Travelers on the journey always lament that there is too little time and always regret too much. Suzhou has been a famous city in the south of the Yangtze River since ancient times and has been called a paradise on earth since ancient times. If you only have one day's spare time and want to visit the essence of a famous city without leaving too many regrets, how should you choose a scenic spot? How should I plan my trip? Then please come with me for a day trip that saves time and effort. Although it is too hasty, you can also look up and see a glimpse of the scenery.
First stop: Lingering Garden. Take Bus No. 1 to Suzhou Railway Station directly.
The Lingering Garden is located at No. 338 Liuyuan Road, Changmen Gate, Suzhou. It is also known as China's Four Famous Gardens along with the Humble Administrator's Garden in Suzhou, the Summer Palace in Beijing, and the Summer Resort in Chengde. It is a Qing Dynasty style large classical private garden covering an area of 23300 square meters. garden. In 2001, the Lingering Garden, together with Humble Administrator's Garden and Tiger Hill, was expanded into a national 5A-level Suzhou Garden Tourism Scenic Area.
The Lingering Garden is divided into four parts: mountains and rivers, pastoral areas, mountains and forests, and courtyards, presenting four different scenery. There are many garden landscapes such as Wufeng Fairy Hall, Ancient Wood Jiake, Dongtian Yibi, Yuancuige, and Guanyun Pavilion.
Second stop: Xiyuan Temple.
When you get out of the Lingering Garden, you only need to head west 400 meters, which is the east gate of Xiyuan Temple, whose full name is Xiyuan Jiechuanglu Temple. Xiyuan Temple is called the most caring scenic spot in the country by travel friends. Xiyuan Temple was originally a listed 4A-level scenic spot, but in order to benefit the majority of believers and tourists, Xiyuan Temple applied to remove the 4A plaque and open it to believers and tourists for free.
Xiyuan Temple was founded between the Yuan Dynasty and the Yuan Dynasty (1264--1294). It was originally named Guiyuan Temple and has a history of 700 years. Most of the existing temples were built in the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China. They are the largest temple in Suzhou City. On the central axis from south to north, there are three-wide archway, mountain gate, Jingang Hall, free life pond, Daxiong Hall, and Sutra Tower. There is Guanyin Hall on the east side of Jingang Hall and Arhat Hall on the west side. There are also buildings in the temple such as Buddha Reading Hall, Fa Yun Hall, Guest Hall, Zhai Hall, Warehouse Hall, etc.
The most rare thing here is the four-hundred-year-old Feng Shui god turtle in the West Garden.
If you are lucky enough to see the four-hundred-year-old magical spotted turtle, you may have a good life. It doesn't matter if we didn't see it. We continued our journey, walked out of the walls of Xiyuan Temple, and admired the style of the mountain gate in the south. The gate of Xiyuan Temple is the outer gate of the temple. It consists of three doors side by side. The three doors symbolize the three gates of liberation called by Buddhism, emptiness, and non-will. They also contain the meaning of faith, understanding, action, wisdom, mercy, and convenience. Directly above the mountain gate is a plaque of "Jie Zhuang Lu Temple", and the couplets on both sides read: "There are two bridges on one river and a group of people climb the bank of Jue, and the three winds are prevalent for generations to strictly adhere to the pure precepts and Bodhi". It is the late Vice Chairman of the Buddhist Association of China and the legacy of contemporary famous calligrapher Liu Bingsen.
Third stop: Hanshan Temple and Fengqiao.
Crossing the gate of Xiyuan Temple, facing Fengqiao Road, take a tourist bus on Line 1, and you will arrive at the famous Hanshan Temple outside Gusu City in the Tang Dynasty in one stop.
When I had never met, had the bells of Hanshan Temple already sounded in my ears? When you meet me today, you must take a good look and feel it.
With Hanshan Temple, how can there be no Maple Bridge? Hanshan Temple and Maple Bridge have long been integrated and symbiotic because of the song "Maple Bridge Mooring at Night". They will never be separated and cannot be separated.
Maple Bridge is opposite Hanshan Temple, but they are two scenic spots. Remember to buy tickets separately. Hanshan Temple is 20 yuan, Fengqiao is 35 yuan.
A winding Maple Bridge spans both sides of the canal. In ancient times, Fengqiao was a busy canal terminal and a prosperous town.
But when Zhang Ji, a poet of the Tang Dynasty, came to this hot land. In the dead of night, endless loneliness came to his heart, expressing his long-lasting nostalgia: the moon was setting, the dark cries of the clouds were crying and the frost was all over the sky, and the river maple and the fishing fire were sleeping with sorrow. At Hanshan Temple outside Gusu City, the passenger ship arrives at midnight.
Thousands of miles away from home, sorrow is always hard to drive. Fortunately, the times have evolved into the 21st century, more than a thousand years later. Don't forget to pick up your mobile phone, connect with your family, announce that you are safe, share the beautiful scenery, and share happiness.
Fourth stop: Huqiu.
Crossing the bustling streets of Fengqiao Ancient Town, continue to take the tourist bus of Haoxing Line 1 in front of Hanshan Temple, and head to Huqiu, the final destination of the day trip.
Tiger Hill is the symbol of ancient Suzhou City and the symbol of modern Suzhou City. To Suzhou, a must-visit place. After getting off the car from the north gate of Huqiu, the towering Huqiu Pagoda standing on Huqiu Mountain came into view. Tiger Hill is only 5 kilometers away from the city. Legend has it that after the death of King Helu of Wu, the new King Fuchai buried his father here. Three days after the burial, a white tiger sat on it, hence the name Huqiu Mountain, or Tiger Hill for short.
There is a Yunyan Temple on the top of Huqiu Mountain. There is a Yunyan Temple Pagoda in Yunyan Temple. People are accustomed to calling it Huqiu Pagoda. The Tiger Hill Pagoda was first built in the Sui Dynasty. The existing remains of the Song Dynasty are of great historical relics value. Because the top is tilted and will not fall for thousands of years, it is called the Leaning Tower of Pisa in China.
Crossing Huqiu Mountain, the most famous landscape at the foot of the mountain is Huqiu Sword Pool.
It is said that when King Helu of Wu was alive, he was a sword collector and collected countless swords. When burying his father, his son Fuchai piled all the mountains of swords in the big pit at the foot of the mountain to serve as the burial of the late king. Now that this place is full of water, I wonder if those swords are still safe and sound.
Throughout the year, tourists from Tiger Hill always shuttle back and forth like a weave, which fully proves the location of Tiger Hill in Suzhou. Step out of the south gate of the scenic area and look back at the Tiger Hill Pagoda, reluctant to part with it, and it is hard to say goodbye.
