★ Tourist location: Yuhua Scenic Area in Suzhou Dongshan Scenic Area

Continuing up the mountain road, you will find Yuhua Temple. There was originally a Yuhua Tower, which was also one of the main buildings in Shengjing. However, this building is under renovation, so it is not open. Yuhua Temple is the only scenic spot with the word "Yuhua".

Because it is built against the mountain, even if there are not many temples, it still looks very layered. The three archways look very ancient and old, and should not be newly built.

There is a bridge leading to Biluo House, which must be a place for tea and tasting. Because January is the off-season for tourism in Dongshan, and tourists are indeed pitifully few, the small buildings are not open.

The Zen Temple, also known as "Yuhua Temple", was built in the 27th year of Wanli of the Ming Dynasty, rebuilt in the fifth year of Shunzhi of the Qing Dynasty, and rebuilt in the 22nd year of the Republic of China. As for the evolution from an nunnery to a temple, it seems that Yuhua Zen Temple is not an isolated example. For example, Xiangshan Temple in Jiangyin turned out to be Xiangshan Temple; Shigong Temple in Xishan Mountain in Suzhou may also have its predecessor Shigong Temple.

As usual, the mountain gate is dedicated to Maitreya Buddha, but the four great kings on both sides are quite distinctive. Most temples use colored sculptures, but carvings are used here.

The Daxiong Hall is the main hall of the Zen Temple. Because it is built on a slope and has long steps extending away, it naturally looks very majestic, although the scale of the hall is not very large.

There is a stele "Medicine Master Buddha Dojo" next to it. I am a little puzzled. Since it is Medicine Master Buddha's dojo, why is the Buddha still enshrined in the main hall? However, unlike ordinary temples that dedicate the Buddha's golden body, this statue is entirely black. I couldn't help but wonder, maybe the ones enshrined in the Daxiong Hall are pharmacists?

There are not eighteen arhats on both sides. There are six black statues on each side, and there are twelve in total. From this point of view, the person worshiped in the center of the hall is probably not Buddha.

Standing in front of the Daxiong Hall, you can climb the mountain and look far away. Although there was still light rain in the sky and the clouds were very thick, his vision was not greatly affected.

There is no mountain climbing passage behind the main hall. We also climb the mountain from the side door. There is a pavilion on the right side of the road called "Cloud Returning Pavilion". I don't know what kind of cloud it is, but there must be a explanation, but there is no explanation on the side. Instead, a couplet on the pillar may explain some of the reasons: "Clouds have no intention of leaving the mountains, and birds fly when tired."

The terrain here is probably quite high. From the mountain road, you can see rows of houses at the foot of the mountain. They are clean and simple with black tiles and white walls.

By the time we reached Qiyun Pavilion, our physical strength had already been tested. After I hadn't climbed mountains for a long time, I could only repeatedly ask my friends to slow down again. If the weather is fine, I can still take a break on the roadside to replenish some water and food. However, the rain is falling continuously and there is no sign of stopping, and even the chairs in the pavilion are already soaked through. But giving up halfway is not my style. I have to reach the top even if I grit my teeth.

There is a sign beside the road warning,"There is still 600 meters from the summit of Moli Peak." Fortunately, the mountain road is not steep, although the uphill road requires some physical strength, it is not too high to reach. Gritting his teeth, he rushed to "300 meters from the summit of Moli" in one breath. This time, he was immediately refreshed. It didn't take him too long, but it was only three hundred meters? But after walking further about a hundred meters, I saw a sign "There are still 400 meters from the summit of Moli Peak", and I couldn't help but feel a little cold. Are we retreating while walking? I continued to climb the mountain with a nervous mood. Fortunately, I didn't see the archway of Ciyun Nunnery before long.

Seeing the scenic spots, even if there were still three to four hundred meters away from the summit, my spirit was instantly refreshed. In fact, someone may have misplaced the sign and reached the peak of Moli in less than 300 meters.

Moli Peak, commonly known as the "Great Peak", is the second peak of the 72 peaks in Taihu Lake, with an altitude of 293.5 meters. It is said that General Mo Li of the Sui Dynasty lived here and got its name. I am ashamed because I didn't know that there was a famous soldier named Mo Li in Sui Dynasty. Wu Zixu, a famous prime minister of the State of Wu, welcomed his mother here, so this place was also known as Xu Mu Peak.

Climbing to the top of the mountain, there is a boundary marker of Moli Peak. It is estimated that modern people are generally weak in physical strength, and they really need a boundary marker to encourage them. The view from the top of the mountain is wide, and you can see a panoramic view of 36,000 acres of Taihu Lake. Five thousand years of splendid civilization are hidden in the villages of Daiwa and white walls. Looking far away from Mo Li, it is one of the eight ancient scenic spots in Dongshan.

Ciyun Nunnery is built on the summit, with the meaning of "Tathagata's benevolence is like the big cloud, shading the world." However, I think that although this nunnery is located on the Fengshui treasure site of Moli Peak, the incense may not be very strong. After all, climbing Mount Mori still requires a certain amount of physical strength. Of course, people with sincerity may always find a way to get there. When Wu Zixu welcomed his mother, it was not necessarily Wu's mother who had climbed the mountain with a stick.

There is an ancient Guanyin Taoist temple in the nunnery, which should have a long history. The mountain gate is relatively regular, and the golden Maitreya and the four great kings of the colorful sculptures are very bright. The Grand Master Hall is dedicated to the golden Guanyin Grand Master, and there is also a thousand-handed Guanyin on the side.

Outside the nunnery, there is also a small pool on the top of the mountain. It is said to be called Moli Fairy Pond. It does not wither or overflow all year round, which is quite unique. Falling pine needles floated on the water, covering almost the entire pool.

The road was a little slippery when we went down the mountain, but we couldn't get down when it rained, and our umbrellas were sometimes held up. Fortunately, the gravel road was not too long, and we quickly reached the winding mountain road. We could have separated roads here, but after looking at the map of Gaode, the journey down the mountain from here might be longer. It might lead to a certain village. We didn't dare to explore a new road and could only continue to turn back. In fact, we didn't completely turn back. We didn't know when we still deviated from the route. Seeing the attraction being blocked by the wire, we realized that we had unknowingly walked outside the attraction. But fortunately, we did not deviate from the main road. After going down the mountain, we could quickly find the gate of Yuhua Shengjing, so we wouldn't be unable to find the north.

There are several fruit trees planted along this road. The loquats are still in the flowering stage, but the oranges are fully ripe and many have fallen on the ground. I feel sorry for them. I couldn't help but pick one down, peel it off and taste it. The skin was thin and sweet. It was a standard Dongshan tangerine! Along the way down the mountain, I still saw several orange trees of different varieties, one or even most of them had withered on the branches. It was a pity. However, it is possible that the cultivation of tangerines in Dongshan has already reached a large scale. The scattered trees here are just for the needs of landscaping and have not been harvested as fruit trees, right?

When I went down to the bottom of the mountain, I was indeed next to the gate, and I felt very relieved.
