"Jiangnan is good, and the scenery has been known before. At sunrise, the flowers on the river are as red as fire, and in spring, the river is as green as blue." I still remember reading Bai Juyi's poem in a textbook, and I yearned for the beautiful scenery of Jiangnan. Although Jiangnan is not far from Changchun, it has not been easy to make it until now. In view of the fatigue of traveling with a group, I chose to travel freely. The following is my free travel notes. If you happen to go to these cities, if you also choose to travel freely, then just follow my article. It's okay.

The ticket was booked on Ctrip one week in advance. Changchun-Hangzhou 2019-10-29 12:50-17:45. The flight time is good and the price is not expensive. The ticket for two people only cost 1480 yuan. This season is the off-season for tourism, and the ticket price is very beautiful.

2019-10-29

The flight we took at 17:45 basically arrived on time. The Xiaoshan Airport Bus Waiting Room is located at Gate 8 of the Arrival Hall of the Terminal Building. We took the Wulin Gate (Pinghai Road) special line (the fare is 20 yuan, it takes about 55 minutes). The bus stopped halfway: Metropark Hotel Pinghai Road, only 300 meters away from the Marco Polo Holiday Hotel where we were going to stay. I have to say that it was a wise move for us to stay at Holiday Inn Marco Polo and I highly recommend this hotel for free travelers. I previously booked a standard room with twin beds through Ctrip. When we checked in, the hotel upgraded us to a suite with an extra children's room. This is a suite with a separate bathroom and the room is full of toys. This unexpected harvest surprised us, although we couldn't use it for both of us, haha! The hotel is located in the West Lake Lakeside Circle, only a few hundred meters away from the West Lake. It is just outside of Wushan Square, Yintai Commercial District and Subway Station. There are no other problems except the small price. Oh, by the way, breakfast is not included in the hotel's room rate. You can pay for its buffet breakfast separately, or you can eat nearby, where there are many breakfast shops nearby. It is already the end of October, and winter has already entered the north, but the weather in Hangzhou is very pleasant. The temperature is around 10-22 degrees. You can wear short sleeves and skirts during the day, and an extra dress at night.

In the evening, we went to the nearby Jiujiali, an Internet celebrity shop of Hangbang cuisine. Although it was nearly nine o'clock, it was very noisy. We ordered the famous Song Sao Fish Soup, Dongpo Pork, Pianerchuan and Bamboo Mountains. Wild vegetables are a little salty, but the other dishes taste really good.

2019-10-30

In the morning, we chose to eat at the hotel for RMB 78 per person. The breakfast buffet has a wide variety of choices, the environment is comfortable and the taste is good. After breakfast, we walked to the West Lake and took a boat tour of the West Lake (ticket ticket is 90 yuan). My companion suggested taking a boat. In fact, I still recommend walking to the West Lake, because by boat you can only see limited attractions such as the Three Tanks and the Yin Moon, while there are many attractions on foot. When you are tired, you can also take a sightseeing bus around the lake (There are 4 sections around the lake, each section is 20 yuan/person. The journey is about 13.5 kilometers and the time is about 70 minutes). The attractions of the West Lake are not the scenery, but the legends and allusions behind them. Just take a sightseeing bus and browse around. Listening to electronic explanations and blowing in the breeze by the lake is really a pleasant thing! Admission to the West Lake is free, but tickets for Santan Yinyue and Leifeng Pagoda are charged separately. You can visit these attractions if you have time.

At noon, we had dinner at Zhiweiguan (Yanggongdi Store). The dishes were expensive and the taste was average. One of them was made with fish balls that were difficult to swallow and was not recommended.

In the evening we went to Qinghefang Street. Every city has one such ancient street, and in Hangzhou it is Qinghefang Street. The street was brightly lit and lively. We ate Wufangzhai meat dumplings, onion buns stewed, and soup dumplings. We didn't shop. It was good to stroll around this place.

The West Lake Music Fountain is open at 17:00 and 18:00 every night. We took a taxi to the West Lake after coming out of Qinghefang Street. There were too many people, and the music fountain couldn't be seen clearly. It had no special features. I would not recommend it.

2019-10-31

We didn't eat at the hotel in the morning, so we chose to eat at the nearby breakfast shop. After all, it was located on the edge of the West Lake. Breakfast was expensive. A bowl of soy milk cost 8 yuan. This breakfast restaurant cost 69 yuan and is not recommended.

After breakfast, we took the No. 102 bus to Xixi National Wetland Park (about 40 minutes by car). Xixi National Wetland Park is located in the west of Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province, less than 5 kilometers away from the West Lake, with a total planned area of 11.5 square kilometers. The total length of rivers in the wetland is more than 100 kilometers, and about 70% of the area is river ports, ponds, lake ponds, swamps and other waters. The wetland park is rich in ecological resources, elegant natural landscapes, and profound cultural heritage. Together with West Lake and Xiling, it is called Hangzhou's "Three West". It is China's first national-level wetland park integrating urban wetlands, agricultural wetlands, and cultural wetlands. It is also China's first national wetland park with a national 5A-level scenic spot.

We entered the wetland from Xixi Paradise, and the first thing we saw was Gaozhuang, the residence of Emperor Kangxi's teacher Gao Shiqi. Gaozhuang has an elegant scenery, with small bridges and flowing water, and pavilions all exude the beauty of Jiangnan water towns. Coincidentally, Gaozhuang is free of charge before 11 o'clock every day. When we went there at exactly 10:01, saving 40 yuan in tickets, haha. After touring Gaozhuang, we took the battery car of the scenic spot to Hezhu Street, the core area of Xixi (the battery car was 10 yuan per person, which was also charged per section). We ordered two bowls of soba noodles at Uncle Kanmai's noodle shop in Hezhu Street. It tasted great!

After taking a nap at Uncle Kanmai's house, we purchased tickets to enter the main part of Xixi, which is the fee-paying attraction (admission is 80 yuan, electric boat is 60 yuan), and took a boat to tour the scenery on both sides of the Taiwan Strait. "The victory of Xixi lies solely in the water." The waterways are like alleys, river branches are like nets, fish ponds are lined, and the islands are covered with chess. In the park, the reed is white and persimmon red, the mulberry is green and the water is blue, the bamboo is green and plum is fragrant, and the herons dance in the Yan Xiang, cold, wild, light and elegant are all natural.

After visiting Xixi at 2 o'clock in the afternoon, we went to Feilaifeng (entrance fee is 45 yuan). Feilaifeng faces the hillside of Lingyin Temple. There are more than 340 Buddhist grotto statues dating back to the Five Dynasties. The stone carvings include the Three Western Saints (Five Dynasties), the Lusena Buddhist Society embossed (Northern Song Dynasty), Budai Monk (Southern Song Dynasty), Vajra Hand Bodhisattva, Douwen King, and Manxiang Guanyin (all from the Yuan Dynasty). They are all rare artistic treasures. What is particularly eye-catching is the smiling Maitreya Buddha with a bare chest and belly. This is the largest statue in the Feilaifeng Grottoes and a masterpiece of statue art in the Song Dynasty.

Lingyin Temple, also known as Yunlin Temple, is located in Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province, backed by the north peak and facing Feilai Peak. Lingyin Temple is mainly composed of Tianwang Hall, Daxiong Hall, Apothecary Hall, Fa Hall, and Huayan Hall as the central axis, and is attached to both sides by 500 Arhat Hall, Jigong Hall, Huayan Pavilion, Da Bei Building, and Abbot Building. Lingyin Temple is located in the Feilaifeng Scenic Area. If you want to go to Lingyin Temple, you must first purchase tickets for Feilaifeng before entering. Of course, tickets for Lingyin Temple are also charged, 30 yuan per person.

In the evening, we went to my grandma's house in Hangzhou Building for dinner. Compared with yesterday's Zhiweiguan, my grandma's house was extremely cost-effective, delicious and inexpensive. We only spent 176 yuan for ordering a table. Recommended!

Today's last trip is a night tour of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, which is an unforgettable experience (100 yuan for ticket). We purchased tickets and boarded the ship at Wulin Men Ferry Terminal and experienced the beauty of the Grand Canal in the dark. After night falls, take a night tour of the pleasure boat and wander on the canal surrounded by night lights. I can hear the sound of the pleasure boat moving forward in my ears, and the dazzling lights in front of you. This leisurely feeling is something you can't experience when walking on the shore. It is highly recommended.

2019-11-1

Today's breakfast was very good. Xinfeng, a small shop frequented by locals.

After breakfast, I checked out, took the subway to Hangzhou Passenger Transport Center Station (No. 3339 Desheng East Road, Jiubao Town)(stop at Exit D of Longguanxiang Bridge, ticket price is 5 yuan, 11 stops, 40 minutes), and took the bus to Wuzhen (ticket price is 38 yuan, 75 minutes). After arriving at Wuzhen Bus Station, I took a taxi to Jiuqi, which was booked by Ctrip. Lanshe Design Hotel (2 kilometers away, cost 12 yuan). The day I arrived in Wuzhen was Friday, the most expensive day of the week. The usual price of a large bed room from 238 yuan has increased to 268 yuan. Although it is a B & B, the accommodation feels good. The hotel is located at No. X, Ciyun Road, less than 500 meters away from the Xizha Scenic Area, which is a good place to stay. It is recommended to book a room near Ciyun Road when visiting Wuzhen, because Ciyun Road is too close to Xizha, while Huanhe Road is relatively close to Dongzha.

After packing our luggage, we went to Dongzha. We had lunch at the small shop outside Dongzha, and then bought a joint ticket for the East-West Gate (ticket was 190 yuan) and started our tour of Dongzha. The scenery of Dongzha is similar to that of Xizhai, except that it feels that Dongzha is older and the buildings have a more chronological sense. The east gate is much smaller than the west gate, so it takes an hour to stroll around.

After visiting Dongzha, I took the free shuttle bus from Dongzha to Xizha to Xizha. In a word, Xizha is so beautiful, please directly upload the picture.

The night boat trip to Xizha is at 17:10 every day, and the ticket is 60 yuan.

Nanzha is said to be the place where Wuzhen residents live. We didn't go there for limited time.

For dinner, I went to the Sketch Restaurant on the edge of Xizha, only a few hundred meters away from the hotel. I used the ticket for Group X, but the boss didn't ask for a fraction. The meal cost only 102 yuan, which was affordable. Hehe, the millet cake was very delicious.

2019-11-2

Tickets for Wuzhen were for one visit on the same day, so the next day we packed our bags and took a bus from Wuzhen Bus Station to Suzhou North Passenger Station (the bus ticket was booked one day in advance on Ctrip, the fare was 38 yuan, and the journey was 90 minutes). The hotel we booked was Suzhou Ji Hotel (Guanqian Street Leqiao Subway Station). The hotel is in an excellent location, only 30 meters from Metro Exit 5 and only a few hundred meters from Guanqian Street. It is only three subway stops away from Suzhou North Passenger Station. Guanqian Street is another local ancient street, but it is not recommended to go there. It is not interesting.

Breakfast in Wuzhen:

Guanqian Street:

At noon, we had dinner at Wumen People's House (Panruxiang Store) on the edge of Lion Grove. This is an online celebrity shop and a time-honored brand. It is very popular. There are many diners waiting in line, as well as many foreign friends.

After dinner, we went to Lion Grove (less than 100 meters away from Wumen's house, entrance fee is 30 yuan). Lion Forest is located in the northeast of Suzhou City. It is named "Lion Forest" because the park is lined with stone peaks and looks like lions. Lion Grove is one of the four famous parks in Suzhou and a national AAAA tourist attraction. When we went there, we just happened to catch the Golden Autumn Chrysanthemum Festival. The big chrysanthemums were gorgeous and beautiful!

Then we went to the Suzhou Museum. The site of the Taiping Rebellion's Mansion is a group of historical buildings of the Taiping Rebellion that are well preserved in China. In 1999, the Suzhou Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government invited I.M. Pei, a world-wide Chinese architect, to design the new Suzhou Museum. On October 6, 2006, the new Suzhou Museum was completed and officially opened to the public. The new museum covers an area of approximately 10700 square meters and a construction area of more than 19000 square meters. Together with the renovated Zhong Palace of the Taiping Rebellion, the total construction area reaches 26500 square meters and the investment reaches 339 million yuan. It is a comprehensive museum integrating modern building, ancient architecture and innovative landscape gardens. To go to the Suzhou Museum, you need to make reservations online in advance. The museum is closed every Monday. The number of people making reservations every day is about 7000, and group tours account for about 20%. Suzhou Museum is free of charge, but it is well worth a visit. The main courtyard of the Suzhou Museum is connected to the partition wall of the Humble Administrator's Garden on the north side of the museum. Looking from the museum, the tall ancient trees in the Humble Administrator's Garden sway in the wind, and the old and new garden scenery are disconnected.

Lion Grove, Suzhou Museum, and Humble Administrator's Garden are all very close to each other. They are all on the garden road, making it very convenient to play.

This is Humble Administrator's Garden.

For dinner, I ordered takeout from Dongwu Noodle Restaurant. The noodle shop was only more than 100 meters away from the hotel. When the noodles were delivered, the noodles were still boiling hot. The amount of noodles was estimated to be 4 taels. The beef was also sufficient, so I had a full meal!

2019-11-3

The breakfast throughout the season is a buffet. There are not many varieties, but the taste is good. The separate charge is 28 yuan per person, which is very good for money.

On the second day in Suzhou, we went to Huqiu Mountain to play (entrance fee is 60 yuan). The Huqiu Mountain Scenic Area, located in the northwest corner of the ancient city of Suzhou, is a national AAA-level tourist attraction. It has a long history of more than 2500 years. It is known as "the No. 1 Scenic Spot in Wuzhong" and "the No. 1 Mountain in Wuzhong". Su Dongpo, a great poet of the Song Dynasty, wrote the famous saying that "I have said that Suzhou does not visit Tiger Hill or visit Luqiu."

We took a battery car (ticket is 40 yuan) to the top of the mountain. The Tiger Hill Tower is the second leaning tower in the world and the first leaning tower in China. It is a symbol of ancient Suzhou. It has seven floors and eight sides. The tower is 47.7 meters high. The tower tilts north-northeast. Its top is 2.34 meters away from the center. The maximum inclination is 3 degrees 59 minutes. The Tiger Hill Tower is also known as the "Leaning Tower of Pisa in China". The Tiger Hill Pagoda, which stands high on the top of the mountain, has become a symbol of Suzhou. Therefore, it confirms Su Dongpo's words that when you go to Suzhou, you must visit Tiger Hill.

After touring Tiger Hill, we took a cruise ship from Tiger Hill South to Shantang Street (ticket ticket is 50 yuan) to visit Qili Shantang. Shantang Street is located in the northwest of the ancient city of Suzhou, east to Changmen, the "first-class and second-class rich and romantic place" in the red dust, and west to Tiger Hill, the "No. 1 scenic spot in Wuzhong". It is about 3600 meters long, or about 7 miles, so it is called "Qilishantang to Tiger Hill". By the way, this is another ancient local street. They are all ancient streets, but the differences are also big. Shantang Street is built next to the river."Living goods are piled up on the mountains, flowing water and flowing water, and there are signs lined up, as bright as clouds of brocade". It is much more fun than Guanqian Street! We had lunch at Manji Desserts at noon. We ate a little too much in the morning and only ordered two foods.

I went to the Lingering Garden in the afternoon (entrance fee is 45 yuan). Lingering Garden is a classical garden in Suzhou that was built in the Ming Dynasty. In the Qing Dynasty, it was called "Hanbi Villa", commonly known as "Liu Garden", and later changed to "Lingering Garden". It is famous for its exquisite architectural layout and numerous strange stones. It is also called China's Four Famous Gardens along with Suzhou Humble Administrator's Garden, Beijing Summer Palace, and Chengde Summer Resort.

After staying in the garden, I went to Hanshan Temple (entrance fee is 20 yuan). Hanshan Temple was once one of the top ten famous temples in China. There are many historical relics in the temple, including the stone inscriptions by Zhang Jishi, the stone inscriptions of Hanshan and Shi De, and fragments of inscriptions written by Wen Zhengming and Tang Yin. The scenery of Hanshan Temple is average. I went here entirely for Zhang Ji's song "Mooring at Night on Maple Bridge"

We ordered takeout for dinner again.

2019-11-4

The last stop of this trip was Yangzhou. Yangzhou, known as Guangling, Jiangdu and Weiyang in ancient times, is known as "the famous capital of Huaizuo and the best place in Zhuxi". Yangzhou is also called "Moon City"."Three parts of the world are bright and night, and two parts of the scoundrel are Yangzhou." There are no direct trains from Suzhou to Yangzhou. We took the high-speed train and transferred in Nanjing. After nearly three hours of driving, we arrived in Yangzhou (the train ticket is 137 yuan). I still suggest taking the train there because high-speed rail and bullet trains are fast, have spacious seats, and do not get motion sickness. It is much better than taking a passenger car!

The hotel where Yangzhou stayed was Orange Collection on Dahongqiao Road (twin-bed room was 325 yuan per night, and a taxi from Yangzhou Railway Station was 27 yuan to the hotel). To be honest, we didn't really want to stay in Orange at first. The room was quite big, more than 30 square meters, but the light was too dim and didn't have that bright feeling. We wanted to change hotels, so we looked at Quan Ji, Junting and Hongqiao Square, but the location was not good, or the room price was too expensive. After looking around, we thought Orange was better, so we decided to stay here because the hotel's location is so good, only 300 meters away from the south gate of Slender West Lake. Next to the hotel is Hongqiaofang Ancient Street, which is extremely convenient for dining. Next to the hotel are Quanjude, Yechun Tea House, Starbucks, He's eldest son's wine, Zhou's second miss's food, Dongyuan snacks and other shops. There is also Xie Fuchun Specialty Store nearby, which is a high-quality domestic product from Yangzhou Real Estate and can be seen everywhere during subsequent trips to Yangzhou.

I had dinner at Yechun Tea House. I ate the legendary crab roe buns, hot dried shredded rice, and Yangzhou fried rice. The taste was okay.

2019-11-5

"Wrap in water in the morning and wrap in water at night", representatives of Yangzhou cuisine first promoted morning tea. A cup of fragrant tea in the morning is accompanied by chatting while eating, drinking, and going to the bathtub at night to take a bath. This is nothing more than an immortal. Although today's Yangzhou has long lost its aura of wealth among the world, morning tea culture has not been lost at all.

The morning tea house we went to was Quyuan Tea House. Speaking of Yangzhou Quyuan, this teahouse located in Yangzhou Guesthouse can be said to be unknown to everyone. Quyuan was originally the residence of the salt merchants. When Emperor Qianlong visited Yangzhou for the sixth time, he visited it four times. The name of the park "Quyuan" was also given by Qianlong. Due to historical reasons, only Siqiao Yanyu Building, Cong Guiting and Cheng Bi Building are left in the Quyuan Building. Today's Quyuan also has functions such as a western restaurant, coffee shop, and tea house. In Quyuan Restaurant, people can taste the exquisiteness and delicacy of Huaiyang cuisine and appreciate the superb cooking skills of Yangzhou chefs. We didn't make any reservations online before, so we went to Quyuan to make an on-site appointment early in the morning with the intention of giving it a try. The appointment was scheduled for the 36th day. We waited for an hour before we could eat the morning tea from Quyuan Tea House. The taste is better than the Yechun we ate the day before. The dishes are exquisite and the environment is elegant. It is very worth a visit! Yangzhou nourishes a comfortable and slow life with years of refinement and comfort. This kind of leisurely attitude towards life eliminates the fast-paced catch-up in first-tier cities and gives you the leisure to taste slow life.

After breakfast, we walked to Slender West Lake (entrance fee is 100 yuan). Slender West Lake has formed a basic pattern during the Kangxi and Qianlong periods of the Qing Dynasty, and is known as "the prosperity of gardens and the best in the world." Slender West Lake is mainly divided into 14 major attractions, including Wuting Bridge, Twenty-Four Bridge, Lotus Pond, Diaoyutai, etc.

In the afternoon, I went to the Bajiao Memorial Hall, Dongguan Street, Geyuan, and Heyuan alone. To be honest, none of them were as interesting as Slender West Lake. Maybe I had visited Suzhou gardens too much before, and I felt that the gardens were nothing more than this.

I walked a total of 30,000 steps that day, and I don't think I'll ever walk such steps again. I was exhausted and took a taxi back to the hotel for 7 yuan. I had dinner in the nearby Dongyuan that night. The noodles I ordered were actually very light and delicious. It seems that life is full of surprises!

2019-11-6

The return ticket was booked on Ctrip one week in advance: Yangzhou-Changchun 11:30-14:05, and the ticket price was 390 yuan. Yangzhou does not have its own airport. It shares the same airport with Taizhou. The name is Yangzhou Taizhou Airport. It has multiple terminals in the urban area. To go to the airport, you can go to the terminal and catch a free bus, leaving every hour. We chose the nearest Yangzhou West Terminal, located at No. 252 Weiyang Road, on the south side of the border checkpoint.

The nine-day trip has come to an end. Looking back on the experience of these days, it was really worthwhile. The ancients said: Reading thousands of books is better than walking thousands of miles! In everyone's heart, there will be a feeling of an ancient town, flowing water to the south of the Yangtze River, and smoking cages to the people. Jiangnan is a place where dreams begin!
