The ancient town of Luxu is as old as my grandma who can no longer straighten up.
Under the shade of a tree at the bridge, the grandma was enjoying the cool, shaking the cattail fan in her hand again and again.
The old rattan chair underneath him creaked and he started to laugh.
"That's what my grandma said when I was a child."
How old is Luxu Ancient Town?
At the end of the Spring and Autumn Period, Wu and Yue fought. This was the border.
The Guanyin Bridge that you can see as soon as you enter the ancient town dates back to the Southern Song Dynasty.
It was rebuilt during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, and it was almost 300 years in a flash.
On both sides of the Shihe River, the branches and leaves of the two trees are connected, like camphor trees covered in flowers on the river. When you snap your fingers, each tree is hundreds of years old.
The ancient town of Luxu is very dilapidated, but it is a place where nostalgia can be evoked everywhere
A straight city river runs through the town, and both sides look like architectural museums.
Buildings built in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the Republic of China, the 1950s, and the 1970s, 1970s, and 1970s, 1970s, and 1970s, 1970s, 197
In addition, there are also small houses that have been renovated in the past two years, with newly opened aluminum alloy windows against the old shed covered with tiles and pine trees.
The Roman-style balcony looks at the carved brick gatehouse, the fern patio, and the broken carved window lattice in the old house.
The old man living in the old house put an old rattan chair against the wall door, leisurely riding the cool wind, and muttered to himself,"It's still more pleasant to live in a new house with copper tinsel."
But he casually said it without any trace of envy in his eyes.
The young couple in Xinyuan stood on the balcony chatting.
The man said,"I told Mom that the old house was pushed down and started again. I said that the old house was still down-to-earth and refused to agree to it."
The woman was chewing on melon seeds and added,"Yiyi's thoughts are quite good. The air conditioner makes her bones hurt, but it's still the cool wind from Xiao Chenguang."
The man nodded."It works."
Born in Jiangnan, it is a pity to have a childhood without alleys.
How many alleys are there in Luxu Ancient Town? Outsiders can't count them.
The old people living here should also think about it for a while and tell you with their fingers one by one according to the allusions.
"There is a Huntang (bathhouse) in the old village, called Huntang Lane; the one with seven and eight corners is called Jiuqu Lane; Nanhuangjia Lane is occupied by the family of 'Huangsheng Luzhai' who used to make cakes; in Shipai, there was a Shipai Lane at the entrance of the alley in the early years..."
There are very few alleys in the ancient town that are straight and straight. They dig in one head, winding in the nine and eighteen corners, and the timid people dare not move forward.
You can't figure out the direction in the alley. When you come out of the alley, it may be less than a hundred meters away from the entrance of the alley where you came in, but you feel confused as to where you are.
Some alleys will pass through other people's main rooms. Children are naughty and will pass through them in groups, laughing and disturbing the sleeping owner in the back room.
The man shouted,"Little coffin!"
The children quickly covered their mouths, winked at each other, and sneaked out.
When he got outside, he became arrogant again, deliberately raised his voice, called the family's nickname, and laughed and ran away again.
The game of "passing through the pass" in the alleys is a childhood that generations of people who were born and raised here enjoy.
Adults at home naturally won't worry about children getting lost. No matter how you walk in the alleys of the ancient town, there is always one end facing the street.
Luxu Ancient Town was once rich! When old people talk about the glory of their ancestors, they will definitely talk about the two cross-street buildings that have been preserved to this day.
Since the Song Dynasty, Luxu has become a prosperous market market town. The Song, Yuan and Ming dynasties have established the Fenhu Inspection Department Yamen, and reached its peak during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty.
The entrances to shops and houses in the ancient town are all built in the direction of the city river. Originally, in order to facilitate trading on rainy days, merchants built corridors between the gates and the river bank to provide people with shelter from the rain.
Later, merchants whose business grew larger simply converted the corridor into two-story buildings. People lived upstairs or piled debris, and roads were set aside downstairs for people to walk on, thus forming a cross-street building.
After years of wind, frost, war and natural disasters, the ancient town of Luxu now only has two street-crossing buildings, Xu's and Shen's.
On one side of the river, there is still a river quay where ships were parked and transported goods in previous years, and the other side is still doing business.
Needles and needles, hardware tools, and groceries from north and south, things that cannot be bought in supermarkets in the city, can still be found here.
I never went up to the second floor of the street crossing building here to see the scenery, but it brought back some memories of my youth.
At that time, there was also a street building in the small town where I lived.
The child was naughty and bullied the mute man who lived downstairs who was a widow and climbed upstairs from his house without saying hello.
Upstairs are nothing more than unwanted items, props temporarily stored by the singing troupe during the New Year's Festival, which is cramped and unable to move around.
At an age when he has just begun to fall in love but does not know how to express himself, he always stands on the street building, opens the window, and waits for the girl he likes to pass by, making exaggerated and weird noises.
The girl always ran past with her head down.
Later, at the classmate reunion, she still "remembered her revenge","At that time, you were so annoying that you even threw melon seeds at me!"
Suzhou's folk food is very strange, and most of it is hidden in the corners of alleys, alleys and streets.
Time has been wandering in the ancient town of Luxu for 2500 years. If you can't find one or two delicious food, it's really hard to explain.
I'm not good at eating, but a local friend warmly invited me that day,"There is a wonton that tastes particularly good. It's an Internet celebrity delicacy here."
I have never liked pasta, but I can't be too lonely.
The reason for eating food is,"You can put down everything, but you can't put down your chopsticks."
My reason is,"Let go of Tathagata and let go of you."
Friends who grew up in the ancient town don't talk about the delicious food in Luxu.
Pickled hearts, chicken soup with gluten, dried bamboo shoots and roasted pork, snack bars in the cross-street building area of Southeast Street, wontons, fried dough sticks, and fried buns.
We went to a wonton restaurant called "Big Guy".
Wontons are sold per unit. In the past, you could eat ten for eight yuan, but now it is one yuan each. There is an additional charge for pickled mustard, fried pork ribs, and poached eggs.
A friend said that he would come here to eat the wontons every week.
This wonton has thick skin, but the filling is satisfying. Adults usually need ten meals to be full.
Maybe I really don't have the foundation of a gourmand. I don't think it's anything special if I swallow it whole.
My friend was still chewing slowly, and I looked around in boredom.
The store maintains the decoration style of the 1950s and 1960s.
There are several long tables, a few benches, and ceiling fans are chirping overhead.
The old-fashioned TV was hung on the wall, playing the very contemporary "The Condor Heroes".
At night, we returned to the ancient town. The wonton shop is still open, and the old house has a faint yellow light from the doors and windows.
For no reason, I felt like I was home.
