There are many ancient towns in the Yangtze River Delta, some of which are unknown but very good. Wujiang Luxu is one of them. My short trip back and forth in August 2015 took nearly 5 hours. Due to traffic jams, it was a direct journey of nearly 80 kilometers, but it took a detour for 121 kilometers on the way there. The total journey is 225 kilometers, including nearly 70 kilometers of detours.
August 28, 2015 (Wujiang weather: cloudy, 23 to 31 degrees)
At 18:23 p.m., after his wife got off work, they set out from her home in Pudong, Shanghai. Driving from Luoshan Road to the Outer Ring Expressway encountered traffic jams and changed to Shenjiahu Expressway.
At 19:33, I arrived at the Linhai Highway Toll Station of Shenjiahu Expressway and drove a total of 26 kilometers.
At 20:30, I arrived at the Dianshan Lake Service Area of Shanghai-Chongqing Expressway to rest and drove a total of 109 kilometers.
At 20:37, I arrived at the Shanghai-Suzhou Toll Station of the Shanghai-Chongqing Expressway. I traveled a total of 114 kilometers and charged 50 yuan for the highway.
At 20:42, I arrived at the Fenhu Toll Station of the Shanghai-Chongqing Expressway. I traveled a total of 117 kilometers and charged 5 yuan for the highway.
I first went to Tesco Wujiang Fenhu Store.

Considering that the Shanghai-Chongqing Expressway is prone to traffic jams, I stayed in Luxu for one night in advance. This is also because I think I have really been to a place when I travel overnight. That night, we stayed at Hanting Hotel Suzhou Wujiang Luxu Branch. We had a twin-bed room, gold membership was 156 yuan/night (including single breakfast). The hotel has a large parking lot, and the rooms facing the street are quiet at night, but the street is noisy after 6 a.m. the next day and there is no way to sleep longer. A total of 121 kilometers were driven that night.
August 29, 2015 (Wujiang weather: cloudy, 24 to 30 degrees)
On the Baidu map, the markings of Luxu Town can still be seen, but this is already the administrative division of the past. In 2006, Luxu and Lili were integrated, and Fenhu Town was established. In 2013, Fenhu Town was renamed Lili Town. Luxu Old Street is located on the south side of the Taipu River. The north side of the Taipu River is next to National Highway 318, head to Luxu Old Street, turn south from National Highway 318 and enter Punan Road and cross the bridge.
Punan Road is estimated to be the core of Luxu Town at that time. Luxu Old Street is located on the west side of Punan Road and is easy to find by asking local people.
In the Luxu Old Street area, there are two streets sandwiched by a river. On the north side is Guanyin Bridge and on the south side is Dengyun Bridge. It takes about 10 minutes to walk. The picture below shows Guanyin Bridge.
The big wonton shop on the old street has a good business and remains open until 2 a.m. the next day. Wujiang TV reported it.
10 wontons for 6 yuan.
On Luxu Old Street, there are cultural protection units such as Xu's Cross-Street Building, Shen's Cross-Street Building, Guanyin Bridge, and Dengyun Bridge. The picture below shows Xu's cross-street building. Unfortunately, it is not well protected. The interior is like a vegetable market, with meat stalls and a lot of dirty water on the ground.
Climb the cloud bridge.

Hanting Express Suzhou Wujiang Luxu Branch. This store is located at the southwest corner of the intersection of Zhoulu Line on Linhu Avenue, and the northeast corner is Luxu Daqudang Ecological Park.

Fenhu Park. There are classical garden-style buildings in the park, but they are not well protected and appear a little dilapidated.
Fen Lake outside the park. Fenhu Lake is located at the junction of Wujiang, Jiangsu Province and Jiashan, Zhejiang Province. It is 6 kilometers long from east to west and 3 kilometers long from north to south. Half of it belongs to Zhejiang and half to Jiangsu. Fen Lake was called Fenhu in ancient times. It was the boundary lake between Wu and Yue during the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period. On Baidu map, Fenhu Park is marked as Fenhu Park.
Taipu River. It is named Taipu River because it connects Taihu Lake in Jiangsu Province and Huangpu River in Shanghai.
Luxu Daqudang Ecological Park. It should be noted that the attractions and old streets of Luxu are all open, so you don't have to worry about ticket expenses.
The picture below shows the Tesco Wujiang Fenhu store where I photographed the night view on the evening of the 28th.
At 14:48, we arrived at the Fenhu Toll Station of Shanghai-Chongqing Expressway and drove a total of 138 kilometers.
At 14:50, I arrived at the Shanghai-Suzhou Toll Station of the Shanghai-Chongqing Expressway. I traveled a total of 140 kilometers and charged 5 yuan for the highway.
At 15:23, I arrived at Xujing Toll Station of Shanghai-Chongqing Expressway. I traveled a total of 183 kilometers and charged 30 yuan for the highway.
After passing through the Xujing Toll Station on the Shanghai-Chongqing Expressway, I encountered serious traffic jams. It took nearly 40 minutes to drive to the Huqingping Overpass in the Outer Ring Road, about 4 kilometers. I had to make a detour again, get off the Outer Ring Expressway, take Caobao Road, and then take the Central Ring Line back to Pudong.
At 17:10, I returned to my home in Pudong, Shanghai, totaling 225 kilometers.
