Mountains are not high, but immortals are famous. The water is not deep, but if there is a dragon, it will be spiritual. Several mountains in Suzhou are not tall, but they are famous. Lingyan Mountain is the most famous one. Lingyan Mountain has been known in ancient times as "Lingyan is the most beautiful one in the south of the Yangtze River" and "Lingyan is the most beautiful one in the south of the Yangtze River". There is a Lingyan Temple on the mountain, and there is an old monk Yinguang in the temple. Nowadays, the incense in Lingyan Temple is still strong, and many citizens go there every festival.

Lingyan Mountain Temple

Lingyan Temple once hit the circle of friends because the one-yuan ticket price had not increased for decades. Lingyan Mountain, as the starting point of the Lingbai Line of Suzhou's hiking route, is a popular place for outdoor mountaineering on weekends in Suzhou.

Since ancient times, celebrities have climbed Lingyan Mountain to reminisce about the past in all dynasties, such as Emperor Jianwen of the Liang Dynasty in the Southern Dynasty, poets Wei Yingwu, Bai Juyi, Liu Yuxi, Li Shangyin, etc. of the Tang Dynasty, Fan Zhongyan of the Song Dynasty, Wen Zhengming, Tang Yin, Gao Qi, etc. of the Ming Dynasty, and Emperor Kangxi and Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty.

Bai Juyi visited Lingyan Mountain Temple and once wrote a poem: High in the white moon, high in the green forest, guests go and monks return alone late at night. The meat and blood screen can be used to treat the wine, and the song bell is released only the piano is left. There is no worldly thing that serves as the human eye, but the sound of the spring washes my heart. My favorite Xiaoting looks east, and Taihu Lake is smoky and green. I once again gave birth to a leisurely yearning. It was you who gave me a feeling of tranquility. In the season when I loved it so deeply, I saw Jiangnan in September. Folk singer Xu Wei also came to Lingyan and wrote a very spiritual song.

Lingyan Mountain Scenic Area is now very large, and Lingyan Mountain Temple is located at the south gate of Lingyan Mountain Scenic Area. You can see the gate of Lingyan Mountain Temple through a section of commercial street (mostly incense shops that are convenient for burning incense).

Through the gate, there is the winding royal road. Because Emperor Kangxi and Emperor Qianlong had climbed it many times, all the roads leading up the mountain are called royal roads. From the gate, there are two parallel mountaineering roads, one that has been over time. The old road with green bricks will be slippery on rainy days, and the other is a newly built staircase.

There is a big road, and we move forward together. When we come back, we will look at each other with a different look. Walking up the steps of the royal mountain climbing road, we will encounter a Jilu Pavilion. The nickname originated from the famous monk of the generation of the abbot of Lingyan Mountain, Master Yin Guang is called Jilu.

Stone bells are arranged on both sides of the stone steps, and you can still see some autumn colors.

Then there is the Yingxiao Pavilion. It is said that it was built in the Song Dynasty, where Shifu Dongpo once smiled and welcomed Shi friends.

The winding up is a steep stone step, with lush green bamboo forests on both sides. Climb all the way to the Luohong Pavilion. There is an old saying,"The Elephant King looks back on the falling flowers and red", because Lingyan Mountain was once called Xiangshan, this is a good place to watch the sunset.

Luohong Pavilion turns upward about 300 steps to the left. It is called the "Hundred Steps". It is a section of the royal road built by Emperor Qianlong when he climbed Lingyan. The mountain is steep.

There is a square brick platform next to the road, which was the mantle tower of Zhiji, a monk who opened Lingyan Mountain in the Liang Dynasty.

There is a huge stone in the south of the tower, shaped like a turtle, facing Taihu Lake with its head raised, so there is a saying that "the turtle looks at Taihu Lake". The back of the stone is engraved with the words "Hope Buddha Come", and there are footprints on the stone. It is said that Xi Shi often stood on this stone and looked at his hometown.

In addition to stone turtles, there are many strange stones on Lingyan Mountain, such as Ganoderma lucidum stone, stone horse, stone drum, Drunken monk stone, Wangyue Terrace, Niumian stone, Chatou stone, Fori Rock, and stone towers. Lingyan Temple is named after the Lingyan Strange Stone and has the saying of "Eighteen Strange Stones".

Lingyan Mountain is right at Xukou, and the sun sets to the southwest look at Taihu Lake. The two islands are floating like snails, and there are no sails or birds left. How can you talk about the past? If you don't see an expert, you can try it. Be careful not to be afraid of the waves in front of you, because most of the strange things are blurred. Standing at the stone turtle, you can overlook the city view of Suzhou and have a wide view. Because climbing all the way makes you sweat, it makes you feel comfortable at this moment.

I am happy to follow Xie Gong's clogs and return to Wu Wangtai; I admire the views of the lakes and mountains, and feel the rise and fall of the trees. The Buddhist scriptures are broken and continued, and the benevolent birds are scattered and come back; the willow trees see the spring color, and the painting scene opens up in the clouds. Climbing to the top of the mountain, Lingyan Mountain Temple comes into view.

Viewed from the sky, the majestic Lingyan Mountain Temple stands on the side of the cliff on the top of the mountain, surrounded by the prosperous Suzhou City.

Because of the insistence of the elders of Lingyan Mountain Temple, Lingyan Temple still maintains a 1 yuan ticket. Due to the epidemic, you need to make an appointment in advance to measure your body temperature before visiting.

Entering from the gate of Lingyan Mountain Temple is the Maitreya Pavilion, also known as the Hall of the Heavenly King, where the crown Maitreya is enshrined in the center. Later, Wei Tuo was sitting on the statue with a pestle, which was different from the standing statue of Wei Tuo in other temples. On both sides are painted statues of the four great kings, both 4.5 meters high.

Outside the Tianwang Hall is a stone bridge that spans the Jieqing Pool. The bridge is surrounded by red silk ribbons for praying. It is the Daxiong Hall.

On the left side of the entrance is the Jialan Hall, and the corridor in front of the door is full of praying signs.

This is a good place to take photos and take pictures. Whether it is humanities or check-in, it is very beautiful.

The Daxiong Hall is 25 meters high and 20 meters wide. It was built in 1934. Sakyamuni Buddha is enshrined in the center, which is 6 meters tall. Two disciples of Kasyapa and Ananda stand beside him. This group of statues are all carved from camphor wood and have a dignified and kind look.

Turn right and you will find the Lingyan Temple Pagoda, the oldest in Lingyan Mountain Temple. Visitors of good men and women follow the signs of the guide to the tower, circle the tower three times clockwise and worship Guanyin.

The Lingyan Temple Tower was built in the Liang Dynasty and has experienced many vicissitudes. It is a seven-story, eight-sided, brick-and-wood structure, and is also the symbol of Lingyan Mountain. There are many stone statues of Guanyin placed in the Buddhist niche in the Taki.

Lingyan Mountain Peak Garden Tea Room

Continue to climb upwards through the Lingyan Mountain Temple, and there is a mountaintop garden.

The King's Well of Wu is round and is also a legacy well of the Wu Palace. It was once used for Xi Shi to shine. Zhiji Well is octagonal, so it is named because it was dug by monk Zhiji in the Liang Dynasty. Spring water in the well is sweet, and tea is very good. There is a rockery built in the north of the well and a "Longevity Pavilion" on it, which is said to be the dressing place for Xi Shi.

There is a mountaintop garden tearoom on top of a rockery in the Hilltop Garden. Sitting in the tearoom, you can overlook the panoramic view of the entire Lingyan Temple. The tearoom is surrounded by lush green plants, which not only reminds people of Liu Yuxi's "Inscription of a Shame Room", but it is a Shame Room, but I am virtuous., a cup of green tea, a meditation heart.

The tatami-style teahouse is very suitable for a small gathering in summer.

Lingyan Mountain Temple is very famous for its vegetarian noodles. You can eat a bowl of vegetarian noodles at noon because there are many people who come here for hiking on weekends. At meal time, the vegetarian noodle restaurant is also crowded.

Lingyan Market

There is a Lingyan Market in the mountaintop garden of Lingyan Mountain Temple. It is a good place to visit the market when taking a nap in the mountains.

Legend has it that Xi Shi rowed here to pick lotus flowers. To the west of the pool there is a stone city, which is the wall at the top of the mountain. It is said that it was built by King Helu of Wu and made of stone to form an ice pattern. Playing the Moon Pond was once used for Xi Shi to play with the moon.

Market Mountain has some lovely trinkets that you can taste from all over the country.

There is a delicacy from the far northeast-rice cake. It is made by an old master on site. It tastes a bit like glutinous rice cake, soft and glutinous, and is a bit similar to the taste of Suzhou.

After visiting the market, the day's trip to Lingyan Mountain ended happily. Thank you to your friends for your appreciation!
