October 6 to 7, 2015. My wife went to work on October 4th and rested on the 5th. We entered the "second half" of the National Day self-driving tour on the 6th and 7th (the first half refers to the four-day self-driving tour of Xiangshan, Ningbo from September 30 to October 3, 2015). The two days were limited, and we didn't want the pace to be particularly fast, so we went to Suzhou nearby for a self-driving tour, covering a total of 241 kilometers. "There is heaven above, and Suzhou and Hangzhou below." Suzhou is more than 100 kilometers away from Shanghai and is one of the most familiar tourist cities for Shanghai people. I have traveled to Suzhou many times a day on a self-driving tour in the past few years, and I have only been to Suzhou five times last year. In my impression, it seems like 20 years ago that I went to Suzhou for tourist purposes. In fact, I have visited Suzhou N times, and there are still many attractions to see but have never been to. The Wufeng Garden I visited this time is the first time I visited the famous Suzhou classical garden that I have admired for many years. Xietang Old Street is a newly opened attraction in Suzhou in recent years. Some neighborhoods just opened on October 1, 2015. Although October 6th and 7th are National Day holidays, there are significantly fewer tourists than October 1st to 5th, and travel comfort is relatively good. This time, the Home Inn we stayed at will launch some rooms with a 40% discount on peak shifting starting from October 6. I booked in advance and got a discount. If I booked on the same day, the room rate would be more than 120 yuan more. In addition, as most people were worried about highway traffic jams and returned to the city early, we drove back to Shanghai smoothly on the afternoon of the 7th. Even the Jiangqiao Toll Station of the Shanghai-Nanjing Expressway, a well-known congested spot, did not see a queue.

October 6, 2015 (Suzhou weather: cloudy, 20 to 23 degrees)

At 11:15, we set off from our home in Pudong, Shanghai.

At 12:02, I arrived at Jiangqiao Toll Station of Shanghai-Nanjing Expressway and traveled a total of 29 kilometers.

At 12:12, I arrived at Anting Toll Station on Shanghai-Nanjing Expressway and traveled a total of 48 kilometers.

At 12:38, I arrived at the Yangcheng Lake Service Area of Shanghai-Nanjing Expressway to rest and drove a total of 86 kilometers.

At 12:53, I arrived at the Suzhou Toll Station of Shanghai-Nanjing Expressway and traveled a total of 100 kilometers.

There was no traffic jam on the expressway, but after entering Suzhou, there was a traffic jam on Baita Road for more than half an hour.

First, go to Zhu Hongxing in Xizhong City to eat noodles.

A bowl of freshly fried shredded eel noodles with toppings is 15 yuan, which is affordable. Zhu Hongxing's noodles are particularly delicious. The protagonist in Lu Wenfu's novel "The Gourmet" usually eats noodles, but not Zhu Hongxing's noodles. When I came to Suzhou, I came here many times just to taste Zhu Hongxing noodles. There are many Zhu Hongxing stores in Suzhou, near Guanqian Street and on Qimen Road next to Humble Administrator's Garden. In contrast, Zhu Hongxing shredded eel noodles in Xizhong City have the lowest price.

Changmen at the west end of Xizhong City.

Panmen Scenic Area, admission is 40 yuan. Ruiguang Tower, the third batch of national key cultural relics protection units announced by the State Council on January 13, 1988, is an ancient building category, dating from the Northern Song Dynasty. Ruiguang Tower is located in Panmen Scenic Area, which also houses two national key cultural relics protection units.

Entrance ticket to the tower is 6 yuan.

Panmen, the sixth batch of national key cultural relics protection units announced by the State Council on May 25, 2006, is in the category of ancient buildings and the era is Yuan Dynasty.

Stayed at Home Inn Suzhou Humble Administrator's Garden that night, and the silver member standard twin room was 143 yuan/night. This store is located in an alley 100 meters away from the east side of Lion Forest, only a river away from Pingjiang Road. It is very quiet and the parking lot is quite large. A water purifier is installed in the guest room.

The picture below shows Yuanlin Road. There are not many passers-by on the streets in downtown Suzhou at night.

Turn south from Yuanlin Road and turn into Baita Road. There are many restaurants on the street.

The mute fried pan on Lindun Road is well-known in Suzhou and feels better than the Xiao Yang fried pan in Shanghai. The fly in the ointment is that they start at 8 pieces per customer, unlike Shanghai's Shengjian, which usually sells at 4 pieces per customer. Some diners can only throw away a few pieces if they can't finish them.

Xuanmiao Temple.

I have been to Pingjiang Road many times, but this is the first time I have photographed night scenes.

As of that night, a total of 120 kilometers had been driven.

October 7, 2015 (Suzhou weather: cloudy with showers, 19 to 23 degrees)

Home Inn Suzhou Humble Administrator's Garden Branch.

Hotel parking lot. Among the five small cars on the left, the one in the middle is my "Xiao Ai".

Not far from the hotel, you will find the famous Humble Administrator's Garden and Lion Grove. These have been visited many times before, and the tickets are too expensive. The admission to Humble Administrator's Garden is 90 yuan. No revisiting is scheduled this time. The surrounding rivers in this area fully show the scenery of Gusu Water Town.

The Suzhou Museum next to Humble Administrator's Garden is free to visit, and there are many tourists waiting in line at the entrance. Part of the Suzhou Museum is the royal palace of the Taiping Rebellion, the royal palace of Li Xiucheng, the loyal king of the Taiping Rebellion. In 1961, it was announced by the State Council as one of the first batch of national key cultural relics protection units.

Baoen Temple Tower, the sixth batch of national key cultural relics protection units announced by the State Council on May 25, 2006, is an ancient building, dating from the Song to the Qing Dynasty. This is a fee-paying attraction, and the entrance fee is 25 yuan. For some unknown reason, it is closed for the time being, but tourists can enter for free through the side door. Unfortunately, I couldn't climb the tower.

There are many rivers in Suzhou City, which constitute beautiful scenery.

Taibo Temple can be visited for free.

Wufeng Garden is open to the public for free.

In the park stand five Taihu Lake stone peaks, two feet high, are very wrinkled, thin and exquisite. They stand side by side among the high tombs and look like Lao Zhang. They are also known as Wulao Peaks. They are "Zhangren Peak","Guanyin Peak","Sanlao Peak","Qingyun Peak" and "Qingyun Peak".

In Xizhong City, in the distance is Changmen.

Street scene in Suzhou. The underpants style building in the distance is a landmark building on Jinji Lake.

Xietang Old Street, located in Suzhou Industrial Park, is claimed to be the third famous historical and cultural street after Shantang Street and Pingjiang Road.

At 15:49, we arrived at the Suzhou Industrial Park Toll Station of Shanghai-Nanjing Expressway and drove a total of 155 kilometers.

At 16:09, I arrived at Huaqiao Toll Station of Shanghai-Nanjing Expressway and traveled a total of 173 kilometers.

The Shanghai-Nanjing Expressway back to Shanghai is smooth all the way.

At 16:25, I arrived at Jiangqiao Toll Station of Shanghai-Nanjing Expressway and traveled a total of 205 kilometers.

At 17:05, I returned to my home in Pudong, Shanghai, covering a total of 241 kilometers.
