[Travel chatter]
I don't know where I am, but I am deeply in love.
I always have special feelings for the ancient town in Jiangnan. She is like a slender girl, quiet and beautiful, and people can't reach her.
However, in the hearts of a thousand readers, there are a thousand Hamlets and countless ancient towns in Jiangnan. Which one attracts you the most?
I think everyone's answers are different.
During this trip to Suzhou, I encountered such an ancient town. Although it did not amaze the time, it was gentle enough to make me nostalgic.
Whether it is the colorful alleys, the culturally full Liu Yazi Memorial Hall, the art-infused Liuyue Museum, or the warm Pear Blossom Jianguo Hotel, every place conveys different sensory enjoyment to me.
It has never defined beauty, but it has left countless marks on beauty in my heart. In my heart, in my dream, in my life, let us start this journey of time together.

Day1: Dongshengtang-Tin Ware Museum (experience tin-making)-Ancient Town Exhibition Center-Liu Yazi Memorial Hall-Night Tour Lili
1. Dongshengtang
Dream of returning to the Jiangnan water town, and love Lili in Suzhou. The first stop in Lili, we walked into Dongshengtang, a place where "treasures are displayed". This is a unique custom of Lili. It is similar to today's World Expo. Every Mid-Autumn Festival, the famous families in the town will sacrifice their treasures and enjoy them by both refined and popular customs.
Walking into the Dongshengtang Hall, a bronze statue came into view. This was Zhao Kuangyin's descendant, Zhao Yulao, who once served as the prefect of Lin 'an. He lived in seclusion in Lili and was deeply loved by the people.
The bronze statue gradually mottled under the baptism of history, but Lao Zhao's spirit is like a green plant on the side, everlasting forever. There are many old objects placed in the hall, telling the story of a century.
Among them, the one that caught my eye most was this barbell-like stone. It is said that these were the treasures used by ordinary people to exercise in the old days. Now they are gradually withdrawing from the historical stage, but the common people's concept of pursuing a healthy life is the same.
2. China Tin Museum
I believe everyone is familiar with tin foil ironing, so how much do you know about "tin"? As early as before coming to Lili, my impression of tin remained in middle school chemistry textbooks. However, during this trip to Lili, I realized the true value of this "tin" world treasure by checking in to the Chinese Tin Ware Museum.
On the central street of Lili Ancient Town, there is such a well-preserved Ming and Qing Dynasty building. It was originally a Mao House, but now under the renovation of the architect, it has been completely new and has become the Chinese Tin Ware Museum. It is simple and elegant, revealing a strong artistic atmosphere.
There are more than 1000 sets of tin cultural relics in the museum. Whether it is food utensils, tea sets, wine utensils, or boudoir tin products, you can feast your eyes here.
Strolling through it is like walking into an art exhibition, which makes people dizzying. It is hard to imagine that the originally simple raw materials can become so exquisite under the careful carving of the craftsmen, which is really hard to put down.
What is indispensable when we come here is to experience the joy of tin-making. Under the leadership of the master, we gradually successfully made the chassis of tin-ware. The seemingly simple beating is actually full of various skills. If you are not careful, the chassis will be tilted.
In addition, I also experienced polishing, which subverted my traditional concept. It turned out that polishing required using plants to soak in water to rub the surface into a layer of luster. Any process required calm and calm, which was very challenging.
3. Ancient Town Exhibition Center
Any excellent company has a corporate vision, and any ancient town with ideals will never be absent from planning. On the third stop of the journey, we arrived at the Lili Ancient Town Exhibition Center. This is a Ming and Qing building with blue bricks and black tiles. The carvings at the entrance are extremely beautiful and make people's eyes stare.
Here, I reviewed Lili's history and saw the present and future of history. Unique blueprints were displayed in front of me, and these are by no means talk on paper. Today's Lili ancient town is moving forward passionately in this beautiful blueprint and constantly moving towards a better future. The exhibition center is much bigger than I imagined. A small gatehouse takes you through ancient and modern times, encounter Lili in the historical rings, and love Lili in the blueprint for the future.
4. Liu Yazi Memorial Hall
As we all know, Nanshe culture is a characteristic business card of Lili Ancient Town. When mentioning Nanshe culture, you have to mention Liu Yazi. As an important founder of Nanshe, Liu Yazi has left many precious cultural heritage to the world and is a patriotic poet who cares about the country and the people.
When you come to Lili Ancient Town, it is indispensable to visit Liu Yazi Memorial Hall and feel Mr. Liu's taste in life and patriotic feelings. When I first met the Liu Yazi Memorial Hall, I was impressed by its majestic momentum. Under the blue sky and white clouds, three brick gate towers stood quietly, solemn and elegant, making people awe-inspiring. The memorial hall contains a large number of collections about Liu Yazi's life and Nanshe culture. It has great cultural connotations and is worth tasting carefully.
5. Tour Lili at night
In the blink of an eye, the sky was getting late, and Lili looked particularly moving under the night. Warm lights lit up the ancient town, and every household hung up red lanterns, giving a strong atmosphere of life.
At this time, the sky was not completely dark yet. The dark blue sky was integrated with the river water. The lights on both sides of the river illuminated the ancient trees, creating a unique beauty.
The breeze blows, and the shadows of the trees move on the river. There is a kind of meaning that "the thin shadow slopes across the river, the water is clear and shallow, and the dark fragrance floats in the moon and dusk", and infinite poetry comes to my heart.
Walking slowly along the path, feeling the temperature brought by every bluestone slab, those secrets that they dare not tell in broad daylight are all whispering in secret at this moment,
Everything seemed particularly quiet and beautiful. All the hard work of a day was washed away at this moment, leaving only a slight feeling of nostalgia.
Day2: Lanqiaodang Park-Shibei Village Rice Fields-Xu Beihong Art Museum (Experience Drawing Horse)-Experience Making Cable Boat Cakes-Zhougong Fu Temple
6. Lanqiaodang Park
Speaking of the eight scenic spots in Lili, the first to bear the brunt is the residual snow on Lanqiao. Its location is Lili Lanqiaodang Park, a good place for chatting.
Unfortunately, the cold winter has not yet arrived, and I can't see the sad beauty of the snow on the bridge. However, in this thick late autumn, it is also a different scene. Under the rendering of autumn, Lanqiaodang Park is sunny and full of vitality. The ancient stone bridge is hung high to carry tourists. Under the sunshine, the stone bridge turns bluish-gray, showing its historical heritage.
Walking to the lake, the reeds around them were scattered, some of which had withered and withered, and some still retained the last bit of stubbornness, glowing with a faint blue color, creating an eclectic beauty.
The pine trees on the side stand tall, retaining the last touch of color for this gorgeous autumn day. The autumn wind is blowing, feel the warm sunshine pouring on your face, stop and stop all the way, and your mood instantly becomes relaxed.
7. Shibei Village
"Who knew that every grain of food on the plate was hard?" I believe everyone is familiar with this catchy poem. Since I was a child, I have infinite respect for my peasant uncle. They sow hope with their hard hands and provide food and clothing for everyone.
In the golden autumn of November, the harvest season, we came to Shibei Village, a paradise hidden in Lili. Slowly move forward along the country road and go straight to the rice fields. Looking from a distance, the golden rice fields are slowly unfolding in front of me like oil paintings. The plump ears of rice bend with a smile and wave to the people enthusiastically, making people feel more happy. The joy of a bumper harvest.
Jiangnan is a land of fish and rice, and farming has almost become a common occurrence in rural areas. However, as a wanderer far away from his hometown, his memory of the rice fields seems to be still in his childhood. Now that I see this large golden field again, it is shocking.
The pastoral scenery along the way is beautiful. If you look carefully, you will see that every ear of rice is extremely full and contains the sweat of the peasant uncle. When I saw the aerial picture, I was even more amazed by the infinite scenery. The golden rice field is like a pearl inlaid on the river bank, surrounded by green trees, and nourished by the gurgling water, like a beautiful picture, making people intoxicated.
8. Xu Beihong Art Museum
The ancients said: friendship between gentlemen is as light as water. However, there is also a passion that is hard to find. Everyone is no stranger to Xu Beihong. This well-known master has left countless exquisite works to the world and is still praised.
It is hard to imagine that in such a small town in Suzhou, there is a Xu Beihong Art Museum hidden away, avoiding the busy metropolis and far away from the bustling city center. Why did you choose such a niche place?
In fact, this starts with the friendship between Xu Beihong and Liu Yazi. The two had a very good relationship in their lives. Now that Xu Beihong's Art Museum is opened opposite the Liu Yazi Memorial Hall, it can be regarded as a renewed relationship. The art museum is designed with wood, and the black lacquer wooden doors are inlaid with glass. They are simple but exquisite, which instantly improves the style of the art museum.
There are many authentic works by Xu Beihong on display in the museum, and each work is lifelike, demonstrating Master Xu Beihong's pure skills. As we all know, Xu Beihong is good at painting horses. When he comes here, he naturally has the fun of painting horses.
The enthusiastic curator had already prepared the tools. In order to allow us to successfully complete the work, he also drew the outline on the fan in advance. In this way, we only need to follow the instructions and complete a picture even without any skills in painting. Decent work.
9. Yingxiang Cultural Tourism
I don't know if you have heard of the talk of cable boats, but I believe that every son born in the Jiangnan water town will have heard of it a little. Water is the soul of Jiangnan, and ships are water's most loyal companions.
A cable boat is to dock a ship on the shore, which is also called "mooring a ship" in the ancient language. If you want to successfully dock a ship firmly, you naturally need cable boat stones. In Lili, there is a beautiful scenery composed of cable boat stones. Line, these cable boat stones are strange and use various techniques such as embossed. Some look like colored silk on the waist, some look like elephant trunk rhinoceros, all of which fully explain Lili's ingenuity.
In order to retain this precious culture, the Lili family inherits the custom of making cable boat cakes. Under the influence of molds, these cakes are made into the appearance of cable boat stones, which are vivid and interesting, and can also be a feast for the feast.
During this trip to Lili, we came to Yingxiang Cultural Tourism and experienced the fun of making cable boat cakes. Yellow pumpkin flour and purple sweet potato flour look like the plasticine we played with when we were a child. Then they are pressed tightly in the mold to smooth out the excess flour on the surface and remove it, and finally form vivid cable boat cakes. Some are in the shape of carp, and some are painted with flowers and birds, which makes people love it. Under the cooking of a large pot, the cable boat cakes are bright in color, soft and glutinous in taste, and extremely delicious.
10. Zhou Palace Fu Temple
In Miaoqiao Lane in Lili Ancient Town, there is such a large family, which takes tranquility in the bustle and shines brightly in the youth. It is the Zhou Palace Fu Temple, a special temple built by Emperor Qianlong personally ordered to commemorate Zhou Yuanli, Minister of Industry. The Fu Temple of the Zhou Palace was divided into six entrances, which was undoubtedly a large house at the time.
Arriving at the Zhou Palace Fu Temple, what came into view was a huge courtyard. The plaque was hung high at the gate. The four words "Zhou Palace Fu Temple" were shining brightly, which looked extremely solemn against the retro lanterns. Entering through the door, I was greeted by a small and exquisite imperial stele pavilion, in which stood an imperial stele personally given by the emperor. I worked hard and paid tribute to my death, expressing Emperor Qianlong's infinite appreciation and remembrance of Zhou Yuanli.
The ancestral hall is very large in area. Walking through it, you can feel the depth of history. It reproduces Zhou Yuanli's life. Every old object tells us about Zhou Yuanli's immortal glory.
Day3: Liuyue Museum
11. Liuyue Museum
Time flew by, and in the blink of an eye, it was the last stop in Lili. My tired body began to disobey, but I was awakened again by the Liuyue Museum with a strong artistic atmosphere. I couldn't remember how many times I came to the museum. I originally thought it would be a stereotyped display, but it made me feel refreshed and lingering.
The Liuyue Museum opened in April last year. The exhibition hall covers an area of more than 13,000 square meters and has a collection of 30,000 pieces. Of course, this is only a small part. There are tens of thousands of pieces in the warehouse, which have been preserved for a long time. The museum collects old objects from all over the country, and each piece retains a unique time mark, making it the largest folk art museum.
It is worth mentioning that the collector of these old objects turned out to be an American named Du Weiming. It is said that he came to China more than 20 years ago, but he was deeply fascinated by Chinese culture and became uncontrollable ever since. For more than 20 years, he has traveled all over China and found many "treasures". Some were picked up accidentally, and some were bought at a high price. No matter which method he obtained them, he regarded them as treasures. Day after day, he has collected nearly 100,000 old objects. Now that he displays them, it is amazing to the world.
The collection in the museum is diverse, from antique wood carvings, to poems and paintings with pen and ink, to wedding customs objects, exquisite statues, old plaques, etc. As long as you can think of, you can feast your eyes here. The exquisite statuettes are lifelike and have different expressions, making people dazzled. I have always had no resistance to this kind of small thing that extremely tests craftsmanship. Now that I see it, I really can't put it down.
What surprised me even more was that there were ancient carved beds hidden here. Under the baptism of history, these carvings are still glorious and exquisite. The perfect combination of art and ingenuity makes people sigh at the craftsmanship of the craftsmen. The exhibition hall is very large and lingering in it, all ancient memories are awakened for a while, and you can experience the vicissitudes of a century in art.
[Lili on the tip of the tongue]
1. Tianxihui Restaurant
Tianxihui Restaurant is located on Lili New Street. It is a local snack bar. It contains all Lili's specialty snacks. All the food is made through Lili's most authentic cooking methods, allowing you to truly encounter Lili's taste. The design of the restaurant is very contemporary, full of fireworks, and feels like traveling through.
The signature feature here is oily square meat. After a series of oily treatments, the originally greasy pork belly becomes fat but not greasy. It is delicious and rich, and melts immediately in the mouth. The dried bamboo shoots on the bottom layer are chewy, and the fragrance of the dried bamboo shoots collide with the delicacy of the square meat, which not only relieves the greasy, but also continuously enriches your taste buds experience.
The sausage set is also irresistible. The pig's large intestine, which was originally difficult to swallow, has been processed through successive processes to show a spiral shape. It somehow feels a little cute. Under the combination of dips, it is delicious and is an authentic flavor that cannot be missed. The taro rounds made my eyes shine. They are completely different from the cooking methods I have tried before. The taro here is actually mixed with shepherd's purse. They look attractive in color and have a fragrant taste. The soft glutinous taro rounds are crushed and filled in the mouth, making people feel satisfied.
2. Xinfating Lichuan Courtyard
Only love and food cannot be let down. When you come to Lili Ancient Town, in addition to appreciating its poetry, it is indispensable to taste the food here. Xinfating Lili Chuan Courtyard, a restaurant that sounds very literary and artistic. The overall restaurant feels antique, and the taste is equally raving. Macrobrachium rosenbergii in golden soup with garlic is the signature here. Under the extraction of mashed garlic, the Macrobrachium rosenbergii is extremely delicious and leaves people's appetite unfinished.
The fish is a dish that has never been seen before. The wild small fish are fried in an oil pan and have a crispy taste that makes people unable to stop eating. The experience of sausage insertion made me feel refreshed. As someone who dares not eat animal viscera, this time the sausage insertion did not make it difficult for me to swallow. On the contrary, I felt that it was a different taste and broke the taste buds for a new experience. It was worth everyone to try.
The dried bamboo shoots here are one of my favorite dishes. The dried bamboo shoots are tender and smooth, and the taste is delicate and slightly sweet. They have endless aftertaste in the mouth. The original bitterness of the dried bamboo shoots has been completely removed, leaving only the fragrance. After chewing it carefully, it has a natural atmosphere, is healthy and nutritious, and is deeply popular.
3. Mulan Hotel
Mulan Hotel is very close to the Liu Yazi Memorial Hall. When I first heard of its name, I thought it had an unspeakable connection with Hua Mulan. In fact, it was named "Mulan" because most of the people serving in the store were women. It is said that this small shop has been operating in Lili Ancient Town for more than 60 years. It can be regarded as the gold medal time-honored hotel in Lili Ancient Town, witnessing Lili's development and prosperity. As a sixty-year-old store, the most important thing is to establish reputation. Mulan Hotel has no reservations about this and is well received by local people.
The steamed white water fish here is a specialty sign. The white water fish, which seems to be light and tasteless, actually tastes delicious, and the fishy smell is removed just right, leaving only the sweetness of the fish itself. Dip it in the soup and taste it carefully, giving people endless aftertaste.
Steamed crab is also a surprise. Every dish here is relatively light in color and seems not attractive enough, but the taste is unique and unexpected.
For example, judging from the presentation and color of this oil tofu wrapped meat, it is not enough to arouse appetite, but after the first taste, it cannot stop. This is probably the most important thing for the old store. It abandons flashy and specializes in taste and quality.
[About Accommodation]
When traveling, the place where you can most feel the temperature of a city is a hotel. A good hotel always makes people feel at home. On the contrary, both body and soul are wandering. During this trip to Lili, I met Lili Lihua Jianguo Hotel and encountered different Jiangnan tenderness.
When I first heard its name, I had a Jiangnan charm of "pear flowers with rain". After arriving, it made me feel refreshed. A gray and white building rose from the ground, with its sharp outlines outlining a strong sense of high-level and a modern atmosphere. However, when you really walked into the room, it had a different charm.
The room is based on white and embellished with wood-colored furniture, creating a strong atmosphere of home. The large bed is set against a shallow landscape painting, which has an indescribable hazy feeling, which makes people feel more warm.
The big bed is as white as clean, and the retro blue pillow echoes the background wall. It may seem inadvertent, but in fact it interprets the hotel's temperature without doubt. The facilities in the room are all available, and the design in the bathroom is deeply in my heart. The goose-yellow marble tiles, retro art wall lights, artistic hanging paintings, and eye-catching green plants. Every display is just right, making people feel the warmth of the hotel.
Of course, the most important thing to stay in a hotel is health and safety. Lihua Jianguo Hotel has also done this to the extreme. Even the dead corners of the bathroom are spotless.
