When you come to Gusu, they all pillow the river.
There is little idle land in the ancient palace, and many small bridges in the water harbor.
How many times are these scenes appearing in movies
The bridge is like a rainbow, the water is like air,
The side canopies make the river breeze,
How many times have these scenes appeared in my dreams
A small bridge flowing through a house
How many people have longed for this life
So I brought these images, these scenes, and these aspirations to come here - Zhouzhuang. Because of Zhouzhuang, I fell in love with the entire Suzhou city.
A Hanfu suit
Accidentally crossing thousands of years
A Suzhou City
Half of the Jiangnan Poetry
In my dream, I met but didn't see anyone
If you know it's a dream, why wake up
We go from sunrise in the morning to sunset in the west, and then to the dawn of the lanterns

Drunk Night - "First Meeting - Zhouzhuang"
It was already evening when I first saw Zhouzhuang. Zhouzhuang Town was first built in the first year of Yuanyou in the Northern Song Dynasty (1086), with a history of over 900 years. It is one of the six ancient towns in Jiangnan and is known as the "Number One Water Town in China".
Zhou Zhuang, adorned with colorful lanterns, appears particularly charming, like a bride dressed in wedding attire, waiting to get married. Thousands of glass lanterns light up the entire night of Zhou Zhuang.
However, when you come to Zhouzhuang, you must experience it as a boat. In the past, almost every household had a small boat. Now, when you come to Zhouzhuang, how can you not experience the life of the people at that time? Riding on a gurgling light boat, you can still experience the best way of living in a water town. Amidst the hazy water color, you stumble into the dreams of Zhouzhuang's people
We rode a hand cranked boat through the water alleys amidst the light and shadow, enjoying the dreamy night scenery of the water town amidst the microwave turbulence.
The twinkling stars on the fishing boat lit up the glass lights of the entire water alley, and light boats began to float. "The sound of oars and the shadows of lights, the boat traveled around the village.".
We sat on Grandma's hand-operated boat, gently swaying and swaying, not knowing whether it was the night that intoxicated us or whether we were intoxicated by this night.
On the night of Zhouzhuang, there is also a place that must be checked in, the Flower Alley and Rain Alley. Walking into the alley is like entering the kingdom of flowers, with countless petals expressing endless longing. Pink and Daisy fly, people walk in the flowers, and the scenery born from people may be said to be this scene.
Continuing forward, I found a stunning woman wearing a qipao at a corner, holding a book and sitting quietly by the sidelines. The gentle breeze blew, and waves of falling petals fluttered in the wind, scattering all over the eaves of the house,
On the other side of the corner, there is a cute cat sleeping soundly, one person and one cat, appearing particularly peaceful against the gentle breeze and petal blowing.
As the night deepened, we didn't want to end such a beautiful night like this, so we decided to go to the ancient theater to have a cup of tea, listen to a Kunqu opera, and experience the joy of life in Zhouzhuang.
The night is deep, and in the quiet West Bay, there are boats and fishing boats moored in Zhouzhuang water town. The small boats embrace and stop here, and the small scenes of fishermen's lives are presented in a silhouette style in the water alley, just like a scene in a painting.
In the early morning mist, "Encounter Zhouzhuang Again"
Last night's Zhouzhuang made us linger and forget to leave, so this morning we woke up early just to see the beauty of Zhouzhuang earlier. We changed into a Hanfu, as if we had gone back thousands of years.
In the daytime, Zhou Zhuang was like a unmarried girl in her boudoir, wearing a white plain robe that was full of poetic and picturesque charm.
Standing under the small bridge, listening to the murmuring sound of flowing water, it seems that the water here is telling us about the past and present lives of Zhouzhuang
Because it was the first day of 2021, I was extremely lucky to meet Zhou Zhuang's New Year's Day celebration, where the Golden Bull welcomed guests and had good financial luck,
In Zhouzhuang, the traditional year of the Water Village, the ancient archway celebrates the opening of the village on New Year's Day, with dragon and lion dances and promotions, decorated with lanterns, colorful decorations, and gongs and drums. The "village leader" of Zhouzhuang brings everyone to pray and pray for 2021.
The Chinese New Year is here, and the taste of the year is palpable. Experience the traditional customs of water towns, such as "walking the spring ox", "sacrificing the spring ox", and "beating the spring ox". "Beat" the good omens of the Chinese New Year, "touch" the auspicious year, and touch the head of the spring ox to bring blessings; If you touch the waist of a spring ox, your wealth will rise to your waist; Three touches of spring ox tail, blessings and longevity do not see the tail.
In the streets and alleys of Zhouzhuang, we have found many shops with inscriptions, which shows how many literati and literati once loved this place. We have also followed them to a place, adding a blessing to our New Year and giving it to you in the distance and now to yourself.
In the alleys of Zhouzhuang, I found a shop called Zhouzhuang Pocket Ceramic Museum, which is full of mini versions of Shen Wansan made of pottery based on the prototype of Shen Wansan. They are super cute
Moving forward, there are also museums, cultural and creative shops, and cultural and creative museums with embroidery as their theme, which can be said to be the favorite of girls, and each piece is irresistible.
"Zhouzhuang · Wealth Luck" Searching for Shen Wansan's Wealth Luck Journey
When it comes to Zhouzhuang, perhaps the first thing that comes to mind is not only the water town, but also Shen Wansan. The place that must be visited when coming to Zhouzhuang is Shen Ting. Shen Ting is located on Nanshi Street on the south side of the Fu'an Bridge in Zhouzhuang, facing east and west, with seven entrances and five gates. There are over 100 houses of various sizes, and it is known as the "most residential area in Jiangnan".
Among the nearly a thousand residential buildings in Zhouzhuang and even in the water towns of Jiangnan, Shen Ting is the most representative.
Here is a seated statue of Shen Wansan, a wealthy man from Jiangnan. In front of him is a glittering treasure pot. People always use coins to smash Shen Wanshan's gold ingots. It is said that if they hit it, they can attract wealth and treasure
This is Shen Wansan's entrance to the restaurant. In front of you, there are several tables of wine and food. This is the famous Wansan Family Banquet with eight bowls, and the middle dish is Wansan Hoof
Have you noticed the basin held in the hand of this statue, shining with gold? Every friend who comes to touch this "treasure trove" in order to gain wealth, and as time passes, the basin also shines brightly.
There are over a hundred rooms, big and small, here that record Shen Wansan's life story. If you dare not take the time, you may want to find an afternoon to slowly experience Shen Wansan's life story.
You must not miss the boat ride on the wealth road in Zhouzhuang. Riding on a rocking boat during the day is another feeling. A painting of ink and blue is now in front of you, and every plant, every brick, and tile here are clearly presented in front of you.
Rocking the boat through the water alley, watching the pedestrians coming and going on both sides, everything is so comfortable. If you are tired of the hustle and bustle of coming to the city, why not come to Zhouzhuang and have a few days of your own slow life.
The cruise ship will stop at the shore midway, and you can go to the God of Wealth's residence to worship the God of Wealth, drill copper coin eyes, make wishes and pray for blessings, and experience the wealth fortune of Zhouzhuang.
The God of Wealth Residence was originally the former residence of Shen Wansan, located in Dongcha, Zhouzhuang Town. Here, you can see various legends about Shen Wansan's wealth, the bumpy history of business, his legendary life experiences, and scenes of the Shen family's daily life.
Due to his popularity among people, Shen Wansan is revered by the people of Zhouzhuang as the "God of Wealth" among the Five Wealth Gods. On the fifth day of the Lunar New Year, during the God of Wealth Festival, the gods of wealth come together to Zhouzhuang to bring abundant wealth and energy to the people of Zhouzhuang and the guests who come from afar.
Searching for the Twelve Blocks of "Zhouzhuang · Inheritance"
There is an ancient street in Zhouzhuang, a Zhenfeng Cultural Street that inherits veteran artists. Here, there are the most distinctive "twelve neighborhoods" of Zhouzhuang, including Jinke Hall, Embroidery Workshop, Wooden Ware Workshop, Tofu Workshop, Iron Shop Workshop, Shoe Art Workshop, Bamboo Weaving Workshop, Nuclear Carving Workshop, Wine Workshop, Earth Cloth Workshop, Brick Workshop, and Mating Art Workshop... Each of these neighborhoods is a typical Zhouzhuang, and we can experience and experience the traditional Zhouzhuang culture up close
Here are the most unique handicrafts, simple folk customs, and charming water towns of the indigenous people. If you want to experience the authentic Zhouzhuang, you must come here
Tie Pu Fang, handmade iron components have been passed down for thousands of years. The first thing we see when we enter Tie Pu Fang is Master Dai, who is in his 70s. Master Dai started learning how to make iron at the age of 13 and has been making it for over 60 years with just one strike.
It is said that there are three difficulties in the world: rocking the boat, forging iron, and grinding tofu. However, this old man persisted for more than 60 years with his unwavering perseverance, preserving this cultural heritage.
With the development of the times, our lives have become increasingly convenient and fast. Too many things have been extremely replaced, but at the same time, we also hope to preserve these old inherited technologies and become a part of our history,
Master Dai told us that many farmers in Zhouzhuang still have a demand for these iron tools, which are essential tools for growing vegetables and flowers.
Walking forward, you will see a shoe art shop where embroidered shoes are also known as "Chinese shoes" by the world. Walking into the shoe art shop, you will see Grandma Miao, who is in her 60s, wearing a small floral cloth shirt and tied two small braids, about to prepare boiled water to embroider small cloth shoes.
Every embroidered shoe here is handmade by the old lady, from the sole, upper to the upper, and even the tiger head and dragon pattern embroidery on the fabric is stitch by stitch. A pair of tiger headed shoes, both of which are authentic thousand layered fabric shoes, not only exquisite but also durable.
Tu Bu Fang, a traditional handicraft that reproduces the authentic flavor of Jiangnan, is woven with Tu Bu. Standing at the door, I looked at each piece of pure cotton cheongsam, jacket, and pants made of earth cloth. On the walls, there were ancient and elegant water town cheongsams hanging in classic and durable styles, all of which were exquisite craftsmanship of the elderly
The long-standing water town household weaving technique is fortunate. Here, one can still see that Zhouzhuang has been a cotton producing area since ancient times, with many farmers engaged in cotton planting, spinning, and weaving. The cotton fabrics produced include Qizi cloth (white cotton yarn is woven into small squares with green cotton yarn to form a chessboard pattern, which can be used as towels), Xueli green cloth (blue and white cotton yarn is woven one by one), and so on.
In the century old Yuanfengshun Liquor Workshop, a traditional brewing process takes four years to taste a vat of wine after fermentation and sedimentation.
The brewing process of Yuanfengshun is inherited by its family, dating back to the reign of Emperor Daoguang, with the aroma of the wine lingering for two hundred years. The raw materials are made of glutinous rice unique to water towns, which undergoes eight steps: soaking rice, steaming rice, fermenting in a vat, raking, pressing, clarifying, frying wine, and canning before the wine can be produced.
In the yard, hundreds of cleaned celadon vases were neatly arranged, with a full vat of snow-white, fragrant new glutinous rice soaked in water. Pouring out the water, several middle-aged people teamed up to lift the jar of rice into the house and put it into a special container, beginning the long brewing process.
After nearly ten ancestral brewing processes, including soaking rice, steaming rice, spreading rice, placing it in a vat, raking it open, pressing it, making it clear, frying wine, and bottling it, the "Wansan Yellow Wine" and "October White" with a water town flavor were brewed. "The white wine brewed with glutinous rice is clear in color and delicious in taste. It is best brewed in October of the lunar calendar, so it is called October White."
The authentic art of the indigenous people of Zhouzhuang presents the simple and mellow water town with their own hands. The unique craftsmanship polished by time and the authentic and simple lifestyle of the water town have opened the eyes of tourists who come from afar.
After strolling through the twelve neighborhoods of Zhouzhuang, why not go to the neighboring tea house and listen to a song, a cup of light tea, a golden song, and a lingering aftertaste.
Zhouzhuang Cuisine Tour
Apart from the beautiful scenery, what must not be missed during the trip is the coveted delicacies. As the saying goes, food is the top priority. So let's embark on our culinary journey in Zhouzhuang
When you go to Zhouzhuang, you must go to the Shenting Restaurant. When you go to the Shenting Hotel, you must eat the eight bowls of the Wansan Family Banquet from the Shenting Restaurant, and the eight bowls of the Wansan Family Banquet must eat Wansanti.
"Shi" Shen Ting Restaurant
When it comes to Wansanti, he has another allusion. In fact, Wansanti is what we commonly refer to as pig trotters or pig elbows. So why doesn't he call it pig trotters or pig elbows? The thing is like this.
During the reign of Zhu Yuanzhang, Zhu Yuanzhang visited Shen Wansan's house as a guest. Shen Wansan entertained Zhu Yuanzhang with pig hooves. As the emperor was unable to wield knives, Shen Wansan drew a thin bone from his hooves and used it to cut meat. This gave rise to the current method of eating meat with bones.
Zhu Yuanzhang thought it was delicious and asked Shen Wansan what the name of this dish was. Because "Zhu" sounds the same as "pig", Shen Wansan named it Wan San Ti, which is the origin of the name and way of eating Wan San Ti,
Wansanti is a symbol of reunion. During festivals and holidays, when guests come to the house, they will definitely have this dish. The saying goes, "No hooves, no feast." "Fat but not greasy, crispy but not rotten." Its workmanship is quite exquisite, requiring several hours of stewing, steaming, and simmering, along with more than ten ingredients, to form the characteristics of hooves with a sauce red color, a fragrant aroma, and a full appearance. The taste is excellent.
San Wei Yuan, which looks like fish balls, is actually made from gluten. It is cooked in chicken soup, with a thin skin and tender filling, and a delicious taste.
What kind of dish is this fragrant fried golden brick? Surprisingly, it was a plate of fried tofu. The dried tofu was fried crispy and golden yellow, and then paired with a special sauce. Because of its golden color, it looked like golden bricks just out of the pot, so it was named Piaoxiang Fried Golden Bricks
Braised eel tube in brown sauce. After slaughtering the fresh eel, wash it and cut it into sections. Then braise it in brown sauce.
Snail stuffed meat, usually rarely eaten snails. Today, I finally couldn't help it. This dish is to dig out the snail meat, then add minced pig leg meat, add seasonings such as scallions, ginger, and cooking wine, and finally stuff it into the snail shell for cooking. It can be said that the meal has two flavors, with both the freshness of snails and the fragrance of pork, which is delicious and delicious!
The recipe for braised Mandarin fish is braised, with the fish head and tail curled up like ingots, symbolizing wealth and treasure. The taste is excellent, sweet and sour, and the meat is fresh and tender.
Oil radish stuffed with meat, this is a home cooked dish in Zhouzhuang. The essence of pork leg meat is finely chopped with seasoning, and then stuffed with wild vegetables into bean products such as oil radish before cooking. The people of Zhouzhuang have an innovative spirit, they can chop pork and stuff it into anything that can be made into food, thus forming a new dish.
Farmhouse eel and carp, also known as Zhouzhuang Grandma's vegetable, may seem like a simple home cooked dish, but it takes several months of meticulous craftsmanship to make. The tender moss of rapeseed is washed with clean water, sun dried in the sun, and then marinated in small pots (b è ng). The pot mouth is sealed with bamboo leaves and yellow mud, and inverted in a pottery basin to prevent air leakage,
Although some of these dishes are already very ordinary, they have entered our home cooked dishes series. However, when historical and cultural elements are added, it becomes no longer ordinary. It is not just a food, but also a cultural inheritance.
"Shi" Quangong Building Fashion Restaurant
A restaurant full of festive atmosphere, even its name is very meaningful, so today's reunion banquet starts here.
Wealth reunion - Wansanchi goes with Soy egg. Because Wansanchi at the last Wansanjia banquet was so delicious, we couldn't resist it this time and continued to enjoy it
Full of Gold and Jade - Full of Tea Emperor Shrimp, infused with the aroma of tea, making it fresh, tender, and delicious
Every year there is more than enough - Squirrel Mandarin Fish, also known as the braised Mandarin Fish we ordered before, loves this dish so much
Big Lucky Insect - Grass Flower Chicken Soup, in the winter of Zhouzhuang, a bowl of chicken soup warms up the whole person.
Steaming day by day - Babaofan (Rice pudding with eight-delicious ingredients), rare in the north, tastes great
Family Joy - Reunion Dumplings. When the New Year's flavor is strong, how can dumplings be missing
Accumulating Gold and Jade - Stir fried Pork with Mustard greens, a delicious dish made from home cooked dishes
As long as you order a reunion banquet here, you can also receive 4 universal tickets to Zhouzhuang Scenic Area as a bonus, which is super cost-effective.
"Eating" the Wisdom of the Sea Bass Resort Hotel Restaurant
The thoughts of the sea bass have the meaning of missing our hometown here. On this day of the beginning of the new year, we have decided to start our dinner here. Wansanjiao has become a must-have dish for every meal, it's really amazing.
Squirrel Mandarin Fish, highly recommended. The meat is fresh and tender, with a sweet and sour taste.
Tang Zhuo Snow Beef, originally thought it was a dessert, but upon tasting it, I discovered it was beef. The green powder sprinkled on the outside was not matcha powder, but okra powder.
Braised eels in brown sauce, three flavored round grass chicken in a clay pot, have become a must order dish for us every time
And there are also rice cakes made of water shield perch and glutinous rice with eight treasures, the land of fish and rice in Jiangnan, with an excellent taste
"Su" Latte Play Stone Art Inn
We actually live in a museum, where the Iron Play Stone Art Inn is located in the Carton King Museum. The room is very large and can be accessed by opening the window. The scenery of Zhouzhuang and the air conditioning in the room are super warm. When we wake up, the temperature drops to 25 degrees. If you are afraid of the cold, you can turn on the air conditioning in advance so that you can return to the room and feel warm
The nearby Carton King Museum is filled with various decorations made of cardboard boxes, extending the creativity of "paper" infinitely.
Outdoor is like a children's kingdom, super suitable for children to come and play

Searching for the New Year's Flavor in Zhouzhuang Xiangcun
"
There is actually a Xiangcun Qizhuang hidden next to the ancient town of Zhouzhuang, which can be reached by car in just ten minutes. Therefore, we decided to drive to Xiangcun to search for the long lost flavor of the year and the memories of childhood
I want to find them one by one in Xiangcun.
As soon as we arrived at Xiangcun, we found a glass house. We ordered afternoon tea to drive away the cold of today. In the warm winter afternoon, sunlight shone through the glass window on us,
Reading the story of Zhou Zhuang, who is nine hundred years old, enjoying the lazy afternoon tea, life also requires occasional relaxation
Searching for New Year's Flavor and Learning to Make Pastries
To celebrate a Chinese New Year in Xiangcun, Zhouzhuang, there is a row of pickled goods hanging on bamboo poles next to the fence. This is a long lost New Year's flavor, and we don't know how many years we haven't felt this kind of New Year's flavor
Jiangnan people have loved to eat pastries since ancient times, and they have a special fondness for them. Although they are not Jiangnan women, they are also irresistible to pastries. We went to the Xiangcun pastry shop and made pastry buns with Grandma, experiencing the New Year flavor of Xiangcun together.
Grandma used his solid palms to create the most fragrant dough, with the warmth of her hands, pure rice aroma, natural colors, and fresh taste. The crispy and glutinous pastry in the pastry shop makes the whole winter lively.
Can you guess what this is? This is a print made from reed stalks, and the decorative patterns on our Xigao and Tuanzi below are printed using this.
Xigao, the people here are very particular about it. For festive events such as newlyweds getting engaged, getting married, having their children full moon, celebrating the 100th anniversary, going to the upper beam, and moving to a new house, they all have to eat Xigao.
Tuanzi, freshly made from a cage, is green and oily, as delicate as jade. It is also made from bean paste, sesame seeds, fresh meat, pickled vegetables, and shredded radish. It can be either meat or vegetarian, sweet or salty, and is amazing
It smells fragrant and fragrant, and when consumed, it is even smoother and more delicious, mixed with a hint of grass fragrance. The more you chew it, the more delicious it becomes. The dough is divided into two colors: green and white. During the late Qing Dynasty, it was listed as a seasonal tribute.
The plum blossom cake in Jiangnan lacks synthetic spices and pigments, and is made entirely of fresh fruit kernels, pulp, floral materials, vegetables, and other accessories to enhance its natural aroma and color.
Auntie would boil today's purple potatoes, pumpkins, spinach, and dragon fruit into liquid every morning when she woke up,. Pour in flour and knead to create a natural color, full of a gentle and natural atmosphere.
Pour the mixed flour into the plum blossom mold, sprinkle with dried dates and red and green shreds, and steam each pastry one by one in a pressure cooker on the cake mold.
The tempting aroma of the cake wafted away, steaming hot, and a soft bite melted into the tip of the tongue before it even started to chew.
After finishing the pastries, be sure to go to the fields here, pick a basket of vegetables, feel the pastoral atmosphere of Xiangcun, and also contribute to our dinner.
Searching for the New Year's Flavor, "Childhood Memories"
After everything is ready, we return to our home today. Our home is No. 3 homestay in the 1990s, which was built around 1993. This house is about the same age as us, so it must have many memories about us.
He is a simple and peaceful rural villa with a machine well that we have seen when we were young in the yard. The whole building has five bedrooms, which is just enough for us and our group to move in.
The room is spacious and bright, and when the curtains are opened, sunlight can come in, as if living in a sunny room.
We are all ready now. Do you remember when we were children, we would wear red and fiery new clothes every Chinese New Year to welcome the first day of the new year? So today we go back to our childhood and do the things we did when we were young again
We were sticking window decorations inside, as if those childhood memories slowly returned to our hearts
As dusk falls, we set off fireworks in the yard, waving fairy sticks in our hands, as if we have returned to our childhood.
Searching for New Year's Eve Dinner - Xiangcun Hefengli Restaurant
Once everything is ready, we will start our fantastic New Year's Eve dinner.
My favorite is still Wan San Ti, which is a must order dish for every meal. This taste has become an indispensable delicacy for every meal.
Local chicken gluten soup, also known as the three round local chicken soup that we often eat, is the preferred choice on cold winter days.
There are also braised Chenghu big fish head with radish, and vermicelli duck blood fried fish small egg dumplings in a pot. These two dishes are considered the specialties here, and the taste is fantastic
There are also homemade cauliflower and pork slices, shredded pork with winter bamboo shoots, cabbage rice cake, and stir fried spinach, all of which are the flavors we had when we were children.
Finally, there are the vegetables we personally picked.
