The spring scenery in Jiangnan is just right, and the night is getting darker.
Strolling on the Hengjing Old Street in Shajiabang Scenic Area, looking at the pink walls and black tiles illuminated by the lights, I marveled at the tourism industry in my hometown of Changshu and took it to a new level.
The Hengjing Old Street at night has never been so lively before.
As a major event in Changshu, on the evening of March 6th, I also had the privilege of witnessing the opening ceremony of the 2021 Shajiabang "Hengjing Never Nights" and the 4th Shajiabang Wetland Blue Flower Festival, which aimed to illuminate the bright future of Hengjing.
Changshu Shajiabang Reed Pond Scenic Area is a national 5A level tourist area and one of the largest ecological wetlands in East China.
The "Red Education Tour" with traditional education as the theme, the "Green Ecological Tour" with sightseeing and leisure as the content, the "Golden Food Tour" with tasting aquatic products as the feature, and the "Film and Television Cultural Tour" with ancient town culture as the highlight - the "Four Color Tour" in Shajiabang have long enjoyed a high reputation.
I visit Shajiabang Scenic Area several times a year, experiencing different feelings in spring, summer, autumn, and winter. I gradually become familiar with every plant, tree, and flower here.
Every time a friend comes to my hometown, I would recommend him to visit Shajiabang Scenic Area, which has the authentic Jiangnan scenery. Hengjing Old Street, Reed Maze, Hand Rock Boat, Jiangnan Homestay... all make friends linger endlessly.
Nowadays, the Shajiabang Scenic Area has the advantage of staying up for a few more nights, even though it's not a night in the Hengjing area.
"Find a story in one night, meet an era on an old street."
The newly created "Hengjing Never Nights" integrates elements such as immersive performance, folk art, light and shadow technology, block sightseeing, night cruise, and interactive dressing, bringing tourists a layered and three-dimensional night travel experience.
The sky is deep blue, and the lanterns are rising. With full expectations, I arrived early at Hengjing Old Street.
Hengjing Old Street is a street restored for the filming of the TV drama "Shajiabang".
This street preserves the old look of rural buildings, absorbs the essence of ancient towns in the south of the Yangtze River, reconstructs the market customs in the 1930s and 1940s, and awakens people's memories of "hometown in dreams".
The artistic conception of Jiangnan needs to be slowly felt.
Here, there are scenes such as the Diao Family Courtyard, the Weng Family Zao Fang, the blacksmith's shop, the blue printed cloth, and the old street post office. The most famous one is Ah Qing's Chunlai Tea House, which is the scene of "setting up a seven star stove, boiling three rivers in a copper pot, setting up an eight immortal table, and entertaining sixteen parties.".
Tourists strolled down the old street in pairs, while young couples laughed in the camera lens; The child pestered the father to buy marshmallows; The older generation of tourists lament the passage of time; The old house by the river, who leans against the railing and misses
There are also local delicacies such as tofu flower, crepe Wonton, folding tent dried tofu, Shajiabang chicken, waiting for the diners to find one by one.
The illuminated Shajiabang Hengjing Old Street has a completely different feeling from the daytime, bright and charming. This Hengjing Old Street, although not long, is a condensed Jiangnan.
There are two homestays in Shajiabang Scenic Area, Jiangnan Luhua Bay and Jiuzhu Homestay. One is located on Hengjing Old Street and the other is on the opposite bank of the river, both of which are very close.
I suggest you stay and watch the performance of "Hengjing Never Nights" before taking a walk back to the homestay.
The "Hengjing Never Nights" project consists of three major parts: "Iron Flower Danxin", "Night in the Ludang", and "Shadow Battle - Shajiabang". Let me take you to experience how wonderful the night at Shajiabang is now!
1、 The famous national intangible cultural heritage of "Iron Flower Danxin" lit up by fireworks in the night skyI once watched a iron beating game in Jincheng, Shanxi, and it is vivid in my memory.
Da Tie Hua, one of the national intangible cultural heritages, is a traditional folk fireworks that has been passed down in the Yu Jin region. It originated in the Northern Song Dynasty and flourished in the Ming and Qing dynasties, with a history of over a thousand years.
I didn't expect such a wonderful performance in Shajiabang, Changshu, my hometown. It's really impressive. I thought to myself that I must take my parents to experience it once.
The dazzling iron flowers illuminated the night sky, fleeting like fireworks. Combining the scenes of the Ludang Theater, there is a unique beauty.
People took out their phones and cameras to record this dreamy moment and share it with their friends. But I always feel that no matter how I shoot it, I can't capture the feeling of the scene.
In the dream of Jiangnan, iron flowers dancing, a beautiful story... The performance is over, and everyone feels unsatisfied.
2、 The Immersive Performance of Walking in the Story of "Night on the Reed"Travel through time and enter the story. This is the overall feeling that "Night in the Reed" gives me. This immersive performance makes you forget who you are, as if returning to old times.
Sentinel gates, lurking red shadows, deep affection, intellectual battles, welcoming weddings... In each story, feel those stories that have not been forgotten by history, feel the deep emotions of military and civilian fish and water, and feel the joyful old weddings.
At night, in the spring tea house, you can enjoy a pot of tea while listening to the uncle and aunt on the stage telling stories about Shajiabang vividly.
3、 The large-scale live performance of the upgraded version of "The Hidden Battle of Shajiabang"As the night gradually deepened, another grand finale was about to begin at the Hengjing Theater, not far from Hengjing Old Street.
The half hour performance of "Shadow Battle of Shajiabang" was very exciting every minute, and the lineup was not to be underestimated, making it overwhelming. And the costumes, lighting, and actors are all quite professional.
Music, dance, acrobatics, light and shadow... combined with short and exciting stories, unfold slowly, and you must personally experience them.
At the same time, the fourth Shajiabang Wetland Blue Flower Festival has also begun.
Shajiabang Scenic Area will also launch various "blue flower" themed activities and food products. The experience of appreciating blue flowers, enjoying spring banquets, visiting Hengjing, and staying at homestays in Shajiabang Scenic Area is getting better and better!
Appreciate the "Blue Flower Fields on the Water" and see the "Hengjing Never Nights", come to the Shajiabang Scenic Area in Changshu, Jiangsu, experience the original flavor of Jiangnan, and feel that both day and night are the splendid and wonderful twelve hours of Shajiabang!
