui" is located at the intersection of Qunxian Road and Huxi Road in Keqiao District. The Jiangnan style architecture with white walls and black tiles is very eye-catching. The interior is full of wooden bookshelves and desks, arranged in a staggered manner in the space. The bookshelves are filled with various books, and under the warm yellow light, it makes people feel like they want to sit down and read. According to reports, there will be 20 such urban study rooms in Keqiao in 2021, which will be warmed up
Day 2: Lu TownThe next morning, I slept until I woke up naturally, and after enjoying a sumptuous breakfast at the Lu Town Inn, I left the entrance to the Lu Town Scenic Area. Lu Town was originally a fictional town in Lu Xun's writings, and the Lu Town Scenic Area was built as a rural town theme park to recreate Lu Xun's portrayal of Lu Town. Luzhen is adjacent to Jianhu Lake, with shops, inns, cultural exhibition halls, stage gates, and more. On the streets of Luzhen, there are actors portraying characters such as Ah Q and Xianglin Sao in Lu Xun's novels, which are very realistic and can be taken with them. There are small shops selling Shaoxing snacks along the street, and you can also go to the "gambling room" to play two gambling games and experience the charm of the old Shaoxing water town.
This year is really rare. Due to the impact of the epidemic, tour groups cannot come, so the scenic area is relatively empty. These characters in Lu Xun's works would have had to queue up for half a day to squeeze through the crowd for a photo in previous years. This time, my children are lucky to have all the copies. When taking a photo with Runtu, Ah Q even handed them a small black felt hat for the children to wear, it was so fun.
Let's take a group photo of my child with the actors a few years ago. Our family usually comes to Keqiao 1-2 times a year, and every time we come, we visit Jianhu Lu Town in Keyan. We are loyal fans.
They are Lu Zhen in Lu Xun's writings, Ah Q, Xianglin Sao, Run Tu, Hua Laoshuan, Lu Si Lao Ye, Xiao Nu... These characters walk around us vividly, their every move and expression are deeply ingrained in the play, they are textbooks of life, where to find them! Once the measures are taken, the impression will be profound. Every day in Lu Town, there are several major performances such as Ah Q's trial, which recreate the plot and story of Lu Xun's works. The performance is very vivid. If you come to play, you must understand the performance schedule in advance and not miss it.
The large stage in Lu Town is double-sided, facing the square on one side and the lake on the other. This is the social drama depicted by Lu Xun. In many places in Shaoxing, we can see the old social drama platforms. In scenic areas such as Keyan and Donghu, we can see the social drama platforms built by the lake. Shaoxing is the hometown of Yue Opera, and the performance on the stage is the classic excerpt of the Yue Opera Dream of the Red Chamber, "A Lin Sister Falling from the Sky.".
Jianhu LakeThe Keyan Scenic Area is composed of three scenic spots: Keyan, Jianhu, and Luzhen, and these three spots need to be connected by boat. The scenic area has arranged painted boats for tourists, and boat tickets are included in the tickets. Due to the impact of the epidemic, the scenic area currently does not accept tickets, so tourists need to pay 15 yuan for painted boat tickets. We take a paddle boat, which costs 180 yuan per boat and can accommodate three people.
Jianhu Lake is the "Mother Lake" of Shaoxing, with four scenic spots including the Eastern Han Dynasty Flute Pavilion, Nanyang Autumn Fan, Wuqiao Buyue, and Hulu Zui Island. Here, you can take a canopies boating on Jianhu Lake, and also taste yellow wine and watch the flowing wine on Hulu Zui Island, experiencing Shaoxing's yellow wine culture.
Ke YanThe core landscape of Keyan Scenic Area is located in Keyan. Keyan Stone Buddha was carved by Tang Dynasty monks based on the rock, resembling a Maitreya sitting statue. It was carved from a rock that is about 10 meters high, and the ears of the stone Buddha are connected, allowing one person to freely walk through the cave. It is evident that this Buddha is of great stature.
Ke Yan is known for his unique cloud bone and is known as the number one stone in the world. It is a great wonder created by quarrying stones since the Sui and Tang dynasties. Soaring straight into the clouds from the flat ground, it has a winding shape with a wide top and narrow bottom, like an upside down pagoda, which can be called a wonder. The cloud bone is over 30 meters high, with a bottom circumference of only 4 meters. From a distance, it looks like a pillar of smoke, curling up into the sky, hence it is also known as "furnace pillar clear smoke.". The two characters "Yungu" were carved during the Guangxu period, which are taller than humans. The ancient cypress at the top is verdant, with its winding branches slanting horizontally. According to research, the age of the tree has exceeded a thousand years.
In addition, there are various scenic spots such as the Silkworm Flower Cave, Seven Star Rock, and Bat Cave, all of which were left by ancient quarrying. The caves are deep and have different postures. After years of vigorous development, a number of new scenic spots have been excavated in Ke Yan. Lianhua Tingyin, Qixingyan, Sanyuan, Yuenu Chunxiao, Jingshui Feipu, and Yuezhong Mingshi Yuan all have different styles and are full of fun, making them new tourist destinations in Shaoxing.
Yihu WineryAt noon, we had a meal at a lake wine restaurant on Huludao in Jianhu Scenic Area. The figure in the central statue of Huludao is King Goujian of Yue, who is pouring yellow wine into the river and drinking it with the soldiers. Shaoxing is a wine city and the birthplace of Chinese yellow wine. Yellow wine is the oldest type of wine in China and one of the three ancient wines in the world. Its history is as long as beer and wine. Even as early as the Hemudu period, yellow wine already had the conditions for brewing. Shaoxing liquor is a specialty of Shaoxing. So why is the quality of Shaoxing liquor so excellent? This is naturally related to the excellent use of ingredients and the exquisite brewing process. However, hiring experienced winemakers from Shaoxing to make wine in other places, even if the same raw materials and traditional techniques are used, the resulting wine can only be called "imitation Shaoxing", with a vastly different taste. The difference lies in the water. Liang Zhangju of the Qing Dynasty had already mentioned this issue in his "Continuation of Waves": "Between the cover of Shanyin and Kuaiji, water is most suitable for drinking, but changing places cannot be good. Therefore, people from Shaoxing brewed it like this in his mansion, but the water is different, and the taste is far inferior." This different water is the Jianhu water in Shaoxing.
In the Yihu Distillery, we watched the entire process of making Shaoxing yellow wine.
In the yellow wine workshop, watching the winemakers manually operate traditional press and filter machines, when the yellow wine is squeezed out, it appears slightly cloudy at first sight, but soon becomes very clear. The capacity of the wine is not very good, and the brewing room is not long because the air is full of the aroma of wine, which is intoxicating. After being pressed and filtered, the wine needs to be disinfected and sterilized before being put into a jar. The jar mouth is sealed with soil and stored in a cool place or underground kiln.
I am someone who knows how to drink alcohol. Huangjiu is a taste passed down in my family, so I took the opportunity to drink a good cup. The wine here is really not ordinary and fragrant.
Lunch was enjoyed at the Yihu Winery, which also operates a homestay called Puzhu. The space is simple and exquisite, and each room is named after a category of Huangjiu, including Huadiao, Shanjiu, Xiangxue, Yuanhong... While exchanging Huangjiu culture with the homestay owner Zhu Zong, enjoy Puzhu's private kitchen and family banquet, which is truly a rare opportunity.
Qiaobo Ice and Snow WorldIn the afternoon, I came to Qiaobo Ice and Snow World for skiing. Qiaobo Indoor Ski Resort is a sports and leisure theme park that features indoor skiing, integrating entertainment, meetings, expansion training, and skiing schools. It adopts advanced artificial snow making and refrigeration technology. In the scorching summer, the snow on the field will still be over half a meter thick, and the ambient temperature will remain around minus three degrees Celsius. For the first time playing, it is recommended to seek guidance from a coach. You should get started quickly. If you want to become proficient, you need to come more. However, enjoying skiing in the scorching summer is really enjoyable!
Lotus TheaterIn the evening, I went to the Lotus Theater at the Keqiao Cultural Development Center to watch the local opera "Drunken Memories of Keqiao". With the theme of "Drunken Keqiao" and the integration of traditional local opera, I used yellow wine as the entry point and borrowed Shaoxing Master as the image spokesperson to perform on stage. The more I watched it, the more enjoyable it was. This is a microcosm of the cultural and tourism integration in Keqiao District. In short, we are becoming more and more fond of playing in Keqiao!
Day 3: Caidi VillageI came to Tangdi Village because my friend recommended the fruit and vegetable picking here to me. My child and I love picking very much. Firstly, we grew up in the jungle of reinforced concrete, and we were already full of longing for the beauty of the countryside. Secondly, we enjoyed the parent-child pleasure of picking. Thirdly, we were extremely fond of the fresh and organic vegetables and fruits, which are healthy and nutritious, and also have an unparalleled freshness and sweetness. We drove from Keyan via Fuli Highway to Tangdi Village, which took about ten minutes. Here, the mountains and waters are beautiful, the scenery is charming, and it is a peaceful and beautiful countryside on the outskirts of the city.
The entrance of the village is the Cultural Hall, and the cultural hall in this village is quite different from what I have seen in many places before. The cultural halls in most villages in Zhejiang are in a large venue style. On one side of the Tangdi Village Cultural Hall is the office of the village administrative service center, while on the other side is more like an orchid museum.
I accidentally wanted to come in and take a break, but I didn't expect to find such an exquisite and unparalleled orchid museum in the rural auditorium. Upon closer inspection, I found out that Tangdi Village was originally the hometown of Chinese spring orchids. "Goujian must choose a place to plant orchids, and the blue waves and red fragrance will be passed down to the world." According to the "Yue Jue Shu", Goujian planted orchids at the foot of Lanzhu Mountain. For thousands of years, Tangdi people have been raising and selling orchids for generations, and a large number of orchid giants have emerged. At present, four 95% phenomena have emerged in Tangdi Village: more than 95% of people are engaged in the flower and tree industry, more than 95% of the land is planted with flowers and trees, more than 95% of income comes from flowers and trees, and more than 95% of people with labor capacity are self-employed. The long-standing orchid culture is not only the spiritual belief that the people of Tangdi have relied on for thousands of years, but also the source of vitality for Tangdi Village to transform from a remote small mountain village into a beautiful and exquisite garden.
Nowadays, Tangdi Village focuses on the culture of orchids, creating articles about the hometown of deep national orchids and blooming Tangdi, creating personalized CPs, and even making colorful felt hats.
In addition to the dazzling black felt hats, the craftsmen in the village have also created various cultural tourism products with orchids as the theme.
On the way to the picking park, I passed by the orchid breeding demonstration base in the village, where a high standard glass greenhouse of about 3000 square meters looked particularly high-end, atmospheric, and upscale. I specifically went in to visit it.
The main focus here is on cultivating high-end flowers, and there are many varieties of orchids alone. The most amazing thing is that the orchids here are all automatically sprayed for irrigation. The gardeners in the garden only need to start the spraying system with one click, and the entire area is completed uniformly without spraying like atomization. This fully automatic cultivation method greatly reduces labor costs.
What kind of work is this done by immortals in the flower office in the park? I envy you so much!
Moving on to this 12000 square meter film connected greenhouse, where popular plants such as tomatoes or chili peppers are mainly grown. In addition to the demonstration base, the Smart Agriculture Research Institute has also settled here, researching three levels of direction groups: industry university research transformation and industrial incubation, facility agriculture equipment design, testing and testing, and automation supporting equipment for efficient production of facility agriculture. After the completion of the research institute, four major public service functions are being implemented, including the introduction and exchange of high-end talents in smart agriculture and intelligent agricultural machinery equipment, incubation and transformation of industry university research achievements, technology and funding cooperation, and talent training platforms.
Entering the greenhouse, the indoor temperature is about 25 degrees Celsius, cool and comfortable. The thousand square meter greenhouse in front of us is planted with small tomatoes called "Sakura Powder No.1", which is a new product developed by the Academy of Agricultural Sciences. Currently, there are no available products on the market, only for tourists who come to the village for sightseeing and picking.
This little tomato is organically grown and can be eaten directly after picking it. The tomato itself has a rich aroma, and it tastes very sweet. Each one is full of juice. The price is not expensive, 8 yuan per box, about one kilogram
There is also a mini pocket watermelon.
This type of fruit cucumber is also not available in the market. The picking arrangement was a bit hasty this time, and I only found out that there is also a popular Lanxin homestay in Tangdi Village. In terms of local cuisine, the traditional cuisine of Tangdi people has obvious characteristics, with "steaming, boiling, and warming" as its cooking characteristics, emphasizing the original soup, clear oil, and avoiding spicy. Fresh ingredients are often paired with pickled and cured foods and steamed and stewed together. Next time, I must stay here for two days to deepen the modern technology accompanied rural life.
Travel and accommodation: Lu Family Inn (Kaiyuan Yiju)The Lu Family Inn is located at the entrance of the Lu Town scenic area, and is managed by the Kaiyuan Hotel Group. The entire hotel is full of Jiangnan charm, with warm room decorations and soft details such as bedding, toiletries, breakfast, etc., which also give people a very comfortable feeling.

The three-day and two night trip during the small holiday was a bit rushed. Keqiao is such a great place for parent-child treasure travel. After the Dragon Boat Festival, it's summer vacation. Let's take our children to Ankeqiao and read about the ancient town of Jiangnan described by Lu Xun, the "Ten Bowls Head" of Keqiao, the source of Zhejiang cuisine. Go skiing and enjoy the fun of "farming" under modern technology in the scorching summer!
